That says something about how he views his own role in relation to the population he represents.

• Censorship disguised as child protection

During the Paris meeting, Carney explicitly praised Macron for his policy of restricting social media for children under the age of sixteen. Canada announced similar legislation at the same time. On the surface, that sounds sympathetic. But critics point out that the same infrastructure that “protects children” also lays the foundation for digital identity systems, extensive online monitoring, and ultimately social credit systems such as those already operational in China. Whoever is given the authority to review online content effectively determines what citizens are allowed to see, say, and share.

The irony is sharp: Carney appears in photos next to Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's convicted accomplice, taken when he was Governor of the Bank of England. Macron began his relationship with his current wife Brigitte when he was fifteen years old and she was a 39-year-old married teacher. That these two men are now publicly presenting themselves as protectors of children online feels like a particularly bitter joke to many critics.

• Secret meetings with Soros and Obama

Adding to this, Carney was recently spotted at an unpublic meeting in Toronto with Alex Soros and Barack Obama. No press conference, no public agenda — just behind closed doors. For proponents of transparency in democracy, this is precisely the kind of “open conspiracy” they warn against: powerful figures shaping the contours of the future out of public view.

• The acceleration of the global agenda

The collaboration between Carney and Macron appears to be part of a broader strategy known as the “Great Reset”—a restructuring of the global economic and political order in which national sovereignty gives way to supranational control by institutions such as the WEF and the UN. In multiple speeches, Carney has explicitly spoken of a “new world order” and the end of the old order.

The question is no longer whether a shift is taking place. It is well underway. The question is whether citizens — in Canada, but also in Europe — will allow themselves to be swept along without ever being asked. Carney has already provided the answer: you are coming along. Conservative MP introduces magic mushroom treatment bill

A Conservative MP has introduced a bill that would allow physicians to more easily prescribe magic mushrooms to treat mental health and addiction issues.

Saskatoon-University MP Corey Tochor introduced Thomas’ Bill in the House of Commons on Tuesday.

Magic mushrooms contain hallucinogens like psilocybin and psilocin, which are illegal unless authorized by Health Canada.

If passed, Tochor’s bill would allow proponents of psilocybin molecules to access priority review, meaning a decision on the substance would be made within 180 days.

Tochor says Thomas’ Bill is named after a constituent of his who suffered from anxiety after being diagnosed with stage four cancer.

“His physician couldn’t treat his cancer because his mind was everywhere else,” Tochor told media Tuesday.

“His physician prescribed psilocybin counseling – which is the active ingredient in magic mushrooms – and with that counseling it calmed his anxiety, so that his body could fight cancer.”

Tochor says Thomas was feeling more like himself thanks to three years of psilocybin treatment until he was cut off by the government.

Under current regulations, doctors can only legally prescribe psilocybin counselling with approval from Health Canada’s Special Access Program.

“Unfortunately, those same bureaucrats that aren’t doctors at the three-year mark cut him off of his legal supply, and he had to travel to the Caribbean three times a year for his counseling, and that’s when he reached out to me,” Tochor said.

Speaking alongside Tochor was Kamaya Lawrence, a clinical researcher with a master’s in neuroscience. Lawrence strongly urged the house to pass the legislation.

“My work has brought me close to people living with chronic illness – people who are brave, exhausted, and living in the space between what medicine can do and what they still need,” she said.

“That proximity is why I’m here today. The people that this bill is designed to protect are not people waiting for better quality of life, these are often people that are waiting for the end of their lives, and far too often they’re waiting in the grip of depression, anxiety, and an existential dread that our current pharmacological toolkit was not designed to treat.”

Lawrence said conventional antidepressants can take four to six weeks to take effect – a timeframe that can rob terminal patients of the chance to find peace.

Lawrence cited a 2016 double-blind study in which 80 per cent of participants showed clinically significant decreases in depressed mood and anxiety among cancer patients.

She added that 80 per cent of participants within the study also reported increased well-being and life satisfaction.

