Stirring up the past. For me it is often a matter of opening a book. I've just caught a nasty cold almost instantly doing exactly that - I'm allergic to the microscopic fungi in paper more than 5-10 years old. I now have two problems: I'm not feeling too good, and I've got another book I can't read. This is an unavoidable everyday situation. Any suggestions anyone?

Two different actions are required here.
Solving your book dilemma is easy...just a bit of an astrological jab.

But this wouldn't be timely since you are sick, and such a jab might only make you feel worse.

The first priority is to restore your feelings of wellness.

As I am writing this a fly is spinning on its back by my window, in its final death throws.

Hello. Just want to say thanks for enriching my life and the lives of others.

While I'm not comfortable sharing a whole lot about myself on Avalon for various reasons, I appreciate all of you very much.

(For me, the Energetic Synthesis container feels like a safer and more resonant place to open up.)

Here and now I'm eating lunch at work, where I've asked to reduce my hours. Need more time to focus on spiritual activities.

Here and now I am contemplatin the dream (fragment) I had right before awakening this morning.

I was hanging out with my only openly "aware" friend (likes to talk about paranormal stuff) who I had enlisted awhile ago in my quest to identify the paranormal stuff surrounding my girlfriend. He had one UFO sighting his whole life, me-none that I can recall.

Anyway the piece of the dream was me and him talking on road out in the open somewhere, when all of a sudden I had some profound realization--I swore I had some answer I was looking for about something important...then straight ahead I saw a white oval in the sky, it morphed into some sort of solider shape, back into light oval (well defined, like cut from piece of paper, shape of disc from the side).

Well, that had been my line of thinking lately, supernatural crap (we been dealing with ill tempered spirits of some sort in the home), just a distraction from the real problem: unhealed traumas.

In line with the "space" versus communal animal train of thought, how much can you really help someone else out? When do you a draw a line when the reality that is created as a result of their not working on healing themselves becomes a lost cause? I know the stock answer is answer is "the answer lies within, listen to yourself..." and all that, but I have taken on other peoples' responsibilities on, contracts I (at least semi-) consciously agreed to.

I just worry about those with the extra programming, the trauma beyond what I can relate to, I guess I worry I wrote a check I can't cash...or worse, entered into agreement that will wind up piling problems on top of me.

I feel like I know myself, and can just figure out how to show people that, as scary a prospect finding your true self out may be, it is so worth it not just for you, but everyone else as well. Can anyone pinpoint anything someone else did to help you on your path to self-discovery?

Focus and distraction are opposite sides of the same coin.
When playing around with mental concepts one can easily be distracted, going around in circles,
So it is better to talk about real life scenarios and can learn applications that would be helpful in such.
That way the chances of distraction entering are reduced.
However if one were to find oneself in a life and death emergency a new intensity and focus kicks in.
It only depends if one's own child is being threatened by a potential predator,
or someone's house is being washed away by a landslide on the other side of the globe.
It's all a matter of proximity...how close to home, as they say.

A lot of people have told me privately that they feel uncomfortable sharing about their lives.
So I just want to stress again that no one has to reveal anything if they don't wish to.
At least not something that makes them easily identifiable.
Nor will anyone be judged for not washing their dirty linen in public. This is just not how it works.
Each personal life style is unique.

Personally I'm totally against confession, whether to a priest, a shrink, or a TV show.
The moment one's misdeeds are put out there they can stay in other's minds as thought forms, and become memories,
long after a person has made their transformation.
There is nothing positive in giving more of one's energy to something that would have been better left to disintegrate.

The healthy part of the exercise of sharing one's here and now
(especially the mundane, apparently unimportant parts) is in what happens when you define that fine line
where your public outer image begins and your private self ends.
This is nobody's business to know, but as far as self knowledge exercises go it cannot be overestimated.

I don't know about anyone else, but I get off on watching stuff like this...

Not weird ulli at all, i have stopped posting the things that have been going on with me of late,
as they have been way way weird, even by my standards.

Then i take a look at what the rest of my soul group is working on atm,
and it makes more sense. But when you just look at yourself in isolation it
can seem like you are "losing the plot". I guess we are more and more being
asked to view ourselves via the collective mind. Without the big picture, you
just have a big box full of pieces and no reference point, it's doable,
but the going is like uphill.

Now I look at the tv, and wonder how I ever was able to be so invested (emotionally!!) in this nonsense. The outcomes of my favorite teams' game determined my mood (& daily conversations), I spent all my free time looking for information and watching replays...ugh, it's amazing--can barely hold my attention at its most exciting anymore.

...well, gives me excuse to crack out on shiny screens, maybe learn something.

Heh, distractions (football game) from other peoples' distractions (even dumber tv programming my babe wants to watch, while sneaking in my favorite distraction on my phone (Internet)...sucked into reality avoiding fractal of bull**** on shiny screens...yay America!

Yeah, it does look like an uphill battle at times. Especially after what we went through recently. I see these twin processes going on side by side...strengthening our group here, and gathering around the big vision, the collective goals.
And these goals to me are obvious, they don't have anything to do any longer with sitting silently in meditation, but involve ourselves with matters that concern us all, the bigger picture, with a priority list such as abolishing poverty, educating people and making them aware of the lies they have been told, and of course stopping the rape of the planet as well as the arms race and war fare.

And if we can't do this out there in the front lines of the 3D world, then we can do it in writing, like right here on this forum, inspiring the younger ones who are still strong, and even use Shamanism to get things sorted out.

On the other hand, any injection of thoughts that want to stop me from thinking about such matters and repeatedly talk about shutting down the mind I see these as distractions, as interference, and possibly even as deliberate attempts to help the other side.
We must define who we are and what we each stand for.

Some banter and joking is still ok, as is eating, resting and sleeping. But as I have said before- to maintain a healthy balanced life and stay in top condition one needs to have the triple activity of a) work, b) play and c) rest in any given daily cycle.
And that work should perhaps be a bit more than just earning a livelihood with which to finance the next weekend shopping spree.
If the universe hears the slightest yearning to be of a higher service it comes rushing to our aid.

Reminds me of a post I made in the "What we may be here to do" thread. I obviously posted in the course of another discussion and ended up 'buried' in a conversation that the post(er) following mine actually questioned the possibility of their "hijacking" the thread.

It's okay. It happens...a little too often for my tastes, but that's just me. It's not like I was sharing anything earth-shattering...just my take on the reality we are all facing.

Reminds me of a post I made in the "What we may be here to do" thread. I obviously posted in the course of another discussion and ended up 'buried' in a conversation that the post(er) following mine actually questioned the possibility of their "hijacking" the thread.

It's okay. It happens...a little too often for my tastes, but that's just me. It's not like I was sharing anything earth-shattering...just my take on the reality we are all facing.

I have this feeling that this is quite an urgent time (must be that Saturn in Scorpio) and so it can't hurt to repeat your truth. If you feel a post of yours got lost on another thread you are always welcome to create a link to it on this thread, if you feel strongly that it should be read by a larger audience.
