    Text:
    The Americans and their allies consistently blocked two of ours, and vetoed the Brazilian draft resolutions demanding a ceasefire," said the spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

    At the same time, the provocative American military maneuvers in the Eastern Mediterranean also have a destructive effect on the situation in the Middle East, Zakharova emphasizes.

    "The number of victims is increasing at a catastrophic rate. The conflict is escalating and the scale of the humanitarian disaster is increasing. Due to the continuous attacks on residential areas and civilian infrastructure in Gaza, about 1,500,000 people have been forced to leave their homes. There is a risk that the conflict will turn regional level," emphasizes Zakharova.

    What is the response to atrocities against Israel?
    Yup, clamp down on Islamophobia.

    Israeli police storm hospital in East Jerusalem, detaining Gaza visitors
    Israeli police stormed a hospital in East Jerusalem and arrested a number of patients from Gaza on Thursday, according to a police statement and Palestinian media.

    The Ma'an news agency said a large number of officers raided al-Makassed Hospital after besieging it and putting officers on the roof.

    Israeli police said they arrested 11 Gazans and one Palestinian from the West Bank who were "hiding" in the hospital.

    The detainees were transferred to the Jerusalem District Police for questioning.

    A source told MEE those arrested were Palestinians from Gaza who came to Jerusalem on Israeli-issued permits to accompany patients from the besieged enclave.

    Siraj Abu Arafa, a lawyer at the Jerusalem-based Wadi Hilweh Information Center, said 12 people were arrested, including "women, young men and a boy".

    One of the patients told MEE that her father, a visitor, was detained after Israeli soldiers entered the hospital. He was staying at a caravan for visitors.

    "They were looking for Gazans. They were detaining anyone from Gaza. I was scared," she said.

    "How could they storm a hospital, and detain visitors? I can't believe it.

    "As a patient, I am now alone, without my father or a family member."

    Samira Oweina, a member of the hospital staff, told MEE that she saw soldiers detaining about 10 elderly women and children from the emergency department while on visits.

    Haaretz reported that one of the detainees was the sister of a member of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

    Police also summoned the deputy director of the hospital for questioning.

    Israel deployed its forces into Gaza late last week following weeks of air, land and sea strikes on the besieged territory in retaliation for a Hamas attack on 7 October, in which around 1,400 Israelis were killed and at least 220 were taken captive.

    A least 9,000 Palestinians have since been killed and over 22,200 wounded in Gaza, while hundreds of people are still missing, the vast majority believed to be dead and buried under the rubble.

    Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel's war on Hamas would continue "until victory" despite "painful losses".

    Many of those who travelled from Gaza to Israel prior to the outbreak of the conflict on 7 October have found themselves stranded, many without a permit.

    A number of patients at al-Makassed hospital are among those unable to return home.

    Israa Al-Sheni, from the city of Khan Younis, told Anadolu Agency on Tuesday that she had been trapped following the outbreak of war.

    “I have been receiving treatment at al-Makassed Hospital for a month and a week, and during the treatment I underwent an operation," she said.

    "During that time, the war broke out, and we were not able to return."

    There have been a number of recent mentions of The Samson Option in both mainstream media and alternative reports and commentaries.

    I looked it up on Wikipedia to understand it better. Here's a short extract. I've added my own emphasis in red.

    It's sobering to consider that there may still be Israeli politicians or military commanders who continue to believe this.

    ~~~
    In 2003, a military historian, Martin van Creveld, thought that the Al-Aqsa Intifada then in progress threatened Israel's existence. Van Creveld was quoted in David Hirst's The Gun and the Olive Branch (2003) as saying:
    "We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force. Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: 'Israel must be like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother.' I consider it all hopeless at this point. We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible. Our armed forces, however, are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under."
    Thanks Bill. I mentioned the Samson Option in an earlier reply on some post . I have to imagine that all the big powers would have this as a last card.
    Would Putin actually allow Ukraine and Nato to destroy Russia, and eridacte him? NO WAY. I beleive all these countries play the war game for their own reasons and behind the scenes arrange the results like Pro Wrestling.
    Same with UFO Disclosure. they all need to be on board for anything to change
    on another note, the gaza war can be watched live. what a weird world we live
    Readers may be well aware of the significance of this, but a reference may help to underscore the importance. The leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, is due to give a speech on Friday morning US time. If he calls for war, then all hell will break loose.
    Hezbollah chief Nasrallah to give first public speech since start of the war Friday
    Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is set to deliver a speech on Friday, his first public address since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.
    The speech is scheduled for 3 p.m. Israel time, during a ceremony to honor the “martyrs who died on the road to Jerusalem,” according to pro-Hezbollah news outlet Al Mayadeen.
    ~~~

