    • Israel Jails American Grayzone Journalist, Potentially Facing Death Penalty:

Grayzone journalist Jeremy Loffredo faces Israeli court after reporting Iranian missiles striking several Israeli air bases. UN peacekeepers in Lebanon say Israel has fired on their bases deliberately, and 65 American medical professionals who spent time in Gaza say they saw evidence of children executed every single day. Floridians went to extremes to ride out Hurricane Milton. What happened to the strapped down house? What happened to Lieutenant Dan? What about the guy who wrapped his car? Find out tonight.

    How to help Jeremy:

After last week's tour-de-force, this may have put a leash on things:

Quote Tehran has threatened through secret diplomatic channels to strike US allies in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East if their territories or airspace are used to attack Iran, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing Arab officials.
Tehran has sent corresponding warnings to Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the report said on Thursday. The authorities of these states have reportedly informed the administration of US President Joe Biden that they do not want to provide their military infrastructure or airspace to the United States and Israel for any aggressive actions against Iran.

Last week, the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said that "in the event of direct intervention by countries supporting Israel, including the United States, and its aggression against Iran, their bases and interests in the Middle East will simultaneously face a powerful attack."

Useless or burn, useless or burn...you've been told once nicely by the hosts.

Is that a reason not to support the civilian genocide thing so strongly?

    Maybe.

But at least so far we are witnessing the total strategic defeat of these bases.

In addition, there are those who do not want a bomb on the oil competitor:

Quote Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Qatar, will not allow Israel to use their airspace for any aggression against Iran and have informed the US of this decision.

"The Persian Gulf states aren't letting Israel use their airspace. They won't allow Israeli missiles to pass through, and there's also a hope that they won't strike the oil facilities," Reuters reported Thursday.

Citing three sources, the Thursday report said the three aforementioned states are concerned that Iran or resistance groups in the region could target their oil production facilities in retaliation for a potential Israeli strike.

The report comes as the Israeli regime has threatened to attack Iran while Tehran has warned that any assault will provoke an even stronger response.

On October 1, Iran carried out a massive missile attack against Israel, dubbed Operation True Promise II, in legitimate response to Israel’s barbaric acts of assassination against the resistance front’s top leaders.

During the operation, Iran launched some 200 high-speed ballistic missiles at the Zionist entity’s military and intelligence bases, saying 90 percent of them hit their targets.

"The Iranians have stated: 'If the Persian Gulf states open up their airspace to Israel, that would be an act of war'," Ali Shihabi, a Saudi analyst close to the Saudi royal court, told Reuters.

The report said the Persian Gulf countries are currently lobbying Washington to stop Israel from attacking Iran's oil sites.

Saudi Arabia, as a leading oil exporter along with oil-producing neighbors - the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain - has a keen interest in de-escalating the situation, it added.

"We will be in the middle of a missile war. There is serious concern, especially if the Israeli strike targets Iran's oil installations," one of the sources said.

    Text:
According to a report by The Guardian, a U.S.-made munition was used in an Israeli air strike on a highly densely populated area in Beirut on Thursday, which killed at least 22 people.

The newspaper identified discovered remnants of a U.S.-manufactured Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) among the debris of a building that had been reduced to rubble. The report explained, "JDAMS are guidance kits built by the U.S. aerospace company Boeing that attach to large ‘dumb bombs’ ranging up to 2,000lbs, converting them into GPS-guided bombs."

Richard Weir, a senior researcher with Human Rights Watch’s conflict and arms division and a former U.S. military bomb technician, confirmed the identification of the weapons remnant. "The bolt pattern, its position, and the shape of the remnant are consistent with the tail fin of a U.S.-made JDAM guidance kit for Mk80 series air-dropped munitions," Weir said in the report.

    https://thegrayzone.com/2024/10/11/i...remy-loffredo/

Israel jails Grayzone’s Jeremy Loffredo, releases him pending investigation

The criminal case against the American reporter fell apart after an Israeli journalist testified that his own article containing Loffredo’s full video report had cleared military censorship. Yet Israel refuses to let Loffredo leave the country.

On October 11, journalist Jeremy Loffredo was ordered released from Israeli jail.