“The evidence is replicated, it is peer-reviewed, and is published in the most rigorous clinical academic journals in the world, pointing consistently towards dignity, towards relief, and towards autonomy and choice in palliative care,” Lawrence said.

“What remains is legislation that matches the courage and the compassion the science has already demonstrated.”

Tochor said psilocybin treatment would be especially helpful in light of the upcoming expansion of medical assistance in dying (MAID), which has been met with strong opposition, including from the Conservative Party.

“It’s going to be expanded to people that have mental health issues, and I think it’s wrong that we are, right now, as a state helping patients end their life, but they are not granted access to a plant that is non-toxic, non-addictive, and that has the science behind it that shows that is effective treatment for mental health, addiction, and [PTSD],” Tochor said.

Josh Veinotte is a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) who developed post-traumatic stress disorder in 2006 following his first combat tour in Afghanistan.

Veinotte says he took prescribed medication and went to therapy but nothing seemed to work, eventually releasing from the CAF in 2016.

After nearly five years of continuing to try to manage his PTSD, Veinotte says he decided to engage in psilocybin-assisted therapy following conversations with clinicians and extensive research.

“For the fist time in nearly 15 years, I felt peace,” he told media.

“I was able to finally integrate and solidify everything I’d learned through the years of psychotherapy. It didn’t erase my trauma, it changed my relationship with it. But the real value is not in the medicine alone. The preparation therapy beforehand and the support during and after treatment are equally important.”

Veinotte added that it was also important to work with trained professionals and receive support during and after treatment.

A new report from TD Economics warns that Canada is losing its highest-skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and STEM graduates to the United States through a slow, largely invisible syphoning—calling the phenomenon a “silent brain drain.” The crisis, it argues, is less about who Canada can attract than who it fails to keep.

Much of the outflow never registers in Statistics Canada’s emigration data because it occurs through U.S. employer-sponsored work visas—temporary and semi-permanent pathways that conventional brain drain metrics simply don’t capture. Of the partial data Statistics Canada was able to retrieve, the agency determined that, in 2023, 18,590 Canadian residents emigrated to the U.S. permanently, with 30 percent of those people not being born in Canada.

Despite net migration to the U.S. lowering in recent years, the trend of top talent—which helps drive GDP growth—leaving Canada has not.

“Canada is not hollowing out; it is spilling out at the top,” the TD report states. “Absent progress on this front, Canada will continue to be a feeder system for the U.S. innovation economy.”

Canada doesn’t have trouble attracting top talent for education—it has difficulty anchoring the highest-performing immigrants and graduates to stay. By 2024, foreign-born Canadian citizens accounted for about 60 percent of Canadian applicants for U.S. labour certification. Among Canadian-born students at top universities, exit rates at the top of the skill distribution are roughly double those at the bottom.

The TD report cites a 2025 report from Signal49 Research, which found that within 25 years, immigrants to Canada with higher education had emigrated out of the country at alarming rates: 34 percent of those with doctorates, 32 percent holding master’s (or some graduate), and 24 percent of those with bachelor’s degrees.

The TD report found the cumulative effect means Canada struggles to grow GDP through innovation. “Talent loss compounds these weaknesses. High skill exits reduce managerial capacity, entrepreneurship, and knowledge spillovers,” the report concludes. “Over time, this helps explain why sustaining Canada’s living standards has a growing reliance on population growth rather than productivity growth.”

Why Canada’s business structure pushes talent out
The TD report found that another critical issue is the lack of medium-sized businesses capable of hiring and retaining top talent. In Canada, fewer than 3,500 large businesses account for 4.5 million employees—roughly 34 percent of the entire workforce. In the U.S., only 12 percent of employees work for large businesses, while 57 percent work for small businesses, and 25 percent for medium-sized companies. The hyperscalers and high-growth SMEs that anchor ambitious talent are far more common south of the border.

The report’s co-author and TD Economics managing director Francis Fong told The Hub that the missing middle is not purely a tax problem. “Creating the incentive for Canadian firms to grow and remain in Canada requires not just addressing high personal marginal rates and the gap between small business rates and the general corporate income tax rate, but also fixing the relative lack of venture capital, poor commercialization of R&D done at the post-secondary level, and the high regulatory burden.”

