Here and Now...What's Happening?

I have heard birds become really upset by quakes.
We were living next to a park in San Jose once which had mature trees in it, which were always full of birds.
And all of them squawked really loud during quakes.
Meanwhile I would just stand there and feel it and say, "see, just as I predicted...today is the Jupiter Mars Mercury line- up"...
or whatever it was I had noticed.
I don't do that anymore.... Trying to foresee events can actually bring them on.
I'm dangerous like that...which is why these days I only focus on sweetness and light.
( so no more talk of Bieber Gomez break-up either, pleaze)
Didn't feel the quake although I was awake.
A neighbor who lives less than half a km from here emailed me right away saying that it was very strong temblor, epicenter only 9 miles from us.

This is precisely why I do not do any "predictions" as I did two... one being 9/11 and the other being 7/7 and I realized I had no interest in predicting such garbage. I then found I actually liked life being surprises. I enjoyed the challenges of being able to act on what each and every now moment presents. I do not enjoy life as much when I project various futures and "plan" my responses. I find I am never able to foresee what the actual present moment presents and find what I do on the spur of the moment far more satisfying than when I plan all my strategies. Its almost as if projecting/plotting comes from a point of view that one is in battle with life... I am far happier being in relationship with life, with all that arises within my awareness. If something scary rises up and consumes my body (or any other form of my energetic emissions) so be it... as long as I am living each and every moment on my own terms.

Hope this did not cross the preaching line... I was just sharing more about the newest me.

been so far and for such long stretches from any of my close family (my wife lives in a different country),

found myself in a work situation where the owner is using me to take down his #1 (thus I will likely be a casualty in this process as well - simply because everyone is seeing their vulnerability being exposed and blaming their potential demise on me - I am well hated by all top management now - ) - being a hit man seems to run in my family (I just don't use weapons other than my own deeds)

and been so at peace with myself, the world, all the people, all life, and yes... the prospects for a future.

I wonder if anyone has dared to try to read through the ENTIRE thread? A dread-thread, if there's any, for anyone to dare to try to read through the WHOLE thread.


It would be a fascinating read, for sure, on a cold, snowy winter day with cups of of hot brew, like a cup of 1/3 coffee, 1/3 kahlua and 1/3 Irish Creme Liquor ... make that 8 cups to last, say, 100 pages of this dread thread, plus a joint, or two.


But this monster thread looks fascinating, though. Sort of a Studs Terkel of the Internet.


So what's my here 'n now?


My 5-ft-tall tomato plants finally met their first night of frost with predictable devastating results, but the tomatoes have been harvested with the green tomatoes being harvested right at sundown prior to the first frost of the season.


Cucumber plants -- sans cucumbers -- also got nailed by the frost.


But my growing winter plants -- bok choi, Swiss chard, kale, etc, -- are thriving and happy campers.


I need to expand the strawberry bed, to lay in an added layer of aviary wire, as the $&*$ gophers somehow broke into the bed, so now I have to shift the strawberries over, move out the soil, lay in a new layer of aviary wire that would go all the way to the top of the edge of the bed, then put the strawberry plants back into it. Jeez, a lot of work on account of little, furry-assed critters!


Those ##^&&$ gophers have removed SO much soil from under the aviary wire that the beds have dropped a full 6 inches, leaving only 6 inches of effective, gopher-free (well it's supposed to be gopher-free!) soil inside the bed. I'm going to have to declare war on those little critters and get rid of them, once and for all. I think that I'll rent the movie, Caddyshack, for clues of how to get rid of those little, furry-a$$ed buggers.


I love the changes of the seasons -- each change of the season has it's own particular senses that delight one's incarnate self. The fall season after the first rains is wonderful with the cool air; the re-moistened ground; the little winter weeds popping up in the fields; the falling, colorful leaves; the up-tempo of the winds and the arrivals of the initial storms of the fall season.

He recognized the universal in the particular of these peoples lives and as such treated everybody with the reverence and respect that most human beings deserve to be shown, a sentiment and value system we would all do well to emulate.

Hi All...asking for a little help here and now...

I've been sick for the past two weeks...started with a cold, sore throat, then went to my chest...felt a bit better for a couple of days then woke up Friday morning feeling like I had the flu...slept all day except for the two times I needed water.

Today as I was coughing up that nasty stuff from my lungs, it tasted like mushrooms...fungal infection? So I have had a cup of pau d'arco and echinasea tea and plan to head out for some oil of oregano.

The big problem is that I haven't been able to eat much for the past week...so nauseaus...almost a detox kind of nausea.

I'm already way underweight and can't afford to lose anymore...one cup of veg broth and 1-1/2 crackers in three days is all I've been able to keep down.

It has been many years since I've even had a cold...and this is just knocking me out!

Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.

I was down for 5-7 days a couple of weeks ago. Sounds like the same thing, minus the nausea. With the exception of measles, chicken pox and poison ivy and an occasional migraine, I never get sick.

I didn't care about my holistic ideology. I pumped myself with MyQuil, DayQuil, Advil and Chloraseptic Lozenges. When my body said sleep, I did. As long as I was coughing up the chunks, I considered that a good thing. The medicine and water helped. My Auntie Eileen died the week before, so I probably got it from the coughers. (grrr)

As for the underweight and losing more, I can't speak to that. (sigh) So this is where the disclaimer comes in: you may want to see a doctor. (ugg) Full disclosure - I considered it, but I figured he'd give me antibiotics and it may shave a couple of days off the recoup.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Sleep, sleep, sleep. And I'll send Light Light Light.

Hi belle,

The best thing I can think of is homemade chicken broth; it is both nutritios and helps the body deal with the coughing.

Get someone to boil a whole organic chicken for a couple of hours, lift the chicken out, squeeze the meat and add the juices to the broth. Continue to boil for a while to reduce the broth.

Another suggestion: St Johns Wort oil on your chest will help with the coughing.

Hey Belle,

I woke up in the middle of the night with all manner of sinus nastiness, I got up and poured just a little alka thyme on a wash rag and went back to bed, and woke up this morning completely clear. The last time I came down with a cold, it took me a few days to look up the Cayce remedies for cold and flu, and so it took a few days to recover fully once I started treating with the alka thyme, gargling and breathing off of the cloth.

Thanks, Rocky. More concerned about the weight loss...I'm 5'3" and weighed 94lbs. about a month ago...don't dare to weigh myself now, it could be truly frightening.

Whatever this is, it seems to be going around the area...noticeably more among the people with the strongest immune systems. Three friends down with it...2 even longer than I. Have used colloidal silver since it dropped to my lungs. I tend to believe we are our own best doctors...but thanks for the suggestion, Paula. And thanks for the Light, Light, Light!
