    London School of Economics repository: THE FABIAN SOCIETY ARCHIVE

    This will come as no surprise of course, but, they list a directory of resources that I think you'd need to approach them direct to get access to in some instances. However there are links to some digital records.

    Listed through this link: https://digital.library.lse.ac.uk/co...collections/16

    Example: https://digital.library.lse.ac.uk/Do...911-1916/84231

    A cursory glance suggests that each page of the above example document is an image file; it'd constitute a laborious process perhaps lasting a couple hours to download the collection.

    Our Avalon library repository is a little 'thin' on volume at present but what's there has some good value, for those interested.

    Actually, there is a Full Item Download option which I've just used so very much curtailing the time to gather these. Splendid

    HISTORY OF THE FABIAN SOCIETY

    As described by the London School of Economics (LSE) via their website:
    The Fabian Society was founded on 4 January 1884 by Edward Pease and his friends, who wanted to found a "Fellowship of the New Life". The name 'Fabian Society' was derived from that of Quintus Fabius Cunctator, whose policy of holding his forces in reserve until the optimum moment for attack was considered worthy of emulation. The society's aim was "to help on the reconstruction of society in accordance with the highest moral possibilities".

    This was to be achieved by holding meetings to read papers, hear reports on current political matters and discuss social problems; by delegating members to attend other meetings held to discuss social subjects, to attempt to disseminate their own views at such meetings and to report back to the society on the outcome; and by collecting articles concerning social movements and needs from contemporary literature as a source of factual information.

    The Society's early members included George Bernard Shaw, Sidney and Beatrice Webb, Emmeline Pankhurst and H G Wells. Soon after its foundation the society established the 'Fabian News' in order to keep members informed of what was going on in the society. This was later followed by the 'Fabian Quarterly' and the 'Fabian Journal'.

    A publishing firm called Palm and Pine was established in 1938. This was originally independent of the society, but became Fabian Publications Ltd in 1942. It published Society literature until it was dissolved fourteen years later. The society also spread its message by organising public lectures, conferences and various schools. The Fabian Society is the oldest socialist organisation in Britain, but does not itself issue policy statements or put forward candidates for election to local or national government. Therefore, the society became affiliated to the Labour Party, although it also collaborated with the Independent Labour Party on specific projects.

    From 1949 onwards, it became customary for the Fabian Society to hold a tea meeting at the Labour Party Conference, at which guests were addressed by a leading Fabian politician. There have been a number of special interest groups within the society, and these produced their own research and publications. When women's suffrage was a burning issue, a separate Women's Group was established. Similarly, the Fabian Nursery was set up in response to a perceived need to encourage the younger members of the society.

    The society has also absorbed a number of organisations that were established independently of it. The New Fabian Research Bureau was set up by G.D.H. Cole with the support of Arthur Henderson as a separate organisation. It developed its own methods of research and propaganda and became much more effective than the original society. After eight years the Fabian Society and the New Fabian Research Bureau amalgamated. However the Fabian Society took on many of the ideas and methods of the New Fabian Research Bureau and these continue to influence it. The Fabian Colonial Bureau also functioned as a separate organisation from the Fabian Society.

    The Fabian Society made it an annual grant which was later augmented by the TUC and the Labour Party. The bureau acted as a clearing house for information on colonial affairs and became a pressure group acting for colonial peoples. The bureau was renamed the Commonwealth Bureau in 1958.

    In 1963 it was amalgamated with the International Bureau and a few years later absorbed back into the main society. The Fabian International Bureau was set up along the same lines as the Colonial Bureau. The aim of the bureau was the exchange of views on socialist subjects and the future of Europe after the war. After 1945 the main interest of the Bureau was the part that Britain should play in Europe, Anglo-American and Anglo-Soviet relations.

    During the 1960s they widened their scope to include defence, international agreements, the Common Market, aid to developing countries and the Labour Parties foreign policy. The Home Research Committee was set up in 1943 to co-ordinate the committees and sub-committees working on social, economic and political issues in Britain. The committee produced reports, pamphlets and submitted evidence to Royal Commissions. They also distributed detailed questionnaires to members on these issues.

    The Fabian Society continues to influence political thought in the UK. In the 1990s the society was a major influence in the modernisation of the Labour Party. Its report on the constitution of the Party was instrumental in the introduction of 'one member one vote' and made the original recommendation for the replacement of Clause IV. Since the 1997 general election there have been around 200 Fabian MPs in the Commons, amongst whom number nearly the entire Cabinet, including Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Robin Cook, Jack Straw, David Blunkett and Clare Short. For a more extensive history of the Fabian Society, see Pugh and Mackesy's catalogue of the papers.

    Yes, those preceding posts are why I say it is insidiously interwoven with the LSE.

    The only point I would make is that its founding members were a think tank for that brand new thing, socialism; a political discussion about what "progress" might be. Therefor some of the founders and persons like Mr. Wells did not stick with it or did not share in what it came to be. That is because it became I guess what you could call a lobby internally to the London School of Economics. In turn, this is a science of numbers and abstract or imaginary human beings, rather than the economics of stuff and actual people.