C.D. Howe Institute vice president Alexandre Laurin agreed that the tax architecture “disincentivizes” growth. He told The Hub that lowering the general corporate rate from 15 to 10 percent would be a good start in making Canada competitive again.

From its inception, Zionism has been a violent, colonial ideology. The State of Israel, founded through decades of Zionist migration and anti-Palestinian violence, is a perfect distillation of Zionism, not a departure from it. Zionism is Israel’s state ideology.

In the 78 years since Israel’s creation, which was finalized in an organized and systemic ethnic cleansing campaign, Israel has terrorized its neighbours, swallowed up Palestinian land and devoured its inhabitants, and is committing a genocide to destroy the lives of those who remain. Israel is an explicitly Jewish supremacist state, and perhaps the only one left in the world where supremacy is openly, proudly, and formally enshrined in law, and expanding in its scope.

There’s a range of opinions within Israel’s political leadership, but all factions believe in supremacy enforced through some level of violence. In short: Zionism is a hateful ideology guiding a state that has committed the worst crimes of the 21st century in its name.

That Zionism is a state ideology doesn’t make it less hateful than if it were relegated to the fringes. Instead, it just means it has succeeded to the fullest extent. This is undoubtedly true in Israel. It’s also true in Canada in a different way: Zionism has achieved more explicit, mainstream support than any other openly supremacist movement at this point in time.

Zionism And Jewish Canadians

Zionism is so rampant in Canada’s Jewish community that it has effectively become more important than Judaism, though many, if not most, Jewish Canadians say the two are actually one. Many anti-Zionists dispute this assertion in theological terms, but I don’t care about these debates, in the same way that theological schisms in Christianity are of no interest to me outside of the odd late-night Wikipedia search.

What I am interested in, however, is examining how much of the community falls on each side. By this measure, it’s evident that anti-Zionists are losing the battle. Nearly three years of genocide, involving some of the most depraved acts of violence and cruelty witnessed this century, has reduced the support Israel receives globally, with a recent poll finding it to be the “world’s most disliked country.” Mass support for Israel among Jewish Canadians, however, has persisted.

An assortment of polling of Jewish Canadians conducted between February 2024 and November 2025 has found:
* 94 per cent “support the existence of Israel as a Jewish state”;
* 84 per cent are “emotionally attached to Israel,” the highest level since the survey began in 2018;
* 71 per cent don’t believe believe Israel is committing genocide;
* 64 per cent believe it’s antisemitic to say Israel is committing genocide;
* 61 per cent oppose an arms embargo on Israel;
* 55 per cent categorize Israel’s actions in Gaza as either self-defence (34 per cent) or hostage return (21 per cent), compared to 24 per cent as either war crimes (10 per cent), ethnic cleansing (4 per cent), or genocide (10 per cent);
* 53 per cent disagree with the claim that “Canada should do more to protect civilians in Gaza”;
* 48 per cent (a plurality) believe Hamas is to blame for starvation in Gaza, while just 17 per cent blame Israel — another 13 per cent believe there was no famine or even widespread hunger;
* 1 per cent identify as anti-Zionists.

The survey that found 94 per cent effectively support Jewish supremacy in Israel also found that “only” 51 per cent explicitly identified as Zionists, which led some anti-Zionists to declare victory. They were wrong to do so. As I quipped in response to reporting on the survey: “‘Poll: Vast majority of Canadian whites say Canada has right to exist as a white state, but half don’t identify as racists.’”

In addition, the community:
* is represented by and made up of explicitly Zionist organizations, from synagogues, to schools, to camps, to community groups;
* is the largest sender of charitable donations from Canada to Israel (at least $1.7 billion in donations were sent from 2018 to 2024, and an examination of contributors per year reveals them to overwhelmingly be Jewish charities);
* supplies a stream of members as soldiers willing to die and kill for the Jewish supremacist State of Israel, a pipeline unlike any other that exists among Canada’s hundreds of demographic groups.

