Trump calls the Iranian people “cancer that needs to be eradicated”
As plain as day, Trump is calling certain Iranian leaders a cancer, not the "Iranian people".

Many nations, including mine, have had and/or do have leaders that many of us here would consider cancers that need to be eradicated. Which leader(s) a given person will think this of will vary by person ... but quite a few of us here have thought this of some of their "leaders", at sometime or other.

Have you not thought this yourself, of the current American leader?

That does NOT mean I want the American people eradicated. Nor do I want the Iranian people eradicated. Good grief. I wish both people well (though, granted, I have more skin in the game with one of these people than the other.)

To clarify I am the messenger not the person that said the following on X!

Trump calls the Iranian people “cancer that needs to be eradicated”

The X tweeter is Arya Yadeghaar who is Iranian and of course he takes the insulting remarks to encompass the nation of Iran.

The “Epstein” coalition murdered the Iranian supreme leader, members of his family and 168 schoolchildren at the start of this war on Iran and you want to split hairs on whether Arya’s remark should only mean the leaders of Iran and not the people of the country of Iran?

Here is FM Araghchi comment re Trump’s remarks.

What's behind Iranian calls for revenge on Trump?

The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal interviews Setareh Sadeqi of the University of Tehran about calls by average Iranians and some politicians for targeting Trump and Netanyahu as revenge for their assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

❗️⚔️🇮🇷 CONFIRMED: A railway bridge was targeted in Golestan Province, northern Iran

Due to the nature and location of the strike, this was either carried out by internal saboteurs or Israeli jets from the Caspian Sea.

Alternatively, the U.S. may have used a ground-based missile system (like HIMARS) in Turkmenistan.

Mehr News also confirmed strikes on Iranshahr's airport. A firefighter was killed.

The U.S. also bombed NORTHERN Iran's Golestan Province and hit a Railway Bridge

It is being specualted that this may have been Israel OR the U.S. used a missile system from Turkmenistan.

    This is BAD

Correcting what Trump meant with cancer-not the Iranian people but its leaders!-is not splitting hairs but of great importance for the sake of truth and for the real lesson we are learning as humanity to not blindly project blame & hatred on an entire population! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whatever we think of Trump,if he was not the president this war would have happened anyway,it was planned and prepared long ago.Its unrealistic to assume Trump can just end this war because he wants to. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------. To project the cause of this war just on Trump is a useless simplification ,propagandized by the medea to stir up the emotions and distract from the complicated nuanced bigger picture with many players & interests.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In the end its all about we the people who have to emancipate ourselves from the mental slavery ,overcome the mind control and give up our support for ANY war if we ever want to live a life on a peaceful planet.

This is a non-sequitur. There's no "if", because that is the president, and none other has started the attack. How would we know what anyone else would do?

We did that in the 70s. How does it stop the United States?

Do you know of a time when force was stopped by something else?

In the beginning, we, the people, should emancipate ourselves from the political candidates. Granted, others are sometimes warlike, but this is a pretty specific Neocon doctrine. From when 47 was a democrat salivating over Kharg Island. Why would he need to become Republican in order to launch this war?

Arva's remarks were, at least as presented to us, in direct response to Trump's words, which were explicitly and directly referring to some of the leaders of Iran, to the "first set of leaders", then the "second set of leaders", not to all Iranians. This is not splitting hairs. Listen to Trump's words in that clip. Plain as day.

You apparently chose to be the unapologetic messenger for the blatant misuse of a phrase taken out of the context just presented, because it is your understanding that great crimes were committed by Trump and others. We probably do not agree on who amongst Trump and people he has known have committed great crimes, or what all crimes were committed, but I would quite agree with you that great crimes have been, and continue to be attempted, by some of such people.

But Trump was speaking in that clip of a couple sets of Iranian leadership when he spoke of eradicating a cancer. Period. Plain as day. Not of the Iranian people. Not of those school children.

(Moreover, I happen to agree with Trump on that point. I agree that the recent leadership of Iran has been a cancer that must be removed - a cancer installed more by the British Foreign Office and CIA/MI6/... than by the will of the Iranian people. My nation, the U.S., has in my view a similar cancer, that also needs eradicating.)

As a just another member of this forum, not as an Admin or any such, I would encourage other members to not be unapologetic messengers of blatantly inaccurate, deliberately angst inducing, clips.

The evidence of great crimes is sufficiently abundant that we need not discredit our investigations and discussions with such flawed rhetoric.

The 70´s were a premature stage in the process for this emancipation, definitely not the much more profound transformation wich humanity will need to go through to be ready for living a higher peaceful level wich will be the only way to be able to survive as humanity in the near future.I dont know of ´a time when force was stopped ´,-nothing comes to mind at the moment-but i do think humanity is still not ready to avoid war ,-whoever the leader is-and that we are doomed playing out whats not understood completely untill we fully overcome the mindcontrol and face our own shadow. The day must come when we realize that we are all part of eachother and that there is only one of us.Then we made true progress.

Ok. If what you are referring to is an indefinite, unknown future state, then, yes, it must be so.

"Humanity" is an aggregate of individuals, and so, in general, we could look at our "anti-war generation" as perhaps themselves being adequately "progressed", but the thing is, we never put such individuals in Congress. No popular demand or right way of thinking seized the day.

We can find maybe about ten such Representatives these days, "tokens" to be overwhelmed by the pavement of "patriotism."

Then, to be more specific, Republicans must face their own shadow and overcome these causes of hostility, which are themselves.

You might think of them as similar to a European royal dynasty, in the sense it is (with a few name changes) the centralizing Wall Street party that has raised itself ever since making the Constitution. There's nothing else like it.

