    🇮🇱🇾🇪A statement issued by the Yemeni Armed Forces

    In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
    God Almighty said: {And whoever commits a aggression against you, then commit a aggression against him in the same manner as he committed a aggression against you.} God Almighty has spoken the truth.
    A victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people who are subjected to aggression and siege.
    With the help of God Almighty, the naval forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out an operation targeting a ship.
    "CMA CGM TAGE CMA CGM TAGE"
    It was heading to the ports of occupied Palestine.

    The targeting operation came after the ship's crew refused to respond to calls from the Yemeni naval forces, including fiery warning messages.

    The Yemeni armed forces confirm that they will continue to prevent Israeli ships or those heading to the ports of occupied Palestine from navigating in the Red and Arab Seas until they bring in the food and medicine our brothers in the Gaza Strip need.

    The Yemeni Armed Forces confirm the continuation of shipping traffic in the Red and Arabian Seas to all destinations around the world except the ports of occupied Palestine.

    The Yemeni armed forces also confirm that any American aggression will not go unanswered or punished.

    The Yemeni armed forces warn the American enemy or others against any attack or action that represents the protection of commercial ships that go to the Zionist entity.

    We in the Yemeni Armed Forces also offer congratulations and condolences to the Mujahideen brothers in the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, on the martyrdom of the leading Mujahid Saleh Al-Arouri and his fellow martyrs.

    Israeli tanks advanced deep into a town in the central Gaza Strip on Thursday after days of relentless bombardment that forced tens of thousands of already displaced Palestinian families to flee in a new exodus.

    A Palestinian journalist posted pictures of Israeli tanks near a mosque in a built-up area of Bureij, the armoured contingent having apparently advanced from orchards on the eastern outskirts.

    Just watched this...

    Dutch Palestinian policy analyst Mouin Rabbani says Israel is using the Hamas attack of October 7 as a pretext to carry out its “long-standing ambition” to push Palestinians out of the Gaza Strip. He notes Israeli officials started proposing mass displacement of civilians to Egypt and other countries almost immediately after fighting began, and that this reflects Zionist policy since even before the founding of the state of Israel. “Ethnic cleansing, or what Zionists would call transfer, is intrinsic to Zionist and later Israeli policy towards the Palestinians from the very outset,” says Rabbani, co-editor of Jadaliyya and host of the Connections podcast. His latest piece for Mondoweiss is headlined “The long history of Zionist proposals to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip.”

    This is really for appreciators and enthusiasts of Douglas Macgregor, and I am one. "Smart as a whip", says Judge Napolitano, and he is indeed. He's also not smiling at all these days, and says "Happy New Year" like he's chewing on ground glass.

    He's not enthusiastic about a thing at the moment, and it comes over clearly. Macgregor is the kind of strong character who if he was unhappy and angry, and very silently walked into a room where you were, you'd sense it within seconds even if your back was turned.

    Macgregor points out that the governments of Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Jordan (let alone Lebanon!) are struggling to keep control of their populations, who are enraged beyond listening to any reasonable words and all want war. And Egypt might be included in that as well, if Israel does all the wrong things. Macgregor seems (at least to me) to indicate that he believes there's a probability that if all the bad things that could happen do happen, Israel may in the end cease to exist.

