Ever since y'all (I'm looking Dennis' way) started on the birds they have manifested in my reality.

On the same road I hit that goose the other day, just a bit ago a heron was soaring in line with road, tracking the car, cruising the same path for that length of road.

I mentioned it was next to an abandoned golf course (now known as my dog park), well my friend lives on it, and we happened to be walking right at that stretch Sunday, when some hawks were dancing around the sky, seemingly in answer to issues I was having that day.

As I left my house right now to run an errand, a large fearless raven is perched on my mailbox, not fluttering a feather as I get within a couple feet of him.

I wish I was better at reading these types of things...

I don't know how you do it it, but you come up with some good ones. I'm facinated with the tree sculpter. Blufire has a figure of a tree for her Avatar.

Typed in ancestors* Indian* grandmothers* and pictures of the winter solstice & spring equinox came up.....while looking through them I found a picture of the Red Star with an ancient....

Greetings, Villagers, ah the synchronicity of cats, trees and birds, which I see are part of the conversation lately.

As I was walking to the office this evening to work, I left the apt. and upon stepping outside of the door smelled a distinct scent of death. Not very strong, but enough so that I checked under the stairs and around the door to see if I saw anything. I thought immediately of the cats that live around the apartment complex, there's a mama with two kittens that walk up and down the stairs every day, but I found nothing around.

As I walked on campus, there are some old Bald Cypress trees that I pass every day that are a few hundred years old. They front some feeder ponds filled with algae and frogs and act as sentinels it seems to me, observing the changes in the river and the flow of people, which used to flow by them before it was dammed up in the mid-1800s.

But today, as I reached the trees, directly past them and on my path were about 15 vultures. Just sitting there. The vultures migrate to this region every winter and huddle together on trees directly behind where I live, overlooking the earthen dam of the San Marcos river. I see them all the time in different places, often, when I go to work, they sit by the dumpster or even on one of the baseball/softball fields that are closeby, but this is the first time I've seen them in this particular space. As I approached them they so did not want to move. They waddled away for as long as they could until they figured out I was coming for sure then they flew away in protestation, although they did not fly far, just to some trees sitting by another pond. They left behind a very distinct and acrid smell as I passed them by.

Then, immediately to my left and in the shallows of one of the ponds I saw a Great Blue Heron.

It was also disturbed by my passage, although it did not fly away. I passed it, wondering at this interaction with all of these creatures in such quick succession when, again directly on my path, there was a small grey squirrel just sitting there chewing on something.

He also gave way to allow me passage but it felt like a sequence ending once I'd passed him and entered the campus proper. I was left wondering the meaning of these interactions, from the first scent and thought of cats to the vultures, the heron and the squirrel. Definitely a time of intense interaction in all spheres!

there is a bird who moved into our mulberry tree in the front of our house. shes been there about a week or two, and this morning she was out catching worms so we snuck a picture to see who's in the nest.



mama bird was watching us take the picture though. shes so protective, since there were 2 cats stalking about the yard.

Oh my gosh, Em and I just had the most amazing, fun, and exciting experience! We finally were able to stop at the hole in the wall herb shop in town. It's tucked away and if you don't drive really slowly looking at what downtown has to offer, I'm sure you'd miss it.

Em has been looking at making things with herbs, teas, tinctures...all kinds of combinations for all manner of things.

After spending an hour in the store, the owner, who is an herbalist, told us about classes she teaches. Em and I are taking our first beginners class in June! And not only that, but she offered to Em that if she had time over the summer she would be thrilled to have some help. So Em lit up like a Christmas tree, being allowed to volunteer with this lady. Em will get to take classes from her at no charge, and also get a discount on anything purchased there. Which, after today, I will tell you will be substantial.

We came home with two plants, two girly mesh tea strainer ball thingies, a sample bag of tea for Em's tummy troubles, two all natural chocolate bars, some organic lollipops, and a bunch of packets of seeds.

We have a ton of ideas on how to get the tummy issues under control, including swapping out cow's milk for coconut milk...and she carries organic, fresh yogurt which we will put in our smoothies (new addiction there) instead of store bought...and this lady makes some type of organic chocolate mix for milk, which will make Em a happy girl!

Oh, I'm so excited! Em gets to "study" with an herbalist! I did check her level of patience, haha, as Em is sort of...inquisitive...and this lady used to be a preschool teacher!

Of course, I will take the classes too, which is an added bonus.

Love ur new avatar paula! I see youve taken a number of perspectives--being in different positions with ur head shot. Im obsessed with "perspective" in its many forms--and one thing i like to do is take shots of myself in different perspective positions -Blah say tht three times! I like the idea tht our perspectives in life change as well as everyone "residing" in their perspective positions viewing life from a whole new direction each time---- Ok i feel if i keep going it may get confusing---but thought id mention, i like the different shots youve put out
