Since the millenium, we have entered the era of domination by Sorath - who is consuming Ahriman, as Ahriman consumed Lucifer

These is a scheme of interpretation of the nature of evil; and it has general applicability. I'm not sure if this should be a new thread, but I can't work-out how to post a new thread; so I shall include it here because I believe it has special relevance to the NATO-Russia war in Ukraine.

I have derived and adapted a typology of evil from the work of Rudolf Steiner - the terms and many ideas are from Steiner, but there are also very significant differences.

My idea here is that the Ahrimanic impulse - which is evil in its cold, rational, systematic manifestation - has over the past couple of centuries consumed the more traditional Luciferic evil of short-termist personal lust, pleasure and torment. And the Ahrimanic type of evil is now being-consumed, in his turn, by Sorathic evil.

The archetypal Ahrimanic evil is epitomized by a manipulative bureaucrat who presides over a state or corporate PSYOPS/prison/death machine or System; while Luciferic evil would be characterized by proximate evil: for example those who personally beat, rape and torture helpless prisoners.

The final turning-point of the Ahrimanic consumption of Lucifer was when the partial Luciferic revival of the 1960s ('sex & drugs & rock-n-roll') was captured by the state bureaucracy - leading to a pervasive and intrusive system of monitoring and control for political correctness.

Modern leaders are primarily Ahrimanic - and often anonymous/ hidden/ personally-timid; while old-style leaders (e.g. mid twentieth century dictators) were often Luciferic gangsters and pirates who cultivated a reputation for recklessness and the personal enjoyment of inflicting cruelty and gratifying lusts. Luciferic evil now operates at a low-level in The System - among the mooks, minions and henchmen; while the ruling architects of evil have an Ahrimanic nature.

The Luciferic values were condensed and operationalised into systemic and materialist form; their spontaneity and pleasure were drained-away. 'Free Love' and open-ended promiscuity became compulsory sensitivity-training, and the threat of harrasment prosecutions. Spontaneity ("Turn-on, Tune-in, Drop-out") was incrementaly transformed into a world of proliferating committees, laws, guidelines and procedures; checklists, forms and feedback...

But from about 2000; there was a further move towards the purest, most absolutely negative form of evil - which could be named Sorathic (adapting this from Rudolf Steiner's identification of Sorath as the most extremely evil of beings).

Sorthic evil is neither about pleasure nor about control; it tends towards the purely destructive.

If Luciferic evil is motivated by short-termist pleasure; while Ahrimanic evil is motivated by God-denial, spiritual blindness and reductionism towards a meaningless world of mechanical procedures; then the Sorathic impulse is driven by negative impulses - primarily fear, resentment and hatred.

Sorathic evil will therefore tend to destroy both the lustful pleasures of Lucuferic evil, and the complex functional bureaucracies of Ahrimanic evil.

This is the Sorathic world we inhabit in 2020.

A world in which the Luciferic lusts of sex/ drugs and the rock-and-roll lifestyle are forbidden and punished; and also a world in which the global system is being disabled and destroyed - even as its Ahrimanic architects have successfully accomplished a silent global coup (i.e. early 2020, rationalized by Covid), and are trying to perfect it into the grandiose schemes of The Great Reset/ Agenda 2030.

In 2020 we observe all modern institutions, corporations and every kind of bureaucracy as rapidly declining in efficiency and effectiveness - under pressure from an ever-increasing culture of fear, victimology, entitlement and resentment.

Sorath divides Mankind into more-and-more, smaller-and-smaller, self-identified victim groups; each resentful-of and pitted-against each other. The aim is eventually for each person to feel alone, consumed by feelings of thwarted entitlement, and hatred of the world; and living in permanent fear of a whole world of other people, each of whom resents and hates the solo-victim just as he hates them.

And then - eventually - Sorath's intent is that everyone, without exception, should die in fear and despair.

Thus we see that Sorath takes Luciferic and Ahrimanic and pits the one against the other, to weaken and destroy both.

Whatever gives pleasure is thwarted. Whatever has been created, and is complex or functional, is reduced to chaos.

