I do not usually follow Martial Law predictions. People must be having very different experiences. Europe sounds particularly dreadful these days.


The U. S. has a lot of rural areas with a lot of guns, and, untold amounts of ammunition, and there is not really any sense of anything like that situation unfolding. "Normal", in this case, I suppose, having largely been unaffected. Densely populated areas are a lot more vulnerable. And so if maybe there was some way to completely exterminate agriculture in a two year period, perhaps something drastic like that might happen. Nuclear winter, asteroid, volcano, something like that perhaps.


Given the opportunity, I would say that Schwab and the capitalists are going to sell:

whatever you will buy.

So our first problem is that they continue to operate, at all. But, if they are easily able to roll out that QR stuff and so forth, they probably will. Especially if it is easy for them to do. That is why we can find three or four promises that the public has been asking about for years, e. g. "fair corporate taxes" and so forth, PR.

“What is concerning here is the modulation that is possible with the upgraded technology. They can dial this up, they can dial this back. My concern, here is that the amount of raw power, you couldn’t imagine it.

“You literally could cook an entire city if you just crank the dial up to 11 for ten minutes. You could roast like a Thanksgiving turkey. And these towers are everywhere and there’s multiple redundancies on all of them.”

Based on the patents he’s read, John thinks that the graphene oxide in the vaccines, in combination with cellphone tower radiation can create graphene hydroxide and cause self-assembly of different structures, based on the various nanoparticles present in a particular batch.

John says, “This is actually a manufacturing process that was a technological breakthrough that I came across reading trade papers.”

He says that glutathione can help us to de-toxify from graphene oxide (GO) and help to eliminate it from the body. However, he says if there are large accumulations of GO in our body, the first thing that happens with a certain frequency of non-ionizing radiation from a cell tower is it that it will hit these particles, causing them to multiply in physical mass by as much as 30 times.

“And it will combine with whatever else is around and form up whatever that recipe is specifically designed to tell it to form.

“So, if you want to take all the graphene oxide in your body and flip it into graphene hydroxide and flood your vasculature with little nano razor blades, as Andreas Noack warned us about, that’s how it’s done.

“They’re using this infrastructure to create things, using the human body as a manufacturing plant.”

John doesn’t know what the various recipes are but he has an idea.

“These are signals that are sent – and they don’t have to be terahertz frequencies, they don’t need to be anything exotic. They can be from 1 gigahertz to 2.4; the stuff that cordless phones are running on.

“But it is the pattern. It’s kinda like a Morse Code. So, you’ll have a pulse at this frequency for ten seconds, followed by a pulse for five seconds, followed by three pulses at one second. Something like that. This is what’s described in the patents I’ve been reading.

“They can dial in a disease or a death like you’re tuning in a radio station. And they can do it across a broad area. So this is the most dangerous aspect of this, because it’s so covert and it’s so science fiction, almost that hardly anyone believes it.

“But I can tell you, it is very well-grounded in science. All of the different allotropes of that graphene oxide material can be generated spontaneously, under the right EMF band. The can literally change the allotropes, from sheets to strings to bucky balls – there’s like eight different ones.”

The essential points of what Todd Callender believes are:

• The Covid-19 and “vaccine” bioweapon operation is a planned genocide and war crime against humanity that is part of a multi-decade plan of the elites.

• Both Covid-19 and the injection are man-made bioweapons that include bioengineered, synthetic, chimeric, hybrid microorganisms that are both part viral and part bacterial. They use chimeric e. coli, ebola, and Marburg in the shots.

• The injections contain lipid nano-particles that carry these pathogenic chimeric microbes that invade cells and genetically modify them to produce spike proteins. The HIV protein in the bioweapons disable the body’s autoimmune system allowing these lipid nano-particles to invade cells. The “vaccine” gives VAIDS, or “Vaccine Auto Immune Deficiency Syndrome”. All those who are “vaxxed” will now test positive for HIV. People who have taken 3 shots have no immune system left. There is no other way to characterize this program other than unlawful homicide/genocide.

• The military’s own numbers in their DMED database show an 1,100% increase in all causes of mortality and morbidity among 1.8 million US soldiers from 2020 to 2021. This population group is aged between 18 and 40 years. These forecasts predict a 5,000% increase in morbidity and mortality in this same group this year (2022).