Israeli soldiers arrested the Jewish-American reporter and three other journalists at a checkpoint in the West Bank on October 8. According to one of the jailed reporters, @the_andrey_x, the soldiers blindfolded them tightly, roughed them up, drawing guns on them at one point, and hauled them off to detention in Jerusalem.

“The soldiers… illegally requested that the journalists hand in their phones, and when they refused, the soldiers pointed a gun at one of the journalists, hit him with their hands and the barrel of a gun, then dragged him out of the car and slammed him onto the concrete. When lying on the ground, they pointed 2 guns at his head. The rest of the journalists exited the car and the military raided it, confiscating phones, cameras, and personal items,” said @the_andrey_x.

Andrey recalled that in the course of abusing the journalists, “The soldiers told the female Israeli photographer that she should have been raped by Hamas.”

While Loffredo’s colleagues were released after 11 hours, the “Judea and Samaria” division of the Israeli police opened an investigation into Loffredo for supposedly “aiding the enemy in a time of war.”

The Israeli police’s accusation related to Loffredo’s video report for The Grayzone covering the aftermath of Iranian missile strikes aimed at Israeli military installations. According to the police, Jeremy had revealed “the locations of missile drops near or inside sensitive security facilities, with the aim of bringing this to the notice of the enemy, and thereby assisting them in their future attacks.”

Watch Jeremy Loffredo’s report, “On the ground investigating Iran’s strikes on Israel” here.

On October 9, an Israeli court declared it had “reasonable suspicion” to extend the journalist’s imprisonment. At a hearing the next day, the police insisted to Magistrate’s Court Judge Zion Sahrai that Loffredo was not an actual journalist, but did not present any evidence that he was pursuing a hostile ulterior agenda.

A journalist from the Israeli publication YNet countered the allegation that Loffredo violated Israeli censorship laws by pointing out that the military censor approved his own article in which a tweet containing Loffredo’s full video report for The Grayzone was embedded.

Judge Sahrai ordered Loffredo’s release, stating that since Israeli military censors agreed to allow Ynet to publish both “word of [Jeremy’s] arrest and the publications that led to his arrest,” Israel could “no longer justify his continued detention.”

However, the police appealed Sahrai’s decision, protesting that the censor only approved the YNet article retroactively, and would have never done so if it had been submitted in advance.

That police also complained that Loffredo had refused to unlock his phone for them, insisting they needed more time to crack the device. “We believe that we will find things on the phone and we will be able to link him [to the alleged crime],” a police representative stated.

That argument did not hold water with Jerusalem District Court Judge Hana Miriam Lomp, however. “The Court of First Instance did not err when it ordered the release of the respondent,” Judge Lomp stated during the October 11 appeal. “From the detailed investigative actions there is no fear of disruption [from Jeremy], and in light of the reasons stated above, the cause of the danger is also not clear.”

Though Lomp ordered the journalist be released, she gave police until October 20 to continue their digital strip search. Until then, Loffredo will remain without his passport and will not be permitted to return home to his family in the US.

Just what Israeli officials hope to uncover in their search of Loffredo’s cell phone remains a mystery. Also unclear is why the investigation focuses exclusively on Loffredo, and not on any of the numerous other reporters who reported the locations of the Iranian strikes.

After Iran launched several hundred ballistic missiles at Israeli military targets on October 1, several international journalists broadcast reports from the scene of blasts, including ABC News’ Matt Gutman and PBS Newshour’s Nick Schifrin.

The Grayzone published a statement on October 10 unequivocally rejecting the Israeli police’s outrageous accusations against Loffredo. We repeat that we stand by Jeremy’s report. The claim that Loffredo and The Grayzone represent Israel’s enemy in wartime merely suggests that the Israeli government views the American people and free press as a legitimate target. Indeed, we are an independent outlet with no relationship, financial or otherwise, with any foreign country or political organization.

As we fight the fraudulent charges against Jeremy, we ask readers to contact the US State Department and urge them to act in his defense. The US has an obligation to defend its journalists without political prejudice, particularly when they are fulfilling the vital task of providing the public with facts on the ground.

Lebanese drones cross longest distance yet, hit Herzliya in Tel Aviv
Israeli authorities confirmed that two drones launched from Lebanon penetrated Israeli airspace and struck a building in Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv, on Friday evening.

The strike resulted in damage to the building and caused a widespread power outage across the city, according to Israeli media reports.