Chaos is indeed the key term.

Ultimately, 'Sorath' is driven by resentment directed against God and all of His works; and resentment of Man as a loving creating-being and all of his works. Sorath wants to reduce creation back to a primal state of chaos.

And then - when all else has been destroyed - to destroy himself as a act of spite against the God who created him.

    Such is Sorath's fantasy.

My interpretation of the Ukraine war is that it represents a triumph of Sorathic-destructive evil, which is tending to destroy the worldwide Ahrimanic-bureaucratic evil which peaked in early 2020 - by stimulating the hatreds and sadism of an already-corrupt global leadership-class.

I have found this a useful way of thinking about recent and current trends, and offer it here as a possibility for consideration.

U.S. strategic bomber B-52H Stratofortress worked out the possibility of launching a missile attack on St. Petersburg

    Yesterday, 06: 59

The United States continues the practice of provocations near the Russian borders, this time the Americans have worked out the possibility of launching a missile attack on St. Petersburg using the B-52H Stratofortress strategic bomber. Data on the flight route of the American strategist was provided by the Flightradar service.

The US Air Force B-52H strategic bomber worked out an attack on the Russian northern capital, entering the city from the Baltic Sea near Gogland Island, while being in neutral airspace. According to the service, the American bomber took off from the territory of Poland, after which it flew over the Baltic Sea towards the Russian city, simulated a missile attack over the Gulf of Finland, after which it turned around and went to the base through the Baltic airspace. During the "attack" the American strategist was at a distance of 200 km from St. Petersburg.

According to experts, with the help of the B-52H Stratofortress, the United States worked out a scenario for breaking through the anti-missile and air defense of the North-Western group of the Russian army with nuclear missile strikes on military and industrial facilities in the area.

It is worth noting that this is not the first incident of this kind near the Russian borders in general, and near St. Petersburg in particular. American B-52H strategists have already simulated an attack on the city, since they have plenty of opportunities for this, given that the Baltic states are happy to provide the Americans with their airspace. Attacks of this kind were practiced on Kaliningrad, as well as on the Crimea. In the Far East, the Americans continue to periodically harass the air defense of Kamchatka, trying to open the air defense scheme.

The last "attack" by American strategists took place at the end of February of this year, when two bombers attacked St. Petersburg from Estonia.

    US-Ukraine unity is cracking apart

POLITICO reports there are growing differences between Washington and Kyiv
by Dave DeCamp Posted onMarch 12, 2023CategoriesNewsTagsUkraine
Over one year since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, there are growing differences between Washington and Kyiv on how to move forward in the conflict, POLITICO reported Sunday.

One issue is over Bakhmut, the eastern Ukrainian city where Russian and Ukrainian forces have been locked in battle for over eight months. Biden administration officials think Ukraine has expended too many resources defending Bakhmut and worry it will impact their ability to launch a counteroffensive this spring, but officials in Kyiv have decided to keep fighting for the city.

Another point of contention is over Crimea as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insists they will retake the peninsula, which has been under Russian control since 2014 and is populated by people who are happy to be part of the Russian Federation.

While some Biden administration officials have vowed support for Ukrainian attacks on Crimea, the POLITICO report said other US officials believe Zelensky’s insistence that there will be no peace talks until the peninsula is taken will only prolong the war. But publicly, President Biden and other US officials maintain that negotiations will only happen under Kyiv’s terms.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has also acknowledged the risk of escalation that would come with a Ukrainian attempt on Crimea, calling it a “red line” for Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the Pentagon has said it’s unlikely Kyiv can take the peninsula.

The US also appears to be tired of Zelensky’s constant demands for weapons. Two White House officials told POLITICO that there are “grumblings” in Washington over Zelesnky’s constant requests and lack of gratitude. Despite the massive amount of support provided by the US and its allies, Ukrainian officials have frequently said that it’s “not enough” and are demanding fighter jets and longer-range missiles.

