Although this is a nearly insignificant factor, because multiple squadrons of F-16s will do Ukraine no avail, this is exactly what Hezbollah can work to its advantage in Israel. Haven't heard if it worked yet, but, things are leaning that way.

I have had to interrupt my viewing of the three-people panel discussion you have posted Tintin – regretfully so, because it is of the highest degree of information quality, analytical power, psychological perspicacity and beyond any self-indulgence or mythomania. I plan to watch the rest tomorrow.

It took me a minute (or a few thereof) to decode Michael's post, since I've not been focused on this thread, but I take it that Michel's mention of a "three-people panel" refers to the "great discussion" that avid posted and Tintin quoted.

I came by this thread to post what seems to me to be a quite insightful analysis of the events that have been unfolding, partially behind the scenes, over the decades (centuries, actually) and days, that led to this escalation of tensions between NATO and Russia.

It seems that:

• The long standing British talent for meddling in the affairs of other nations, to get them fighting each other, both within and between nations, is still afoot, and was a key impetus in this latest escalation of tensions between Russia and NATO.
  
• However some key US Military leaders decided that blowing up the world on their watch was not such a hot idea after all.

All this is spelled out, in delicious detail, in Alex Krainer's latest post on his TrendCompass Substack:

• I fantasized being U.S. President and having my administration arrest a number of British diplomats, bankers and intelligence agents for FARA violations: Failing to Register as Foreign Agents. The US and UK are forcing Germany to hide the truth and blame "Ukrainian desperados," the SVR has claimed

The US and UK masterminded the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines in an act of economic warfare against their EU allies, Russia's SVR foreign intelligence service has claimed.

The assessment released on Thursday, on the second anniversary of the undersea bombing, detailed an alleged effort by Washington and London to interfere in the investigation and blame another party.

The intelligence "definitively points to the pipeline attack being an act of international terrorism and an act of economic war [by the US and UK] against European allies, primarily the Federal Republic of Germany," the statement said.

The SVR claimed that Washington and London have been conducting a sustained campaign to "remove the issue of the Nord Stream sabotage from international agenda," ramping up their efforts in August.

"Media answering to Washington and London are promoting the narrative that the attack was conducted exclusively by Ukrainian extremists, who acted independently," it said, adding that the scenario "does not hold water". German investigators are being pressured to accept this version as the main one, and "wrap up the probe before the year ends," the statement alleged.

Berlin has been issued with an ultimatum, demanding that it name "Russia-hating Ukrainian desperados" as the culprits and "deflect a blow to trans-Atlantic cooperation," the SVR stated.

The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines were built under the Baltic Sea to deliver Russian natural gas directly to Germany. The attack in September 2022 was blamed by Western media on a privately funded group of Ukrainian divers, who supposedly acted on orders from General Valery Zaluzhny, who was later dismissed and became Kiev's ambassador to the UK.

Prior to the attack, senior US officials, including President Joe Biden and veteran diplomat Victoria Nuland, had issued threats against Russian energy infrastructure, particularly the Nord Stream 2 project, which was completed in September 2021, a decade after Nord Stream 1 went on stream.

Nord Stream 2 significantly expanded the capacity of the network, but was never used due to Germany's refusal to license it amid tensions with Russia over Ukraine.

Comment: Two years after the Nord Stream sabotage that destroyed infrastructure which had required about 10 billion Euros to build, the governments conducting investigations have revealed little. Sweden and Denmark closed down their investigation without being able to say much. The German Government dragged its feet and came up with some indications and on that basis issued a warrant for a Ukrainian. Excluding Russia from ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp by Soviet troops illustrates what's wrong with the West, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said.
Troops of the Red Army's 332nd Rifle Division reached the death camp, built in southern Poland by Nazi Germany, on January 27, 1945, liberating around 7,000 remaining prisoners.

"Soon you will have the ceremony marking the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp," Vucic told Serbian media on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York.
"Those who liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Russians, won't be invited. I presume that those who had the camp built will be invited," Vucic said. "Everything in this world is, pardon my phrase, perverted and inverted."