    It's not clear yet whether this is relevant to the Israel-Palestine war and whether / how Hezbollah will retaliate. It'll become clearer in the next few hours.
    ~~~
    In his conversation with Judge Napolitano an hour or two ago, Max Blumenthal is in absolutely no doubt that this was Israel's attempt to provoke Iran into retaliating, so that then the US would enter the war. That short section starts at 8:50.
    So will we all...it's just a question of how and when.
    Who's "defending" the Red Sea? New Zealand?? Not the places that are actually there.
    Israel continues assassinations in Beirut, and, the explosions in Iran smell like Mossad/CIA/MI6, there is almost no way that violence did not cost millions to some taxpayers.
    Perhaps the most telling HZB response is that the conflict is "unlimited".
    Having technical advantages will not relieve Israel of the limitations it works in.
    Viz.:
    Quote The Hezbollah leader said in three months of fighting in Gaza, Israel has not achieved any strategic victories, adding, “Last night, they were trying to present an image of victory with the treacherous assassination of Sheikh Saleh [Al-Arouri]. But in Gaza, where is it?”
    The Hezbollah chief also said the assassination of Al-Arouri presents a dual escalation: the killing of the Hamas leader and the targeting of South Beirut.
    If the enemy thinks about waging war against Lebanon, then our fighting will be with no ceiling, with no limits, with no rules. And they know what I mean,” he added.
    “We are not afraid of war. We don’t fear it. We are not hesitant. If we were, we would have stopped at the front,” Nasrallah said.
    Nasrallah also accused Israel of undercounting its military casualties both in Gaza and Lebanon, adding, “On our Lebanese front, they don’t release the number of dead and injured, and they’re in the thousands.”
    We don't really know how bad the Yemeni strikes damage large ships, but, they do this after American helicopter attacks. The statistic has inflated up to 8/10 major companies will not ship to Eilat. Someone likes to take their chances. This "strike" may have even missed the French vessel.
    Multiple Israeli newspapers already say Israel is strategically defeated. That's true. Tactically, it can continue long-range strikes for quite some time, but, on the ground, they are not so sure-footed. It is like that when your armed forces are composed of human garbage. The Americans have this at a deep-seated level. It can keep going a little longer, since no one will physically strike the mainland.
    Thanks to attacking Beirut for the first time since 2005:
    Hamas immediately informed the mediators in Egypt and Qatar that it was freezing all negotiations on the release of the hostages with Israel until further notice.
    I guess 2024 will be another year with no attitude check to see if Zionist governments have incited a violent, hateful, never-ending mess. That is, not from within the establishment, as it appears to most of us that they are incapable of thinking or learning, probably worse than baboons.
    International condemnation of bombing in Kerman, Iran
    The recent bombing in Kerman, Iran, has garnered international condemnation from neighboring and global nations. The attack has been widely characterized as a "terrorist attack" against the Iranian people.
    In his statement, the Cuban President, Miguel-Diaz Canel, stressed that his country strongly condemns the terrorist attack during the ceremony commemorating the fourth anniversary of the assassination of Martyr Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Qassem Soleimani
    On the same note, the Venezuelan government expressed its strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that occurred in Kerman.
    The Nicaraguan government expressed its solidarity with the Iranian people and the families of all the victims, adding "We reaffirm our respect and admiration for General Qassem Soleimani on the fourth anniversary of his martyrdom."
    Moreover, Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs also strongly condemned the terrorist attack. Additionally, both the French and Dutch Foreign Ministries strongly condemned the attack.
    In a statement, the Irish Foreign Minister expressed his condemnation of the explosion, adding that "it is a random and reprehensible attack. Terrorism and violence cannot be justified."
    The Pakistani Foreign Ministry extended its "condolences, sympathy, and solidarity" with Iran, also wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
    Arab nations condemning the attack
    The Iraqi government came forward to condemn the terrorist attack in Kerman while declaring solidarity with Iran, the government, and the people.
    The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed the Kingdom's condemnation of the terrorist bombing that targeted civilians.
    The Palestinian Resistance faction, the Islamic Jihad Movement, strongly condemned the bombing in Kerman and the targeting of citizens gathered around martyr Soleimani's shrine. On the other hand, the Palestinian Resistance faction, Hamas, also condemned the attack.
    In the Iranian city of Kerman, dozens were killed and over 100 wounded, according to reports, in a twin blast that rocked the city as Iranians flooded the streets marching toward the cemetery where Martyred Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, General Qassem Soleimani was laid to rest on the 4th anniversary of his martyrdom.
    Israel will be just fine. They have come out stronger every time they have been attacked, whereas the Arabs on the other hand, generally end up worse off.
    Once this war is over, Saudi Arabia will go back to publicly normalising relations with Israel, as will the other countries and Iran will remain a pariah.
    I've no idea what will happen to Quatar though and Erdoğan is pushing his luck.
    Rage over Gaza: Washington Will Pay for Its Support of Israel
