Back in the early 80's, while travelling through Indonesia, from Bali to up to Bangkok, I was fortunate to attend a number of performances of the Ramayana epic. I particularly enjoyed the shadow puppet versions, performed at night out in the open.

Somewhere along the way, I was told that, as a reward for helping Rama defeat Ravana, all the monkeys that sided with Hanuman were given rebirths in modern America, where they could enjoy all the sensual pleasures they craved, and get wealthy and fat.

During that time, I visited several ancient monkey temples, crawling with monkeys. It was nice to see them playing freely, rather than penned up in a zoo. When I was a kid, I used to enjoy watching the monkeys at the San Francisco Zoo, running around on Monkey Island. I sort of envied them, being able to swing around on their tails and not have to wear clothes. I have never gotten used to clothes, and I try to avoid them whenever possible.

I just saw this video in a thread from M2143.

This message is so important at this point in time. So many people who are sincerely trying to find answers and truth fall for the traps that she speaks of.
She talks about awakening and the truth that is in every one of us and that people should stop listening to people who present themselves as spiritual teachers, but are merely trying to be worshipped. I wont name names here, but there are so many of them... so many so called spiritual teachers that give you the feeling that you need things or people to get to the next level or understanding.

    Her message is powerful.
I watched this video too, as well as her first video from yesterday. Might be my age, but it was just not my "thang". She's lucky to be awake so early. Its also not that I don't agree with what she's saying, its just......

if words have power, she could use them to be a little more gentle to those still trapped.

    Humble opinion.

I dunno, my Friend -- she sounds like so many other folks who get a little hit and then feel it's their place to warn us about others who've gotten a little hit and so on and on. It's like the fellow who said that those who know don't speak, and then went on to write several books. LOL!

I think what she is doing here Waky is quite understandable where she is at. I've had realisations myself and found myself frustrated at seeing other people being misled ether intentionally or unintentionially and at the time it seemed really important to let people know. There's probably some of my posts on this forum doing that too

While we may not need teachers as such we do need to be sincere about our awakening and open to what life presents us because life will present us with the teacher that we need if we are open and sincere. An experience of awakening like this lady described is not "awakening", it is more a by-product of the awakening and all so often the ego/mind co-opts that experience and makes some kind of story out of it.

If we are open to it, one of life's teachers will knock us over the head, tell us that our ego/mind is deluding us, that "this" is not it and to keep going.

Her speech lacked a quality and richness which is there when someone speaks from realisation. I can't really explain it any more than that....but it was not powerful for me.

Concepts that she used such as not giving your power away and seeking the power within yourself and the idea that awakening to spirit is the opposing force to the mind are not how I would expect someone to describe the awakening.

One may attain this, that, or the other, but the spirit of seeking should remain the same until we draw that final breath, IMO. Then we find that we ourselves are that which was sought, and it a great joy.

No, need for the white flag Waky you are doing great. The learning process, for all of us, is all good.

I hear what you are saying about frustration with the new age teachers because I have been there too but something to watch out for this divide and conquer tactic. You are either for new age stuff or against the new age BS, just like you are either for the left of politics or the right etc, etc.

It's deliberate dividing of people into camps and I have seen people throw the baby out of the bathwater because they are being led by labels or groups.

The truth doesn't have a label nor fit in category. For our own spiritual growth if we can watch how our minds pull us into opposition into the polarities, which is duality, we can then be the awareness which is beyond it.

Awesome pics Rahkyt! I'll take the green one but in a flat black. That thing is sick! (in a good way, of course ;-)

When you are one step ahead of the crowd, you are a genius.
Two steps ahead, and you are deemed a crackpot.

I was hoping to put Rahkyt's cars to shame by posting a video about a Suzuki Alto, which is my little car here in Barbados. Unfortunately none are as good as the one I have here, and even though it is 11 years old it looks like new.
Only problem is- it has windows tinted so dark that you can't see out at nights
and I have to drive it with all windows down. I already checked with a garage how much would it cost to take off the dark plastic...I would have to sell several of my best necklaces before I can afford it. Unbelievable...worse than removing a tattoo...like, several hundred dollars.