• Everyone who has taken the injections is participating in a Phase 3 Clinical Trial without having given informed consent.

• This is all tied in to the widespread introduction of 5G communication system. The 5G (18-60) Gigahertz EM signal produces symptoms in humans identical with Covid-19 and the “vaccine.” Also, the materials in the injections are designed to be activated upon exposure to the 18 GHz frequencies emitted by 5G antennas. Thus, 5G transmitters (0 to 100 GHz) will be the trigger mechanism for the Zombie Apocalypse.

• The first major outbreaks of “Covid-19” occurred in Wuhan, China, Milan, Italy, and New York City just as these 5G communications systems were being activated for the first time.

Welcome to the second phase of the Great Reset: war.

While the pandemic acclimatised the world to lockdowns, normalised the acceptance of experimental medications, precipitated the greatest transfer of wealth to corporations by decimating SMEs and adjusted the muscle memory of workforce operations in preparation for a cybernetic future, an additional vector was required to accelerate the economic collapse before nations can ‘Build Back Better.’

I present below several ways in which the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine is the next catalyst for the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset agenda, facilitated by an interconnected web of global stakeholders and a diffuse network of public-private partnerships.

1. The war between Russia and Ukraine is already causing unprecedented disruption to global supply chains, exacerbating fuel shortages and inducing chronic levels of inflation.

As geopolitical tensions morph into a protracted conflict between NATO and the Sino-Russia axis, a second contraction may plunge the economy into stagflation.

In the years ahead, the combination of subpar growth and runaway inflation will force a global economic underclass into micro-work contracts and low-wage jobs in an emerging gig economy.

Another recession will compound global resource thirst, narrow the scope for self-sufficiency and significantly increase dependence on government subsidies.

With the immiseration of a significant portion of the world’s labour force looming on the horizon, this may well be a prelude to the introduction of a Universal Basic Income, leading to a highly stratified neo-feudal order.

Therefore, the World Economic Forum’s ominous prediction that we will ‘own nothing and be happy’ by 2030 seems to be unfolding with horrifying rapidity.

2. The war’s economic fallout will lead to a dramatic downsizing of the global workforce.

The architects of the Great Reset have anticipated this trend for a number of years and will exploit this economic turbulence by propelling the role of disruptive technologies to meet global challenges and fundamentally alter traditional business patterns to keep pace with rapid changes in technology.

Like the pandemic, disaster preparedness in the age of conflict will rest significantly on the willingness to embrace specific technological innovations in the public and private spheres so that future generations can supply the labour demands of the Great Reset.

A recurring theme in Klaus Schwab’s Shaping the Future of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is that groundbreaking technological and scientific innovations will no longer be relegated to the physical world around us but become extensions of ourselves.

He emphasises the primacy of emerging technologies in a next generation workforce and highlights the urgency to push ahead with plans to digitise several aspects of the global labour force through scalable technology based solutions.

Those spearheading the Great Reset seek to manage geopolitical risk by creating new markets which revolve around digital innovations, e-strategies, telepresence labour, Artificial Intelligence, robotics, nanotechnology, the Internet of Things and the Internet of Bodies.

The breakneck speed in which AI technologies are being deployed suggest that the optimization of such technologies will initially bear on traditional industries and professions which offer a safety net for hundreds of millions of workers, such as farming, retail, catering, manufacturing and the courier industries.

Many of the jobs which will be lost in the years ahead were already moving towards redundancy and are unlikely to be recovered once the dust is settled

However, automation in the form of robots, smart software and machine learning will not be limited to jobs which are routine, repetitive and predictable.

AI systems are on the verge of wholesale automation of various white collar jobs, particularly in areas which involve information processing and pattern recognition such as accounting, HR and middle management positions.

Although anticipating future employment trends is no easy task, it’s safe to say that the combined threat of pandemics and wars means the labour force is on the brink of an unprecedented reshuffle with technology reshaping logistics, potentially threatening hundreds of millions of blue and white collar jobs, resulting in the greatest and fastest displacement of jobs in history and foreshadowing a labour market shift which was previously inconceivable.

