Why are there arcs on flight paths when viewed on a flat map or diagram?
Because the Earth is a globe it's round. In aviation the shortest distance is not necessarily a straight line it's a straight arc.
Take a piece of string and place it on say Los Angeles, now let's use London as our destination. Connect the two with the string going Eastbound. You will find your path along that string takes you well North and even into Hudson Bay. Now take that same string and wrap it so that your path is truly eastward as best you can until you reach London. Compare the distance. Voilà, the arc is the shorter distance.
Also several times in my Aviation career I have departed Los Angeles to Europe with short stays then off from Europe to China to Tokyo and back to Los Angeles - Circumnaviged, never hit a dome or whatever the flat earthers theorize.
Just my two cents from a Pilot as you requested.

Nah, i would not say that i believe in flat earth theory, but there is some weird thing about it.. has more solid ground points than spherical. With sphere i dunno where i would begin with errors..
I so love description about string connecting, but i would meet personally person which connected LA to London, realy i would, have some questions for him

concerning aeroplanes, they have so much auto-navigation in themselves that it would be really hard to tell. Those planes which don't are too small for rest of tasks.
Another thing is atmosphere and curving/distorting light.

I would not bet my life on shape of something i did not experienced, and prolly one of rarely brave enough to ADMIT so, rest are better and poker faces knowing all. Hey it writes in gov. docs so...

From my observations i would rather say earth is concave shape or maybe even could be flat or something like that.. there is also version it can be cubical and that cubical gets re-aranged by position of person in that cubical matrix.

what i feel is for shure is that something like atmosphere does not divide us from vacuum, you can try experiment in lab and divide air and vaccum without firmament so divide materia and antimateria basically, how, with materia? is that trickery? it is like dividing salt from water .. with more water or salt?

Thing that adds most is nasa space cartoon show... they produce such imagery, i dunno believe people fall onto that one.
there are tons of videos with planets having refresh rates, their shape gets refreshed from bottom to top, just same as graphic on the wall.. yet this is graphic projected onto firmament. you think maybe not, yet they have shown their technology in stellarium even before computer ages they had cupolas in which they projected stars and planets..

this model of universe and mass gravity attraction is fail in any sense, it is such impossible to recreate without directly creating-controlin and managing.
I realised that while coding for one idea that i had, i started to make universe with planets, basicaly our sol with newtonian physics... geesh... i think everyone should try that just for sake, because than you understand it is not self perpetuated system.

One should think deep really... because mainstream says we live in self perpetuated system while saying there is no such thing as self perpetual system :D
and those sattelite phones which are really using GPS triangulation and not accesible in all areas...

and i think i have most problems with reneissance and all that global changes and personas behind globe theory and in which way it crawled into common man.

before earth was a turtle, elephant, egg, disc.... which actually works good for DREAMWORLD
this singularity schematics and all belief in one religion, new world order and all believe in sphere world is called programming consciousness in my world
and that is how they trap and control peoples dreams.

last thing i need in my life is to accept truth of those who are in control of truths..
i'd rather stay with my dunno attitude ... sphere is not just because they say it is.

there is more crashed and hard angle distracted rockets than any those flying into space, they use cut and computer graphics even for that.. WHY is my question?
why they edit rocket launches?
why they edit every single space pictures?
why google earth looks like something from inferior paint program?
why all that copy paste?
why all refresh rates on planets and stars?

tells enough for me, even there could be even more why's here..

why i think is concave, because it is MOTHER earth and in my opinion we are in its WOMB (world).. thats why elite uses phaluses to harvest mothers womb energy

Seriously though, that 'Flat Earth' concept, as far as our normally excepted/conditioned/programmed view of things in this reality, well it seems MAD, but that is all it is, a view!
Our normalized/conditioned/programmed view of Globe/Planet/Earth, is again a view! the view we call our reality but!

Change vib/phase and view things from a slightly different reality, all could be thought as normal in a Flat-World view point!

Sorry for the above, bit gibberish but we, some of us (Most) think we are changing dimensions, climbing the Vib-reality, phasing in and out of different realities/view-points. Sometimes the Flat-Earth view seems to be real, there is something to it!, then I'm back in the old normalized programming vib again and the FE seems MAD Doh

I think we are phasing in and out of dimensions/conditions/realities, we are growing and so to me in these times, all views have merit and substance!, but then maybe I'm just MAD ha

I've examined the arguments -- not in these videos, but they all ignore the laws of physics. In fact, one has to believe the laws of physics are not constant to believe in a flat earth. The laws of physics can be bent a little in the physical plane, but not nullified.

A hollow earth still may follow physics, but I imagine vast underground caverns with a populous are to credit for those theories, and may well be plausible. A flat Earth I cannot accept. Too many satellites and space junk following the laws of physics ... so basically, via deductive reasoning, I cannot see validity in the theory, no matter how well presented.

Again, my 2 cents.

Gotta love it when someone comes off like they already know everything...and they can't learn anything new...absolutely humorous....just saying....your one of those that like to have the answer ready before the question is asked...how's that working for you? all these videos are about 10 minutes long...you'll miss the point if I give you the cliff notes for this...I just felt it was important and I was excited to have watched it and think about it and wanted to share....I can't believe it...either watch or don't...or take the time...again...I state that it was important to me and I thought I could find some good dialog about it here on Avalon...boy has this forum ever changed...it was the bomb in the very beginning...perhaps everyone is so bombarded with information these days they want the unabridged version....I say pick your interests and go with that. You can't build a building from the top down....no short cuts.

Draw the earth for me as you see it and post it. And also explain how it got to that shape and answer me all questions related. Let's do this then. No problem. You or the OP -- just draw me the earth as it "really exists to you in the way that you have seen it" (or provide a reasonable facsimile) then be able to provide me with answers to all my questions. I'll humour you for a moment, just to get my questions in. Feel free to repeat answers from any Youtube videos you find as "reasons".

Seriously, game on.