Sirens sounded throughout Herzliya, which is 100km south of Lebanon, as the drones breached Israeli air defenses, causing panic among settlers. Israeli media reported that the incident marked the longest distance a drone has traveled from Lebanon to occupied Palestinian territory to date.

Initially, Israeli media outlets appeared confused, with conflicting reports suggesting the drone might have originated from Iraq or Yemen. However, the Israeli occupation military eventually confirmed that the drones were launched from Lebanon.

In response to the incident, the spokesperson for the Herzliya municipality urged settlers to remain near shelters as a precaution. Meanwhile, the Israeli Fire and Rescue Authority reported multiple incidents at the Herzliya power station.

Explosions were also heard in parts of Tel Aviv, while Herzliya was plunged into total darkness following the drone strike.

20 Israeli soldiers injured within 24 hours on border with Lebanon

Israeli media reported Thursday that 22 Israeli soldiers were injured in 24 hours, 20 of them on the Lebanese border and two in the Gaza Strip.

The Ziv Medical Center in occupied Safad confirmed that it had received seven injured soldiers from battles with Hezbollah at the northern border with Lebanon.

Israeli media mentioned that four injuries were reported following the shelling that targeted the Karmiel area in Central al-Jalil, while an Israeli helicopter was directly hit in the Mays al-Jabal area while attempting to evacuate injuries, forcing Israeli ambulances to flee the scene of the incident.

Early Thursday morning, the Israeli occupation military admitted to the killing of one of its soldiers and the injury of another in ongoing battles at the Lebanese border.

The military announced that the soldier was from the 228th Brigade and that another soldier from the 5030th Battalion was seriously wounded in the same incident and was transferred to the hospital.

This brings the Israeli military's acknowledged death toll to 12 soldiers since the start of its announced ground incursion in southern Lebanon, although the Islamic Resistance's Operations Room confirmed that the occupation forces have suffered at least 35 fatalities and 200 injuries, including elite officers and soldiers.

Remember a few days ago, Mr. Whizzo said don't blow this up:

The Biden administration issued sweeping sanctions Friday targeting Iranian oil exports after vowing to impose consequences over Tehran’s massive missile attack on 'Israel.'

The new sanctions target 16 entities and 23 oil tankers. They seem to be futile as they have proven so far. Iran currently exports over 1.7 m bpd despite all US attempts to choke off its oil revenues.

    While back east:

Quote The Iranian president said after meeting with his Russian counterpart that he had asked Vladimir Putin to have more serious reaction to the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza and Lebanon.

Speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon in Tehran after his two-day visit to Turkmenistan, where he held several meetings with regional leaders, President Masoud Pezeshkian aid that held inclusive talks over gas, transportation electricity and border market agreements with his counterparts from neighboring countries.

The president said that economic working groups will be formed over the next month to finalize and sign the agreements.

He described the visit of key cultural and economic significance as he met with counterparts from four countries, including Turkmenistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan.

Pezeshkian said that in his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, they discussed different energy, railroad, and petrochemical projects.

He noted that during the meeting with the President of Russia, they also discussed regional issues, adding that he had asked Russia to act more effectively in relation to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon.

President Pezeshkian continued to highlight that enhanced ties with neighboring countries will reduce the impact of oppressive sanctions imposed by US and European countries under different accuses.

It sounds like Washington is completely toothless here, aside from the JDAMS where they can smugly say "he did it". And who knows how many other kinds of things that go bang in a bad way, plus free spy services. Unfortunately Zion or Nakba has not been de-fanged yet. I would say the Ukrainian principles apply here, it should be de-nazified and de-militarized, with the understanding a certain amount of territory will be hewn from it in the process. Nothing much else is feasible. If Greater Israel is a popped bubble, and we, or I, at least, am not talking about the elimination of all Israeli citizens by any means. Of the temporary legal entity, yes, definitely.

    Hello, dear Lightworkers!
It is clear that we are living in the times of the Apocalypse.
The war in the Middle East is going to eventually trigger World War III.
Jesus Christ will soon return to Earth!!!