    What happened was a new and rather artificial alliance, the Entente, followed by the destruction of its number one competitor, the Bank of Austria. Instead, you got the coalescence of several German banks into a national system, which the U. S. Fed is a copy of.

    One of the panel in the video I posted previously, Joseph Robertson, has written a great post on Substack, which is partially copied below:.

    The Fabian Shadow: How a 140-Year-Old Socialist Conspiracy Captured Britain (And How We Take It Back)
    By Joseph Robertson on Substack

    https://jrtypes.substack.com/p/the-f...how-a-140-year
    Imagine an enemy that does not declare war. An enemy that does not storm the gates but is invited into the halls of power. An enemy that wears the face of a friend, speaks the language of progress, and offers the promise of security, all while methodically placing the shackles of tyranny upon a nation. This is not the plot of a political thriller. This is the story of modern Britain.

    For 140 years, a secretive and profoundly subversive organization has been patiently executing a plan to transform a free nation into a socialist state. It has operated not through revolution, but through infiltration; not with bombs, but with pamphlets; not by seizing power, but by poisoning the wells of culture, education, and government from within. This organization is the Fabian Society, and its long march through the institutions is now complete. The government of the United Kingdom is led by its members, the bureaucracy is its army, and the collectivist state it envisioned is no longer a distant threat, but a present and suffocating reality.

    This is the story of how they won. More importantly, this is the blueprint for how we win back our country.

    The Wolf’s Disguise

    To understand the scale of the deception, one must begin with the society’s own confession. Founded in 1884 by a coterie of London intellectuals including George Bernard Shaw and Sidney and Beatrice Webb, the Fabian Society rejected the overt violence of Marxism for a more insidious strategy. They named themselves after the Roman general Fabius Maximus, the "Delayer," who defeated Hannibal not in pitched battles, but through a slow, grinding war of attrition. Their first pamphlet declared their intent: "For the right moment you must wait, as Fabius did… but when the time comes you must strike hard."

    This was a strategy of conquest, and its primary tactic was "permeation"—a deliberate plan to infuse every key institution with socialist ideas. They targeted the universities, the press, the civil service, and all political parties, seeking to change the system from within. It was, in effect, a form of intellectual guerrilla warfare designed to be so gradual as to be imperceptible.

    The most damning proof of their intent was their original coat of arms: a wolf in sheep's clothing. This was not a metaphor; it was a brazen admission of their method. The wolf was their rapacious socialist ambition; the sheepskin was the disguise of "gentle reform" used to lull the public into a false sense of security. The society later adopted the image of a tortoise, retaining the symbolism of their slow march while shedding the explicit confession of their predatory nature.

    The founders’ ultimate vision was not benign. George Bernard Shaw, the celebrated playwright, was a radical eugenicist who openly admired the dictators of Europe. He praised Mussolini as "the right kind of tyrant" and, after meeting Stalin, declared of the Soviet regime, "I have seen all the 'terrors' and I was terribly pleased by them". His ideology reached its horrifying conclusion when he wrote that "we must exterminate the sort of people who do not fit in" to a planned civilization.

    The Webbs, the master strategists of the movement, followed the same trajectory. After decades of shaping the British left, their disillusionment with democracy led them to embrace the totalitarianism of the Soviet Union. Their 1935 book, Soviet Communism: A New Civilisation?, was a wholesale endorsement of the Stalinist state, revealing the iron fist that had always been waiting inside the velvet glove of Fabianism.

    The Conquest of a Nation

    The Fabian strategy was ruthlessly effective. While their opponents looked for a frontal assault that never came, the Fabians quietly seized control of the commanding heights of British society.

    Their first great victory was the creation of the Labour Party. The party was not a grassroots movement the Fabians merely influenced; it was an entity they were instrumental in creating to serve as the political vehicle for their agenda. The proof is written in Labour’s DNA. Sidney Webb authored the party's original 1918 constitution, including the infamous Clause IV, which committed the party to the "common ownership of the means of production"—the core tenet of socialism.

    Their second victory was the creation of an intellectual engine to legitimize their ideology. The London School of Economics (LSE) was founded in 1895 with a bequest left to the Fabian Society for the explicit purpose of "propaganda and other purposes of the said Society and its Socialism." The LSE was designed to launder radical political goals through the wash of academic rigor, transforming partisan objectives into "expert" social science. It became the primary training ground for the administrative class—the civil servants, economists, and planners—who would build and manage the future socialist state.

    With their political and intellectual arms in place, the Fabians began to implement their blueprint. The pillars of the modern British welfare state are the direct outcomes of their long-term planning. The National Health Service, the national minimum wage, and the abolition of hereditary peerages were all core components of their vision, lobbied for decades before they became reality. Most critically, they seized control of the education system. The 1902 Education Act, which nationalized education in England, was based directly on a model outlined by Sidney Webb in a Fabian tract.

    Each new program, from healthcare to education, massively expanded the size and scope of the state, creating vast new bureaucracies and fostering a culture of dependency. The welfare state was not a safety net; it was the scaffolding for a new, collectivist social order.

    That's a neat piece there

    Not Fabian specific what follows, I admit, but provides a little more here on the background to Mussolini, from Richard Werner...