While it has long been anticipated that the increased use of technology in the private sector would result in massive job losses, pandemic lockdowns and the coming disruption caused by a war will speed up this process, and many companies will be left with no other option but to lay off staff and replace them with creative technological solutions merely for the survival of their businesses.

In other words, many of the jobs which will be lost in the years ahead were already moving towards redundancy and are unlikely to be recovered once the dust is settled.

3. The war has significantly reduced Europe’s reliance on the Russian energy sector and reinforced the centrality of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and ‘net zero‘ emissions which lies at the heart of the Great Reset.

Policymakers marching lockstep with the Great Reset have capitalised on the tough sanctions against Russia by accelerating the shift towards ‘green’ energy and reiterating the importance of decarbonisation as part of the ‘fight against climate change’.

However, it would be very short-sighted to assume that the Great Reset is ultimately geared towards the equitable distribution of ‘green’ hydrogen and carbon-neutral synthetic fuels replacing petrol & diesel.

While UN SDGs are crucial to post-pandemic recovery, more importantly, they are fundamental to the makeover of shareholder capitalism which is now being vaunted by the Davos elites as ‘stakeholder capitalism’.

This will centralise power in the hands of stakeholder capitalists under the benevolent guise of reinventing capitalism through fairer and greener means

In economic terms, this refers to a system where governments are no longer the final arbiters of state policies as unelected private corporations become the de facto trustees of society, taking on the direct responsibility to address the world’s social, economic and environmental challenges through macroeconomic cooperation and a multi-stakeholder model of global governance.

Under such an economic construct, asset holding conglomerates can redirect the flow of global capital by aligning investments with the UN’s SDGs and configuring them as Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) compliant so that new international markets can be built on the disaster and misery of potentially hundreds of millions of people reeling from the economic collapse caused by war.

Therefore, the war offers a huge impetus for the governments pushing the reset to actively pursue energy independence, shape markets towards ‘green and inclusive growth’ and eventually move populations towards a cap-and-trade system, otherwise known as a carbon credit economy.

This will centralise power in the hands of stakeholder capitalists under the benevolent guise of reinventing capitalism through fairer and greener means, using deceptive slogans like ‘Build Back Better’ without sacrificing the perpetual growth imperative of capitalism.

4. Food shortages created by the war will offer a major boon to the synthetic biology industry as the convergence of digital technologies with materials science and biology will radically transform the agricultural sector and encourage the adoption of plant-based and lab-grown alternatives on a global scale.

Russia and Ukraine are both bread baskets of the world and critical shortages in grains, fertilisers, vegetable oils and essential foodstuffs will catapult the importance of biotechnology to food security and sustainability and give birth to several imitation meat start-ups similar to ‘Impossible Foods’ which was co-funded by Bill Gates.

One can therefore expect more government regulation to usher a dramatic overhaul to industrial food production and cultivation, ultimately benefiting agribusiness and biotech investors, since food systems will be redesigned through emerging technologies to grow ‘sustainable’ proteins and CRISPR gene-edited patented crops.

5. Russia’s exclusion from SWIFT (The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) foreshadows an economic reset which will generate precisely the kind of blowback necessary for corralling large swathes of the global population into a technocratic control grid.

As several economists have opined, weaponizing SWIFT, CHIPS (The Clearing House Interbank Payments System) and the US Dollar against Russia will only spur geopolitical rivals like China to accelerate the process of de-dollarisation.

The main benefactor of economic sanctions against Russia appears to be China which can reshape the Eurasian market by encouraging member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and BRICS to bypass the SWIFT ecosystem and settle cross-border international payments in the Digital Yuan.

While the demand for cryptocurrencies will see a massive spike, this is likely to encourage many governments to increasingly regulate the sector through public blockchains and enforce a multilateral ban on decentralised cryptocurrencies.

The shift to crypto could be the dress rehearsal to eventually expedite plans for programmable money overseen by a federal regulator, leading to the greater accretion of power in the hands of a powerful global technocracy and thus sealing our enslavement to financial institutions.

I believe this war will bring currencies to parity, therefore heralding a new Bretton Woods moment which promises to transform the operation of international banking and macroeconomic cooperation through the future adoption of central bank digital currencies.

