I was really just wondering who else may have read this thread from start to finish
I'm in it for the tunes!

Actually, I started reading it a few months ago, and liked what I found, so decided to chip in. It's really a quite remarkable group assembled here! I've participated in various alt forums for a decade and a half now. What one typically finds are similar patterns emerging, regardless of topic. The latest issue with Songs and the pubsters is like a deja vu in that respect -- a charismatic personality with a few word hooks comes along, a clique is formed, a club house, and then the old us vs them theme that Fred pointed out. After you've seen this a few times, it gets rather wearying, which is why this Village is such a relief -- to find caring people without chips on their shoulders who can intelligently explore a variety of pertinent topics without rancor, and relate their everyday experience in a compassionate and vulnerable manner, with lots of support and humor. Pretty rare, but much appreciated!

    Blessings to all!
Although Avalon is my first experience with a forum, I recognize this thread as remarkable and unique to the forum and the net as a whole. Me own experience is somewhat limited, as far as it goes, but me intuition says "yeah".

I'd say it's an excellent blueprint for the compassionate non-localized community in which both healing and real transformation can occur. Such a prototype can both point the way and also serve as an anchor in the midst of the looming shift we've entered. We're fortunate to have been drawn together, as I'm sure most here will agree!

My question would have been: do viruses have mirrors?
Besides, although some tunes punch holes in my allegorical aura I do not forget that, even in no-mind, the shadow stalks.......
Posted once before, but addresses your question:

Using the mind to look for reality is delusion. Not using the mind to look for reality is awareness. The mind that wants to free itself from all programs is itself a program, just as that which wants to dispel the mind virus is itself an expression of that very virus, the disease of the mind.

There is no “original” thought, nor is there any such thing as an “original” deed. Every thought that any being could possibly entertain has already been thought innumerable times over, and likewise any action. This universe of phenomena is a grain of sand on an infinite beach, and this beach is but a grain of sand in the totality of manifestation, which is itself of the same nature as last night’s dream.

Furthermore, in this so-called realm of apparent phenomena, there is nothing but delusion, which itself is utterly empty of any inherent self-nature. Upon careful inspection, some other phenomena apart from the delusion of human beings cannot be supposed nor demonstrated. Because that is so, all apparent phenomena are only delusions. There is no truth, only dreaming.

Moreover, it cannot be proven that, having removed delusion, there is no delusion. Because delusion is pure by nature, it is self-illuminating. Because that is so, all phenomena are actually perfect props in the dreamy projection of mind called self and world. Because that is so, phenomena appearing in various ways simply represent the synchronous opera of the phantom body and mind – the engaging delight of That which is dreaming all of this.

Likewise, even the apparent Awakened of the past, present, and future cannot transcend the complete purity of delusion, since it is nothing but a virtual reality, a non-binding, transient, and empty modification of consciousness itself, so when the fist is opened, what is there but empty air?

Except in the degree of sense of humor, a difference between ordinary deluded beings and the so-called Awakened cannot be distinguished by the nature of phenomena. Just as the causes and results of a dream appear individually, under the power of complete imputation, determined by one’s angle of vision, filters, memory associations, preferences, and so forth, the individual appearances of the intellect are only flowers planted in the air, consisting of nothing enduring or substantial.
Exactly so. For whatever such a statement may be. Quandary exists in understanding such, and the two (motion toward clarity) tend to happen in a conjunctive manner. I consider the use of 'tend', as there are no absolutes in a situation where perception is it's own petard. Translation and transmittance then become a core issue.

While driving to an appointment today had an inner prompting not to go. Called to see if I could change the day -no problem.
I ended up going to the farmers market to buy some raw honey and vegetables. Got in my car to leave and then felt compelled to pray.
So I sat in the parking lot, head back eyes closed praying and then 2 guides showed up and took me to another land with another sun.
What they showed me was not a big wow or some spectacular realm.... but that the old is being transformed & moving into the new and that there is a new beginning starting.
After I came back I drove up the mountain and made & ate my dinner. Then I set to pray in the way I do..... for the people, people who have asked for healing and for our earth.
One of the things that came to me during prayer was that many people do not know exactly of this new beginning of life.... this is what prompted me to post on the Solstice.

WhiteCrowBlackDear what a beautiful post.... I do share similar events in my life as you do -although I do not post most of it. Between 2006 and 2009 I lost 5 people -3 family members and 2 mentors all of them women.
I also lost a child but I was 4 months along....(many years ago) I have been so blessed and graced with so much... and each of them are such blessings in my life all of them beautiful lanterns of lights.

These days, my son generally has paint somewhere on his person, every day when I get home from work. And we are usually playing in puddles when the sun is setting, as the garden gets it's water and the old hoses make random puddles across the yard.

I contend that many of us, not just you and I, are having our here and nows mixed together like so much temper paint, on the flip side. I seem to be observing this both on the forum and in life all around. I have witnessed more psychic phenomena in the last few months than all the years previous. At the moment I am remembering Neptune in Pisces.

For me the H+N is the heart of Avalon. It's now got to the point where even my sister and best friend ask "wots happening in the village today?!"

