Bumping this. Russophobes will claim this was a stunt, but it looked authentic to me and I thought it was impressive. The commentary on this Telegram post, showing the same video, says:
Prigozhin visited Ukrainian prisoners of war with congratulations and tangerines. “They are the same Slavs, they have the same New Year,” explained the founder of PMC Wagner.

And here’s what Prigozhin said to them, that young boy..I hope they all get to go home to their families and live a long, happy life.

Although previously documented on this thread in parts here's Vladimir Putin's full New Year address sourced via the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with English subtitles:

    Duration: approx 7 minutes

    Source: https://t.me/MFARussia/14483

    Text:
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s New 2023 Year address now available with English subtitles!

    Key points:

1️⃣ 2022 was a year full of crucial and decisive events. It became a turning point that will shape the foundation of our shared future and Russia’s true independence.

2️⃣ Russia has once again proven that its sovereign, independent and safe future depends on its peoples, their strength and willpower.

3️⃣ For years the Western elites have been hypocritically ensuring us of their “peaceful intentions”, including the intent to find a solution to the acute Donbass crisis.

4️⃣ Turns out, the West has been lying to us about peace while preparing for an aggression. Now it openly admits it without a hint of shame.

5️⃣ The West uses Ukraine and its people to weaken and split Russia apart, but we will never allow this to happen.

6️⃣ Russia’s struggle for its interests and future is an example to others.
For the record it is now in the library, here:

“If a man does not keep pace with [fall into line with] his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” - Thoreau

Here it is. It was a press conference (questions from Russian journalists), that took place on 22 December 2022.
This really is a most excellent demonstration of statesman-like presence both of mind and body that would put nearly all 'western' leaders to shame.

I've saved both the entire text (here) and the video, with English subtitles, here: (48 minutes duration)

Maybe it's time for congress to change the way bills are written. First, one subject only no additional hang ons. Second a maximum number of pages for a bill, say 300-500 pages and no larger. Third, all proposed bills and bills passed must be published for the public to review.

I would not say that is the issue.

Everything is published; we can see things like "Cannabis Reform Act", and then some barely-distinguishable variation like "The Katherine Whitley Cannabis Reform Act", and amuse ourselves watching them go round in circles, like those are ten years old and so far nothing.

Riders or "hang ons" are usually strong-arm negotiating tactics between two adversaries.

I have issues with what gets approved or not, e. g. "Fast-track Covid Vaccines" instead of "Cannabis Reform".

Because enormous amounts of money and deadly weapons in the hands of "these people" is utterly unacceptable, I do not see the justification for the existence of such powerful positions at the federal level. It makes no sense that I should be under the same government as Idaho and Alabama in order for that to even be possible. My best guess is that a few blocs of American States--and some provincial European regions like the Duchies that Germany was mainly formed of--might behave tolerably without any kind of a "Union" or "United".

Map hacks like Kosovo probably would not work too well.

Chances are that the United Unions are not going to surrender because I would like them to. I will check with my fiction writers about that. However I think there is a strong chance they are completely capable of self-destruction. One of the few encouraging facts I have ever come across is that the CIA can fail. If I cannot wish the government away, its avid pursuit of "does not work" may handle that for me.

The angles of corruption that are coming together as more than perhaps just rumors are quite impressive.

Confessions by Hollande and Merkel are ‘formalization of betrayal’ – top Russian senator
The West has proven it only cares about territory in Ukraine, not people, Konstantin Kosachev says

Thousands of people have lost their lives in eastern Ukraine since 2014 because the West treated the Minsk agreements as scrap paper, the vice speaker of Russia’s upper house of parliament said on Saturday.

Senator Konstantin Kosachev was reacting to an admission by former French president Francois Hollande that the Minsk agreements were actually a ploy to buy time for the Kiev government to strengthen its military. This move should be credited for Ukraine’s “successful resilience” to Russia in the ongoing conflict with its neighbor, he added.

Hollande was echoing a statement by former German chancellor Angela Merkel, who described the Minsk accords in December as “an attempt to give Ukraine time” to build up its armed forces.