6. This war marks a major inflection point in the globalist aspiration for a new international rules based order anchored in Eurasia.

As the ‘father of geopolitics’ Halford Mackinder opined over a century ago, the rise of every global hegemon in the past 500 years has been possible because of dominance over Eurasia. Similarly, their decline has been associated with losing control over that pivotal landmass.

This causal connection between geography and power has not gone unnoticed by the global network of stakeholders representing the WEF, many of whom have anticipated the transition to a multipolar era and return to great power competition amid America’s receding political and economic influence and a pressing need for what technocrats call smart globalisation.

While America tries desperately to cling to its superpower status, China’s economic ascent and Russia’s regional ambitions threaten to upend the strategic axial points of Eurasia (Western Europe and Asia Pacific).

The region in which America previously enjoyed uncontested hegemony is no longer impervious to cracks and we may be witnessing a changing of the guard which dramatically alters the calculus of global force projection.

Although China’s ambitious Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has the potential to unify the world-island (Asia, Africa and Europe) and cause a tectonic shift in the locus of global power, the recent invasion of Ukraine will have far-reaching consequences for China-Europe rail freight.

The Ukrainian President Zelensky claimed that Ukraine could function as the BRI’s gateway to Europe. Therefore, we cannot ignore China’s huge stake in the recent tensions over Ukraine, nor can we ignore NATO’s underlying ambition to check China’s rise in the region by limiting the sale of Ukrainian assets to China and doing everything in its capacity to thwart The Modern Silk Road.

As sanctions push Russia towards consolidating bilateral ties with China and fully integrating with the BRI, a Pan-Eurasian trading bloc may be the realignment which forces a shared governance of the global commons and a reset to the age of US exceptionalism.

7. With speculation mounting over the war’s long term impact on bilateral trade flows between China and Europe, the Russia-Ukraine conflict will catapult Israel – a leading advocate of the Great Reset – to even greater international prominence.

Israel is a highly attractive BRI market for China and the CCP is acutely aware of Israel’s importance as a strategic outpost connecting the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea through the Gulf of Suez.

Furthermore, the Chinese government has for many years acknowledged the primacy of Israel as a global technology hub and capitalised on Israel’s innovation capabilities to help meet its own strategic challenges.

Therefore, Naftali Bennet’s mediation between Moscow and Kiev is likely to factor the instrumental role of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in expanding both China and Israel’s regional and global strategic footprint.

Israel’s status as among the leading tech hubs of the future and gateway connecting Europe and the Middle East is inextricably tied to the web of physical infrastructures, such as roads, railways, ports and energy pipelines which China has been building over the past decade.

Is Israel in the formative stages of outsourcing its security interests away from the US and hedging its bets on the Sino-Russia axis?

Already a powerhouse in auto-technologies, robotics and cybersecurity, Israel aspires to be the central nation in the millennial Kingdom and the country’s tech startups are predicted to play a key role in the fourth industrial revolution.

Strengthening its evolving relationship with China amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis could help propel Israel into a regional hegemon par excellence with a large share of centralised economic and technological power converging in Jerusalem.

As Israel embarks on efforts to diversify its export markets and investments away from the United States, it begs an important question.

Is Israel in the formative stages of outsourcing its security interests away from the US and hedging its bets on the Sino-Russia axis?

8. It is now common knowledge that Digital IDs are a central plank in the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset agenda and are to be streamlined across industries, supply chains and markets as a way of advancing the UN 2030 SDGs and delivering individualised and integrated services in future smart cities.

Many have cottoned on to how such a platform can be used to usher in a global system of technocratic population control and compliance by incorporating humanity into a new corporate value chain where citizens are mined as data commodities for ESG investors and human capital bond markets and assigned a social and climate score based on how well they measure up against the UN SDGs.

This seamless verification of people and connected devices in smart environments can only take place once our biometrics, health records, finances, education transcripts, consumer habits, carbon footprint and the entire sum of human experiences is stored on an interoperable database to determine our conformity with the UN SDGs, thus forcing a monumental change to our social contract.

Vaccine passports were initially touted by public-private partnerships as an entry point for Digital IDs. Now that such a logic has run its course, how might the present geopolitical tensions contribute to scaling what is the key node in a new digital ecosystem?