    A famous quote by Franz Kafka says, “Every thing you love is very likely to be lost, but in the end, love will return in a different way.”
    The same principle, I believe, applies to any other powerful feeling, including resentment, hate, anger, even rage.
    American officials should know this well as they continue to support Israel with billions of dollars of military and economic aid and anything and everything that would allow Israel to continue with its genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza.
    The Arabs, the Muslims – in fact, the whole world – are watching, listening, reading, and are getting angrier by the day at the direct American role in facilitating the Gaza bloodbath.
    Israel’s military campaign in Gaza “has wreaked more destruction than the razing of Syria’s Aleppo between 2012 and 2016, Ukraine’s Mariupol or, proportionally, the Allied bombing of Germany in World War II” and “now sits among the deadliest and most destructive in recent history,” the Associated Press reported, based on recent satellite data analysis.
    Aside from the tens of thousands of dead and missing in the rubble, even a higher number of people have been injured and maimed, including thousands of children. Countless children are left “grappling with the loss of an arm or a leg,” according to UNICEF.
    This agony of Gaza is being watched on television and is also being viewed through every possible medium of communication. It is as if the world is suffering along with the Gaza children, but without being able to stop or slow down the genocide.
    And, yet, even when all European countries, save a few, reversed their position on the war, joining the rest of the world in demanding an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, Washington continued to reject these calls.
    This is how US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, justified her country’s use of the veto, striking down the first serious attempt by the UN Security Council to achieve a permanent truce on October 18: “Israel has the inherent right of self-defense as reflected in Article 51 of the UN Charter.”
    That same logic has been repeated many times by US officials since then, even when the extent of the Gaza tragedy became known to everyone, including the Americans themselves.
    This self-serving logic goes against the very spirit of international and humanitarian law, which vehemently rejects the targeting of civilians during times of war and conflict and the prevention of humanitarian aid from reaching civilian victims of war.
    Indeed, the vast majority of Gaza’s victims are civilians, and according to UNICEF, over 70 percent of all of those killed and wounded are women and children.
    Moreover, due to the inhumane Israeli practices, Gaza survivors are now dealing with an actual famine, an unprecedented event in the modern history of Palestine.
    Yet, Israel continues to prevent access to food, medicine, fuel, and other urgent supplies to Gaza, thus violating Washington’s own laws on the matter.
    “No assistance shall be furnished to any country when it is made known to the President that the government of such country prohibits or otherwise restricts, directly or indirectly, the transport or delivery of US humanitarian assistance,” the US Foreign Assistance Act (Section 620I) states.
    The Biden Administration has done nothing to pressure – let alone force – Israel to adhere to the most basic humanitarian laws in its ongoing genocide in Gaza. Worse, President Biden is furnishing Israel with the needed tools to prolong this destructive war.
    According to a December 25 report by Israel’s Channel 12, more than 20 ships and 244 US airplanes have delivered over 10,000 tons of armaments and military equipment to Israel since the start of the war.
    These military supplies include, according to the Wall Street Journal, at least 100 BLU-109, 2,000-pound bunker-buster bombs, which have been repeatedly used throughout the Israeli war, killing and wounding hundreds each time.
    The only tangible action that the US has taken since the start of the war was to create a coalition named ‘Operation Prosperity Guardian,’ with the sole purpose of ensuring the safety of ships crossing the Red Sea into or from Israel.
    The US, however, seems to have learned nothing from the past, from its devastating wars on Iraq, from the so-called war on terror, and from its failure to find a balance between its support for Israel and its respect for Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims. On the contrary, some US officials seem entirely detached from this reality.
    At a press conference at the White House on December 7, US National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby, proclaimed:
    Tell me, name me, one more nation, any other nation, that is doing as much as the United States to alleviate the pain and suffering of the people of Gaza. You can’t. You just can’t.”
    But how are ‘dumb bombs,’ ‘smart bombs,’ bunker busters, and tens of thousands of tons of explosives “alleviating the pain and suffering” of Gaza and her children?
    If Kirby is unaware of his country’s role in the genocide in Gaza, then the crisis in American foreign policy is worse than we could have imagined. If he is aware, as he should be, then his country’s moral crisis is arguably unprecedented in modern history.
    The problem in US politics is that American administrations have a segmented view of reality, as they are intently focused on how their action, or inaction, will affect their political parties in future elections.
    But Americans who care about their country and its position in a vastly changing Middle East and rapidly shifting global geopolitics should remember that history neither starts nor finishes on a fixed November date, once every four years.
    “In the end, love will return in a different way,” Kafka wrote. He is right. But hate, too, tends to return as well, manifesting itself in myriad ways. Washington should have realized that on its own more than any other country.
