Here the super moon is also producing maximum spring tides (coefficient 119 on a scale of 120). Given that the Mont-Saint-Michel area has the world's largest tides (outside of Canada), and work has been done to restore its insularity, people will be flocking to see what 43 feet of water can do to change the scenery.

Araucaria, We have had the highest tides recently I have ever witnessed here on the Cape...the ocean front homes on the north bay at the end of Indian Trail Rd. have had close encounters with the oncoming oncomings washed ashore, I could build a considerable dock with much of the material scattered here, there and everywhere.
    Interesting Higher Times, Aho!!!

Today is not only the beginning of the astrological calendar, but also the beginning of the Baha'i New Year, or Naw-Ruz.
Today, 32 years ago I realized that Baha'u'llah was the true messenger from God for this age. My obsessive search for absolute truth had yielded the desired result.
And also today, in 2002, I decided to leave the community, after 19 years of devoted service.

But in my heart I am forever connected with the four successive founders of this religion, The Bab, Baha'u'llah, Abdu'l-Baha, and Shoghi Effendi. The first one (Bab) was born in 1812 and the last one passed away in 1957.
It took no less than four leaders to establish a new system over a period of 144 years.

The Bab = The Herald. Executed by firing squad.
Baha'u'llah = the Revealer, imprisoned, tortured and exiled to Akka in Palestine, then the prison city of the Ottoman Empire.
Abdu'l-Baha = The Interpreter, imprisoned for 56 years, along with his father, until his release in 1906, when the Young Turk Revolution brought about the release of all political prisoners.
Shoghi Effendi = The Expounder. Dedicated his life to establishing the Baha'i administrative system, revealed by Baha'u'llah, a new system which allows for humanity to organize themselves into well-functioning groups, without clergy or individual leaders, with regular (secret ballot) elections, and which would allow for a classless meritocracy to evolve.

I thought the system was foolproof and could not be corrupted. Then I found out that I was wrong.
(But maybe I was right, but lacked patience?)
After all, this Baha'i system is a world shattering reset button, and thus huge efforts were made by the PTB to stop it from growing.

Baha'u'llah, born in Iran (then Persia), exiled to Iraq, lived for two years as a derwish in Kurdistan, exiled to Turkey, and finally sentenced to life imprisonment in Palestine, now Israel.

And everywhere he lived has become a war zone, the opposite of what he taught.
But he did say it would take a while, to get to world peace.
It has to come- one way or another.

Either as a voluntary coming together of humans of goodwill, or through suffering the consequences of multiple wars, until everyone is so fed up with all the bloodshed that they realize that living in peace and harmony is the only answer.

    Happy Naw-Ruz, World.

    House still smells of pancakes.

New neighbour got up early to start knocking renovations into his house. 10 AM-ish.

Other neighbours are now awake too, and I think it's too early to call my friend, so I'll wait another ten minutes.

And thinking about what I should do first: mending clothes or paper work. I think I'll go for sewing...It's 10:06 but if the neighbour can use his heavy-duty drill then surely my machine won't do much harm.

It is a lovely morning. Cool and foggy here. Nature sounds abound. I am told the fairies are singing, but I cannot hear it. I am told it is like a whisper. Maybe I will hear that one day.

Em has a friend over. Yet another instance I can report, of a child who is quite different who is growing into a stage other parents take for granted. I celebrate it, as I wondered if it was possible. It is beautiful, even if it does get quite loud. And the teen girl energy is a bit of a challenge at times.

These two share some deep conversations, I must say. Religion...divorce...bullying...magic... They are all over the place. I am glad I am here to help them maneuver through, hope I am saying the right things.

I reckon if I allow Spirit to move through me, if I am holding the space for them to explore these topics, I am doing Okay.

    Much Love,
Life is a road we don't travel alone. But everyone's on their own journey home.

The gardening bug has got me too.

My big garden is at the far end of the property, so the deer think it's theirs. The mountain has an overabundance of deer, expanding since the 70's when someone introduced them. They have few predators except the cars on the road.