Ukraine has traditionally been called Europe’s bread basket and alongside Russia, both nations are major global suppliers of staple grains. Therefore, the war has all the makings of a black swan for commodities and inflation.

With an economy teetering on the brink of collapse due to a global supply crunch, I believe the resulting economic tremors will trigger wartime emergencies across the world and the public will be told to brace themselves for rationing.

Once this takes place, the multilateral adoption of Digital IDs which interface with Central Bank Digital Currencies can be touted as the solution to efficiently manage and distribute household rations under an unprecedented state of emergency and exception.

The Bank of England has already floated the prospect of programmable cash which can only be spent on essentials or goods which an employer or government deem sensible.

Once the issuer is granted control over how it is spent by the recipient, it will become nigh impossible to function adequately without a Digital ID, which will be required to receive food parcels and obtain a basic means of subsistence. Think UBI (Universal Basic Income).

If food inflation continues on an upward trajectory with no signs of abating, governments may institute price controls in the form of rationing and ration entries could be logged on blockchain ledgers on the Digital ID to track our carbon footprint and consumptive habits during a national emergency.

9. Europe is directly in the line of fire once a hybrid war between NATO and the Sino-Russia axis is underway.

It would be remiss to ignore the clear and present danger posed by a cyber attack on banks and critical infrastructure or even a tentative and tactical nuclear exchange with intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

I can’t see how any warring party will not be limited by the doctrine of mutually assured destruction so a thermonuclear fallout is unlikely.

However, the use of remote access technologies to erase system memory from the SWIFT banking apparatus or Cross-Border Interbank Payment System can potentially render much of the international economy non-operational and send the dollar into a tailspin.

If an event of such cataclysmic proportions was to occur, it will undoubtedly lead to increasing demands to overhaul cyber security.

The fallout from such an event could very well establish a new global security protocol according to which citizens must possess a Digital ID as a necessary national security measure.

One can imagine how accessing the internet or public services in the aftermath of a nationwide cyber attack may require citizens to use a Digital ID to authenticate that their online activities and transactions are from a legitimate and non-malicious source.

There are few coincidences in politics.

10. The economic implications of this war will be so disastrous that governments and the public sector will require a significant injection of private capital to address the financing shortfall.

This will effectively render the traditional separation of powers between central banking institutions and governments obsolete, as the former will be positioned to disproportionately influence the fiscal trajectory of nation states, whose sovereignty will be hollowed out by the wholesale capture of governments by the central banks and hedge funds.

Therefore, the nation state model is gradually being upended by a global technocracy, consisting of an unelected consortium of leaders of industry, central banking oligarchs and private financial institutions, most of which are predominantly non-state corporate actors attempting to restructure global governance and enlist themselves in the global decision-making process.

Therefore, the future of international relations and the social, economic and political transformation which the world is presently undergoing in light of the pandemic and Russia-Ukraine conflict will not be decided through multilateralism and elected representatives of sovereign states.

Rather, it will be decided through a network of multi-stakeholder partnerships which are motivated by the politics of expediency and not accountable to any electorate or beholden to any state and for whom concepts like sovereignty and international law are meaningless.

Yesterday the World Council for Health held a public forum involving various experts regarding cell phone radiation, 5G, and their effects on human and ecologic health.

We provided a good preamble to this event in Yesterday’s morning post.

The meeting was disrupted by a sophisticated but perverse computer hack. It occurred early in Dr Pri Bander’s power point presentation. The hackers’ perverse images and gruesome scenes including beastiality took over the screens, and the meeting had to be shut down, before making a brief and partial recovery.

Despite all the things we have shared, considered, discussed, and exposed at the WCH, we were never hacked like this before.

Our critics may be comfortable with gruesome and perverse imagery, but they appear to be very uncomfortable with an open scientific and academic forum discussing EMF radiation, 5G, or injectable nanotechnology. What do they have to hide? What are they afraid will be revealed?

Though this exceptional WCH meeting agenda, was cut extremely short, there was some discussion. A few interesting things stand out from that. The organization 5G Virus News from Turkey exposed that Bill Gates and Microsoft, are also central and controlling players in the global 5G roll out. Why are the same people that funded “gain of function” research, and rolled out the covid agenda, viruses, and injections, also deeply invested in the simultaneous roll out of 5G?