The POLITICO report mentioned the Nord Stream sabotage and how US officials are now linking the attack to Ukraine while insisting the Ukrainian government was not involved. But the vague claims are likely an attempt to shift blame from the US following the bombshell report from investigative journalist Seymour Hersh that alleged President Biden ordered the bombing of the pipelines.

Publicly, Biden still maintains he will support Ukraine “for as long as it takes,” but there are other signs that the US is thinking about winding down its support. CIA Director William Burns visited Kyiv in January and told Zelensky that Congress might not pass any more massive aid packages for the war. Ukrainian officials are concerned that the administration might use Congress as an excuse to scale down assistance.

‘Rigorous’ Maidan massacre exposé suppressed by top academic journal
    KIT KLARENBERG·MARCH 12, 2023

A peer-reviewed paper initially approved and praised by a prestigious academic journal was suddenly rescinded without explanation. Its author, one of the world’s top scholars on Ukraine-related issues, had marshaled overwhelming evidence to conclude Maidan protesters were killed by pro-coup snipers.

The massacre by snipers of anti-government activists and police officers in Kiev’s Maidan Square in late February 2014 was a defining moment in the US-orchestrated overthrow of Ukraine’s elected government. The death of 70 protesters triggered an avalanche of international outrage that made President Viktor Yanukovych’s downfall a fait accompli. Yet today these killings remain unsolved.

Enter Ivan Katchanovski, a Ukrainian-Canadian political scientist at the University of Ottawa. For years, he marshaled overwhelming evidence demonstrating that the snipers were not affiliated with Yanukovych’s government, but pro-Maidan operatives firing from protester-occupied buildings.

Though Katchanovski’s groundbreaking has been studiously ignored by the mainstream media, a scrupulous study he presented on the slaughter in September 2015 and August 2021 and published in 2016 and in 2020 has been cited on over 100 occasions by scholars and experts. As a result of this paper and other pieces of research, he has among the world’s most-referenced political scientists specializing in Ukrainian matters.

In the final months of 2022, Katchanovski submitted a new investigation on the Maidan massacre to a prominent social sciences journal. Initially accepted with minor revisions after extensive peer review, the publication’s editor effusively praised the work in a lengthy private note. They said the paper was “exceptional in many ways,” and offered “solid” evidence in support of its conclusions. The reviewers concurred with this judgment.

However, the paper was not published, a decision Katchanovski firmly believes to have been “political.” He filed an appeal, but to no avail.

Among those fervently supporting Katchanovski’s appeal was renowned US academic Jeffrey Sachs. “You have written a very important, rigorous, and substantial article. It is thoroughly documented. It is on a topic of great significance,” Sachs wrote to the scholar. “Your paper should be published for reasons of its excellence…The journal will only benefit from publishing such a work of importance and excellence, which will further the scholarly understanding and debate regarding a very important moment of modern history.”

    Academic conspiracy of silence

By contrast, the scholar said, those willing to “blatantly and uncritically parrot Western narratives,” even when their fables run “contrary to evidence,” are rewarded, and encounter no resistance to publishing their work. Katchanovski is well-positioned to comment on academic censorship related to Ukraine: three other journals that accepted his papers after successful “expert” peer-review processes also ultimately refused to publish.

That violent far-right elements were centrally involved in the Odesa massacre is confirmed by copious video footage and hardly controversial. Why recognition of this indisputable fact was considered overly contentious by an academic journal remains unclear, but the rationale behind the suppression of Katchanovski’s Maidan massacre investigations is self-evident.

“This is done for political reasons. The mainstream media follows their governments, not the facts. Western journalists grossly misrepresented the Maidan massacre,” the scholar said. “With a few exceptions, journalists did not report videos of Maidan-supporting snipers and their confessions, and testimonies of the wounded Maidan protesters and several hundred witnesses concerning such snipers.”

Far-right elements discuss victim tally with US officials

The open source evidence collected by Katchanovski persuasively supports his conclusion that the Maidan massacre “was a successful false flag operation organized and conducted by elements of the Maidan leadership and concealed groups of snipers in order to overthrow the government and seize power in Ukraine.”