Before I do it again, I'll require a big fence around it and perhaps even a top across it since white-tail deer can jump ten feet.

This year as an interim, the whole garden will be herbs. I'm hoping they are aromatic enough to ward off critters, and tough enough they won't need much care from me once they're going. I'm still not 100%. But it's lovely to be outdoors in a garden. There was a scientific study recently that the microorganisms in soil have anti-depressive effects on us.

Flash, I'm holding the intention of 'just right' for your interview this Friday. You have so much going for you, that experience and skill you've collected over the years, that an employer will see the gold within when they look at you.

Violet, I love to read your posts--they become word pictures and I can almost see your life, caring for your family and searching for life's answers. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you the best outcome in everything.

Eaglespirit and Paula, and all the ones in New England ... hoping you see the spring soon! We've had a colder than normal winter too, with more to come. But the birds have been singing their hearts for a few days. And they sing back to me when I answer their song. I'll be planting sunflowers and thistles for them.

    (Albert Gleizes)

Cubist but a bit abstract too. A forest and a village/city too.

Here's another one (city omitted (but you get something else in return)):

    (Picasso)

When you compare them you can see that - both cubist - the first artist has sharper building blocks of familiar angularity. Picasso rounds it up here and there.

On first hand, I thought that if the cubes lost more angles, that would add to the abstractness of the painting but it's not that simple, or so it appears, literally.

The appearance of the landscape with the lost angles has more reality to it than the sharper outlined sample, which radiates industry/industrial, hence - maybe - inclusion of the village/city (but I can't say unless I analyse all Gleizes' works). In my experiment, , interestingly, it went the other way around.

    These are two quick drafts:

I don't draw/paint a lot of abstract, much though I am attracted to the style, so I would need some practice to get there. I talked about that last time, how that was more difficult than I expected.

In the first draft, which was the first step of a single session, I started with simplifying a forest. Everything has gone triangles but you can still distinguish the differents parts of the landscape.

In the second draft, which was the second step of that session, I took the first step and blurred it even more with random choice of turning it all into cubes, colours remaining on the same place.

Adding one angle increased the abstract aspect. I think if I would take the second draft and use some deep paint, that could become an interesting affair.

Strange how the MSN doesn't keep us informed about what's happening In Iceland these days.

Happy Spring equinox to each and everyone in the village! Let us light a big bonfire and toss in all of our wishes and manifestations for the coming year. I toss in wishes for good health, strength and plenty of spiritual nutrition to nourish all of our bodies and souls. I have brought homemade wine as an offering to the good people of the village. We are dancing barefoot to the drummings of the woodpecker! Let the wine pour! Let the festival begin! Good friends, good company! Well wishes all around!

    Much Love,
    Julia
Thank you, Julia! We had a week of early Spring, then went back to winter... but I did hear a cardinal tweeting (what I suspect is) a call to find a mate. I'm far enough north that cardinals are absent in winter, though we are at the northernmost edge of their range. So, for us, cardinals are harbingers of Spring.

No dancing barefoot (outdoors) yet - at least for me. The ground is still frozen. I look forward to gardening barefoot this year, for the first time in about 6 years (after successful leg surgery has released me from having to wear compression socks.)

I salute your good wishes for us all, and echo them back to you!

    Dennis

    Dear Dennis and Villagers,
So glad you are well enough to plant again Dennis! Gardening is so good for the soul!

I should have heeded your advice on it being too cold to go barefoot just yet. I did run around in the yard and ended up with a major cramp in my foot. You know the kind that makes your toes kink together and they just won't unlock!
I ended up hopping on one foot until the cramp subsided. Thank goodness no one saw me. Like so many of my follies, it wasn't pretty but I was well intentioned none the less!
A few inches of snow and some ice are forecast for tonight! I guess old man winter wants to go out with a bang. We have had some winter bonfires this season and roasted marshmallows in the snow, but I think it would be wise for an old granny like me to wait until the grass is warm and green before I make a habit of going barefoot for good! I hope each and all of you have a wonderful spring full of life and surprises!

    Much Much Love!
    Julia
