Going to the city today, M's therapy. I leave early and get back to pick up kids from school, barely. I will, today, turn back around and take Little One to his Mommy's for the weekend. Things are ever so slowly progressing there. He is excited, and misses his mom and his "dad." That one won't come out of my mouth, I find it repulsive at this point. I'm working on it. Though excited, he does tend to act out when visits get close. Last night I had to walk out of the house to keep from losing my temper, but I didn't make it before I raised my voice...too much. That happens, I am learning, when I'm really tired. I came back in, and Little One was sitting on the floor in the kitchen. I was a little surprised, but he explained that he had sat himself in time out for what he had done, for hurting me. I guess I'm doing something right. No violence is such a basic rule for our household that it gets frustrating when it appears to not be understood, much less followed.

Keeping this in the forefront of my mind today:

Keeping the goat theme goin'. Life’s about choice. Live life in illusionary fear or love and joy? Repost for the new people.

    Finally!
Welcome to Costa Rica, Tom. Yeah, I went through that sickness purification phase...it went on and on.
It changed me more than all the books I ever read.

The birds you hear in the background makes a nice change from the roaring noisy streams he normally chooses to tape his Pele Reports next to.

When we are in our jungle house by the beach we hear those birds echoing all the time. I'm so ready to share this Costa Rica experience with Avalonian friends, just don't know how to go about it.
And here in the mountains it's different, still....Costa Rica has 45 micro climates at least, so every zone has it's own character...in one day one can change dimensions several times. Makes up for the lack of northern four seasons....you go through seasonal change daily.
There is even a dry desert like zone that looks like an African savannah.

After listening to the Pele report I also realized how that Venus Mercury conjunction shifted me away from Avalon, and reading and posting....instead I was being more social, and also sat yesterday for hours making jewelry...and which made me feel so good.

So Venus is associated with laziness, and Mercury with communication, as in writing and thinking. Hence less posts.
Meanwhile Venus is also about love and beauty, and therefore can stimulate creativity. Especially in Pisces, with it's inspirational energy.
Meanwhile Aquarius has intuition energy. Scorpio and Capricorn have psychic energy. Aries has impulse energy, as in primitive animal instinct. There is infinite variation in how energy expresses itself.

These trees are everywhere in Costa Rica..we have one right here on our land. They call them arboles pintados, or painted trees.

I have another chicken, a 1O week old,Aracana/Australorp cross, that, fingers crossed should lay blue/green eggs.
Magic was getting bullied by my 2 brown girls so i decided to get another black girl to balance out my flock.
New chicky is lovely, tame and sweet, and follows Magic around everywhere, they have bonded straight away.
I will still keep them separated until the black baby is up to more full size.
I learned that the brown breed has been known to be nasty with other types, so i have a battle to try and smooth out.
One of the breeders was telling me that even as little chickens they tend to roost in colors, which i find fascinating,
    almost racism, chicken style....

On another front, my Mother called me today and apologized to me for the first time in 49 years,
i nearly fell off my fitball, lol. We had a call a couple of days ago that i ended as i made certain things
clear to her. Details are not important, but i have been working on her energetically, in stealth for a while
now and had not seen any signs of any of it manifesting into 3D, until now..
So blow me over with a feather... wonders do happen.

True, Ulli. But also, the word "try" means that I might fail. I've been sort of going back and forth with the idea of perfection lately, of trying versus doing. While on some level of existence I (we) might be absolutely perfect, incapable of making any type of mistake or falling short of any goal in any way, this human experience is full trips and falls.

Remember when I had a holy cow moment over stating something out loud, not thinking anything of it, and then was blown away by all the ripples that caused? It was when M's friends were coming for the weekend and I set the boundary about the weapons and drugs. Well, that showed me that words, spoken out loud especially, might be more powerful than I had previously realized. If words are that powerful and important, I would surely like to say "I will do" rather than "I will try." However, if I say I am going to try, and I do try, I succeed. Possibility for success only.

So, on the one hand you have inevitable mistakes and on the other you have setting an intention to only succeed.