Read Bob's post just after reading this....
The world of matter is a relative world, and an illusory one, illusory in the sense that we do not see it as it really is. The way it really is cannot be communicated verbally, but in the attempt to talk around it, eastern literature speaks repeatedly of dancing energy and transient impermanent forms.
This is strikingly similar to the picture physical reality emerging from high-energy particle physics. Buddhist literature does not speak of learning new things about reality, but about removing veils of ignorance that stand between us and what we already are.

Maybe I could add this to the conversation about the mind.
Many people operate totally from the mind, relying on it, not yet aware enough that it is merely a tool.
And that there is a higher entity, which is hidden, not as a shadow, in a shadowy world, but a real being.
This being is the passenger in the carriage, of which the coachman represents the mind.
Removing mind would mean leaving the carriage driverless, and perhaps relying on the horses to find the way.
Brought this image up before and have yet to find a better metaphor.

It's about the orderliness of everything...Tom Lescher was talking about that this week.

When the mind is used as a tool it can be maintained and used as is necessary...
silences can be used with equal ease as humour, or colloquialisms, or public lectures.
    Even planning.

Hi Ulli, just wanted to say (re the first bit in bold) I wonder how many lurk that used to post often?.... I read The Village every day and really miss taking part (I'm pretty sure I've read the whole thread at least once). I feel part of The Village but seem to have lost the what-ever-it-is to write, I think I know what it is but words don't come... I admire WCBD, Flasky, Norma and many others for their posts about their past, I can't, hence being the lurker I am. But, I'd love you all to know how much you do for those like me, peeking in, The Village is such a beautiful example of how life should really be.

My love and gratitude to every one of you.

    John
I, too, have become a lurker...stopping by when I can to send healing energy when requests appear and to linger over posts that make me think, give thanks, and laugh.

I seem to have run out of words and found myself with little to nothing left to say. Perhaps it was a feeling that many here have found their "niche"...Ulli with her knowledge of astrology and Ba'hai teachings, Astrid sharing her path of shamanism, Carmody, Modwiz, WCBD, anotherBob and so many others rich in their own knowledge of different paths...whereas I have never followed a particular path to such depths.

Such is my life. I enjoy "being", allowing things to unfold as they will moment to moment, and discovering the presents/presence along the way...following this path for a while until another reveals itself as ripe for exploring. I know a little about a lot of things...just enough to be dangerous, lol.

I may simply prefer experiences and discovery over knowledge. Or maybe I just like things to be simple.

No matter. I always return to the same place...that love is all that matters, that all traces of fear need be eliminated, that energies are rising exponentially, that it's an amazing ride I don't want to miss a minute of, and that all else is just 'gravy'. What a great time to be alive!

I may not post very often, but I feel a connectedness to all in the Village Here and Now and appreciate each and every one of you for being and sharing.

    Beautiful metaphor, Ulli.

This came to mind: 1983, "Out on a Limb," Shirley MacLaine where she lets go of the steering wheel on a winding road. That was confirmation of knowing the impossible was possible.

    Love you all.

And we love you, too, Belle. Ok, I admit the initial rules have been changed.
If I were to follow them I would again mention the noise of the river, the humming of the fridge, the fact that I feel no aches and pains at this moment....
but overall am experiencing a sense of peace and comfort that I feel everytime Anita, my weekly maid, is here and cleans house for me.

This may then get censored by another part of me that is compelled to contribute something new to the other Villagers,
so as not to bore them. After all, we have something good going here, and entertainment does factor in when it comes to unity. As does mutual support.

I think it is nice that we are discussing these issues, especially as we just yesterday passed the 400,000 views mark and I didn't even notice until now.

    Beautiful metaphor, Ulli.

This came to mind: 1983, "Out on a Limb," Shirley MacLaine where she lets go of the steering wheel on a winding road. That was confirmation of knowing the impossible was possible.
That Shirley MacLaine metaphor is a bit different altogether,
as it is designed for people who are still inside their social programming.
That's who Shirley MacLaine was trying to reach and wake up.
To introduce her ideas of letting go, and trusting higher spirit.
This is a phase everyone has to pass through...empty the old cup, before adding new wine, or coffee or whatever....

My metaphor is for those who have already connected with their spirit,
let go of parental and societal control...
and are now studying the self as is, and exploring self awareness...
so that they can learn to distinguish between body, feelings thoughts...etc.

In the end the entity studying becomes the real self, in charge, and can take over from the ego driven driver.

So they are two entirely different things and mixing them misses the point each one wants to make ...
    as there are different levels.

Talking of levels...most misunderstandings on a forum like this stem from levels being mixed up....

even two people with years of spiritual training might be talking at each other,
and yet one is still speaking with their 3 D self, trying to make a valid 3 D point,
while the other comes from stratospheric heights. So it is hard for them to be on the same page
unless each announce to the other where they are coming from.

And just a short while later their roles are reversed, they have switched positions.
Because no one is in any given dimension for long these days.
We just have to watch out where we are in the here and now, and who we are talking to.