The Minsk-1 and Minsk-2 deals were signed in 2014 and 2015 following mediation by Germany, France and Russia. They were designed to put an end to fighting between Kiev and the People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk by giving them special status within the Ukrainian state. Kiev’s failure to implement those agreements has been cited as one of the reasons for Moscow launching its military operation on February 24

“For the West, the territorial integrity of Ukraine is all about control over land and not about achieving social consensus. It’s about territory, not people. It’s about violence, not negotiations,” Kosachev wrote on Telegram.

This approach “directly contradicts so-called European values,” he said. The senator noted that Western attitudes towards the territorial integrity of the UK and Spain have been completely different in the face of Scotland and Catalonia’s push for independence.

“The confessions by Merkel and Hollande are a formalization of betrayal… The price of this betrayal is thousands of human lives lost over the past eight years of civil war in Ukraine. The civil war that the West didn’t stop by treating the Minsk agreements as scrap paper,” Kosachev wrote.

According to the UN estimates, more than 14,000 people were killed in Donbass between 2014 and early 2022.

The only co-author of the Minsk agreements that genuinely tried to act as a guarantor was Russia, the senator claimed. Moscow sided with the people and left the territorial issue aside for as long as “it was still possible to implement the Minsk accord,” he added.

The People’s Republic of Donetsk and Lugnask, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, joined the Russian state in autumn after holding referendums. Kiev and its Western backers have called the votes a “sham” and refused to recognize the results.

Türkiye agrees to withdraw troops from Syria following Moscow talks – media

The tripartite negotiations involving Ankara and Damascus were the first of their kind since the Syrian conflict began in 2011

Türkiye has agreed to fully withdraw its troops from northern Syria following tripartite talks involving Moscow, Ankara and Damascus earlier this week, Syrian newspaper Al-Watan has reported.

The three countries’ defense ministers – Hulusi Akar, Ali Mahmoud Abbas and Sergey Shoigu – met in Moscow on Wednesday for the first meeting of its kind since the outbreak of the Syrian conflict in 2011.

According to the paper’s source in Damascus, the negotiations resulted in “Türkiye’s consent to completely withdraw its troops from the Syrian territories that it occupies in the north of the country.”

Ankara and Damascus also expressed a common view that the Syrian-based Kurdish YPG militia, which Turkey associates with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), “are agents of Israel and the US, and pose a grave threat to both Türkiye and Syria.”

Türkiye considers the separatist PKK and allied Kurdish groups to be “terrorist organizations” that threaten its national security. The Turkish military carried out airstrikes against YPG targets in northern Syria in November, with Ankara saying a ground operation in the area was also on the cards.

A special trilateral commission will be created by Russia, Türkiye and Syria to ensure that the agreements reached in Moscow are honored, Al-Watan reported.

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar told local media on Saturday that “one shouldn’t expect that everything will be solved at once in a single meeting.”

In Moscow, Türkiye “emphasized that we respect Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereign rights, and that our only goal is the fight against terrorism” including the PKK/YPG and Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), he said.

Ankara and Damascus have agreed to continue talks to deepen reconciliation, Akar added. He also suggested that those negotiations could even result in a joint anti-terrorist operation involving the two countries, which would happen “if we can solve our problems related to defense and security, if we can meet our needs.”

The Syrian side had earlier described the meeting in the Russian capital as “positive,” while Russia’s Defense Ministry said the talks had been conducted in a constructive manner and stressed the need for the continuation of such engagement.

Serbia likens Kosovo's ideology to Nazism

Celebrating a collaborator with Hitler's Germany shows Pristina's sympathies, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said

The true beliefs of Kosovo's ethnic Albanian prime minister are clear from his push to restore the home of a German spy and Nazi collaborator from the Second World War, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday.

Speaking with reporters in Belgrade, Vucic pointed out that the government of Albin Kurti is restoring the house of "Nazi war criminal" Xhafer Deva in Kosovska Mitrovica.

"This is why they put up monuments to, and brag about the Ballist movement being their past, present and future," Vucic said, referring to the World War II Albanian nationalist movement Balli Kombetar (National Front). "Nazism. The 'great' Xhafer Deva - a war criminal, who persecuted Serbs, Jews and all others."

Deva was minister of the interior in the pro-German government of Albania, set up in 1943, and a founder of the Second League of Prizren, an Albanian nationalist organization. After the war, he fled to the US, where he worked with the CIA and launched the Third League of Prizren. Both leagues were modeled after the 1889 original, which sought to establish a greater Albanian state and claimed territories belonging to present-day Serbia, Montenegro, Greece and North Macedonia.