We can use legal force against it, to remove them from office and repeal and replace all that awful legislation, we still have that opportunity in the United States. Concerning its military, we don't; that can only be stopped by the physical force of a peer rival, as is happening.

Such replacement is easily possible; in one of our local Primaries, we had an Islamic candidate who platformed with "extremes" such as ending all support for Israel and a phenomenal re-working of income tax, and, although losing, the count was about 48,000 - 46,500. We definitely have a "we" who is not too unprogressed and would drastically draw down all the military adventurism. But we also have a dictator who wants to throw us out.

It's a power struggle, and I, at least, do not expect the status quo to "listen" or change its view, but they can be corralled into a corner and rendered obsolete.

According to sources relayed to Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir from inside the inner circle of Iran’s new leader Mostafa Khamenei, one more US military strike could trigger Iran’s formal withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) — and, in the source’s own words, “all bets are off.” In this breaking episode, Pepe Escobar and Larry Johnson break down the renewed US bombing campaign, strikes on BRICS-linked civilian infrastructure, the Strait of Hormuz sovereignty standoff, and the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve countdown that could hit crisis by mid-August.

Larry Johnson explains why 70% of US refineries depend on sour crude now blocked at Hormuz, why Iran’s mass mourning of 40+ million people is Iran’s “Pearl Harbor moment,” and why Trump — not Tehran — is the one begging mediators for talks in Islamabad. This is the fullest breakdown connecting Iran’s NPT decision, the oil shock, and the collapse of the Versailles MOU before anyone else.
Sources: Pepe Escobar (geopolitical correspondent) and Larry Johnson (former CIA / State Department analyst). Some claims are source-based and developing; framing reflects verification status.

My family history puts me in the category of an Australian diaspora Jew, not that I ever really cared about such identities. Since a child such concpets have always felt like a cage... national pride, or waving flags so on and so forth. I have learned a lot more since October 7th and everything after. A secondary wake up call just when I thought I knew. The stuff I was raised on as a kid, the propaganda, it's all been turned on its head. I've seen how victim narratives can be exploited in the deepest sense, both in the victim to perpetrator cycle minus conflation, but more so how deep the lies and deception go. The hate and bitterness ... all of it rebounding on all sides regardless of wrong and right, evil and good. Since October 7th I have been cut off by my own family for asking questions and not just swallowing what I was told. I've also been subject to Christian propaganda mixed up with political dogma, all working towards self-vested interests that care for nothing other than fulfilling their own prophecies/agendas, where the only care for humanity is to put them back in the pen before the gatekeepers lose control. It seems all the different narratives are starting to fall apart regardless of what comes next. I have been quite misanthropic for some time, but I'm trying to change my view to more pity humanity's position as I ponder more about who and what is really in control.

Apart from the senseless and tragic human loss of life being politicised, normalised and ignored in those regions looking to retain control but swiftly losing it at the same time, part of me welcomes the coming changes as both much needed and now seemingly inevitable, despite the current depth of denials and death throes now taking place. Aside from the uncertainty, it is a time to witness and be thankful you're watching from a place that is not yet being torn apart with loss of loved ones. That being said, the level of divisions in these would-be ruling regions is off the charts. Another reason I welcome the undermining and advancements taking place across the entire globe. I don't doubt the cycle will start all over again if we don't wipe ourselves out, but I think a reprieve is much needed if this farm/game/wheel or whatever you want to call humanity is to continue.
Thank you so much for this deeply personal and thoughtful post — and a very warm welcome to our community here, where you may find that there are many who will greatly empathize with what you've been experiencing and becoming so very acutely aware of.

    Very well put.

Your view is almost exactly the same as this post by Robert Rosenthal of New Jersey, who is not a member, but quoted from an outside source. If you follow the link, you may find someone who feels like you on the opposite side of the world.

In the area where I am from, when these hostilities started, the Jews went out with signs and blocked the freeway in protest. I think they may be NK but I don't know them, but there is a pretty strong sentiment about "not in my name". Because I have moved, I'm completely disconnected from anyone with serious questions or legitimate demands.

We live during a sad hyper-blend of Christianity, Judaism, and rabid nationalism, and the forum could really use contributions by those who are "inside" something, but do not agree with its "message".

At this point, it is fairly clear that the world and Iran itself have overestimated Iran’s diplomatic and military capabilities. It has also become obvious that Iran miscalculated its ability to gain strategic support. Russia and China have not provided any direct military assistance; instead, they have limited their support to weak diplomatic condemnations and very indirect aid. Russia is constrained by its war with Ukraine, and China has clearly prioritized its trade relationship with the United States. As a result, Iran finds itself in strategic global isolation.

Iran has intentionally launched missile and drone strikes on at least nine neighboring countries, and unintentionally caused spillover strikes in Azerbaijan, Syria, Turkey, and the British territory of Cyprus. Iran has targeted U.S. military assets, as well as airports, energy infrastructure, and many civilian targets. Most of these actions have backfired, eroding trust between Iran and its Gulf neighbors. The UAE and Saudi Arabia are now considering military retaliation and severing diplomatic ties because they also see that the world overestimated Iran’s military strength. These attacks represent a serious miscalculation by Iran’s leaders, and that will likely change the economic and diplomatic landscape in the Middle East for years to come.

Iran has threatened the entire Middle East with its proxy fighters. It has always implied to the region and the world that any direct action against Iran would bring devastating consequences to the Middle East. However, that has not happened, and the proxy warriors are essentially telling Tehran that it must fight its own battles.

There is little doubt that many in the world have chosen not to support Israel, but what some people fail to understand is that the majority of the world strongly opposes Iran having nuclear weapons. Even China and Russia have repeatedly stated that they want Tehran to remain within the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Yes, there are hardliners and a few actions that seem to support Iran's nuclear ambitions, but the world mostly wants peace and economic prosperity.
