The last big skirmish/massacre in Gaza a few years back was a deliberate horror show to smoke out critical voices from the media and fire them. For now, I'm running on an assumption that this is part of a synchronised op to drive up emotions and trigger careless words and behaviour thousands of miles away.

Don't get triggered. They have tightened up the law on 'hate speech' in Europe and UK, so maybe they want to take it for a spin.

A year of trials for hate speech and taboo political opinions would be perfect for a certain faction in this global fight in the run up to A US AND a UK election next year.

I agree with you about not getting immediately triggered over this; Everything these last several years is NOT what it seems....

The first red flag I've noticed is all the media etc., are calling this a "surprise attack". Really????????????? Are we really to believe that all most sophisticated intelligence agencies, spy agencies, and most highly trained embedded assets on the planet missed every sign possible that there might be some sort of attack?????? I call BS. This was obviously allowed to happen in my opinion.

Hamas has reportedly captured Brigadier General Nimrod Aloni. Aloni stepped aside as the commanding officer of the Gaza Division in August 2022. He currently is the commander of the “Depth Corps”, a strategic force whose mission is to use Israeli special forces to operate in the depth of an enemy. It seems Hamas has turned the table on Israel, and is now operating in Israel’s strategic depth. This operation is extraordinarily well planned and executed. Any notion that Israel will be able to contain this attack soon is misplaced. Israel did not anticipate anything of this scope and scale. The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has rebuffed Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that only “dozens” of Israelis have been taken captive in the ongoing operation against the regime.

In a recorded message aired shortly after midnight on Sunday, Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for the Gaza Strip-based movement’s military wing, al-Qassam Brigades, presented a differing account.

“Today, you spoke of dozens of prisoners, but we assure you, Netanyahu, that the number of your captives far exceeds this count. You must keep better track of your soldiers,” Ubaida firmly stated. This operation marks the most significant effort by Palestinian resistance groups against the occupying regime in years. As of now, the operation has resulted in the loss of approximately 300 Israeli lives, with thousands more sustaining injuries, including hundreds in critical condition.

Leaders of the resistance view this operation as a definitive response to the continuous campaign of violence and devastation perpetuated by the Israeli regime against the Palestinian people.

In response to Netanyahu’s recent statements in which he threatened to employ all means to destroy the military capabilities of both Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movement, Abu Ubaida addressed the Israeli leader’s remarks, highlighting the deep crisis within the Israeli establishment. The main reason behind this is most likely Bin Salman's attempt at normalization with Israel.



Hezbollah announced on Sunday it had targeted three Israeli posts in occupied Shebaa Farms, in a clear message of solidarity with Palestinian people and resistance.

It named the three sites: Radar, Zibdin and Ruweissat Al-Alam. The resistance fighters used a significant number of artillery shells and guided missiles, resulting in direct hits on these sites, the statement added.

Is it possible that this latest Hamas attack on Isreal was in part triggered by the recent missile attack on a graduation ceremony at a Syrian military college, killing & injuring hundreds of people, including women and children. While the attacker has not yet been identified, it is a fact that over the past several years Isreal has conducted multiple unprovoked attacks on Syria, killing many Syrians. Isreal claims to be eliminating Iranian militants from Syrian soil (as if they have the right to do that...). Did Isreal ever think that such unprovoked attacks would result in closer collaboration between middle east countries against Isreal. It could be tangentially related, perhaps to bring Syria into the upcoming war that may take place on multiple fronts, but Hamas' operation took months of planning to be carried out with such precision and success. That of course also leads one to wonder, fora n operation that was planned for months involving hundred of operatives how was nothing picked up on? Israeli arrogance at the capabilities of Hamas may be part of the reason, but there are plenty of intelligence people who have been warning about the growing strength for Hamas for months.

Watching the news, it is funny (as much humor as one can find at this time) how ever hour or two they come back and mention about "conspiracies" that this was an inside job and how everyone should ignore that, as the army did a thorough investigation and ruled that out... a thorough investigation in less than 24 hours when we are meant to believe they were caught with their pants down.

Slightly going off topic, but I would appreciate advice from everyone here on the following. I just had a run-in with a fundamentalist christian who believes literally that the bible holds all of the unquestionable truth about history and the future. According to this person Isreal has only taken back its own god-given lands in the state of Isreal, and Palestinians are just usurpers who thoroughly deserve to be kicked out. The worse is this belief of the biblical end times prophecy, where the fundamentalists urgently hope for, and even intervene for, that the end times second return of christ is dependent on Isreal regaining control of the state, and/or the third rebuilding of the temple, and the complete destruction of Damascus. So, these dear christians hope and pray for all this destruction and killings because then they, as the elects, will be saved by the 'rapture'. (As per the book of "Revelations", I think.)

I recall back in 2018 or 2019 watching a video of then secretary of state Mike Pompeo addressing an audience of christians assuring them that they were working on making those prophecies happen, in particular the destruction of Damascus, with the USA military might at their disposal. All of which undoubtedly harming millions of innocent people in these middle eastern countries.

All of this sends icy shivers down my spine, is anybody else feeling the evil emanating from such positions? So far, I've mostly been avoiding these 'christians', except for today where I soon found out that a fact-based rational discussion doesn't seem possible. What to say to christians who hold such disregard for palestinians? The complication is that this is someone with whom I had been working with on ending the covid mandates.

Thanks Bill - the last post refers the Tantura massacre in 1948 and a recent documentary that came out in 2022 (well worth watching - https://www.tantura-film.com/). The story behind the documentary itself is also very interesting - in a nutshell an Israeli scholar who wrote his thesis on this and was effectively silenced and discredited for exposing a narrative that went against the binary Israel == good, Arab == bad. The director of this documentary came across this case and after looking into it felt compelled to expose it. Emotions are certainly high for everyone involved... as outraged and saddened as I am to see kidnapped Israeli children being bullied and pushed around, videos of a family seeing their daughter executed by Hamas, and the aftermath of a family in Gaza wiped out by yet mroe bombing, what really boils my blood is how accepting everyone is at the ridiculous narrative that this was just happenstance and chance and not an orchestrated event. It defies any logic or common sense but sadly it's easier to bury your head in the sand than confront the truth and all of its implications.

Guess what I saw in the tunnels: Palestinian civilians who otherwise couldn't exit the open air prison that is the Gaza Strip, leaving to Egypt for the medical care they cannot get in Gaza because of Israel’s inhumane, brutal, 15+ year siege on Gaza (prohibiting entry of vital medicines and medical equipment), Israeli wars on Gaza (targeting hospitals), and the long power outages (sometimes 20 hours off when I lived there, otherwise at least 8 or 10 orn12 hours off, daily) due to Israel’s bombing of Gaza's sole power plant back in 2006

All of this has devastated Gaza's medical system. Hence, since Israel usually doesn't allow Palestinians with medical referrals to exit Gaza, and Egypt (when I was there) made it almost impossible for Palestinians to exit, the tunnels were the only option.
