I wonder how Ski's doing - it feels like ages since he checked in.

The barriers of your belief will form the bars which imprison your mind.

A little visual summary of the increase of the number of EQs within 24 hours...

    Starting with the 9.1 (8.8) culprit. white>3; grey>4; yellow>5; orange>6; red>7

Looks more like a mosquito cloud.

    Just checkin in with you.

So what's goin on? You and everyone ok?

I've been off line for a few hours, but meltdowns have been confirmed by the Japanese Gov.

I really want to stress to you to be prepared like I said, OK?

Just prepare ahead of time. If nothing happens you'll be none the wiser. But if it does, you'll love me for the rest of your life! LOL!

And remember, be absolutely serious about this but always keep your levity intact. Levity can be very important in dire circumstances. Believe me, I know!

Ski, this is really important to me because I know what I'm talking about. Because I've been there under "other" circumstances.

It is not true that Potassium iodide can damage your thyroid. The ONLY case that would be true is if one has Hasimotos. It's like Vitamin C, whatever your body doesn't use will be peed out. Order Iodoral 12.5 mgs from Amazon and eat seaweed (lots) until it comes.
Hi Nearing - I didn't specify that it was potassium iodine - I just said (because she asked what it was for) and I felt like a bit of a d*ck, but I told her. And that's what she told me - so, I was just passing that on.

It might be a heap of crap - our supermarkets sell fluoride and salvia is illegal.

So - going by our record - you're likely right.
    But, I couldn't buy any.
I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but there is a substance called Atomidine (atomic iodine) and it is digestable, when taken with water. It is also easily ordered through BAAR via the internet.

And I apologize if this has been posted earlier.

This is text BREAKING NEWS to me (From CNN):

    7:35 PM (9 Hours ago)
Quote "We are assuming that a meltdown has occurred" at a quake-damaged nuclear reactor, Japan's chief Cabinet secretary says.
    AND

    4:03 AM (2 Hours Ago)

    A must read...................

***ushima Nuclear Accident – a simple and accurate explanation

    http://bravenewclimate.com/2011/03/1...e-explanation/

Please see this excellent summary on the situation prepared by Dr Josef Oehmen, a research scientist at MIT, in Boston. He is a PhD Scientist, whose father has extensive experience in Germany’s nuclear industry.

Quote I am writing this text (Mar 12) to give you some peace of mind regarding some of the troubles in Japan, that is the safety of Japan’s nuclear reactors. Up front, the situation is serious, but under control. And this text is long! But you will know more about nuclear power plants after reading it than all journalists on this planet put together.

There was and will *not* be any significant release of radioactivity.

By “significant” I mean a level of radiation of more than what you would receive on – say – a long distance flight, or drinking a glass of beer that comes from certain areas with high levels of natural background radiation.

I have been reading every news release on the incident since the earthquake. There has not been one single (!) report that was accurate and free of errors (and part of that problem is also a weakness in the Japanese crisis communication). By “not free of errors” I do not refer to tendentious anti-nuclear journalism – that is quite normal these days. By “not free of errors” I mean blatant errors regarding physics and natural law, as well as gross misinterpretation of facts, due to an obvious lack of fundamental and basic understanding of the way nuclear reactors are build and operated. I have read a 3 page report on CNN where every single paragraph contained an error.

We will have to cover some fundamentals, before we get into what is going on.

I don't at all get the impression that's what this article is suggesting.

From my reading of it, there's a difference between a 'meltdown' and a 'core meltdown'. I'm not sure which one the Japanese spokesperson is referring to.

Even in the worst case scenario of a core meltdown, the article suggests that the radioactivity will be contained and we are not looking at another Chenobyl type disaster.

    I hope he is right.

It sounds more like a school essay, the type you write to sooth your conscience after helping to build hundreds of nuclear plants all over the world,
so how these 'kids' of yours could ever do serious damage eh

People of this calibre will try to deny radiation leaks affecting generations and imply that anyone without their qualification is unable to evaluate the risks.

Why don't more experts join in to help in the ***ushima ? All world is watching it so why those with experience don't join the team there ?

    Aren't they scared.

I just had to cancel a few jobs for next weekend that would of forced us to stay within 70km of F,,,kushima for 3 days. They were disappointed that we cancelled in which I said that I was disappointed in them trying the old (the show must go on) when you'll be encouraging thousands of people to travel very close to an unstable nuclear plant. END OF.

Just had a loud message over my area that electricity will be turned off in parts of Tokyo and other ridiculously overly lit up areas to compensate the lack of energy because of the shutting down of plants. Yes they say another explosion is expected at the plants tonight or tomorrow. Oh! and they say another huge aftershock is expected. Maybe at a similar magnitude as the *checks thread title again* 9.1.
These are rumors but they are expecting another big one.

We are in the process of packing up and readying ourselves to get out of Japan altogether.

I'm sure you guys are getting different reports than what we get here. I'm tired of listening to repeated rubbish on T.V. and so is everyone else. We just want to know whats going on inside the plant ffs.

Of course I believe the big boys are going to take full advantage of this opportunity.
    So whats more beneficial?
A heroic PHEW!! that was close - or a huge disaster (nuclear related)

So we plan on taking a flight out.. not sure where yet?

    Aikya,

I'm only quoting what I get across from CNN Text Breaking News.

From what they say it is official from the Japanese Gov.

If they finally want to report the truth I am educated enough to realize that.

There are two questions I'd like to ask you:

    1. Was (is) your man there now?

    2. When we talk about meltdown in a nuclear situation, do you really not know what we mean?

I want you to know that I truly don't want to sound condescending to you, but I feel that it really is DIRELY IMPORTANT that we don't allow ourselves to stick our heads in the sand. AND ESPECIALLY DURING THESE TIMES.

Like I said, BE PREPARED. I can guarantee you . . . You WILL Thank yourself!
