US bases in Iraqi Kurdistan and Kuwait as examples of Iran's successful retaliatory strikes, saying that as a result of Iran's attacks, the US had to evacuate those two bases.

Curious...no, they don't have to be leveled to the dust in order to be considered inoperative. At some level of component destruction, or, the simple risk by their exposure and vulnerability, they could be deemed uninhabitable.

I don't think, in general, they have fared particularly well, but all we can be sure of is no objectives have been met and no one is talking to the US.

Majority of Israelis Cast Doubt on Results of New Iran Attack: Poll

A new poll by the Israeli Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) found out widespread skepticism among Israelis over results of another military attack on Iran.

The poll pointed to declining public confidence in the ability of military action to deliver strategic goals.

Forty-two percent supported launching a strike at this time, including 22% who somewhat supported the move and 20% who strongly supported it. Meanwhile, 46% opposed such action, while 12% said they were unsure.

The findings showed little change compared with January 2026, although opposition to a strike has slightly increased.

The poll also indicated broad skepticism among Israelis over the effectiveness of another military campaign against Iran.

Only 7% of respondents believed another campaign would completely dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, while 22% said it would largely achieve that goal. For other potential objectives, only a minority believed they could be fully or largely accomplished.

“Political Motives Behind Security Decisions”
Meanwhile, majority of Israelis believe the Zionist entity’s political leadership does not base national security decisions primarily on security considerations.

The survey found that 56% of respondents disagreed with the statement that “decisions made by the political leadership on national security issues are based primarily on security considerations, not political or personal ones.” This included 30% who said they somewhat disagreed and 26% who strongly disagreed. Only 39% agreed with the statement.

The results revealed a sharp political divide, with 64% of coalition supporters expressing confidence that security considerations guide government decisions, compared with just 17% among opposition voters.

55% of Jewish respondents and 60% of Arab respondents said they disagreed that national security decisions were driven primarily by security considerations.

As you can see, Likud and the Republicans are finished.

We don't bother to post the multiple atrocities that Israel commits every single day, it's just not worth it, but it's not an acceptable entity on the face of this earth.

The Saudi Arabian airport near the kingdom’s border with Yemen has been knocked out of operation after a retaliatory strike by Yemen’s Armed Forces hit the facility’s main radar, an AFP report said on Tuesday, citing a regional source with knowledge of the matter.

According to the source, the operations at the Najran Airport have been “suspended indefinitely” with the targeted radar having sustained damage.

The airport’s website listed as “unknown” the status of flights scheduled for the next few days.

Also on Tuesday, an analysis released by the international maritime intelligence firm Windward cited the latest data as showing that maritime traffic involving Saudi-linked vessels’ transit through the waterway had fallen to its lowest level on record.

The average daily number of the vessels transiting Bab el-Mandeb has fallen from around 30 to 18, representing a 22-percent decline, it said, adding that the drop among oil tankers has been even steeper standing at 39 percent.

Yemen's Armed Forces announced on Wednesday they had targeted the Saudi tanker Wafa off Yanbu in the northern Red Sea with several ballistic missiles, the eighth Saudi oil tanker struck since a naval blockade of the kingdom began on July 22.

Military spokesman Yahya Saree said the vessel was accurately hit, and that Yemeni forces had prevented 29 Saudi tankers from moving, forcing them to turn back to the Red Sea and Arabian Sea.

He said operations in the northern Red Sea would continue and expand "until all passages are closed."

Explosions and thick smoke were reported at the Jebel Ali industrial zone and port in southern Dubai early Wednesday, with Emirati officials acknowledging at least seven blasts in 20 minutes but withholding the cause, as two people were arrested for filming the incident.

Reports varied on the nature of the incident. Iraqi news outlets claimed a missile attack launched from Yemen, while Emirati media, which published no official account, confirmed hearing multiple explosions. NASA thermal imagery indicated a fire at a warehouse adjacent to the port, used for fuel storage and transfer.

Arab media said Emirati authorities detained two individuals for filming the fire. Simultaneously, explosions were reported in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, with some sources attributing the sounds to an air strike and others to missile launches from Yemeni territory.

I don't think I need to add much about how well aware the Republican Party is that it has been crushed, but it appears likely to be losing territory:

Abdul El-Sayed, a progressive public health advocate, has won the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate, overcoming more than $60m in campaign spending, mostly from pro-Israel groups, NBC has projected.

The result on Tuesday represents an enormous blow to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which led the way in the effort to defeat El-Sayed, backing his opponent, US Congresswoman Haley Stevens, with more than $30m.

El-Sayed will face former Republican Congressman Mike Rogers in November. The race is considered one of a handful of competitive Senate contests in the November midterms and could determine which party controls the chamber for the rest of President Donald Trump’s term.

If El-Sayed – who is of Egyptian descent – wins in November, he would become the first Muslim senator in US history.

Tuesday’s result in Michigan – a swing state that voted for Trump in 2024 – will have major implications for the Democrats’ policies on conflicts in the Middle East.

El-Sayed recognizes Israel’s atrocities in Gaza as a genocide and argues that money spent on conflicts that benefit ‘Israel’ should be invested in local communities in the US to address healthcare, housing and infrastructure problems.

Maya Berry, executive director of the Arab American Institute, a non-partisan advocacy group that does not endorse candidates, called El-Sayed’s victory a “big deal”.

She said voters “did not buy” the avalanche of ads that did not talk about policies and only launched negative attacks “about an Arab American Muslim man named Abdul”.

Why Israel keeps striking Gaza despite US-brokered ceasefire
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the Board of Peace roadmap, ruling out an IDF withdrawal from the enclave

Israel has continued military operations in Gaza, intensifying strikes since US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a “historic agreement” to implement the next phase of the ceasefire.

Dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed or wounded in recent days. Although Hamas accepted the proposal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ruled out withdrawing from the enclave.

What does the latest ceasefire roadmap propose?

The plan emerged from talks mediated by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye and the US under the Washington-led Board of Peace. It outlines the next phase of the October ceasefire.

Under the proposal, Hamas would begin a phased disarmament process while Israeli forces would withdraw from Gaza in stages. Civilian governance would be transferred to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), a Palestinian technocratic body, followed by reconstruction efforts and the deployment of an international stabilization force.

Trump described the proposal as a “monumental step toward lasting peace and security” and a key milestone in his broader plan for Gaza.

What do Hamas and Israel say?

The two sides remain at odds over the sequencing of the agreement’s key provisions.

Netanyahu has said Israel did not agree to the Board of Peace’s plan and will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas is completely disarmed, insisting the IDF will remain in the enclave’s so-called security zones “as long as necessary.” Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has also dismissed the roadmap as “unacceptable,” arguing military operations should continue.

Hamas has reportedly formally accepted the proposal but insists disarmament cannot take place while Israeli forces remain in Gaza and the attacks continue. The group says any handover of heavy weapons depends on a complete Israeli withdrawal, an end to hostilities, reconstruction, international guarantees and progress toward Palestinian statehood.
What’s going on in Gaza?

Israeli military operations have continued despite the ceasefire framework. Strikes reported across the enclave in recent days have pushed the number of Palestinians killed since the truce took effect to over 1,250, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The truce has enabled recovery teams to access parts of the devastated enclave, where the remains of victims killed during earlier stages of the war continue to be uncovered. This week, Palestinians held a mass funeral for more than 100 bodies recovered from the rubble of a residential block in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood.

The war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise attack on southern Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages. Israel responded with a military campaign in Gaza that has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians, according to health officials. At least 7,400 people are estimated to remain buried beneath the rubble, although the true figure is believed to be significantly higher.

Nearly Gaza’s entire population of more than two million has been displaced. Much of the enclave has been destroyed, while overcrowded tent camps, shortages of food and medical supplies, and outbreaks of infectious diseases have compounded what the UN and humanitarian organizations have described as a severe humanitarian crisis.

What do the mediators say?

The continued strikes have drawn criticism from the countries that mediated the roadmap. In a joint statement, Türkiye, Egypt, and Qatar condemned ongoing Israeli “violations” in Gaza, particularly strikes on healthcare facilities and medical infrastructure, saying they amounted to a “flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.”

The three countries urged Israel to uphold its commitments under the ceasefire agreement, warning that continued military operations constitute “a breach of the agreement” and undermine efforts to implement its second phase. They also called on the international community to exert pressure on Israel.

How could Israel’s upcoming elections shape the war?

Israel is due to hold parliamentary elections on October 27, the country’s first since the outbreak of the Gaza war. Netanyahu enters the campaign facing scrutiny over his handling of the conflict, an ongoing corruption trial and growing calls for an inquiry into the failures surrounding the October 7 attack.

Analysts say those domestic political pressures have made the US-backed roadmap politically difficult to embrace. Netanyahu’s coalition relies on far-right and ultra-Orthodox parties, some of which oppose a withdrawal from Gaza and have repeatedly called for military operations to continue until Hamas is destroyed. Accepting the proposal could jeopardize support from key coalition partners, while rejecting it risks further straining ties with Washington.

The vote also comes as the country remains engaged on multiple fronts across the region, including in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran. At the same time, settlement expansion and violence in the occupied West Bank have intensified, drawing mounting international criticism and adding to the challenges facing Netanyahu’s government.

The three countries signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement on Friday, pledging that an armed attack against any one of them would be regarded as an attack on all three. The pact is described as an effort to strengthen “collective deterrence” and expand military coordination and defense-industry cooperation.

Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of the Iranian parliament’s national security committee, has dismissed the pact and accused Riyadh of relying on foreign powers for protection.

”The Saudis should know that a paper agreement with Türkiye and Pakistan will not bring them security, just as years of one-sided ‘milking’ by the Americans did not bring them security,” he wrote on X.

”Change your policies so that you do not have to beg for security from others,” he added.

The signing comes as Saudi Arabia says it faces growing security threats stemming from the US-Israeli war on Iran, during which Tehran and Iran-aligned forces have attacked Gulf states accused of aiding Washington’s military campaign.

A Saudi official told CNN this week that the kingdom was preparing for “multiple coordinated attacks” by Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Yemen, while the Houthis have renewed strikes on Saudi territory and shipping routes.

A major attack on Saudi Arabia could now potentially draw Pakistan and Türkiye into the conflict under the new pact, widening a war both countries have so far largely sought to avoid. However, the joint statement did not specify what assistance each country would be required to provide.

The new treaty has also revived speculation about the emergence of an “Islamic NATO,” given Saudi Arabia’s major oil production and regional influence, Pakistan’s large military and nuclear arsenal, and Türkiye’s NATO membership and possession of the bloc’s second-largest army.

Saudi and Turkish officials, however, have stressed that the pact is purely defensive, is not directed against any specific country and does not amount to a military or religious bloc.

India, which has strained relations with both Pakistan and Türkiye but maintains close ties with Saudi Arabia, said it was closely monitoring the new agreement.

Experts have noted that closer cooperation could give Pakistan greater access to Turkish military technology and Saudi financial backing. However, Middle East Expert Mohammad Muddassir Quamar told RT it is too early to conclude that the pact will significantly alter the security balance in the region, as many similar pacts among Islamic nations in the past failed to produce tangible results.
