maybe if they over expose it few days maybe 2 weeks before the events ... the shock will be greater as there wont be time to research about it and no time to think about it. So they will just beg for a savior....

It's actually not that complicated ... when you want to push people in a certain direction you first tire them to the bone, get them into uncertainty and fear.
After that process is done you can start build them up again anyway way you like. It's an old trick they e.g. also use for training military officers.

People appear so tough nowadays but I can guarantee you that can be very quickly done and over with. We might be more vulnerable than we think.
Most of us are so tough because we have not that much uncertainty, feel secure and safe. But if at one moment there is no radio, no television, no internet.

it will come down to US ... how much we learnt, how tough we really are. The ones that prepared will still feel safe and secure.