    Here's more in this — which (unless his speech is a lot more mild and rhetorical than it could be) may prove to be critically important. This article I'll copy in full:
    Hezbollah Ultimatum: Ceasefire on November 3 or Full Mobilization for War

    Leader of the Lebanese Resistance movement Hezbollah, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah.

    Hezbollah leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, has reportedly given an ultimatum to the United States through mediators, demanding an end to the Israeli war on Gaza by November 3.

    Leader of the Lebanese Resistance movement Hezbollah, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, has given an ultimatum to the United States through mediators, demanding an end to the Israeli war on Gaza by November 3, Kuwait-based Al-Jarida newspaper reported, citing Iranian diplomatic sources.

    According to the sources, if the US fails to meet this demand, in his Friday televised address, Sheikh Nasrullah will announce “a general mobilization (…) for war with Israel and will launch military operations against Israel from all directions.”

    Al-Jarida noted that Nasrallah agreed the ultimatum with Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, who arrived in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Tuesday.

    According to Al-Jarida’s sources, General Qaani stated earlier at a meeting of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council that Tehran’s regional allies might lose popular support if they failed “to join the fight to support the Palestinian people.”

    Israel has, thus far, killed over 9,061 Palestinians in Gaza, including nearly 4,000 children, and wounded more than 32,000. Palestinian Ministry of Health reports and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

    Despite a massive Israeli military buildup around the Gaza borders and sporadic infiltrations on the outskirts of the besieged Strip, Palestinian Resistance continues to repel Israeli attacks.

    To justify its military failure, the Israeli army continues to pound civilian homes throughout the Gaza Strip with new massacres reported everywhere in the besieged enclave.

    Gaza has been under a tight Israeli military siege since 2007, following a democratic election in occupied Palestine, the results of which were rejected by Tel Aviv and Washington.

    This is an extraordinary 50-second video, posted on https://t.me/Slavyangrad/71942. I've deliberately NOT posted videos of the killing, wounding, or suffering of any civilians on either side. They're altogether too harrowing to see.

    But this is a purely military encounter, like something from a Hollywood movie. It appears to be real.

    It shows a Hamas militant emerging from a tunnel in close proximity to the Israeli military, personally placing an explosive device directly on a Merkava Mk.IV tank, and then finishing it off with a tandem RPG grenade. The tank is destroyed, and he then retreats into the tunnel again. It all takes less than a minute.

    Here's a direct link to the video for those who can't see this on Telegram:

    I got an idea.

    Predicated on the vilification of the Israelites and the fact that no one seems to care about the wholesale slaughter of Israeli civilians.
    Gather up the women and children and the infirm and old and march them into Gaza ahead of the tanks. Then when they are picked off, cry about the inhumanity of the Hamas combatants.
    That's the whole point, Ernie. I wonder how many of those Israeli citizens who were slaughtered, or who we might march out as pawns to gain the moral high ground, are Zionists? My guess is not too many. I wonder how many of the four hundred Palestinian refuges--men, women, and children, who were just trying to huddle and survive--and who were just executed under the pretext of taking out one Hamas leader, were affiliated with or even supported Hamas?

    For the record, I'm vilifying both the Zionists and Hamas -- not the Israelites or the Palestinians. My apologies if that wasn't clear. Further, I'm suggesting the Zionists and Hamas may be two sides of the same coin--even if they're useful or unwitting cogs of that particular mint. How f&*ked up is that?