Among the trove are 14 videos depicting snipers nesting in Maidan protester-controlled buildings, 10 of which unambiguously show shooters tied to far-right groups ensconced in Hotel Ukraina, aiming at crowds of demonstrators below, and shooting at government-aligned law enforcement officials.

Meanwhile, synchronized videos demonstrate shots fired by the government security forces initially charged with the massacre do not coincide with the killing of protesters. Instead, the police officers fired warning shots at inanimate objects such as lampposts, trees, and the ground in order to settle violent crowds. They also fired into walls and windows where snipers in the Maidan-controlled Hotel Ukraina were located, targeting the snipers nested there.

... what if... the real goal is to weaken the US, Western Europe and Russia to oblivion just for China's CCP to scoop up the remaining choice morsels?

I think the dynamic worked otherwise, particularly in the early 1900s.

One thing I have noticed is that the Chinese are fond of revisionism. For instance I found that you are not supposed to say "Chinese Buddhism", it is "Han Buddhism" beginning at the Han capital, Loyang in Henan ca. year 100. It has a tendency to change things around. Later, the famous Bodhidharma, patron of Shaolin martial arts, is found to be almost entirely invented in the 1600s.

There is a similar authentic-versus-contrived debate centered on the "founder" of China, Huangdi or Xuanyuan, the Yellow Emperor:

Xuanyuan is also the name of the star Regulus in Chinese, the star being associated with Huangdi in traditional astronomy. He is also associated to the broader constellations Leo and Lynx, of which the latter is said to represent the body of the Yellow Dragon (黃龍 Huánglóng), Huangdi's animal form.

Huangdi's cult became prominent in the late Warring States and early Han dynasty, when he was portrayed as the originator of the centralized state, as a cosmic ruler, and as a patron of esoteric arts.

In the Hall of Supreme Harmony in Beijing's Forbidden City, there is also a mirror called the "Xuanyuan Mirror".

...in the early twentieth century Huangdi became a rallying figure for Han Chinese attempts to overthrow the rule of the Qing dynasty, which they considered foreign because its emperors were Manchu people. To this day the Yellow Emperor remains a powerful symbol within Chinese nationalism.

...the Yellow Emperor is now regarded as the initiator of Han culture (later Chinese culture).

The Yellow Emperor became a powerful national symbol in the last decade of the Qing dynasty (1644–1911) and remained dominant in Chinese nationalist discourse throughout the Republican period (1911–49). The early twentieth century is also when the Yellow Emperor was first referred to as the ancestor of all Chinese people.

Starting in 1903, radical publications started using the projected date of his birth as the first year of the Chinese calendar. Intellectuals such as Liu Shipei (1884–1919) found this practice necessary in order to "preserve the [Han] race" (baozhong 保種) from both dominance by Manchu people and foreign encroachment. Revolutionaries motivated by Anti-Manchuism such as Chen Tianhua (1875–1905), Zou Rong (1885–1905), and Zhang Binglin (1868–1936) tried to foster the racial consciousness they thought was missing from their compatriots, and thus depicted the Manchus as racially inferior barbarians who were unfit to rule over Han Chinese. Chen's widely circulated pamphlets claimed that the "Han race" formed one big family descended from the Yellow Emperor. The first issue (Nov. 1905) of the Minbao 民報 ("People's Journal"), which was founded in Tokyo by revolutionaries of the Tongmenghui, featured the Yellow Emperor on its cover and called Huangdi "the first great nationalist of the world."

    Tongmenghui is:

...a secret society and underground resistance movement founded by Sun Yat-sen, Song Jiaoren, and others in Tokyo, Japan, on 20 August 1905, with the goal of overthrowing China's Qing dynasty.

Nationalism is against foreign (such as Manchu) dominance...makes sense...and this secret society simply rose above the water and penned the Provisional Constitution of the RoC. The "Manchurians" were already engineered:

Nurhaci united clans to create a Manchu ethnic identity...