Also before Dr Bandera was cut short, she related that current EMF levels on Earth are 10 to the power of 18 (that is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000) times higher than natural levels.

Let us not be deterred by big tech’s hack of the WCH 5G event. Rather, let it inspire us to inquire further and shine more light on these subjects: EMF, 5G, and undisclosed nanotechnology in forced covid injections.

Lastly, here are some quick tips to start reducing your exposure to dangerous EMF radiation:

never buy or use 5G devices
avoid “smart” appliances, “smart” TV’s, and other so-called “smart” devices.
set your smart phone to limit itself to 3G networks
keep your cell phone in airplane mode as much as possible, especially when it is in your pocket. There is zero transmitting of radiation from a cell phone when it is in airplane mode.
eliminate WiFi from your home by switching to a wired router system with Ethernet cables.
If you are using a WiFi router, turn it off when it is not in use. Especially when sleeping. Even if you are using internet five hours per day, that router can be unplugged or turned off the other 19 hours per day.
Avoid holding cell phones against your head to talk; rather set them on a surface and use speaker or headphone.
Maintaining some distance between your flesh and the device. The dose of microwave cell phone radiation is reduced dramatically by a little distance.
Beware that cell phones transmit strongest radiation when looking for signal, at the start of a call, and when in an area of weak signal.
Find opportunities to be in natural spaces away from cell phone radiation; and help reduce the penetration of cell phones, WiFi, and especially 5G into our world, including home, schools, and your work-place.

Interpreting BlackRock CEO's Letter to Shareholders - by Sarah Westall


BlackRock CEO Larry Fink’s annual letter to shareholders was just released today, March 24th, 2022. Fink’s company, BlackRock, is the world’s largest with $10 trillion of assets in management. They oversee even more money than the Federal Reserve. A company this size has more influence than most countries and what they do and say should be viewed with this in mind.
Fink’s letter to shareholders says more than what is on the surface. Here is a breakdown of what the letter says and what it may be really saying.

First Fink assures the world that he is a good person, that BlackRock cares about its employees and people. Anything they do is for the benefit of humanity, so their actions are good.

“War is always a humanitarian tragedy, but the indiscriminate killing of civilians has been particularly painful to witness. I am proud of BlackRock’s support for refugees fleeing their homes. In consultation with our stakeholders, BlackRock has also joined the global effort to isolate Russia from financial markets. In the past few weeks, BlackRock mobilized a philanthropic response to help those in need and support our colleagues in Europe, closest to the war. While we do not have offices or operations in Russia or Ukraine, I know that this has created a great deal of stress and uncertainty for all of our employees, particularly those in Europe, and we have worked to provide them with the resources they need.”

Whether their actions are good for humanity should not be judged based on the feel good verbiage surrounding the actual actions that they have taken. Actions should be judged separate from the emotions they want you to feel. Remember that so you can shield yourself from manipulation.

The big take away from the first part of his letter is that they are supporting the isolation of Russia from the financial markets. This means they want to help usher in the real world results that this isolation would foster. The rest of the letter lets you know some of the results they expect and want to occur.

Here are some of the highlights…

Fink states that “globalization we have experienced over the last three decades has come to an end” and he further says that “access to capital markets is a privilege, not a right.”

We have seen more governments moving to confiscate accounts and cut off the ability for people to access funds. This comment shows that the world will likely be moving more in this direction. The bold emphasis below was in the original letter:

“These actions taken by the private sector demonstrate the power of the capital markets: how the markets can provide capital to those who constructively work within the system and how quickly they can deny it to those who operate outside of it. Russia has been essentially cut off from global capital markets, demonstrating the commitment of major companies to operate consistent with core values. This “economic war” shows what we can achieve when companies, supported by their stakeholders, come together in the face of violence and aggression.”

The letter moves on to inflation and the reality that high levels of inflation will likely continue for the foreseeable future. Unemployment and hunger will be rising throughout the world.

