Useful. I would automatically use bleach to remove mould but it is actually ineffective, so I learnt something.

Vinegar works better than bleach.

Since mould thrives in damp areas with poor ventilation, those are the underlying problem to fix.

I used to work with moulds/molds, making them and using them to make airplane parts. Mention this because I suddenly wonder why a type of fungus shares naming with a fabrication technique used by humans since … at least waffles?

Anyways, couple thoughts.

About the persistence of BM, after roof leaks have been fixed, and even when widows are left open and it seems things should dry out. I guess that water has dripped/flowed to pool where it needs extensive/prolonged forced warm (and or dry) air to dry out. Directed air, thinking using a light flexible hose. Forced air needs a blower of some sort, $, but might be worth the spending and setup. Natural convection, through maybe a larger “hose” (6 inch should still be relatively cheap), might give some effect if set up right.

Personal story, dealt with BM from trees on the next property. Dunno if it was the same mold/mould that a plumber vanquished with spray bleach in the cabinet under my sink, when he changed my sink faucet (at landlord’s direction and expense, and which solved that). That tree black moldish stuff covered my car in iirc Spring, for 3+ years, until those trees were cut down for a new build 2 years ago. It stuck, looked morbid, but I was too weak to clean it off until I rallied for to look good for a meet with cousins last year. Lots of scrubbing.

Right now that blackness is still on a tree on another neighbouring property, thankfully not as near my parking space. But now, since reading in this thread, I wonder if outside sources of black mould are a health hazard.