In May, nearly three years into the genocide, an estimated record-breaking 60,000 people marched in Toronto’s annual pro-Israel walk. I view this with the same sort of scorn as the 1939 Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden organized by the German American Bund, which drew more than 20,000 people.

One difference does stick out, though: unlike any other genocide before it, including the Holocaust, the Gaza genocide has been live-streamed since day one and broadcast to all of us. This hasn’t shattered Jewish Canadian support for Israel. In fact, it has strengthened the support and emotional attachment of many, as seen in the open radicalization of some prominent Jewish figures.

Zionism And The Broader Establishment

It’s clear Zionism has wide support among Jewish Canadians, to an extent unrivalled by other communities relative to whatever form of extremism and supremacy may exist among them. ISIS, for example, was broadly reviled by Muslims globally, and they fought, killed, and died to defeat it.

But this level of support for Zionism among Jewish Canadians isn’t enough to call it the most successful hate movement in Canada. That claim becomes justified upon examining how Zionism is treated by Canada’s elite in politics, media and civil society.

In June 2025, Prime Minister Mark Carney called for the establishment of a “Zionist, if you will, Palestinian state,” which is about the same as urging German Jews be ruled by a new Nazi government after the Holocaust.

In March 2025, then-prime minister Justin Trudeau said, “No one in Canada should ever be afraid to call themselves a Zionist. I am a Zionist.”

Pierre Poilievre, the leader of Canada’s opposition party, said in an October 2024 statement: “We won’t bow to the radical, woke, anti-Zionist Jew haters. [...] We unapologetically stand with Israel through fire and water.” The party’s deputy leader has explicitly identified as a Zionist.

The federal government, seven provinces and at least 20 towns and cities have adopted the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which, according to a federal handbook, classifies opposition to Zionism as antisemitism.

A Senate study released in December 2024 included among its recommendations that “it is unacceptable in Canadian society to target Zionists or to deny them fair and equitable access to public spaces for the sole reason that they are Zionists,” effectively calling for the treatment of Zionism, a political ideology, as a protected category.

This framing has also been pushed in lawsuits launched by Jewish students against universities and backed by major Jewish community organizations. The editor-in-chief of the National Post, the flagship publication of Canada’s largest newspaper chain, stated in a 2024 email to subscribers: “I feel privileged to be editor-in-chief of the National Post right now, leading a paper that has been Zionist in its commentary since it was founded 25 years ago.”

The Globe and Mail, Canada’s only other national newspaper, recently published an article from the editorial board arguing that Carney should have declared himself to be a Zionist in a speech he gave at a Toronto synagogue.
A co-founder and former head of an organization dedicated to combating hate groups has described themselves as a Zionist and written that Zionism is essential to Jewish identity.

So, to sum it up...

Zionism is not condemned by those in power; it’s openly supported. Prominent Zionists feel no pressure to conceal their ideology in the way proponents of supremacy usually do; they are encouraged to share it, and applauded when they do so.

Zionists aren’t seen as proponents of hate; they’re treated as a victimized group to be protected by limiting the freedoms of others. Jewish Canadians aren’t expected to condemn Zionism or Israel in the way Muslims were for extremist forms of Islam; non-Jewish Canadians are expected to support or at least not oppose Zionism because it’s positioned as an essential part of Jewish identity.

If another hate movement took over almost an entire community, it would be treated as a serious problem; Zionism is often defended precisely because it’s so widespread among Jewish Canadians.

The past three years have increasingly turned Canadians against Israel. This has resulted in those in power using increasingly heavy-handed attempts, many of them successful, to protect Zionism.

Zionism is on the attack, not retreat.
Zionists are coming for any and all of us willing to oppose their ideology.

Glueing your hands to the road to stop traffic or destroying museum paintings to bring attention to "Climate Change" seems like an act of insanity against these fires.

B.C. journalist, harassed by ‘cult-like’ China protest group, wins defamation payout

The crowds of protesters gathered outside Gao Bing Chen’s home on a cul-de-sac in Surrey, B.C., for 11 weeks, rain or shine.



