Putin: USA is building up armed forces along Russian borders 10.09.2024

The United States is building up its armed forces along all of Russia's borders, including on Ukraine and the Asia-Pacific region, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during his speech at the Ocean-2024 command and staff exercises, TASS reports.



"Under the pretext of countering the allegedly existing Russian threat and containing the People's Republic of China, the United States and its satellites are building up their military presence near Russia's western borders — in the Arctic and in the Asia-Pacific region," Putin said.

The USA is thus provoking a new arms race, the Russian president said. According to him, Washington's strategy is preventing the conflict in Ukraine from ending.

"Russia must be ready for any development of the situation, and our armed forces must ensure reliable protection of the sovereignty and national interests of Russia and repel possible military aggression in any direction," Putin said.

According to the head of state, the navy plays a key role in solving this problem, since attacks can be carried out in ocean and sea zone.

"We will continue to strengthen our navy, including its strategic and nuclear component. We will systematically and comprehensively develop all types and branches of the armed forces, increase their strike capabilities, improve the training of ship crews, coastal and air units, taking into account real combat experience," the president concluded.

The Ocean-2024 exercise is taking place from September 10 to 16 in the waters of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, the Mediterranean, Caspian and Baltic Seas.

More than 400 warships, submarines and auxiliary fleet support vessels, about 120 naval aircraft and helicopters, and over 90,000 personnel take part in the drills. Ships and aircraft of the People's Liberation Army of China are also participating in practical exercises.

Former US Pilots Actively Recruited for Romanian Training Hub of Ukrainian F-16 Pilots

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - A US defense contractor has been actively looking to hire former US military pilots as instructors for NATO’s regional F-16 training hub in Romania, where Ukrainian pilots would be trained, a Sputnik correspondent has found after analyzing recent public job listings.

Draken International, a top US defense contractor in the military aviation industry, listed a number of jobs on its official website to support its work at the Romanian Air Force F-16 Training Center located at the 86th Air Base in Romania. The F-16 training center opened its doors in November last year, with about 50 Ukrainian pilots reportedly expected to undergo training.
According to job listings from Draken International, the US defense contractor appears to be responsible for the operations at the F-16 training center in Romania.
Draken International only listed the openings for the Romania-based positions on its main US-based website, instead of the website of its Europe-based subsidiary known as Draken Europe.

The listed positions included F-16 Instructor Pilot, F-16 Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Technician and Aircrew Flight Equipment Specialist, as well as other positions that could support the center’s daily operations. Most of the Romania-based job openings were posted in mid-August.

The qualifications listed for the F-16 Instructor Pilot required the candidates to have at least 2000 F-16 hours, with current F-16 qualification as desired and over 500 F-16 instructor hours as highly desired.
Candidates for the F-16 Instructor Pilots are required to obtain and maintain secret security clearance by September 1, 2023.
All the candidates for the Romania-based jobs are also required to go through the verification process as if the persons are hired to work in the United States.

According to data from popular employment website Indeed.com, Draken International only received an average rating of 2.6 out of 5 through 37 reviews.

Bloody Adventure In Kursk Region Coming To Its End 11.09.2024

Bloody adventure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Russian Kursk region is probably coming to its end. On September 10, the Russian military launched a series of successful counterattacks. By the morning of September 11, about a dozen settlements came back under the full Russian control.

The Russian army took control of dozens of square kilometers on the western flank of the Ukrainian grouping operating on the Russian territory. Snagost, Apanasovka, Gordeevka and other settlements were liberated. The Armed Forces of Ukraine retreated from the outskirts of Korenevo and withdrew from Olgovka. Russian landed in Obukhovka. Ukrainian forces fled from the village and it was mopped up.

Ukrainian defense collapsed very fast. Since the Ukrainian offensive was mainly launched by small mobilized groups and the transfer of large forces to the Russian region was complicated by heavy strikes, Ukrainian forces failed to reinforce their positions in the captured settlements on the flanks.

Russian counterattacks result in escape of the Ukrainian army. Ukrainian soldiers abandon military equipment and corps of their dead comrades. Many Ukrainian groups were surrounded and destroyed. Dozens of Ukrainian units surrendered.

Moreover, the direction of Russian counter-offensive is threatening the entire Ukrainian grouping in the Kursk region with a large cauldron. Russian forces are now rapidly advancing along the state border. They are only 15 kilometers from the road to Sudzha, the largest settlement and the main stronghold under Ukrainian control. The main supply route to Ukrainian forces risk to be cut off soon.

