This may sound oxymoronic but it is quite the opposite, due to a general misperception about what hope actually is.

The authors of a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Sunday called out the “relentless, coercive pressure” the White House put on social media companies to censor COVID-19-related information that contradicted the government and mainstream media narrative.

Jenin Younes and Dr. Aaron Kheriaty detailed key parts of an email exchange between Robert Flaherty, the White House’s director of digital strategy and social media executives.

The emails emerged Jan. 6 in the discovery phase of Missouri v. Biden, a free-speech lawsuit brought by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana and four private plaintiffs represented by the New Civil Liberties Alliance.

Younes is litigation counsel at the New Civil Liberties Alliance and represents the private plaintiffs in Missouri v. Biden. Kheriaty is a psychiatrist and author of three books, a senior scholar at the Brownstone Institute, a fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and one of the plaintiffs.

The emails are the latest in a slew of evidence — made public through lawsuits, Freedom of Information Act requests and the “Twitter files” — that emerged in the last few months exposing “a sprawling censorship regime involving the White House, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and other agencies.”

This included targeting tweets by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., chairman and chief litigation counsel of Children’s Health Defense, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson and others.

In their op-ed, Younes and Kheriaty cited the text of emails between Flaherty and a Facebook executive. Flaherty accuses Facebook of being “one of the top drivers of vaccine hesitancy” and demands to know how the social media platform is working to change this on Facebook and WhatsApp.

Facebook responded with an extensive list of policy changes, including “removing vaccine misinformation,” “reducing the virality of content discouraging vaccines that does not contain actionable misinformation” and removing accounts “sensationalizing” what they acknowledged was “often true content.”

Unsatisfied with the results, Flaherty continued to pressure Facebook:

“Mr. Flaherty pressed the executive about why ‘the top post about vaccines today’ is Tucker Carlson ‘saying they don’t work’: ‘I want to know what ‘Reduction’ actually looks like,’ he said. The exec responded: ‘Running this down now.”

The documents reveal that Flaherty “also strong-armed Google in April 2021, accusing YouTube (which it owns) of ‘funneling’ people into vaccine hesitancy. He said this concern was ‘shared at the highest (and I mean the highest) levels of the WH,’ and required ‘more work to be done.’”

Younes and Kheriaty also pointed out that President Biden, then-press secretary Jen Psaki and Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy publicly vowed to hold the platforms accountable if they didn’t heighten censorship.

They wrote:

“On July 16, 2021, a reporter asked Mr. Biden his ‘message to platforms like Facebook.’ He replied, ‘They’re killing people.’ Mr. Biden later claimed he meant users, not platforms, were killing people. But the record shows Facebook itself was the target of the White House’s pressure campaign.”

According to Younes and Kheriaty, the recently uncovered emails establish a clear pattern of the White House, represented by Flaherty, expressing anger at the companies’ failure to satisfactorily censor COVID-19 content. The companies changed their policies in response to his demands.

“As a result of that unconstitutional state action, Americans were given the false impression of a scientific ‘consensus’ on critically important issues around Covid-19,” the authors of the op-ed wrote. “A reckoning for the government’s unlawful, deceptive and dangerous conduct is under way in court.”

Major FAA outage halts all domestic flight departures in the U.S.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it had "ordered airlines to pause all domestic departures until 9 a.m. Eastern Time to allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information."

Departing flights across the United States were grounded Wednesday morning after the Federal Aviation Administration said it had experienced a computer outage.

The FAA said later that it had ordered all airlines to pause domestic departures until 9 a.m. ET.

More than 4,000 flights within, to and out of the U.S. were delayed as of around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, according to the online flight tracker FlightAware. Nearly 700 flights were listed as canceled.

The FAA said on its website that its Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system had “failed.” NOTAM contains information essential to workers involved in flight operations.

"Operations across the National Airspace System are affected," the agency said in a statement.

In an update posted to Twitter just before 7:20 a.m., the FAA said it was ordering airlines to pause all domestic departures until 9 a.m. ET "to allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information." It said it was still working to fully restore the NOTAM system.