Kurti's Vetevendosje party advocates for such a "Natural Albania" and he has been photographed with maps of its envisioned borders. Between that and Kurti's fondness for former Albanian strongman Enver Hoxha, it's little wonder he and current Albanian PM Edi Rama don't get along, Vucic argued.

"He wants to be a bit of Enver Hoxha and a bit of [Vladimir] Zelensky," Vucic told reporters, referring to the president of Ukraine, a darling of numerous Western mainstream media outlets and governments. "But all he can do is dream these dreams."

The Serbian president spoke after meeting with Nikola Nedeljkovic, a 20-year-old Serb who had been jailed in Kosovo for "inciting ethnic hatred," over a T-shirt that showed the breakaway province as part of Serbia.

NATO took control of Kosovo in 1999, after months-long bombing of Serbia on behalf of ethnic Albanian insurgents. The province's provisional government declared independence in 2008, with US and EU backing. With support from Russia and China, Serbia has resisted pressure to recognize it ever since.

    • NY Times Pro-Ukraine War Propaganda Hits Laughable New Low:

Joe Biden and Valerie Nuland said the U.S. wouldn’t allow the Nord Stream pipeline to go forward if Russia invaded Ukraine, then Russia invaded Ukraine, the pipeline got blown up and Secretary of State Antony Blinken called it a “great opportunity.” Yet the New York Times remains puzzled by this one question: who blew up the Nord Stream pipeline??? At least that’s the only conclusion one can draw from a recent Times piece in which the writers seem genuinely confused why Russia would blow up its own pipeline. Jimmy and Revolutionary Black Network’s Nick Cruse discuss the borderline comical Times story and how anyone could keep a straight face while reading, to say nothing of writing, it.

Ironically, it was Ukraine’s MSM, namely the Kiev Post which published a carefully documented study on the Neo-Nazi Summer training camp for young children.

In recent developments, the article below which reveals extensive crimes against Ukrainian children, is categorised as pro-Kremlin propaganda.

Remote viewing in the Ukraine conflict?

Maybe. I've just had an interesting exchange with Bill about this in our Discord chat area.

It shouldn't be ruled out given that this would constitute another sub-strate of the hybridised warfare going on and I'd imagine is being employed, by the CIA for the Ukrainians, and by the Russians who used to be - and still might be - quite some way ahead in this.

This was brought to my attention quite randomly whilst watching Columbo Goes to the Guillotine (1989) where mention is made of this psychic faculty and the 'Soviets'.

The two prominent scientists behind the Soviet era research were Vlail Kaznacheyev, described as an authority on ESP, and Konstantin Buteyko.

Bill recommends the following book which we have in the library for those of you interested in this phenomena: Psychic Discoveries behind the Iron Curtain which can be read here
    .
The work of Kaznacheyev and Buleyko in part inspired the CIA funded Stanford Research Institute (SRI) 'Stargate' program overseen by Puthoff and Targ which took place in the 1970s - all several thousand of those now unclassified documents are in the library but with the CIA labelling so not titled helpfully. Still worth a browse though..

In his update today, Alexander Mercouris devotes most of his hour long video to a very detailed (and very interesting) analysis of Putin's New Year Address to the Nation. That speech is reported in full below.

For Mercouris' breakdown of the entire thing, including nuances that even many Russians may have missed, start in at 7:14.

Here's Putin's speech in full. (The Kremlin page linked here also shows a video with English captions.)
New Year Address to the Nation

    President of Russia Vladimir Putin:

    Citizens of Russia, friends,
The year 2022 is drawing to a close. It was a year of difficult but necessary decisions, of important steps towards Russia's full sovereignty and a powerful consolidation of our society.

It was a year that put many things in their place, and drew a clear line between courage and heroism, on the one hand, and betrayal and cowardice on the other, showed us that there is nothing stronger than love for our near and dear, loyalty to our friends and comrades-in-arms, and devotion to our Fatherland.

It was a year of truly pivotal, even fateful events. They became the frontier where we lay the foundation for our common future, our true independence.