At the same time, the Ukrainian military lost any initiative in other directions. Fleeing on the northwestern flank, Ukrainian forces are embroiled in counter battles around Sudzha. Ukrainian attacks are repelled near Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Borki.

The Ukrainian military command has no time to hesitate. Rather they send additional reinforcement, weakening defense in other directions in the Donbass, or they risk losing the large grouping on the Russian land.

Another Kyiv’s victory is turning into a strategic defeat. Both Russian and Western military experts compare Ukrainian incursion in the Kursk region to the failed counteroffensive on the southern Zaporozhie front last year, as well as to the senseless battle for the foothold in Krinky on the Russian bank of the Dnieper River. Large Ukrainian reserves were tolled into a trap where they are grinded. Demoralized, exhausted Ukrainian soldiers again do not understand the goals of the risky operations. The reason is that the Kyiv regime and its NATO partners are set not to defend their population but to send as many Ukrainians as possible into a slaughter of the prolonged war against Russia.

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry sent there amphibious units of the Ukrainian Navy special operations servicemen aboard 14 U.S.-made Willard Sea Force motor boats to capture the drilling platform.

The Black Sea Fleet and Russian servicemen securing and defending of the drilling platform sank eight motor boats and eliminated up to 80 Ukrainian special operations troops during the hostilities.

Other six Ukrainian motor boats retreated without even attempting to pick up their wounded in the water.

The Russian ground troops have recaptured around 10 villages in the counterattacks in Kursk in recent days. The counteroffensive is underway according to current information from the east. There are reports that speak of further counterattacks in the direction of Sudzha, but there is currently not enough confirmed information on this. Liberating settlements: developments in Kursk Region

MOSCOW, September 11. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces lost more than 350 military personnel and 13 pieces of hardware in the Kursk Region over the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

In total, the enemy has lost over 12,200 servicemen since fighting began in the region.

Major General Apty Alaudinov, deputy chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Main Military-Political Department and commander of the Akhmat special forces commando unit, reported that the Russian army had liberated ten settlements in the Kursk Region.

TASS has gathered the key news about the unfolding situation.

Operation to neutralize Ukrainian forces

- Units of the battlegroup North, backed by army aviation and artillery fire, repelled an enemy counterattack towards the settlement of Apanasovka.

- The Russian military also foiled Ukrainian attempts to attack the settlements of Cherkasskaya Konopelka, Borki and Fanaseyevka.

- The Russian army defeated clusters of enemy manpower and hardware near Borki, Byakhovo, Guyevo, Vishnevka, Daryino, Zeleny Shlyakh, Kolmakov, Kositsa, Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Makhnovka, Martynovka, Novaya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Obukhovka, Orlovka, Snagost and Uspenovka.

- Russian jets hit enemy troop concentrations in the Sumy Region.

Ukraine’s losses

- Over the day, Ukraine lost more than 350 troops and 13 armored vehicles, including three tanks, three armored personnel carriers, and seven armored combat vehicles, as well as an artillery piece, two multiple rocket launchers, and 19 vehicles.

- Since the beginning of hostilities in Russia’s borderline region, Ukraine’s losses have amounted to more than 12,200 troops, 96 tanks, 42 infantry fighting vehicles, 77 armored personnel carriers, 656 armored combat vehicles, 401 vehicles, 90 artillery pieces, 26 multiple rocket launchers, including M142 HIMARS and five US-made M270 MLRS, eight anti-aircraft missile launchers, two transport-loading vehicles, 22 radar stations, seven counter-battery radars, two air defense radars, eight pieces of engineering equipment, including two engineering demolition vehicles and a UR-77 demining unit.

- Ten Ukrainian servicemen were captured, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

Alaudinov’s statements

- Russian troops have liberated ten settlements in the Kursk Region, Deputy Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Main Military-Political Department, Akhmat Special Forces Commander Major General Apty Alaudinov told TASS.

- According to him, Ukrainian troops are suffering heavy losses and are starting to realize that holding the territory won’t be a cakewalk.

Damage to agriculture

- Preliminary estimates put the cost of damage caused to the Kursk Region's agricultural complex at tens of billions of rubles, and this figure is constantly increasing, the region's acting governor Alexey Smirnov said at the final board meeting of the Agriculture Ministry.

- He submitted a report which estimates the cost of damage at 85 billion rubles ($933 mln).