    No life is more valuable than another, regardless what circumstances the fog of war shuffle them under. I condemn the wholesale slaughter on both sides.

    We need to direct our rage at those pulling the strings. Not at those who fall under a particular flag because of circumstance.

    And of course this is just my opinion. I admit I know nothing, except of the deep empathetic bond I share with the entire of my species... Who all hurting right now. In ways far too painful to tap into.

    This aptly shows one of the serious vulnerabilities of tanks.

    Ernie, would appreciate your thoughts on the following:

    Likud Minister Formulates Emergency Regulations to Imprison Citizens Who 'Harm National Morale'
    "Communications Minister Karhi is promoting regulations that would allow him to direct police to arrest civilians, remove them from their homes, or seize their property if he believes they have spread information that could harm national morale or served as the basis for enemy propaganda"
    (The rest of the article is behind a paywall.)

    What does 'harming national morale' mean exactly in Isreal today?

    Hamas military spox stressed that the resistance fighters carried out a counter attack on the Israeli enemy forces late Thursday, destroying 6 tanks, two personnel-carriers, and a bulldozer.

    Abu Obeida also addressed the Israelis, stressing that their government is lying to them regarding the numbers of dead soldiers and vowing to kill much more soldiers.

    There are perhaps two things to understand about the Hamas. It is no longer an Islamist, and, it participates in electoral politics in a difficult relation with Fatah & PLO in terms of there being other displaced Palestinians than just Gaza. The "official government" has the weakness of being "a political salon" that does next to nothing. This perhaps summarizes the recent Palestinian view of it:

    Quote One may argue that Hamas was successful in expanding its forms and aims of resistance to the extent that it garnered the support of millions of Palestinians of all walks of life and political backgrounds. Indeed, it has become the pillar of contemporary Palestinian struggle and a framework that transcends intellectual and ideological differences. And while many Palestinians disagree on Hamas’ governance and ideology, there is consensus around its centrality to the resistance.

    That is interesting that HZB gave its ultimatum to the U. S. rather than Israel, but, word gets around.

    One could test the statement and find out if it is conjecture.

    This is a rough attempt to translate:

    Quote "The topic of Netanyahu’s short political shelf life has come up in recent White House meetings involving [US President Joe] Biden," American news website POLITICO reported on Wednesday, citing two senior US administration officials.

    "Biden has gone so far as to suggest to Netanyahu that he should think about lessons he would share with his eventual successor," the officials added.

    The website cited a current US official and a former one as confirming that "the administration believes Netanyahu has limited time left in office"

    The US administration's dimming view of Netanyahu is partly driven by the belief that he has been "significantly weakened" by Israelis’ anger over the regime's failure in the face of the October 7 operation by the Gaza Strip's resistance movements that dealt a heavy blow to the Tel Aviv regime.

    "There’s going to have to be a reckoning within Israeli society about what happened," said the current official, adding, "Ultimately, the buck stops on the prime minister’s desk."

    "The current official said the expectation internally was that the Israeli pm would likely last a matter of months, or at least until the early fighting phase of Israel’s military campaign in the Gaza Strip was over," the report said.

    Biden’s trip to Tel Aviv last month was one largely of support, but privately he also urged Netanyahu to proceed cautiously and not widen the war, according to the two senior administration officials.

    With an eye toward the future, US officials are talking to Benny Gantz, a member of the current unity government; Naftali Bennett, a former prime minister; and Yair Lapid, an opposition leader and former prime minister, among other Israeli figures, the report said.

    “Even the best case scenario for Israel in this war would not likely keep Netanyahu in power because the horror of the October 7 operation will remain fresh, and because so many Israelis already directly attribute the lack of security to Netanyahu’s policies,” said Hagar Chemali, a former National Security Council and Treasury Department official in the Barack Obama administration.

    The occupying regime has faced international backlash over a hugely deadly war that it has been waging against Gaza in response to the Hamas' operation.