They expanded territory to the size of modern China, which came at a cost:

The height of Qing glory and power was reached in the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1735–1796). He led Ten Great Campaigns that extended Qing control into Inner Asia and personally supervised Confucian cultural projects. After his death, the dynasty faced changes in the world system, foreign intrusion, internal revolts, population growth, economic disruption, official corruption, and the reluctance of Confucian elites to change their mindsets. With peace and prosperity, the population rose to some 400 million, but taxes and government revenues were fixed at a low rate, soon leading to fiscal crisis. Following China's defeat in the Opium Wars, Western colonial powers forced the Qing government to sign "unequal treaties", granting them trading privileges, extraterritoriality and treaty ports under their control. The Taiping Rebellion (1850–1864) and the Dungan Revolt (1862–1877) in Central Asia led to the deaths of over 20 million people, from famine, disease, and war. The Tongzhi Restoration in the 1860s brought vigorous reforms and the introduction of foreign military technology in the Self-Strengthening Movement (Westernization). Defeat in the First Sino-Japanese War in 1895 led to loss of suzerainty over Korea and cession of Taiwan to Japan. The ambitious Hundred Days' Reform of 1898 proposed fundamental change, but the Empress Dowager Cixi (1835–1908), who had been the dominant voice in the national government for more than three decades, turned it back in a coup.

Mass media in the west during this era portrayed China as a rising military power due to its modernization programs and as a major threat to the western world, invoking fears that China would successfully conquer western colonies like Australia. Chinese armies were praised by John Russell Young, US envoy, who commented that "nothing seemed more perfect" in military capabilities, predicting a future confrontation between America and China."

    Although:

Early works by scholars such as Chen Lujiong (1730), Wang Dahai (1791), and Xie Qinggao (1820) already espoused the idea that Western countries were a threat due to their superior military technology: these scholars also called for the adoption of Western weapon technology.

    Russia at this time:

The Qing dynasty forced Russia to hand over disputed territory in the Treaty of Saint Petersburg (1881), in what was widely seen by the west as a diplomatic victory for the Qing. Russia acknowledged that Qing China potentially posed a serious military threat. The Russians observed the Chinese building up their arsenal of modern weapons during the Ili crisis, the Chinese bought thousands of rifles from Germany. In 1880 massive amounts of military equipment and rifles were shipped via boats to China from Antwerp as China purchased torpedoes, artillery, and 260 modern rifles from Europe.

So there is more or less a propagandized Cold War already in effect--with China learning these lessons:

The program proved expensive: Li Hongzhang had wanted the Jiangnan Arsenal to produce breech loading rifles of the Remington type. Production finally started in 1871 and produced only 4,200 rifles by 1873: these rifles were not only more costly than, but also far inferior to, the imported Remington arms. Shipbuilding efforts were also disappointing: the program consumed half of the arsenal's annual income but the ships built were at least twice as costly as comparable vessels available for purchase in Britain. The lack of material and human resources proved to be a formidable problem. The program was heavily reliant on foreign expertise and materials. The unavoidable growth in the number of foreign employees had made increased costs inevitable. Furthermore, officials were not even aware when the foreigners were not competent enough to perform the tasks that they had been hired to do...

    Sounding a little backwards now?

    After the 1900 Boxer Rebellion:

Sun Yat-sen and revolutionaries debated reform officials and constitutional monarchists such as Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao over how to transform the Manchu-ruled empire into a modern Han nation.

    After collapse of the Qing:

In August 1912, the Tongmenghui formed the nucleus of the Kuomintang, the governing political party of the republic.

In 1912, for instance, banknotes carrying Huangdi's effigy were issued by the new Republican government. After 1911, however, the Yellow Emperor as national symbol changed from first progenitor of the Han race to ancestor of China's entire multi-ethnic population. Under the ideology of the Five Races Under One Union, Huangdi became the common ancestor of the Han Chinese, the Manchu people, the Mongols, the Tibetans, and the Hui people, who were said to form the Zhonghua minzu, a broadly understood Chinese nation. Sixteen state ceremonies were held between 1911 and 1949 to Huangdi as the "founding ancestor of the Chinese nation" (中華民族始祖) and even "the founding ancestor of human civilization" (人文始祖).