Russia Says It Could ‘Combine’ With China If Both Face Threat From the US September 11

The comment comes as Russia is conducting major naval exercises with Chinese participation

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Wednesday that Russia’s partnership with China is not aimed at any third country, but the two countries could “combine” to respond to threats from the US.

“I would like to remind you that Moscow and Beijing will respond to ‘double containment’ by the United States with ‘double counteraction,'” Zakharova said when asked about US plans to deploy a Typhon missile system to Japan for several months, according to Reuters.

The Typhon is a new missile system developed by the US that would have been banned under the Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, a treaty between the US and Russia that the Trump administration tore up in 2019. The INF prohibited land-based missile systems with a range between 310 and 3,400 miles.

The Typhon can fire nuclear-capable Tomahawk missiles, which have a range of over 1,000 miles. The US recently deployed a Typhon system to the Philippines and is planning on sending missile systems to Germany by 2026, which Russia views as a major threat.

“It is clear that both Russia and China will react to the emergence of additional and very significant missile threats, and their reaction will be far from being political, which has also been repeatedly confirmed by the two countries,” Zakharova said.

Zakharova’s comments come amid large-scale Russian naval drills that the Russian military said involve over 90,000 personnel, 400 warships and submarines, and 120 aircraft. China is participating in the Pacific portion of the drill with three Chinese ships and 15 planes.

Russia and China have increased their military cooperation in recent years directly in response to he similar pressure the two countries have been facing from the US and its allies. Zakharova insisted the relationship is defensive in nature.

“Our relations are not directed against third countries… and double counteraction does not contradict this. This is a defensive position, this is not an initiative to target other countries,” she told Reuters. “But if an aggressive policy of attack is being implemented against us from one center, why don’t we combine our potential and give an appropriate rebuff?”

Red Cross Mission Came Under Attack Near Chasov Yar, DPR – Report



On September 12, the humanitarian mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) came under attack in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The attack was reported both by Russian and Ukrainian military sources.

The group of volunteers and civilians reportedly came under artillery shelling in the area of the village of Verolyubovka located west of Chasov Yar in the DPR. The settlement is under control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There are about 10 kilometers from the frontlines.

Several vehicles that were delivering humanitarian aid to local residents affected by the fighting were destroyed. The building of some industrial entreprise nearby, where people were inside, was damaged. According to the local Ukrainian authorities, three people were killed and two others were wounded.

The humanitarian workers were unloading wood and coal to help people in the Donetsk region prepare for the winter when vehicles they were using were hit, the Red Cross said. According to the ICRC, no civilians were affected by the shelling. All the dead were reportedly citizens of Ukraine.

Ukrainian authorities immediately blamed the Russian military for another alleged war crime. Zelensky was quick to immediately comment on the attack to gain the headlines. However, the only evidence of the Russian guilt are only cries of Ukrainian officials. Ukrainian propaganda has been blaming Russian forces for genocide of the Ukrainian people and attacks on civilians but all Ukrainian lies are fastly revealed.

Russian military observers blamed Ukraine for another provocation. The Kiev regime seeks to discredit the Russian army at any cost, even at the cost of the lives of its own citizens, especially when the Ukrainian army is fleeing defeat in all directions on the frontlines.

The humanitarian mission could be shelled by the Ukrainian artillery. The Russian military has no need to destroy wood brought to civilians. On the other hand, Kiev gained the necessary media effect showing the ICRC vehicles on fire.

The ICRC vehicles could be affected by the attack on the entreprise, which could be used by the Ukrainian military, as Ukrainian soldiers always do in the rear areas. It is also unclear why the Ukrainian authorities do not evacuate civilians from the war-torn areas but volunteers bring them wood for winter when there is a great risk that the battles would come to the village long before the cold weather.

Moreover, the Ukrainian military is known to use medical vehicles to hide transfer of military equipment. For example, on August 27, Russian reconnaissance spotted Ukrainian column in the area of Chuguev. Grad MLRS, French BBMs, and other vehicles were transfered in the column that included civilian tractors with cargo semi-trailers, some of which were covered by the symbols of the Red Cross and were secretly transferring Ukrainian manpower.

And one of the most important parts of democracy is freedom of choice, freedom of information, freedom of voice,” Aleksandar Vulin told Sputnik.

Deputy PM Vulin weighed in on the West's self-harming sanctions policy targeting Russia, stressing that Serbia will never follow such a course.

“We, of course, do not impose any sanctions on Russia, and we will never do that. There are lots of things that we can work together [on]. Of course, the energy sector is most important and the biggest part of our economic relations,” underscored Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister.
