Well ~OF COURSE~ they have the little BMW sidecar motorcycles up there on the moon. Why wouldn't they? (shades of 'Top Secret' - apparently lots of people don't seem to get this kind of humour) (why, the film is downright unamerican! Burn them!)

I remember hearing about this film. soon I'll be able to watch it.

I'm about to throw together a bacon-pumpkin-curry soup into the crockpot. Might sound weird but I made something similar once before and it totally rocked! I can't wait till it is done ... mmmm!

1 pack of bacon - minus what gets eaten in the process - (cooked drained crumbled)
1 very large tin of pumpkin meat
    1 can stewed tomatoes chopped
    2-3 potatoes finely chopped
    1 onion finely chopped
    1-2 garlic clove finely chopped
4 cups chicken / ham broth
    1/2 tsp curry powder
    1/2 tsp garam masala
    salt and pepper
    1/4 tsp chipotle powder
    1 tablespoon lime juice
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    1 cup cream

Just through it in the crockpot except below,
Add bacon, cream, curry and garam masala near the end - bring back to full heat - not boiling.

It turned out so good I didn't even think of adding anything else.

One of the best soups I ever made - everyone went back for thirds

funny sync on the cat stories. Scooter's been gone almost a year now, and I think we're almost ready for a new one. The GF been visiting all the pet stores and websites looking for something, but thus far I have not yet found "The One". The neighborhood cats can sense my fondness and desire for their species and I am so tempted to steal one of those - just because they won't stay away anyway. Even though I forbid anyone in our family feed any of the neighbor's cats they just will not stay out of my house. It doesn't help that they both are adorably cute and very friendly. The next door neighbor's cat even greets me when I come home from work and tries to come into the house with me.

I'm a little bent on getting a Norwegian Forest Cat, but there seems to be none in this city whatsoever ...

Ernie, I was just thinking of you today. And another little sync, around the time you were posting this, I was on the deck with my cat Emily, and she had put her paw on my foot, and left it there, the first time she'd done that. That physical connection you talked about.

Love to you and Val, and Max 2.

I've spent lots of time on the deck this weekend; the days are exceedingly beautiful. Several crows were stirring up a ruckus this morning, cawing and flying from tree to tree. Stirring up benevolent energy.

Echoing what Ulli said earlier about how important our intentions are now, here's what Barbara Hand Clow said:

Choosing Your Intentions: Second Uranus/Pluto Square
    September 19, 2012
Copyright 2012 by Barbara Hand Clow
In my analysis of the first Uranus/Pluto square on June 24, 2012, I suggested we are awakening the human heart. Now in September, the field of the Uranus-Pluto squares is locked firmly in our lives like a visegrip; anybody noticing? This field is intensely creative, which causes our thoughts to manifest all around us, so we are challenged to clearly and wisely intend what we want to create. Whenever we navigate reality by means of clear intentions, we utilize quantum forces—the highly accelerated energy field that creates events based on what’s in our minds. Because more and more people have learned how to create this way, miracles are happening.

Soup sounds yum, but I'm thinking dill is not the thing to add ...

I may be wrong, but wouldn't like to see your whole batch go awry. Maybe try a pinch in a small amount of soup?

Ya I'm not 100% sold on the dill yet either .. it may work. I'll have to wait until near the end and just quick sniff between the two aromas will let me know the compatibility. My nose is the real chef in me

I also didn't have chicken broth (thought I did) so I cut a quarter pack of the bacon off to boil for a ham broth. Should still be good, with a sweet smokey aroma

Sitting on our terrace tonight, sipping coconut water and hearing the river roaring louder than ever.
Husband has been investigating the electricity lines from the main meter by the road to where the nearest buildings will go up. The decision is underground cables. Even though the distance is 100 m there are ways to do this by passing the wires through two PVC conduits, a one inch and a half inch conduit. Works out less than half the price of a two inch conduit. Is Ernie still around? One more question...which would be better, cable #2 or #4?

    Hmmm ... 230 amps (10 cabins * 20 amps/cabin + 30 amps) for 100 meters?

    Underground?

You're way over my head on that one ... I doubt that #2 or #4 gauge will come close to what you need.

See this webpage for a discussion of some similar need: http://www.selfhelpforums.com/showthread.php?t=17545

You'll want some fat wires and proper grounding.

    Hmmm ... 230 amps (10 cabins * 20 amps/cabin + 30 amps) for 100 meters?
From this table: http://www.csgnetwork.com/wiresizecalc.html, I'm getting 600 mca (copper, single phase, 120 volt) above ground. From this page: http://www.ihiconnectors.com/AWG%20wire%20sizes.htm, that 600 mca looks like 19.67 mm diameter (over 3/4"). That's a lot fatter than the 5mm to 6mm of #2 or #4 wire.

You'd be an idiot to take my word for any of this however .

Thanks, Paul. He is going to consult with one of the top people from our electric company here, as he doesn't even trust our regular electrician in this matter. I was just sharing here and now stuff....
It is so beautiful around here that overhead wires would ruin the view, hitch is why we are looking at the underground option. Purely for esthetic reasons. Those links might still come in handy, however, so thanks again.

Well, you know how it goes. Waving nerdie numbers in front of a geek is like wiggling a string in front of a cat ... guaranteed reactions .