You would think I'm Libran for all the back and forth I do. haha

I realized that the author of some of my most favorite ideas is one I can NOT read at all: Philip K Dick

His style is so hard for me to get into, I keep going back and trying, and he's just not my cup of tea...but the movies made from his work are some of my favorties:

    Blade Runner
    Adjustment Bureau
Total Recall (though I have not gotten to see the new one yet)
and what I watched last night: A Scanner Darkly

I watched Minority Report only once when it first came out, when I was not really into the ideas though I need to revisit now...i kinda bought into the critic and word on of mouth on that one, which usually means it's a good flick just beyond those with little imagination or much fear

I would think with ideas and themes I totally resonate with, I would devour his books like I do Herbert or Asimov....I just can't though.

Back on a Scanner Darkly, it reminded me of the other movie done with rotoscoping (I love that technique) that I need to revisit, an old favorite "Waking Life"

The other connection is that they are both directed by Richard Linklater (who did Dazed & Confused, another favorite)

Interestingly: both feature Alex Jones, playing pretty much himself...

    Much Love,
I once was told by someone in the know about the difference between a Japanese car worker
and a Detroit car worker and what happens when they drop a spanner a couple of times in a row.

The Detroit car worker gets mad at himself and curses before he picks it up again.
If it happens a second time he curses even louder and harder.
By the time he does it a third time he kicks the car with his foot, putting a dent in it.
The Japanese car worker picks up the spanner and continues working.
He drops it twice...he picks up the spanner and continues working...
He drops it a third time...he picks up the spanner and continues working.

Maybe some would call the Japanese car worker robotic...perhaps so.
But maybe the robot label is nothing more than an excuse and justification for negative emotion.

    Just musing here.

...then before, and now once more, I'm bouncing round the room

The first time I seen these guys I was a hater...having never tolerated any "jam" bands...they did this as a finale--Trey & Mike on trampolines, right before a vacuum solo by Fishman, the day I got dragged, the last day of high school.

It was at the Mann Music Center in '05 (you could buy a ticket at the box office for a fair price at that relatively small venue at the time) the day "A Live One" came out...life changing experience.

Haven't listened to them too much lately, nor could I find a vid with them on the tramp--but this is a good version...if you don't smile at this song, well, you need your heart examined...

I just watched this TED talk about wearing second hand clothes.
Since my days as a fashion designer I have enjoyed shopping in thrift stores more
than in normal retail outlets, and most of my designer friends were like me.
Once in a while I might shop at a Saint-Laurent sale, but when you manufacture clothes you don't buy retail.
Here in Costa Rica we have huge second hand shops which are called Ropa Americana. They used to be called Ropa Usada, but since they came via containers from the US, someone painted their sign with the word USAda which means used, in the colors of the US flag.
Then the next guy changed the word USAda to Americana, and even though you can find items made in Paris and Milan, they are now always called ROPA AMERICANA.

I buy clothes and linen there...nearly every sheet and pillow I buy is Ralph Lauren, none cost me more than two or three dollars. My clothes are also top designer labels, in Costa Rica I stick mainly to black, and in Barbados I wear a lot of white, beige or pastels. Nothing like the girl in the TED talk.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that here. Spending money on expensive clothes is as silly as buying a brand new car...

21"/53 cm of snow so far and slowly winding down.... This story is getting old. Good news is that with each passing storm, that's one less to shovel. Lots of different birds on my deck. Even the spring birds have come to dine. All taking turns with their seed dinner.

Twice, when I shoveled, 5 geese honked on by. The first time, I reminded myself that it's our number in the Now, and in the ‘Village,’ and in these times.

So here are some random sentences for those that may want to consider the possibilities. I for one do because 5 is my life lesson number:
    • Many changes occur, and your mission might well be to promote progress through a willingness to accept change.
    • You are willing to adopt new concepts and new points of understanding, even to the extent of daring to claim the liberty to suggest new ways of doing things.
    • Propose new ideas to promote enlightenment; you have the courage and willingness to let go of the old and experiment with the new.
    Random sentences for Geese:
    • Time of good fortune and be receptive to all good things that come to you.
    • Even though it may not always seem so, you are always protected.
    • You possess an innate wisdom here on Mother Earth and know how to make the best in most situations.

@ Donk, I just read your '5' reference.
