I listened to the first session and many countries were very articulate in their opposition to Israel's actions.

Vote for passing the resolution was 29 for, 1 against and 17 abstentions.

Only the US voted against.

Of course Venezuela and Bolivia haven't thought much of Israel's treatment of the Palestinian's for quite a while and can't do much cause they don't really have relations with Israel. Maduro made a statement condemning Israel and said that Venezuela:

So, it makes bugger all difference how "outraged" a country "sounds", it is only when it actually takes real action (like cutting off economic ties indefinitely like Venezuela) that it is real (not that a Nation-State is actually "real" other than as a legal framework etc, etc or as a constructed transmundanic entity etc, etc). Even then I doubt that the action actually is real. Create tensions to distract and keep people looking --> over there...

It's all just a pantomime anyway with the jesters moving around making the court laugh.

In the end it is people who create change, not Governments.

There are lots of different ones and I'm not familiar with a "black rain" story though do know a couple of stories about large waves...

There's even one I recall hearing years back about the sun coming up in a different place (from memory it was actually termed "other side of the bay" but that was taken to mean different direction).

I'm not trying to move this thread off topic but I've heard this a number of times over the years and never gotten an answer other than "I read it on a website" or "the book I read said Aboriginal".

This pasts days (23/07/2014) Brazil has positioned itself against the attacks of Israel to Gaza, considering the "unproportional use of force" "unacceptable". The embassador of Brazil in Tel Aviv was called back to othe country in order to be consulted by the govern. Israel reacted to Brazil's positioning in a very peculiar way: they said that it was irrelevant, that the country was a "diplomatic dwarf" (sic).

Ok. I'll say it again: a "diplomatic dwarf". I would say that that's a very mature statement to be made by a country that's being called attention by the killing of hundreds of inocent lives. .

As for what you point here: I know Israel is not about peace. Imo, absolutely no force should be driven from them to Gaza. The brazilian government's statement was too light in condemning the "excessive" use of force by Israel. Instead of, it should have said "any kind of force". But, despite this, the country's positioning is growing very strong against Israel's attacks.

Yes the statement is weak and to be honest you wouldn't expect it otherwise. Brazil has had millions spent there recently to enforce the security and military forces persecuting the racist class system with the investment in purpose built concentration camps for the unruly. You might know these camps as "stadia" or stadiums of sport. These were built geographically to ensure large swathes of the population can be incarcerated out of sight from the remainder.
