Hezbollah strikes Israeli 'Meron' airbase, IOF HQ in North
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah, announced today that it struck the "Meron" airbase. In the attack, the Resistance said it used rocket and artillery weapons to target the occupation's strategically significant air traffic base.
In two other operations, the Islamic Resistance said it targeted "the Command Headquarters of the Eastern Brigade 769 in Kiryat Shmona barracks and Command Headquarters of Israel's 146th Division in Jaatoun using Katyusha rockets."
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon reiterated that these operations come in support of the resilient Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in response to the Israeli occupation's attacks on Lebanese villages and civilians, the latest of which was the aggression on the villages of Shehabiya and Ain Baal in southern Lebanon.
Israeli media, on the other hand, reported damage to infrastructure due to rocket strikes in "Kiryat Shmona".
Israeli media also confirmed that "rocket warning sirens sounded in northern Israel settlements close to the Lebanon border."
In further detail, Israeli media reported the launch of more than 20 rockets from Lebanon towards the Western al-Jalil.
Meanwhile, Israeli attacks on southern Lebanese villages and towns continue, with Israeli drones targeting two cars in the town of Shehabiya, resulting in casualties, according to reports from Al-Mayadeen's correspondent.
Our correspondent also reported that an Israeli drone strike targeted a car between the towns of Ain Baal and Aitit in southern Lebanon.
Martyrs on the path of Al-Quds
Hezbollah also released a statement announcing three new martyrs on the path of Al-Quds, opening the statement with a verse of the Quran reading: "Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their pledge ˹with their lives˺, others are waiting ˹their turn˺. They have never changed ˹their commitment˺ in the least." Quran (33:23).
Hezbollah announced, "With utmost pride and honor," that its "noble" martyrs are:
- Martyr Ismail Yusuf Baz "Abu Jaafar" from Shehabiya
- Martyr Muhammad Hussein Mustafa Shihouri "Jaber" from Shehabiya
- Martyr Mahmoud Ibrahim Fadlallah "Shadi" from the town of Ainata
Meanwhile, Lebanese Resistance Movement - Amal (from the acronym Afwaj al-Mouqawma Al-Lubnaniyya) released a statement announcing a new martyr: Hussein Qasim Kirsht, who was killed in an Israeli aggression on the town of Ain Baal in southern Lebanon.

Eastern Sector:
1- At 14:25, an aerial attack with drones targeted two positions, hitting the Iron Dome battery and its crew, resulting in casualties.
2- At 15:40, Zibdine barracks in the occupied Shebaa Farms were targeted with rockets.
3- At 17:45, the Baghdadi site was targeted with artillery shells.
4- At 16:15, the Samaqa site in the occupied hills of Kafr Shuba was targeted with artillery shells.
5- At 16:45, "Beit Hillel" military base was targeted with Katyusha rockets in response to Israeli aggressions on safe villages, most recently in Ain Baal.
6- At 19:25, Brigade 769 headquarters in Kiryat Shmona was targeted with Katyusha rockets in response to Israeli attacks on resilient southern villages and civilian homes.
Western Sector:
1- At 19:30 on Monday, April 15, 2024, a gathering of Israeli soldiers near the site of Birket Risha was targeted with rockets.
2- At 19:30, the headquarters of the air surveillance unit in Meron was targeted with rocket and artillery weapons.
3- At 20:10, the headquarters of Division 146 in Jaatoun was targeted with Katyusha rockets in response to Israeli attacks.

Very hard to replicate interception success against 2nd strike: Axios
In a meeting with a group of American Jewish leaders, Secretary of State Antony Blinken told them that further escalation with Iran is not in the interests of either the US or "Israel", three people who took part in the meeting informed Axios.
A senior US official told Axios that according to the US, any significant and open strike by "Israel" on Iranian soil, will be met by a new round of missile and drone attacks from Iran.
"We think it will be very hard to replicate the huge success we had on Saturday with defeating the attack if Iran launches hundreds of missiles and drones again — and the Israelis know it," another US official said.
It is "Israel's" decision
However, Blinken did not order "Israel" not to respond to Iran emphasizing that it is its decision, a person who took part in the meeting said adding "But his message was: Be smart, strategic, and limited as possible."
Blinken told the Jewish leaders that "Strength and wisdom are two sides of the same coin."
According to two people who took part in the meeting he also said that "we would never tell Israel what to do," adding that the Biden administration was simply providing "Israel" with the best advice.
Blinken praises Jordan and Saudi Arabia
According to one of the attendees, speaking to the group, Blinken praised the Jordanian and Saudi "defensive efforts" against Iran's retaliatory attack by labeling it as very important as it opens opportunities for the future.
Two attendees emphasized that Blinken claimed that Hamas's refusal of the most recent captives' deal was possible because it believed that the Iranian retaliatory strike could lead to an escalation in the region.
Blinken further claimed that the absence of a regional war would put Hamas under pressure regarding the captives' deal.
The State Department refused to comment.
Gallant told Austin Israeli response to Iran is inevitable
Axios reported on April 15, citing sources with knowledge on the matter, that "Israel's" Security Minister Yoav Gallant informed US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin over the phone about Israeli plans to respond to Iran's recent retaliatory attack.
According to the report, Gallant told Austin that "Israel" will not tolerate the Iranian attack going without a response. It will also not tolerate retaliatory responses every time the regime strikes targets in Syria.
Iran's overnight attack on April 14 was conducted in response to "Israel's" recent aggression on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. According to reports, the attack involved drones, cruise missiles, and surface-to-surface missiles launched from Iran. The strikes that were intercepted came in joint collaboration between US, French, UK, and Jordanian forces. However, none of the hypersonic missiles launched by Tehran were intercepted by "Israel's" Iron Dome.
Although "Israel" was allegedly ready for an immediate counterattack, US President Joe Biden reportedly urged the regime to halt any operation.
AFP reported on April 14 citing a US senior source that the US does not plan to join any prospective Israeli strike against Iran in response to Tehran's retaliatory strike.

A senior administration official and a source familiar with the intelligence informed CNN that the United States foresees "Israel's" military reaction to Iran's strikes to be of what he described as "restricted nature."
Based on information from a second source, US intelligence suggests that "Israel" is contemplating a targeted and restricted military strike within Iran in retaliation for "the unprecedented scale of the Iranian attack". However, "Israel" has not officially informed the United States about its intended plans or timing, as per a senior administration official.
“We would hope that they would give us some warning so that we're prepared to protect our personnel, not just military but diplomatic throughout the region,” the administration official said as quoted by CNN.
“But there's no guarantee they will give us they will give us a heads up and they know when they give us a head’s up, we're likely to again register our objection to whatever they're about to conduct,” the official added.
The official further mentioned that should "Israel" choose not to retaliate, the US is assured that there will be a reduction in tensions, leading to a return to the previous state of affairs.
“But any additional move now opens up a series of other possibilities, some of which are quite frightening,” the senior official stressed.
This comes as Iranian officials have made it clear that Iran stands ready to confront any Israeli attack following Operation True Promise launched by Iranian forces in response to the Israeli aggression that targeted the country's consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus on April 1.
The Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force, Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari, affirmed in an exclusive statement to Al Mayadeen, on Tuesday, that Iranian forces are "always prepared to respond to any threat, regardless of its magnitude, at any time, and any day."
He stated that the Iranian response to any attack would be as decisive and strong as the one the illegitimate Zionist entity suffered on April 14, stressing that this approach is to protect Iran's people and defend their dignity and sovereignty.
Heydari emphasized that the Iranian Armed Forces worked cohesively under the command of their general commander to strongly and decisively respond to the empty slogans and rumors in international public circles.