The group of up to 60 people distributed pamphlets describing their baseless claims that the journalist and commentator was a traitor and an agent of China.

They played funeral music outside Gao’s house, upsetting his wife, young daughter and mother-in-law, and livestreamed the protests around the world, where they were watched by up to 100,000 people.

They harassed his wife and told her to get a divorce.

Two of them beat up a friend of Gao’s outside the home, resulting in assault convictions.

Now, six years after his ordeal began, Gao has been awarded $275,000 in defamation damages from one of his tormentors, Yun Fei Zhu.


“Justice might be delayed, but it will never come too late,” said Gao in an interview in Mandarin on Monday.

“This is likely the first case in Canada where protesters managed to move cyberbullying directly from the internet to my doorstep, livestreaming for five hours a day for 77 consecutive days. If I were not tough enough, I might have lost my mind already.”

Last week’s ruling says Gao suffered “severe distress” from the defamatory comments, forcing him to consider moving his family out of Canada entirely.

The harassment stemmed from Gao’s criticism of exiled Chinese businessman and convicted fraudster Guo Wengui, who had set up a project called the New Federal State of China with Steve Bannon, the former adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump.


It was presented as a political movement to overthrow the Chinese Communist Party, and had a presence in Vancouver and Toronto, but the B.C. Supreme Court defamation ruling says critics regarded Guo and the New Federal State of China as “unreliable, conspiratorial and cult‑like.”

Gao was himself a critic of China’s government, testifying that he was well known in the Chinese Canadian community “as a pro‑democracy activist and commentator.” But the trouble began when he took issue with Guo’s movement.

Zhu, who lives in White Rock, B.C., livestreamed the protests that ensued outside Gao’s home for weeks, five hours a day. They began on Sept. 15, 2020.


“In the course of those livestreams, Gao was called many things, including a spy whose hands were covered in the blood of democracy activists. There is no evidence to suggest any of that is true,” says the ruling by Justice Richard Hewson.

While Gao said the ruling brought him tears and relief, it could not undo the harm to him, his family and their neighbours.

Zhu is described in the ruling as a freelance handyman and goldsmith who operates a YouTube channel about events of interest in the Chinese-Canadian community.

He “does not appear to be a man of means,” the ruling notes, adding that paying the defamation award will be a considerable hardship.

But the impact on Gao was extreme.

“His standing in the Chinese-Canadian community was destroyed,” the ruling says. “He is no longer able to participate in the community in the ways and to nearly the extent that he had in the past. He deserves to have his reputation vindicated.”


Hewson awarded $250,000 in general damages, plus $25,000 in aggravated damages.

Gao said the accusations against him outlined in the pamphlets, which were also distributed to neighbours, were all nonsense.

“These protesters tried to cancel me from my neighbourhood, my family, my community,” said Gao.


“Every time my wife tried to leave home, they would approach her, asking her to ‘hurry up and file a divorce,’ saying she shouldn’t have married a spy from the Chinese Communist Party and if she didn’t do it, our marriage would fail.”

When the protests started up again in 2023, Gao briefly left Canada, hoping his family would be left in peace.

“There were clear allegations of criminal conduct, including treason, all of which were made without any investigation of the truth,” Hewson’s ruling says.

“(Gao) knew they were being extensively circulated. He considered moving his family out of the area and perhaps leaving his home in Canada entirely.”

The ruling says Zhu admitted that in 2024 and 2025 he continued to make similar statements about Gao.

Zhu could not immediately be reached for comment.

As for Guo, he was sentenced to 30 years in a U.S. jail for fraud in July.

Judge Analisa Torres in the Southern District of New York said Guo “preyed on those seeking to bring democracy to China,” taking their money so he could live lavishly, saying he had called upon supporters “to harass and intimidate those who dare to speak out against him.”


Although he is relieved, Gao said he’s still haunted by the months-long protest.

“I am hoping to move on, but it’s hard. The fear and trauma lingers,” he said.