Awaken now, the great Dragon that had been sleeping in the Argentum Mountains! Aurora, Miz Tli Tlan, and Erks are already shining with a Light that has not been seen in years. The self-summoned celebrate within, the Pleiadians dance under the starlight, the Hyperborean initiates sharpen their Wotan swords, and the Elder Brothers laugh heartily from the radiant crowns of the Sun. Elohei Kedem watches from the Central Sun and says: “Yes, the beginning of the end has started. I take pleasure in you, Only Begotten Son, your sword is ready. The Day of Dread has arrived for the demonic creatures that oppressed humanity. Semihazah writhes in the depths of his cave, the demons weep, and the human vampires of Shaytan wander desolate through their forsaken palaces. The Second Coming is here.”
The Day of Dread has arrived! The Day of Dread has arrived! The Day of Dread has arrived!
Maran atha! Maran atha! Maran atha! Maran atha! Maran atha! Maran atha! Maran atha!
CHRIST IS COMING!!! CHRIST IS COMING!!! CHRIST IS COMING!!!

"Because of this, all hands shall become weak, and every heart of man shall melt."
"They shall be troubled, and dizziness and pains as of childbirth shall seize them; they shall be astonished, man with his fellow man, and their faces will be like flames."

Remember a few years back when I asked if anyone had heard of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, they hadn't. Where have you been? This is a long forerunner of Versailles. Here it is about to be visited by the Iranian Speaker:

Ghalibaf went on to say that "From here I am going to Geneva to participate in the meeting of the Presidents of the Assembly of States (Inter-Parliamentary Union-IPU). I will definitely convey the message of the oppressed people of Lebanon and Palestine to all the speakers of the parliaments of the countries."

"In the meeting with Mr. Mikati, I declared that the nation and the government of Iran are ready to transfer facilities through an air corridor as soon as possible to help the injured, displaced and war-hit people of Lebanon under the supervision of the government of their country," the speaker added.

It's not the United Nations. It means he will be directly dealing with the parliaments of 179 other countries. There are no intermediates, cabinets, committees, councils, just a getting-together of the actual national legislators. Now, of course, it may sound a little edgy from its own site:

    IPU 1889

    or:

Quote The organisation's initial objective was the arbitration of conflicts. The IPU played an important part in setting up the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague. Over time, its mission has evolved towards the promotion of democracy and inter-parliamentary dialogue. The IPU has worked for establishment of institutions at the inter-governmental level, including the United Nations, an organization with which it cooperates and with which it has permanent observer status.

The organization was established in 1889 as the Inter-Parliamentary Conference. Its founders were statesmen Frédéric Passy of France and William Randal Cremer of the United Kingdom, who sought to create the first permanent forum for political multilateral negotiations.

You'll quickly find a greenish attitude towards carbon, which can simply be brought in by the Europeans I suppose, but here you simply track your elected representative and hold them accountable. Reciprocally, it may mean someone will take Iranian ideas to their home countries. Of course, the ideas of rescues will probably be received a lot better than anything about force. Tribunals and prosecutions of Zionists? I'm not sure. Again as far as I know this Union merely has the ability to facilitate communication, without any kind of enforcement other than the influence of the members.

So far we are probably watching the discovery of impotence:

Quote To shed light on Israeli regime's delay in response to Iran's retaliatory missile attack dubbed True Promise II, a political commentator has told local Iranian media that the Tel Aviv regime is afraid of Iran's missile capabilities, and is only waging a psychological warfare against Tehran.

In an interview with local Iranian news website Entekhab, Seyyed Hadi Borhani, a professor of Israeli Studies, said, "The most important feature and characteristic of the current circumstances is Israel's psychological warfare against Iran. It is quite clear that a centralized psychological warfare room in Israel is running this warfare. This room produces news and disinformation on a daily basis. The purpose of all this disinformation and news is to maintain or increase the pressure on Iran. This way, Israel wants to increase the cost of Iran's missile attack on it. It wants to use psychological warfare to turn the threat of Israel's response and attack into an important and influential factor in Iran's situation."

"Israeli regime wants to create an atmosphere where everyone is worried about the imminent and horrific Israeli attack," Borhani said, adding that the main purpose of these threats is to tell Iranians that their country does not have a normal situation both inside and outside.

The Israelis seek to tell Iran that because it is in abnormal situation it has to pay a price under pressure, he said.

Israeli regime also has plans to carry out military operations, but I think the main part of Israel's operation against Iran is psychological, and maybe a small part of it is militarily and operationally. The possibility of an effective military operation is not too high.