Their historicity [whether Huangdi was a historical person] started to be questioned in the 1920s by historians such as Gu Jiegang, one of the founders of the Doubting Antiquity School in China.

Then, the Nationalists and Communists were basically on the same side, against the Northern or Manchurian warlords. Sun Yat Sen was western educated, and had western moral and intellectual support, and no material support. That is where the Bolsheviks come in, supplying weapons and the like:

In 1924 the KMT would enter into an alliance with the fledgling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as a requirement for Soviet support. General Chiang Kai-shek, who became the Chairman of the Kuomintang after Sun's death and subsequent power struggle in 1925, began the Northern Expedition in 1926 to overthrow the Beiyang government. In 1927, Chiang moved the nationalist government to Nanking and purged the CCP, beginning with the Shanghai massacre. The latter event forced the CCP and KMT's left-wing into armed rebellion, marking the beginning of the Chinese Civil War...

These articles only talk about attacks and reprisals. Nothing much about policies and how or why there would be such a split.

The KMT and CCP were trying to convert or take over each other from within, but there is a short story of camaraderie followed by a Nationalist attack on the Communists in the tale of the United Front.

Over time, CCP became more popular most importantly in the issue of Land Reform:

Sun Yat-sen advocated a "land to the tiller" program of equal distribution of land which was partly implemented by the Nationalist government under Chiang Kai-shek.

Landlords — whose status was theoretically defined through the percentage of income derived from exploitation as opposed to labor...

By 1934, 4% of the population owned half of the land, while 70% of peasant households owned only 17% of the land.

Chinese peasantry was not in feudal bondage, as for example the Russians to the Tsars and so forth. They either owned or rented the land they worked. The CCP did drastically alter this equation, and then in the 1950s you see ownership being assimilated by State.

KMT's six years of Japanese appeasement were unpopular, resulting in the Second United Front, and the Chinese Civil War was effectively on pause until the Japanese were defeated. After that, CCP comes out stronger and KMT retreats to Taiwan. So it appears less the conflict with Communism, and more the weak response to the Japanese occupation which cost them their influence.

The old Provisional Constitution had been somewhat French in character, and, due to strife, it roughly made a state of emergency and placed martial law in the hands of KMT, and by defeating the KMT, the Communists simply inherited this state of affairs. Even so, the KMT is still a party to the current Constitution:

The Constitution of the Republic of China is the fifth and current constitution of the Republic of China (ROC), ratified by the Kuomintang during the Constituent National Assembly [zh] session on 25 December 1946, in Nanjing, and adopted on 25 December 1947.

    Then:

The cult of the Yellow Emperor was forbidden in the People's Republic of China until the end of the Cultural Revolution. The prohibition was halted during the 1980s when the government reversed itself and resurrected the "Yellow Emperor cult".

After retreating to Taiwan in late 1949 at the end of the Chinese Civil War, Chiang Kai-shek and the Kuomintang (KMT) ruled that the Republic of China (ROC) would keep paying homage to the Yellow Emperor.

In 1955, the KMT, which was led by Mandarin speakers and still poised on retaking the mainland from the Communists, sponsored the production of the movie Children of the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi zisun 黃帝子孫), which was filmed mostly in Taiwanese Hokkien and showed extensive passages of Taiwanese folk opera. Directed by Bai Ke (1914–1964), a former assistant of Yuan Muzhi, it was a propaganda effort to convince speakers of Taiyu that they were linked to mainland people by common blood.

Mao attempted to purge the party of capitalist and reactionary elements during the Cultural Revolution, after his death, these policies were only briefly continued by the Gang of Four before a less radical faction seized control. During the 1980s, Deng Xiaoping directed the CCP away from Maoist orthodoxy and towards a policy of economic liberalization.