This is what we are fighting for today, protecting our people in our historical territories in the new regions of the Russian Federation. Together, we are building and creating.

Russia’s future is what matters the most. Defending our Motherland is the sacred duty we owe to our ancestors and descendants. The moral and historical truth is on our side.

The outgoing year has brought great and dramatic changes to our country and to the world. It was filled with uncertainty, anxiety and worry.

But our multiethnic nation showed great courage and dignity as it had in every challenging period in Russian history, supported the defenders of our Fatherland, our soldiers and officers, and all participants in the special military operation, in both word and deed.

We have always known that Russia's sovereign, independent and secure future depends only on us, on our strength and determination, and today, we have become convinced of it once again.

For years, Western elites hypocritically assured us of their peaceful intentions, including to help resolve the serious conflict in Donbass. But in fact, they encouraged the neo-Nazis in every possible way, who continued to take military and overtly terrorist action against peaceful civilians in the people's republics of Donbass.

The West lied to us about peace while preparing for aggression, and today, they no longer hesitate to openly admit it and to cynically use Ukraine and its people as a means to weaken and divide Russia. We have never allowed anyone to do this and we will not allow it now.

Russian servicemen, militiamen and volunteers are now fighting for their homeland, for truth and justice, for reliable guarantees of peace and Russia’s security. They are all our heroes and they are shouldering the heaviest burden right now.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish a very happy New Year to every participant in the special military operation, to those who are here next to me now, and who are on the frontline, those getting ready for action at training centres, those who are in hospitals or already back home, having fulfilled their duty, to all those now on combat duty in strategic units, and all personnel of the Russian Armed Forces.

    Comrades,
thank you for your valiant service. Our entire vast country is proud of your fortitude, endurance and courage. Millions of people are with you in their hearts and souls, and will be raising a toast to you at their New Year's table.

Many thanks to everyone who provides ancillary support for military operations: drivers and railway workers who deliver supplies to the front, doctors, paramedics, and nurses who are fighting for soldiers’ lives and nursing wounded civilians. I thank the workers and engineers at our military and other plants who are working today with great dedication, builders who are erecting civilian facilities and defensive fortifications, and helping to restore the destroyed cities and villages in Donbass and Novorossiya.

    Friends,
Russia has been living under sanctions since the events in Crimea in 2014, but this year, a full-blown sanctions war has been unleashed against us. Those who started it expected our industry, finances and transport to collapse and never recover.

This did not happen, because together we created a reliable margin of safety. We have been taking steps and measures towards strengthening our sovereignty in a vitally important field, in the economy. Our struggle for our country, for our interests and for our future undoubtedly serves as an inspiring example for other states in their quest for a just multipolar world order.

I consider it very important that in the outgoing year, such qualities as mercy, solidarity and proactive empathy have become especially important in Russia. More and more Russians feel the need to help others. They rally together and take initiative without any formal instructions.

I want to thank you for being so considerate, responsible and kind, for your active involvement in the common cause regardless of age or income. You arrange warehouses and transport to deliver parcels to our fighters in the combat zone, to the residents of affected cities and towns, and help organise holidays for children from the new constituent entities of the Federation.

My friends, you are providing great support to the families of the fighters who perished, who gave their lives defending the lives of others.

I know how difficult it is for their wives, sons and daughters, and for their parents, who raised real heroes; I understand how they feel now, on New Year's Eve. We will make every effort to help the families of our fallen comrades raise their children, give them a good education, and get a profession.

With all my heart, I share your pain and ask you to accept my sincere words of support.

    Friends,
Our country has always celebrated the start of the New Year, even during very difficult times. It has always been everyone’s favourite holiday, and has a magical power to reveal the best in people, to heighten the importance of traditional family values, the energy of kindness, generosity and trust.

As we see the New Year in, everyone strives to give joy to their loved ones, to show them attention and warmth, to give them presents they have been dreaming of, to see the delight in children’s eyes and parents’ touching gratitude for our attention. The older generation knows how to appreciate such moments of happiness.

Friends, now is the best moment to leave all personal grievances and misunderstandings in the past, to tell our nearest and dearest how we feel, how much we love them, how important it is to take care of each other – always, at any time.

Let these heartfelt words and noble feelings give each of us immense strength and confidence that together, we will overcome all the challenges and keep our country great and independent.