In subsequent updates, it said that all flights in the sky were safe to land and that departures had resumed in some places "due to air traffic congestion."

"Pilots check the NOTAM system before they fly. A Notice to Air Missions alerts pilots about closed runways, equipment outages, and other potential hazards along a flight route or at a location that could affect the flight," the agency said.

Just after 8:10 a.m., it said departures had resumed at two airports, Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, due to air traffic congestion.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a tweet that there was "no evidence of a cyberattack at this point," and added that President Joe Biden had directed the Department of Transportation to conduct a full investigation into the causes. She added: “The FAA will provide regular updates.”

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said in a tweet that he had "been in touch with FAA this morning about an outage affecting a key system for providing safety information to pilots."

"FAA is working to resolve this issue swiftly and safely so that air traffic can resume normal operations, and will continue to provide updates," he said.

United Airlines said it had temporarily delayed all domestic flights until at least 10 a.m. The airline said it would issue an update when it learned more from the FAA about the situation.

Southwest Airlines said it was "closely monitoring" the situation and that it "may impact the start of operations" Wednesday.

"An FAA system outage is causing ground stops at AUS and other airports across the country," the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport said in a tweet.

"Arriving & departing passengers can expect delays this morning & through the day," it said, adding: "Please stay in contact with your airline & check your flight status before heading to AUS."

The news came after a number of social media users said they had been affected by the situation. It also appeared to have affected some flights into the U.S.

A number of airports outside the U.S. said operations were continuing as normal, but the international airport operator Aéroports de Paris, or Airports of Paris, said all flights by American airline companies would be delayed until further notice. It said non-American airlines were flying out as normal without interruption.

Air France said all of its U.S.-bound flights were operating as planned and were not affected by the FAA computer outage. The airline said it continued to monitor the situation.

"As far as we are aware, we are still operating to/from the U.S. at the moment," a spokesperson for Gatwick Airport in London said.

A spokesperson for Frankfurt Airport in Germany said the FAA outage had not affected its operations.

Perhaps they will bring about so many restrictions and bring about "green" laws that the average person will have to continue to buy things to modify and protect themselves from all of the harmful "un-green" evil stuff in our lives. They could inundate us with so many costs to our homes (all to keep us safe, right?) that it will become too expensive to own your home.

Real-estate is already over priced so that stops new home owners from purchasing. Then you create laws to push out those who own their home outright. Regardless how small it is, they could force enough "green" modifications onto a home to break a person's bank account. Or, let the government take control of your home and you can get a huge cash break on the modifications required to be "green".

Gas stoves cause cardiac events apparently. But needless to say this is disingenuous. There are at least two birds to kill with this stone, 1) reduce gas consumption revenue and 2) blame anything but the you-know-what for cardiac events.

They didn't like that gas pipeline, and claimed it was destroyed by you-know-who. People don't actually care about you-know-who but we do like to cook our dinner.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is resigning.

Her final day in office will be on 7 February - and a general election has been called for 14 October.

Ms Ardern, who became New Zealand's prime minister in 2017, said: "I believe that leading a country is the most privileged job anyone could ever have, but also one of the more challenging.

"You cannot, and should not do it, unless you have a full tank, plus a bit in reserve for those unexpected challenges.

"This summer I had hoped to find a way to prepare not just for another year, but for another term, because that is what this year requires.

"I have not been able to do that."

Choking back tears, she continued: "And so today I'm announcing that I will not be seeking reelection, and that my term as prime minister will conclude no later than 7 February."

I don’t doubt the news is true. My point is that the video of the people jumping for joy were doing so for a different reason.

Yep, the video is a fake. But be that as it may.

I am afraid I do not get too exited anymore when puppets resign or are taken down, there is always a replacement to keep the systemic agenda going, the oppressive control policies keep rolling out no matter who is Prime Minister/President. Those people are just figureheads to keep the masses focused on blaming someone identifiable, and hoping that if only that bad puppet would go, things will improve. They wont. Not until there is a systemic change, and the catalyst for systemic change will never be a person or political group - it will happen prompted by complete breakdown in the system itself. IMO, FWIW.
