At least 11 dead, including gunman, and 24 injured in university mass shooting in Prague.

The shooter from the University of Prague is reportedly named David Kozak. He killed and injured dozens. Afterwards, he took his own life.

Kozak opened fire on the fourth floor of the building of the Faculty of Philosophy at Charles University.

Picture on the right: desperate students climbed out of the windows and sat on the ledge to escape. One of the girls fell and died.

Prague killer who left 15 dead in university gun rampage is now also suspected of killing a father and his child in chilling 'dry run' in nearby village a week ago.

ICTS international was established in 1982 ALSO by former members of Shin Bet.

Polish government takes public TV news channel off air amid reform drive

We seem to have missed this development in Poland (apologies if it's been posted elsewhere and it was just me who missed it). This was on the Michael Portillo Show GBNews today and grabbed my attention.

WARSAW, Dec 20 (Reuters) - Poland's new government took a public news channel off the air on Wednesday and dismissed executives from state media to restore "impartiality", the culture ministry said, as Prime Minister Donald Tusk's reform drive faced its first big test.

Tusk's pro-European Union coalition took power last week from the nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party, which critics say damaged judicial independence, soured European Union relations and turned state-owned media into an outlet for propaganda during its eight years in office.

The relevant segment is at start: 22:25 and finishes 35-31 (about 12 minutes) and includes opinion from the previous Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki.

SECRET TUNNELS REPORTEDLY FOUND UNDER CHABAD-LUBAVITCH HEADQUARTERS IN NEW YORK!

I’m tracking the story of the secret tunnels found under the Chabad-Lubavitch Headquarters in Crown Heights.

A Union Street homeowner told http://CrownHeights.info several weeks ago that they had been hearing suspicious noises at night in their home for a period of time. As the noise continued, the concerned homeowner notified someone of the sounds and their suspicion.

http://CrownHights.info reported that around this same time construction workers found what appeared to be a tunnel underground.

Last night vandalism and chaos occurred allegedly because cement trucks were brought in to fill in the tunnels. The bochurim allegedly began disconnecting, hosing and vandalizing the cement trucks.

The NYPD was called in and the vandalism continued inside. The bochurim flipped tables and ripped off the walls of downstairs 770 exposing the hidden tunnel. There were reportedly also attempts to pepper spray police officers.

One of the more disturbing videos from the incident shows a stained mattress was pulled from the underground tunnel. Also, there’s a photo of what appears to be a baby highchair allegedly found in the tunnel. There were reportedly at least 10 people arrested.

Curiously, there’s photos of mainstream media at the scene at around 7 p.m. EST; however, the MSM has been suspiciously silent. This raises red flags — are they all waiting for their 4 a.m. talking points before they cover this?

The X page for The Chabad-Lubavitch Headquarters released a statement over an hour ago; however, they made no mention of the tunnels. The statement read:

“The Chabad-Lubavitch community is pained by the vandalism of a group of young agitators who damaged the synagogue below Chabad Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway Monday night. These odious actions will be investigated, and the sanctity of the synagogue will be restored. Our thanks to the NYPD for their professionalism and sensitivity.”

There’s no clear indication on what these tunnels were used for. I’ve reported extensively on how there’s underground tunnels all over the county that are used to traffic children. Sadly, this is not uncommon. Let’s hope this is not what these tunnels were used for regarding this incident.

We’ll see how this plays out.

Not a person, but a sect within Orthodox Judiasm. Not a large group (under 100,000 on the planet) but they do make them selves noticed. My liberal Jewish friends call them "Lubavitchers" but I think the proper name is Chabad. They evangelize and question people on the streets if they are Jewish and try to get them to their meetings. I think they may be the only Jewish sect to do so.

Per an article in the New York Post the tunnel:

was apparently designed to reach an abandoned women’s mikvah — or ritual bath — around the corner and “expand” the synagogue, according to the Jewish outlet Forward, but it is unclear what motivated the members of the Chabad-Lubavitch community to start digging out the tunnel.

There are often problems between various Orthodox Jewish communities conflicting with local and state laws. The usual problem is the construction of an Eruv. If you are within a Eruv, there are many things you can do a Sabbath that you can't do otherwise (e.g. carry keys, medications, push your baby in a stroller, which you could not otherwise do outside of your house on a Sabbath.) The Eruvs run into problems because they are a religious structure that some want to build on public property.

If the tunnel is really about getting women to a Mikvah (ritual bath) then this makes sense. In Isreal, where some Haredi Jews are able to build neighborhoods according to their customs, women have to walk on one side of the street and men on the other. The tunnel might just be another way to segregate women from men.

The bill makes slaughtering, breeding, trade and sale of dog meat for human consumption illegal from 2027.

Eating dog meat will still be legal however.

There are currently around 1600 dog meat restaurants and 1150 dog farms in South Korea.

Farmers and restaurant owners have three years to find an alternative line of work.

The government has promised to support all those involved in the industry whose businesses will close as a result of the ban.