We will only move forward, to fight for our families and for Russia, for the future of our only, beloved Motherland.

Happy New Year, friends! Happy 2023!

Sounds like Russia has something to celebrate and do this year.

When I look around, I don't really get anything.

Was I missing something? I just read an article on what happened. I was about to run this through the canard-o-matic to have it auto-detected and sanitized as "enemy propaganda", but, I soon realized there is no need to question Multiple Fatalities, Dozens of Injuries:

From cops in New York injured in a shocking machete attack near Times Square, to shootings at festivals and parties, one of America’s most dangerous holidays lived up to its reputation this year.

At least 8 people were killed and 25 injured in Wisconsin, Alabama, Louisiana, Virginia, Chicago, Oklahoma, and Michigan as New Year’s celebrations across the US turned violent Saturday night.

Skipping that several of these were in fact "mass shootings", the article then informs me:

But according to a study published on the seasonal pattern of mass shootings in the US, the months of May through September are typically when most mass shootings occur, whereas October through April see less instances of mass shootings.

It's so friendly! They have helped me on my way to enjoying a statistically-less-shooting holiday. If I hurry, I can do it again for Easter. Big plans coming up here! You bet we are going to make the most of this until that dreadful Memorial Day rolls round. That's when you better duck. And, you better watch what you say, and, it's probably best not to know anybody, and, if you shoot first, they can't.

The Year is dead, long live the Year.

Well, it is also thought to be the end of 500 years of conquistador colonialism and of:

(Protestantism as a schismatic, splintering protest opinion movement has in itself no roots to return to).

As regards the current versions of Western Christianity, Protestantism (1517-2017) is largely a spent force within the Western world, its 500-year best before date is up. Just as it was launched by printing technology, it has been ended by internet technology.

The once full churches of Protestantism close down in their hundreds every year in the Western world. It was what it was, a moralising and White Supremacist blip in history, both for good, as in keeping promises, honesty, integrity and moral uprightness, and for bad, as in the ruthless and unsustainable exploitation of human and natural resources, including slavery, the obsession with money and saving money, as well as boring and iconoclastic philistinism caused by narrow-minded bigotry, and the tragic, rigid, literalist, moralising, unnatural and pharisaical repression of human nature, causing crass hypocrisy and misogyny, to the point of the slaughter of women as ‘witches’.

It had played a role as shown in a much larger article about the fraudulent world economy:

J.P. Morgan, who was deeply involved with the Pilgrims – an exclusive club that linked major U.K. and U.S. businesspeople – was clearly perceived as an upright Protestant guardian of capitalism, who could trace his family roots to pre-Revolutionary times, so by acting in the interests of the London Rothschilds he shielded their American profits from the poison of anti-Semitism.

We have things that are kind of "over" without anything, new or old, to turn to.

The stark contrast between the narratives provided by Russia/Putin, and that of the supposed 'good guys' of Zelensky, and the NATO spokespeople, western leaders is very telling to me, nobody on the West's side offers anything truthful, or hard hitting realism it is always filled with obvious cliches, platitudes, forced 'aren't we good guys!' type speeches. The absolute absence of a realistic view of what Russia actually is, its people and culture, its political nature and how far it has come since the Soviet days shows us that the West is acting in bad faith, we don't have the moral high ground, we lack all conviction beyond a sense of entitlement - the sheer magnitude of lies and distorted history, we cannot stand!
Contrast this with the very grounded, unadorned speech from Putin, its basis in historical depth, the practical, good willed objectives. There is nothing about hyperbole, or overtly marshal speech from Russia, only pragmatic, matter-of-fact ego-less description of their objectives.
I find myself hoping Russia crushes the criminal empire that the Neo-cons represent, vanquishes the corrupt NATO alliance which has drifted so far from its original platform!
The truth is so very different than what western folks are being presented with, perhaps this emerging multi-polar world will end the WEF dominance of western politics/economics; I find myself wishing the Russians a speedy victory, I am ashamed of the Western corruption and the criminals that now dominate NATO, Russian language is so much clearer and more akin to truth.

The sad reality is that Zelensky the actor is only doing the bidding of the western mafia at the expense of Ukrainians' lives, about whom he doesn't care at all.