Even before the war’s outbreak, the economic effects of the pandemic – including the shift in consumer demand from services to household goods, labor shortages, and supply chain bottlenecks – brought inflation in the US to its highest level in forty years. Across the European Union, Canada, and the UK, inflation is above 5%. Wages have not kept pace, and consumers are feeling the burden as they are confronted by lower real wages, rising energy bills and higher costs at the grocery store checkout. This is especially true for lower-wage workers who spend a higher proportion of their wages on essentials like gas, electricity, and food.

Central banks are weighing difficult decisions about how fast to raise rates. They face a dilemma they haven’t faced in decades, which has been worsened by geopolitical conflict and the resulting energy shocks. Central banks must choose whether to live with higher inflation or slow economic activity and employment to lower inflation quickly.

Fink also discusses energy and the “transition” to net zero and greater government investments.

To date, government planning has only focused on supply without addressing demand. We need public policy to take a more holistic and long-term approach to the world’s energy needs. Among other challenges, as demand for renewable sources of energy and use of clean technology increases, we must consider what this means for the underlying commodities on which these green sources of energy and technology depend. We will also need to accelerate infrastructure investments to support greater use of clean energy and technology.

BlackRock remains committed to helping clients navigate the energy transition. This includes continuing to work with hydrocarbon companies who play an essential role in the economy today and will in any successful transition.

Lastly Fink brings up the fact that the war will likely accelerate the creation of digital currencies. In light of the public declarations by central bankers that the world needs to move towards a one world digital currency, Fink’s acknowledgment that the war is accelerating this move is not surprising.

Finally, a less discussed aspect of the war is its potential impact on accelerating digital currencies. The war will prompt countries to re-evaluate their currency dependencies. Even before the war, several governments were looking to play a more active role in digital currencies and define the regulatory frameworks under which they operate. The US central bank, for example, recently launched a study to examine the potential implications of a US digital dollar. A global digital payment system, thoughtfully designed, can enhance the settlement of international transactions while reducing the risk of money laundering and corruption. Digital currencies can also help bring down costs of cross-border payments, for example when expatriate workers send earnings back to their families. As we see increasing interest from our clients, BlackRock is studying digital currencies, stablecoins and the underlying technologies to understand how they can help us serve our clients.

• "The coronavirus pandemic has no parallel in modern history. It is our defining moment."

Those are the words of Klaus Schwab, head of the World Economic Forum (WEF), in COVID-19: The Great Reset, the 2020 book he co-authored with Thierry Malleret.
"Many of us are pondering when things will return to normal," they write in the book's introduction. "The short response is: never."

At the latest WEF meeting in Davos, Switzerland, this January, Schwab set the tone for the conference with his glowing introduction of the opening speaker: Xi Jinping, China's president and chairman of the Chinese Communist Party

"Major economies should see the world as one community… and should coordinate the objectives, intensity, and pace of fiscal and monetary policies," said Xi in his address to the WEF.

This vision of a united globe with a coordinated economy managed by experts captures Schwab's vision of the post-COVID world. "We have to redefine the social contract," said Schwab at a 2020 WEF book launch event for The Great Reset.

These grand proclamations, the ominous book title, and Schwab's odd personal style have led many people to speculate that the "great reset" is part of a conspiracy of global financial elites and politicians to depopulate the planet so that they can more easily institute one-world government, or even that COVID was engineered to that end.

I don't buy it. Far-reaching, global conspiracies require levels of coordination and shared purpose likely to be quickly exposed and fall apart, especially in the networked age. Instead of spinning our wheels searching for a secret agenda, take a look at the one right out in the open.

"I think we are moving from short-term to long-term, from shareholder capitalism to stakeholder capitalism," said Schwab at his 2020book event.

What Xi, the WEF, and people like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D–Mass.) have in common is that they favor so-called stakeholder capitalism, which is a euphemism for making companies answer first to special interests. They want to reorganize corporate boards to include representatives from labor, environmental, and social justice groups. Warren proposed a bill to require 40 percent of large corporate board seats be elected by workers. In China, the state simply owns or controls a majority stake in most of the country's largest firms.

The WEF and many state leaders believe global coordination and governance is essential to manage global problems: climate change, international financial instability, and future pandemics. Ironically, it's not only Schwab's conspiratorial critics who place too much faith in central planners to manage the globe.