    ~~~~~~
    As my readers know, the fascist leader in Italy was a British agent.
    "Fascism" was created in London: Simultaneous new parties and movements across Europe, speech writers, uniform designers, media campaigns after Europe had been devastated by world war I while Britain had their agents everywhere. There was obvious British involvement in the fascist takeovers in Spain, Portugal. Hitler was likely recruited in 1913 when he spent almost a year in Britain with his British in-laws. See the book by Bridget Hitler. Hence his astonishing Anglophilia. And hence Dunkirk. Can't end the second world war before it really got going, and without doing his main job.
    That was to make war on Russia, just like the job of today's puppets running Germany for the same type of forces.
    ~~~~~

    From Rina Lu:
    Italy's Mussolini earned $12,000 a week as WWI agent for Britain.

    Wait, what?

    Yep, he was a British agent in 1917, five years before he came to power.

    Britain's spy chief in Rome, Samuel Hoare, needed someone to keep Italy in the war. His pick: a hot-headed newspaper editor named Benito Mussolini. £100 a week, for at least a year. The future fascist dictator, on the British payroll.

    And what did London buy? War propaganda in Mussolini’s paper. Plus army veterans, ready to “persuade” peace protesters in Milan to stay home. So Britain was paying a man to have people who wanted peace beaten up. Blackshirts before the blackshirts, on a British budget. And the money itself? The historian who found the payments thinks a good chunk went on Mussolini’s mistresses. No receipts, he admits. But Il Duce was famous for them.

    The war ends. The money keeps coming. May 1921: the government's own man in Milan reports that the banks are bankrolling the fascists with "fairly substantial sums." Industrialists and shopkeepers chip in too. Paid straight from the top, with no trace in the books. October 1922: Mussolini runs Italy.

    Then Wall Street shows up. 1924: an American oil company, Sinclair, gets a deal to develop Italy's oil. 1925: J.P. Morgan, the most powerful bank in America, gets a cable from Rome. Italy wants $50 million. Mussolini's government will guarantee it. And if Italy can't pay, it ships gold.

    Mussolini asks for more. Washington's answer: no American money until you settle your war debts. So Italy settles on November 14, 1925. Four days later J.P. Morgan signs a $100 million loan for Mussolini's government at 7%. Two days after that, Mussolini's finance minister writes to thank the bankers "In behalf of Prime Minister Mussolini." The debt deal opened the door, and Morgan walked straight through it.

    Now the absurd part, straight from the Congressional Record. Italy tells the US it can barely afford $5 million a year on its war debt. The same Italy spent $179 million on its army the year before. And the same Italy is somehow good for $100 million from J.P. Morgan. Congressman Victor Berger: "It will simply make it possible for Mr. Morgan to lend Mussolini $100,000,000 or $200,000,000, which he will use for more militarism." To make that loan possible, he said, America was handing Italy a gift of almost $2 billion.

    And....

    1935. Mussolini invades Ethiopia.

    Britain’s Foreign Secretary is now Samuel Hoare, the same man whose intelligence operation had paid Mussolini £100 a week in 1917.

    Hoare then sits down with French Prime Minister Pierre Laval and works out a peace proposal that would hand Italy huge parts of Ethiopia, including most of Eastern Tigré, much of the Ogaden, and an enormous zone in the south under Italian administration.

    When the plan leaks, Britain erupts. Even supporters of the government are horrified. Hoare is forced to resign.

    So look at the timeline.

    In 1917, British intelligence paid Mussolini.

    In 1925, American finance provided massive loans to Mussolini’s Italy.

    And in 1935, the same Samuel Hoare was involved in a plan that would reward Mussolini’s invasion with huge pieces of Ethiopia.

    ~~~~~~
    An older reasonably accurate schematic, but something members here are all too aware of, so not new at all in that sense:
    Yes the pdfs are largely the case, although I might suggest some further details.
    The Italian apparatus was already created by Rockefeller and Fiat in 1900, and it is that which led to the assault on Ethiopia for no oil.
    The attachment of the term, socialism, is disingenuous, in the sense of National Socialist Workers' Party (Nazi). It's a red herring. Label for public consumption. The LSE is not socialist in this sense, but, its polar opposite, financial.
    The original use of socialism meant industrial, and in actuality the first few years of the "Fabians" was along these lines. It was about five years into it that it changed and became the vehicle of the Webbs and that sort of character. And you can see, for example, H. G. Wells trying it on, and a few years later leaving in disgust.
    UK and France are Fascist countries, with some amount of socialist programs, more than the United States, but that does not change their inner nature.
    Winston Churchill was a supreme Anti-Communist, which means a Fascist. "Communism" or "Socialism" is simply Anti-Fascism. This is the real split in human nature. One part of it wants to make money in their sleep, and dictate to the world; the other part just wants to work and get along. Obviously, that which was called the "Allies", "Democracy", etc., is Fascism, the temporary interludes of conflict with Germany and Japan being false in the ideological sense, and true as power plays that made them lynchpins of the whole thing; Germany funds Zionism, Japan funds the United States, which funds Zionism.
