leaf blowers, rakes, and pumpkin face plastic bags
leaf piles with little legs and mittened hands
leaves and brush smoke, snap, crackle, and pop
habitachi grills cool their jets
habitachi grills on frequent flyer mile trip

squirrels scurry to stash the cache
squirts of DW2 on tricycle bells
knit beanies and Fadoras fashion show parade
trading baseball cleats for soccer cleats
checking wellies boots for spiders and mice
strategically placed pamphlets for Caribbean Cruise

bird feeds at the ready for winter residents
hot chocolate
hot chocolate, marshmallows and smores
chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches
chicken noodle soup and saltine crackers
family night, micro-wave pop corn and movies

strategically placed pamphlets for Disneyland and Disney World
pumpkin and apple picking

gourd and corn stalk decorations

baby's plastic pool filled with beer and soda pop
hot dogs and hamburgers still on the grill

Going to take the EM frequency machine to a friend who suffers from backache to see if it will help her.

here another overcast day, lots of moisture in the air. Plants are growing faster than can be trimmed.

Listening to celtic-themed music... it triggers something deep in me. Even as frightening questions of identity have been surfacing, there is some peace.

A sea of earth yellows, browns and light greens surrounding my parents' home, an occasional breeze releasing small volleys of fluttering leaves... down to the ground for a winter's rest. A time of enchantment and going inside. It was miserable in the past, but I am looking forward to it this time.

I am seeing slight changes in the people around me. My dad's sores are suddenly bothering him less for the time being. My friend is putting visible effort into study and opening to kindness, even moreso than I myself have been willing.

Time to sew a few things...

To be in love is an awakening to the possibilities latent in your own soul. I love him like breathing, it is light, easy and effortless. It is as joyful as a child chasing an iridescent bubble, while laughing in sheer delight as it almost touches eager fingertips. He has become a part of the rhythm of my heart. I can feel every moment as if it was eternal. The cat sits in his lap. She looks like the Chat Noir of the famed Parisian posters. He is reading his iPhone not knowing that I am writing this. Rice and beans are cooking. He gets up depositing Ms. Kitten on the floor. She follows him into the kitchen on tiptoes.

Stepping out of the cave for a stretch... and a two posts in one.

Been seeing this for the last couple of days. Playing with the possibility. The bottom fibre optic represents simultaneous-Paula’s. Top left are merging energies, with reunions and recall from a greater perspective. Top right is a representation of when some of us tap into one another’s knowledge base, unify and organize for a time.

Here and Now is quiet. In the USA, it’s a three day weekend. Many go on mini-vacations, in some areas there are art festivals where people get a jump on Christmas shopping, while others take to the highways to enjoy the changing foliage before the Tree Ones begin their winter break.

Wonder if I will be run out of town. Wonder if there will be an effort to tie my tongue.

At the band competition over the weekend, an obnoxious member of our band got a dose of reality. She pointed at a member of another band, hand and arm completely outstretched, stared obviously, and laughed (out loud) as she (at the top of her lungs) exclaimed, "he's gay!"

I just about lost it. Are you serious right now? As a matter of fact, I put one hand on each of her shoulders, turned her square across from me, looked straight at her and said, "Let me tell you a little something that might help you in life. Outside this small town of (insert name) Texas, millions of people are gay. And you know what? Nobody cares. It's normal. There's nothing wrong with that. And certainly people don't go around staring and pointing and laughing. As a matter of fact, I have spent some time in San Francisco, CA, which is the home of many gay families. And guess what. They are actually human beings. Just like you." This is the same girl who, this same day but unrelated to this incident, pointed at Em and said, "you're weird" (in her top of her lungs volume). I had enough of that crap, stepped in and just sort of nonchalantly added, "Yeah? Or maybe she is normal, and you are weird." And walked off.

M had her last driving lesson yesterday. In the car with her was another member of the band, just as closed minded and irritating but for different reasons. M, at this moment identifying with the bisexual label, and being my daughter and all, and not one to allow bigotry when it is in her face, decided to bring the previous day's events into the casual conversation. (here we go...) So she did. And this girl rolled her eyes at M. Not really wise. So M tells the girl about the recent decision she heard the Supreme Court has made (haven't verified this myself at this point) that gay marriage is constitutional and will be legal as of 2014. This made the girl's jaw drop. So, M discusses how this is a good thing, as all human beings have the right to be happy when they are not hurting anyone else. And then M added, "and I know my ex-girlfriend would agree."

Which made the girl turn green and look at M like "ewwwwwwwww." Which, of course, satisfied M immensely.

Oh dear, what have we started? Man, I'm really laughing at how the three of us cannot go anywhere without standing out. Nope, there will be no fitting in at my house. I am wondering if some parent or other is going to talk to me about keeping my mouth shut. That, I promise you, will be an interesting discussion, should it occur.

You know how people are around here. They may attempt to run us out of town. Good luck with all that.

1inmany, Well, this is exaclty why gay people escape in big cities. To be able to live normal lives. There is even a section of Montreal called gay town, where there is a greater concentration of gays. (then it is the hetero that cannot have a normal life there, just kidding..)

Mini Flash and I are presently in the US of A, visiting my friend in New Hampshire. She has been sick with cancer last year and not it is her husband. So we rented a room not to disturb them. I went to breakfast in the hospital and met her there, then back to the room to wake up my sleeping teenager. this afternoon, a bit of shoping and dining with them. Back home tomorrow.