    Visiting the occupied territories last month, Biden "advised Netanyahu to consider the scenario he was leaving for his successor — an implicit suggestion that Netanyahu might not be in power for the duration of what will likely be a lengthy conflict", the report added.

    Again, it might be a little ambitious in terms of there being anything left to govern, but, it may be telling as to the Israeli status as an American toy.

    Time will tell, and not very much of it.

    Israel’s Suicide Solution

    What if the world were to end in a thermonuclear firestorm ignited by the only nuclear power on Earth that’s too dishonest to admit it has nuclear weapons?

    And what if that country was disproportionately populated with people who have such an overwrought persecution complex that they wrangle even the slightest sign of disrespect into a mortal threat to their very existence?

    Israel’s first Prime Minister, an odd-looking duck named David Ben-Gurion, was said to be “nearly obsessed” with the idea that Israel needed nuclear bombs to prevent another Holocaust from happening. In 1956 he wrote, “What Einstein, Oppenheimer and Teller, the three of them are Jews, made for the United States could also be done by scientists in Israel for their own people.” In an April 1963 letter to John F. Kennedy, Ben-Gurion insisted that ongoing regional hostilities in the Middle East meant that Israel potentially faced “another Holocaust.”

    According to Seymour Hersh, author of 1991’s The Samson Option: Israel’s Nuclear Arsenal and American Foreign Policy, legend has it that the words “Never Again” were welded in both English and Hebrew onto the first nuclear warhead that Israel produced.

    In case you aren’t up to snuff on your biblical lore, Samson was the Israelite judge who, even though the Philistines had captured him, gouged out his eyes, and bound him with chains to the pillars of their temple, decided that if he had to die in such an ignominious fashion, he was also going to topple the temple’s pillars and kill all the Philistines along with him.

    The term “Samson Option” refers to Israel’s unofficial policy — it can’t be official, since Israel has never officially admitted it has nuclear weapons, although several of its high-ranking officials have slipped up and blurted it out at various junctures — that if God’s Chosen Nation were to find itself on the brink of military annihilation, it would, in the words of Ron Rosenbaum in his 2o11 book How the End Begins: The Road to a Nuclear World War III, “bring down the pillars of the world (attack Moscow and European capitals for instance) . . . [and] the holy places of Islam.”

    In other words, “If we can’t have the world, neither can any of you!”

    In a 2002 editorial for the Los Angeles Times, David Perlmutter wrote:

    Israel has been building nuclear weapons for 30 years. The Jews understand what passive and powerless acceptance of doom has meant for them in the past, and they have ensured against it. Masada was not an example to follow — it hurt the Romans not a whit, but Samson in Gaza? What would serve the Jew-hating world better in repayment for thousands of years of massacres but a Nuclear Winter? Or invite all those tut-tutting European statesmen and peace activists to join us in the ovens?

    For the first time in history, a people facing extermination while the world either cackles or looks away — unlike the Armenians, Tibetans, World War II European Jews or Rwandans — have the power to destroy the world. The ultimate justice?

    A year later, Israeli military historian Martin van Creveld was quoted in the book The Sword and the Olive as saying:

    We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force. Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: “Israel must be like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother.” I consider it all hopeless at this point. We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible. Our armed forces, however, are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under.

    I hope you won’t call me an anti-Semite for saying this all sounds paranoid, psychotic, and dangerous. It also sounds like more of a “Final Solution” than anything the Nazis were ever accused of plotting.

    And pardon me in advance for thinking that blowing up the planet out of spite sounds sooooo immature.

    Even though in the grand scheme of things, ending all life as we know it is probably a smidgen worse than being hypocritical, it’s difficult not to raise the demon specter of hypocrisy when the United States has been dragged into war after war after war on the pretense that, for reasons that are never clearly elucidated, its solemn and sacred duty is to defend Israel against other Middle Eastern nations who are suspected of plotting to perchance, at some time in the future, produce a little nuclear bomb of their own.

    It is generally agreed that Israel possesses anywhere from 75 to 400 nuclear warheads, and yet it’s the only nation on Earth that the rest of the nations on Earth are too timid to pin to the mat and force to admit that they have nukes.