"First of all, the fact that Israel has not attacked back yet shows that it faces limits and difficulty in carrying out such an attack," added Borhani.

"Secondly, in my opinion, Iran's recent missile attack were effective and interrupted Israel's calculations. Iran's capability to hit a highly protected military site with about 34 missiles very terrifying and horrific to Israel. This means that Iran can target each site in Israel from the Mossad building to the nuclear and economic centers to the political centers in Israel," the commentator said.

"If Israel realizes that Iran has such a capability and its is durable, it will think twice before taking any action against Iran," Borhani said.

"Therefore, until Israel can not solve this fundamental problem (Iran's pinpointing missile)... it will not carry out a serious and effective attack against Iran," he added.

Very interesting analysis by Scott Ritter about Iran's nuclear capacity, Israel's calculations, Trump's call to bomb Iran's nuclear sites, when does Russia get involved, etc. We're terribly close to the launching of nuclear attacks.

"Fmr Marine Corps Intelligence Officer and UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter gives a DEVASTATING warning to Israel as Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant promise an imminent strike on Iran. This video breaks down the escalating threat to all out war between Iran and Israel, with Scott Ritter offering expertise on its consequences (HINT: It's BAD for Israel)."

UN Peacekeepers Refuse to Abandon Positions in Southern Lebanon Despite Israeli Requests

UNIFIL reported on Thursday that their main headquarters and positions had been shelled by Israeli forces. On Friday, two peacekeepers were wounded after further shelling by the Israeli army on their positions in the town of Naqoura.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has refused to leave its positions in southern Lebanon despite demands by the Israeli army.
UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti said Israeli forces asked them "to withdraw from the positions up to five kilometres from the Blue Line." But a unanimous decision was made for peacekeepers to stay, as the UN flag must continue to fly in this area.
He added that due to the ongoing fighting in southern Lebanon, UNIFIL's positions have sustained significant damage, even within their bases.
Tenenti warned that the escalation between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah could soon evolve into a regional conflict with catastrophic consequences for all. The UNIFIL spokesman called for a diplomatic resolution.

I had never heard of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Grateful for your sleuth’s work. The Iranian speaker has an interesting name, Carpetweaver. Nor for nothing Iranian, or Persian, culture has created the “Persian carpet” – which of course is not just a carpet but wall tapestry as well. Persian carpets are symbolical, even mystical, creations (akin to Orthodox icons or “our” Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque paintings) which attempt at encompassing all aspects and qualities of creation.

Their symbolic nature is at the core of Iranian (i.e. “Persian Arian”) civilisation. “Nothing is forgotten.” “Everything is subsumed”. “God and One are One.”

Hence, as you have written, the Anointed One, the Mashíah,was king Cyrus (Kurósh), the Persian king who released the Jews and let them return.

It is Persian culture which has the necessary prerequisites for playing a universal role. It is in Iran that Judaism as a religion is honoured the way Zoroastrianism is – because Twelver Shia Islam in Iran is understood as the “Persian carpet” who brings all cultures and civilisations together in harmony.

Hence, and that was the real meaning of President Ahmadinezhâd’s phrase of “mahv shavad” (“to be erased”), the “Zionist entity” (or as I have begun to say: the Zionist Antisemites), needs to disappear as a political entity in order to allow Jews to live their religion in freedom.

For some time now, I have started to think that it is Iran who will bring about this transformation of Palestine into a multicultural state (Khaddafi’s “Isratina” (!), for which idea he was murdered) – and given the strong presence of Shia Islam in Lebanon (let us not forget that the Druzes’ religion is also a (particular, secretive) form of Shiaism), the merger into a larger state of which the cultural capital would be Beyrouth and the religious capital Jerusalem/Al Quds.. taking an example from South Africa for instance (who has been so busy helping the birthing of such a future).

“Delusioned“ by the support of American “Zionist idiots” the remaining Israelis who have not yet become psychotic murderers might in the end understand that they will only be rescued by Iranian (and Russian!) broadness of inspiration and welcome their “soft invasion” ——— after, alas, the death of many hundred thousands..

An impossible dream, maybe, leaving only the many millions option.

    ***

This is one of the artistic visions living in Iran: Mahmûd Farshchian (his name also means Carperweaver).