The Auschwitz Museum in Poland has made a point of not inviting Russia to ceremonies since the outbreak of hostilities with Ukraine in 2022. Last year, museum director Piotr Cywinski accused Moscow of a "similar sick megalomania" and "similar lust for power" as the Nazis, drawing a rebuke from Moscow.

"This is the anniversary of liberation," Cywinski said in a statement earlier this week. "We remember the victims, but we also celebrate freedom. It is hard to imagine the presence of Russia, which clearly does not understand the value of freedom. Such presence would be cynical."

The Serbian president brought up Cywinski's gesture in the context of Western leaders repeatedly invoking "territorial integrity and respecting the UN Charter," but only when it comes to Ukraine.
"When it comes to the Serbs, who cares?" Vucic said. "They don't care, that's the point. They can seize Serbian territory and back secession with impunity."

The US and its allies backed the ethnic Albanian separatists in the Serbian province of Kosovo to declare independence in 2008, and have since pressured Belgrade to recognize this act. Vucic has refused.

The Serbian president lamented that Kosovo Albanians and other groups in the Balkans routinely trample the rights of the Serbs "because they think they can do whatever they want, since they are protected by big Western powers."

Moscow has accused the US of historical revisionism in recent years, as Washington pushed a narrative that World War II started with a "joint" Nazi and Soviet invasion of Poland, while omitting the Soviet role in defeating the Third Reich and liberating Auschwitz.

Minus four F-16s: VKS hit Starokonstantinov airfield with Kinzhal missiles 26 Sept.



This morning, Russian military forces struck the Starokostiantyniv airfield in the Khmelnytsky region of Ukraine with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. The locals reported that after the strike, there was heavy smoke in the air harbor. In all likelihood, Russian intelligence tracked the appearance of a "fat target" at the air base.

The first reports of the takeoff of Russian MiG-31K fighters, which are carriers of the Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, were disseminated by Ukrainian monitoring resources at about ten o'clock in the morning. And a few minutes later, reports appeared about landings at the Starokostiantyniv airfield.

This airfield was considered by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their Western sponsors as one of the locations for basing American F-16 fighters, a limited batch of which was transferred to Ukraine some time ago. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command periodically deployed long-range Western weapons at the airbase, which belongs to the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force.

Ukrainian generals, realizing that Russian intelligence was constantly monitoring the movement of Western precision weapons systems, used the tactic of transferring them from one place to another. Starokonstantinov is just one of the options. But, apparently, the Russian Armed Forces received reliable information about the presence of either F-16 fighters or long-range Western missiles at the facility. Otherwise, it is unlikely that anyone would have used expensive Kinzhals to strike the airfield.

According to Ukrainian journalist Anatoly Shariy, four American F-16 fighters were destroyed at the Starokostiantyniv airfield as a result of a strike by Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. It is also highly likely that Ukrainian pilots could have been hit along with the combat vehicles.

This was not particularly influential to America until Woodrow Wilson.

Any Oligarchy has sub-sets of competing oligarchies, and so of course there will be some number of practical-minded folk who are not obsessed with ideals or military domination. And then a more normal person who goes career military and gains experience will become that type of commander who doesn't believe in risking everything to destroy everything.

Ukraine Preparing to Use Chemical, Biological Weapons in Kherson Region - Governor yesterday


GENICHESK (Sputnik) - Ukrainian prisoners of war say that Kiev is preparing to use chemical and bacteriological weapons to infect the water bodies in the Kherson Region, the governor of the Russian-controlled part of the region, Vladimir Saldo, told Sputnik on Sunday.

"They [the Ukrainian authorities] are preparing for it, unfortunately. That's what prisoners say. They are preparing to use chemical weapons to potentially infect water bodies, which will then be a biological weapon," Saldo said.

In light of this, the governor proposed introducing civil defense lessons in local schools.

In February 2022, the Russian Defense Ministry discovered the existence of 30 US-funded military biological laboratories in Ukraine. According to Moscow, Washington has spent over $200 million to develop biological weapons at the facilities. Russia also said that the labs discovered in Ukraine constituted only a small part of a global network of over 300 similar facilities. Washington has denied the allegations.
