Back in the early 1980s when I was in college, I had a class taught by a Black professor who was born and raised in South Africa. One day while I visiting his office he told me that Apartheid was totally misreported by the American media.
Being that he was Black and he was from South Africa, he gave me a different take on Apartheid.
He said that the way native South African Blacks and immigrant Whites lived caused a culture clash almost identical to how American Indians’ culture clashed with White settlers’ culture.
The separation was not because of “racism” but the because of the different cultures.
I was informed that most native South African Blacks traditionally lived a hunter-gatherer lifestyle. The separation was more like that of American Indian Reservations,

Say a Black man gets a job at a White man’s factory. The Black man works for a couple of weeks, gets paid and then doesn’t report for work for a couple of months.
When the Black man comes back the White man’s factory the owner asks the Black man why he hasn’t shown up for work for a couple of months.
The Black man answers “After you paid me I still had enough money to live on for a couple of months and didn’t need to come back to work until now. I’m out of money.”
My Black professor explained that in the hunter-gatherer culture, you only forage for food, and hunt when you need to, and you don’t hunt if you have enough food.
He also explained that in the White culture, you work even if you have food because culturally you have to store up food for the coming winter.
Whites works to fulfill contracts and work even when they have enough, while the native South African Blacks have a hard time understanding that because their culture is so different. So that was the real cause of Apartheid.

I had a hairdresser in late 80s and she was from South Africa. We started talking about it and she said that
people in the West have no idea what goes on over there, that the media is presenting it completely different. I was young so I had never realized how much the media lied.

This opinion is warped and inaccurate. White people are still living and thriving in South Africa, including the majority of Afrikaans-speaking people classified as white. South Africa still has the largest population classified as white on the continent.
I thought you didn't respond to the brainwashed you were projecting, right. Because you know you can't call me racist.
As usual your trying to claim another white person here being Leon Lotz personal experience as a Afrikaan is a lie. He is 100% genuine his grieving is real, but because he is a white christian he doesn't fit your description of a victim.
Your message is always the same no matter where you post and that is muslims, blacks and arabs are always victims and never the perpetrators and also white people are to blame for every ill in the world.
In reality time and again the most persecuted people in the world are christians and in South Africa, " Afrikaans whom are christian ".
I don't see anyone rushing to go live in South Africa but I do see thousands of Afrikaans fleeing your country every year due to persecution by the blacks.
Did you mention Australia, I live in Sydney and in my area we have for example people from Sudan, Zimbabwe, Kenyan, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal and another 20 different countries from Asia and South America.
I know personally two young ladies one from Kenya and the other from Zimbabwe whom are university students one is study to be a geologist the other is going for her masters degree in business.
So I speak from experience here.
With all the interactions I have had with these different people whom are muslim, christian, buddhist and another 20 different religions the one thing they have in common is that they " love Australia and want to stay here ".
And why? Because here they are welcomed, free from persecution and safe and have opportunity to reach their full potential.
Yes we all get along here in Australia despite our very different backgrounds.
Another Zimbabwe couple I know husband and wife whom are both nurses work here for six months then go back to Zimbabwe the other six months of the year to work on and grow their farm eventually they want to go back permanently to Zimbabwe and run their farm full time. The farm that they bought with monies from working here in Australia.
So you might want to take a leaf out of that book and apply it to your country. That is stop play the victim and focus on fixing South Africa it would be more productive.
Below the inconvenient truth, a reminder of the ugly face of racism in South Africa that you are conveniently forgetting, that is being pushed by Julius Malema and cheered on by tens of thousands of black South Africans. I wonder how many acted on his prompting and still do to this day.