A crucial flaw in Schwab's theory is that it puts too much faith in the ability of governments to reengineer society in a way that better serves the needs and desires of all citizens. He wants a rethinking of capitalism that escapes "the tyranny of GDP growth" so that companies create "goods and services for the common good" instead of "maximizing profits."

But the phrase "common good" points to his fundamental misunderstanding of capitalism, which is nothing new: central planners were using this idea to maximize their own power at the expense of individual freedom back in the 1940s, when the Nobel Prize–winning economist F.A. Hayek wrote The Road to Serfdom, which would go on to sell over two million copies.

"The welfare and the happiness of millions cannot be measured on a single scale of less and more," Hayek writes, "[and] depends on a great many things that can be provided in an infinite variety of combinations."

Every single one of the billions of people who populate this planet have unique goals and desires that are impossible to reduce to a unified whole, whether that's GDP or whatever supposedly holistic metric the WEF wants to replace it with, as Hayek and his mentor Ludwig von Mises argued. Profits are a signal to entrepreneurs and investors that they are satisfying the disparate needs of their customers.

"One of the great lessons of the past five centuries in Europe and America is this: acute crises contribute to boosting the power of the state," write Schwab and Thierry in The Great Reset. "It's always been the case, and there is no reason why it should be different with the COVID-19 pandemic."

They are right that war is the health of the state, as the writer Randolph Bourne once put it, and the government's response to COVID has been similar to military conflict in terms of the cost and the chaos it has engendered. World Wars I and II and the Great Depression ushered in a powerful modern welfare and warfare state that irreversibly altered America and the world.

But is the sort of permanent expansion of state power that Schwab predicts, and which would make the world worse off in the long run, really inevitable?

I'm more optimistic this time, thanks in large part to the power of technology to provide everyday citizens with an exit. Instead of the Great Reset, in which sclerotic 20th-century institutions accumulate even more power, I think we're entering… the Great Escape.

This is possible because technological progress is outpacing the ability of the state to control and regulate it. Governments will have no choice but to abandon their efforts to construct physical and metaphorical walls. Technology can be designed to facilitate decentralization, in which the flow of money and information can't be controlled. Ideas emerge from the bottom up.

Expecting governments and international bodies to orient every large company toward some widely agreed upon "common good" assumes that many of the very institutions that bungled the COVID-19 response can competently handle the planet's most intractable problems.

My hope is that after witnessing the colossal failure of governments in the face of a global crisis, many more people will be looking for a different approach.

There's evidence everywhere of the Great Escape: The U.S. population shift away from expensive, restrictive, and poorly governed states and cities spurred by the rise of remote work, the exodus from government-run schools, the growing use of cryptocurrency, the popularity of encrypted, private communication platforms and the expanding reach of independent voices in our increasingly decentralized media.
Hayek called central planning the "fatal conceit," writing that "the curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design."

And Schwab even touches on this idea, writing that "complexity creates limits to our knowledge and understanding of things; it might thus be that today's increasing complexity literally overwhelms the capabilities of politicians in particular—and decision-makers in general—to make well informed decisions."

He dubs this quantum politics but never quite explains how policy makers will realistically overcome this dilemma.

Maybe there's record-low trust in our institutions because the people running them are attempting the impossible: planning the future for billions of people.

"Humiliating to human pride as it may be," Hayek wrote in the Constitution of Liberty, "we must recognize that the advance and even the preservation of civilization are dependent upon a maximum of opportunity for accidents to happen." Policy makers could and should be more focused on securing the freedom that allows such decentralized experimentation and accidental progress to occur.


The fear of a Great Escape—of losing control—is understandable because there are systemic risks that could destroy human civilization, including future natural or man-made pandemics, runaway inflation, and ecological disaster.

"Small boats may not survive a storm, but a giant ship is strong enough to brave a storm," said Xi in his WEF address this January.

But if we're all stuck in the same large ship in the same storm, we're all going down with it when the winds finally get bad enough.

Concentrated power itself presents an existential risk: A bad intervention applied to economies of the entire world at once can bring down the entire system. But the distributed power and humble trial-and-error of markets and decentralized governance brings progress in fits and starts with less risk of total ruin.

What Schwab, Xi, and central planners around the world miss is that when securing the rights of the individual comes first, the rest tend to follow.