...to know if a certain policy is obsolete or not, the party had to "seek truth from facts" and follow the slogan "practice is the sole criterion for the truth". At the 14th National Congress, Jiang reiterated Deng's mantra that it was unnecessary to ask if something was socialist or capitalist, since the important factor was whether it worked.

I am not sure they have a goal to balkanize the globe. This seems less likely when considering the "Rules for Revolution", Snopes follows its trail to nowhere:

..."registration of all firearms" sounds out of place for 1919 (as this Ngram chart shows, "sexy" is a word one was far more likely to have encountered in America during the post-World War II era than in 1919), and not surprisingly, nobody has ever managed to turn up the mysterious issue of Examiner-Enterprise that supposedly printed this list.

When columnist Bob Greene checked out the "Communist Rules for Revolution" with Russian specialists at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University in the mid-1980s, they said the list was "a total fraud," "an obvious fabrication," and "an implausible concoction of American fears and phobias." Greene also observed: "I always wanted to meet a communist who was carrying the list around, so I could ask him what 'obloquy' means."

The tone of its writing is anachronistic. Nevertheless, it has been re-printed in various newspapers and even the Congressional Record, as if it had just been seen for the first time. There are a few other skeptical points on Stack Exchange:

The earliest known publication of these "Communist Rules for Revolution" dates from February 1946, and it's significant to note that publication coincided with events such as Winston Churchill's famous "Iron Curtain" speech, in which he issued a warning to citizens of the United States that "Communist parties constitute a growing challenge and peril to Christian civilization."

    One "yay-sayer" is:

... the American Legion published (see page 6) the rules and stated they were the "official communist party 'Rules for Revolution'".

    However by 1966:

The most plausible explanation, on the basis of what Mr. Twitchell has reported, is that "Communist Rules for Revolution" is a product of the Nazi propaganda machine, and was picked up by the British and American Ultra-Rightists as a weapon of the Cold War.

So I would tend to file the document in the well-known predictable strand of Fascist co-intel:

Taxil Hoax (Pike and Mazzini), Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and Occult Theocrasy, as followed by Nesta Webster and the John Birch Society (John Birch having been a missionary killed in China).

The possibility of China gaining a larger stake in international affairs seems in keeping with the fact of it being large, while the U. S. squandering most of its potential on losing Cold War weapons races and even tiny Britain pledging an additional $6B for the purposes of "catch up", goes like a few excerpts from Cannot Win:

A recent WSJ article “The U.S. Is Not Ready for the Era of ‘Great Power’ Conflict” by Michael R. Gordon...

In this case, the takeaway is that the US is not ready for war with China and/or Russia — and never will be. Also that the US military is not set up for war with anyone really— just to make a lot of money for a few big corporations.

Proof? At the time of writing, Biden has just done proposing the biggest military budget in history—to counter China— which really poses no threat to the US.

The biggest threat to the US is the US itself.

    Says, Lt. General Chef Clint:

As we began to push for change, we lost most of the budget battles….There is more sense of urgency now, but we know how far we have to go.”

I don’t recall the Pentagon “losing” many budget battles. Do you?

    Mikey Gordon editorializes:

A China in control of the South China Sea and Taiwan would hold sway over waters through which trillions of dollars in trade passes each year. It would also command supplies of advanced semiconductors, threaten the security of U.S. allies such as Japan and challenge American per-eminence in a part of the world it has dominated since World War II.

Oh my—this is Rome vs Carthage redux. Will there be massacres, rape, and plunder? But I digress—the US has been doing massacre, rape and plunder for years. It’s called “Freedom”.

So far, China has shown no interest in invading Taiwan.

Why would they want to? (And how can you “invade” your own country?)

The U.S. needed to demonstrate it could prevent Beijing from seizing the island in the first place—a requirement included in the Biden administration’s National Defense Strategy issued in 2022.

Translation: the US needs a “defense” buildup of a size that would make the improbable threat …um… improbable.

For example, the Americans say that Beijing “claims” Taiwan as Chinese territory despite this “claim” is one that a majority of the world recognizes as fact — including the US ..

The WSJ article warns that China is building bases in the South China Sea.