    Since the United States officially bans funding countries that have weapons of mass destruction, Israel would lose two to three billion dollars a year in US aid if it merely ’fessed up and said, “Yes, we have nukes, too.”

    The consensus is that Israel has had nuclear weapons since at least the mid-1960s and planned to detonate a nuclear device in the Sinai Desert during 1967’s Six-Day War merely to scare the poo-stuffin’s out of its Muslim enemies, but it won the conflict so rapidly and handily that there was no need for such a vulgar display of raw power.

    In a May 1973 interview for the BBC with reporter Alan Hart, the unspeakably homely Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir intimated that Israel was sitting on some kind of Doomsday Machine. According to Hart:

    At a point during an interview I did with her for the BBC’s Panorama programme, I interrupted her to say: “Prime Minister, I want to be sure I understand what you’re saying. . . . You are saying that if ever Israel was in danger of being defeated on the battlefield, it would be prepared to take the region and the whole world down with it?” . . . Golda replied, without the shortest of pauses for reflection, and in the gravel voice that could charm or intimidate American Presidents according to need, “Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying.”

    A few months later during the Yom Kippur War, Meir allegedly threatened to attach 13 atomic bombs to Israeli missiles and planes if the US failed to immediately airlift military supplies to Israel. President Richard Nixon swiftly and dutifully complied, acting like the “pitiful, helpless giant” he’d predicted “the world’s most powerful nation” might one day become if it bowed to “the forces of totalitarianism.”

    In context, though, Nixon had been referring to totalitarian Communists rather than Zionists who vowed to take the whole world down with them. I’m not sure if the Communists ever threatened to get that totalitarian.

    During Nixon’s first term in office, his National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger — an apparently indestructible Jew who still lives among us at the age of 100 — suggested that the US adopt a policy of “nuclear ambiguity” regarding Israel’s weapons of mass destruction. In other words, just close your eyes and pretend you know nothing about how this minuscule nation that emerged in the wake of the Second World War and is surrounded by hostile Muslims whose holy book disdains All Things Jewy possesses nuclear weapons and sees absolutely nothing wrong with using them to destroy the entire world in the event that it should one day find itself suddenly going verklempt.

    Sounds like a foolproof plan for global peace and stability! It doesn’t sound at all like s0me demented script Sylvester Stallone wrote as a sequel to the Second World War.

    In a memo dated July 19, 1969, Kissinger warned:

    The Israelis, who are one of the few peoples whose survival is genuinely threatened, are probably more likely than almost any other country to actually use their nuclear weapons.

    This mess is far too scary for us to all continue living in fearful silence.

    In the interests of securing a future for all peoples — yes, even the Israelis — I urge the entire world to roll up a hot, wet towel, stick it in one ear until it pokes out the other ear, and use it like dental floss to purge our brains of all the crusty post-war residue about “hate” and “anti-Semitism.”

    Then, after a right proper round of brain-flossing when we finally feel free to speak without fear of massive retaliation, we need to address the fact that Israel stands alone among all nations in that it’s permitted to dangle its nukes over everyone else’s heads like invisible Swords of Damocles.

    No country — especially one so tiny – should be that privileged.

    This is going to look unbelievably weird, but the FM Iran saying basically the same thing:

    I don't think he belongs there, but, you do, indeed, get sort of a neutral relay from Turkey:

    Quote Fidan, for his part, said Turkey doesn’t want the conflict in Gaza to spiral into a regional war.

    “It is not difficult to predict that this spiral of violence will grow" without a permanent solution to the war, he warned.

    The Iranian foreign minister "shared with us that there are strong indications other armed elements in the region may intervene in the conflict if conditions do not change," Fidan added.

    Fidan also added Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi is set to visit Turkey "soon”.

    Those guys are the wrong kind of Muslims or something, right? They don't really get along or Turkey does not listen to Iran, or something. Perhaps the hostility towards the U. S. has become more important than their petty disputes.

    It's almost tomorrow, so, those other guys can do their "we don't surrender" thing, which, so far, has been found to mean they fight until defeat.