These are, as you know, orientally inscrutable —with lots of radar towers and communications facilities. Domes and stuff. Definitely dangerous. Lighthouses too. OK. No fighter aircraft, missile batteries, or bombers that we can see. Which means they are hidden somewhere.

So far I would stick with "the west is imploding under its own power". Although the CCP will probably still be around to deal with the remnants, I would guess their attention was almost entirely local for quite some time, and that they were not in the position to make or execute a hundred year plan.

    Thanks for your thanks!

I was a bit uneasy about publishing; but the fact that this 'trifecta/ tripod' was useful for you, justifies it for me.

Simplicius the thinker published 2 excellent pieces over the past days.

    https://substack.com/profile/1257441...us-the-thinker

On Saturday: Saturday Reader's Mailbag Extravaganza - (3/11/23) - Answers
Simplicius answering 12 questions about the Ukro war (https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/...g-extravaganza)

some of the questions answered are:
    - Assuming the actions continue for another year or two. How do you see the 24 US elections affecting the war ?
    - Is the United States trying to shut down the Eurasian unification process??
    - Where are the Chechens?
    - I would like to hear your opinion on what might be a reasonable position for both sides to accept to end this war.
    - I would like a quick brief on how life goes on in areas and settlements in new Russian territories that are relatively far from the front, such as Lugansk of Berdiansk, for example
    - Does Putin realize that the Western/ Atlantean interests are perpetuating a fraud by stealing the "aid" with both hands? Will there be a cease fire like the North and South Korean border where a buffer zone is established and both cultures can lick their wounds and move on? I'm a proud American and I don't like feeling like I'm on the bad guy team. What is the best I can hope for in this insane situation?
    - I'd like to have a better understanding of Prigozhin/Wagner's relationship with the Russian military establishment.

The second piece, published today: The Iraq War Was A Sham (https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/...war-was-a-sham)
Compares the supposed success of the Iraq War versus the supposed Russian lack of success (according MSM).
This piece is in my opinion very interesting. I learned a lot. I had no idea at all that the Iraq war was far from what we were told

Zelensky backs expulsion of Christian monks

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has endorsed the order to expel monks of the canonical Orthodox church from the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, insinuating they were agents of Russia. Moscow has called on all Christian churches, as well as the UN and other international organizations, to respond to the “outrageous” decision.

“This week there is also a move to strengthen our spiritual independence,” Zelensky said in a weekly address to the nation on Sunday evening. “We will not allow the terrorist state any opportunity to manipulate the spirituality of our people, to destroy our holy sites – our Lavras – or to steal valuables from them.”

He also claimed the steps his government was undertaking were “completely legal” and had the full support of the Ukrainian public.

On Friday, the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture notified the monks they had until March 29 to vacate the monastery, claiming they had violated the 2013 agreement under which the state allowed them to administer the national historic preserve. Founded in 1051, the Pechersk Lavra (‘Monastery of the Caves’) is considered the most prominent Orthodox Christian site in Ukraine.

Church appeals to global religious leaders over Zelensky plan
Kiev has already expelled the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) from two of the cathedrals above the monastery. Within days of that decision, in early January, the government-created Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) was allowed to hold services on the premises.

The UOC monks will “not carry out the order” to leave, the abbot of the monastery said on Monday. The head of the church, Metropolitan Kliment, had called Friday’s note the personal opinion of a Ministry of Culture official, with no legal standing. The UOC remains in communion with the Russian Orthodox Church, but has declared itself independent and condemned the Russian “invasion” to remain in the Ukrainian government’s good graces.

Kiev’s move to expel the monks is “unacceptable” and “absolutely unprecedented,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday. “We believe that the world community should respond accordingly to such an outrageous decision.”

On Saturday, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church compared the eviction to the expulsion of Orthodox clergy under Communism. Such a move would “lead to a violation of the rights of millions of Ukrainian Orthodox faithful,” said Patriarch Kirill, in a letter sent to the UN, the heads of other Orthodox churches, Pope Francis of Rome, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Coptic Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria, and others.
