I don't know whether he will be able to pull out of NATO in the short term, but maybe can make it implode if congress isn't on board.

But im becoming more confident that they are planning a North American Union and it will happen eventually. We can no longer be using our military to police the whole world. They will be pulled back and police the NA Union. Gotta attack the cartels since they are controlling the mexican leaders. Help free them of the cartels and install a new leader if needed who wants the NA union.

Overthrow Trudeau (which is basically complete), the woke left to get in someone not aligned with Woke Europe. Not sure if Pierre would be down. USA will be the enforcer and high end tech and research driver as well as rich in resources. Canada will contribute a lot of resource manufacturing to send to USA for high tech manufacturing and Mexico as the new china low tech manufacturing.

This way they can secure all of NA. Oceans on 2 sides, Frozen tundra defending the north border, and a small border to defend south of mexico. Heck maybe they can get everyone down to panama on board and then the border is tiny.

Let Europe and Asia fight all their ancient never ending battles until they evolve out of it. But no chance in beating a NA Union on home turf in defense mode.

NA will be mostly self sufficient with 410 million population and slowly growing pulling in all the rich and smart people. brain drain. UK, Japan and Aussie will most likely be in too. Another 210 million people. A good number to oppose china domination, especially if India and/or Russia is supportive or joins.

It makes a lot of sense if the two factions are:
    1. Destroy America and out of the ashes rebuild anew with the 4th industrial revolution (Europe bankers and oligrachs, china, etc. left)
    2. Make a strong America to ride thru the 4th industrial rev. (Trump who lived his whole long great rich life in America likely wants this, etc.)

As if Americans choosing #2 are radical nuts wanting to nuke Canada or any other insanity. What was previously in power was pretty evil. Imagine wanting fake wars for profit. how extreme is that? Imagine believing that opposing warmonger human traffickers would look soft, kind, and sweet. smh.

    Extreme Right:

Ultra-nationalism - subjective but yea thats kinda needed now after decades of selling out our country from within as the founders predicted
White supremacy - Not the case, just look back in history to see what real racial supremacy movements did.
Neo-Nazism - Nazi/fascism made real hardcore moves to shut down opposition, so obviously isn't the case now. Most rights were non-existent
    Neo-fascism - See above
    Authoritarianism - See above
Nativism - Pretty much the whole world does this.
Xenophobia - This is a degree thing as all cultures have a bit of this. Japan and asia being FAR more extreme
Anti-immigration - Nothing burger here. Welcoming in smart and productive people who are vetted as well as some asylum seekers, etc.
Racial purity - LMAO , 0 chance in this, FAR too late in the game.
Anti-Semitism - The right isnt pushing to harm normal Jews. They may be anti cabal semitic or however u say it.
Anti-multiculturalism - Lol, go yell at asia and elsewhere for being extreme right for this.
Anti-government extremism - Not sure i understand this one. Isn't this good?
Chauvinism - Kinda need to be a bit extreme towards one's own cause since we were being sold out hard for decades. This is subjective
    Theocracy - outdated
Reactionary conservatism -"opposes policies for the social transformation of society". Duh, we oppose the insane changes that were underway. But actually are now doing by far the most interesting changes.
Organicism - Organicism is the philosophical position that states that the universe and its various parts ought to be considered alive and naturally ordered, much like a living organism. (Kant?). Not sure how right wing extremists abuse this.
Ethnocentrism - Yawn....more like Nationalcentrism. Like every other nation has been doing except the accepting West
Populism (radical) - Yep, the elites have been radically disregarding our concerns for a long time.
Anti-democracy - the opposite of this. We want voter IDs and to secure fair elections and destroy NGO's and lobbyists corrupting democracy.
Hate-oriented ideology - There was far more hate when right wing attended left rallies vs left wing blacks being welcomed to right rallies.

I suppose the list may be longer but thats the Extreme Right terms AI listed for me.

Hey Flash, I've felt the way you are feeling now several times, and have gone on sabbatical a few times. It was usually over one particular issue (or another) that was bugging me. But I came back because there is still so much good information being shared on the forum, despite the imperfections.
I once tried to "cancel my membership" only to find that members are generally only unsubscribed if they are no longer welcome for some infraction of the rules, and the best I could hope for was to be "Retired", which I also did for a while.
I think you can go back and erase all your posts if you really feel so moved (but I don't know if they can be put back if your feelings change).
Anyway, you will be missed if you do Retire, and I hope you will give the forum a good once over to see if there aren't things worth staying for, and give it some more thought first.
In any case, you can still un-retire if you do decide to take that step.
    Best wishes,
    Natalie

please don't go. imho we all need to hear opposite thoughts. it's a necessity in democracies to hear what people with different mindsets say. we now have an unfortunate trend of people retreating into their own political bubbles, which is ultimately not good for us all.
i'm from austria and i voted left in my youth, now i vote far right - not because i don't like the basic ideas of the left anymore, but because i think they are deeply wrong about uncontrolled immigration and they support censorship (they call it protection from fake news, but that's not whats happening in reality) and they have temporarily taken away my civil rights during the covid crisis. i'm very rarely active in this forum, but what i learned is that, here at project avalon, people are treated with politeness and can speak their mind even if it sounds a bit crazy what they are talking about - that's a great feature. nobody is forced to believe anything, but everybody can speak his mind and can be heard - that's great and that's unfortunately not longer taken for granted in other online places. society used to be much more open in former times.

Hi Flash. I don’t hope that you stay, when you say you want to part ways. I’ve read you enough, since your return, to know that your choices are informed by passion and powered by a deep resolve.

I do think that your stated reasons are wrong though. You can’t really believe that Trump would nuke Canada, that is just crazy talk. Same with singling out the American members as brainwashed. Heck, everybody here is a weirdo, from Bill on down.

I made friends last year with a man who quit PA, quit low-key and permanently. We emailed some, and talked a few times on the phone. I think he left because he was lonely at Avalon. I’ve felt loneliness here, when my occasional especially heartfelt posts have been ignored or misunderstood. I took it as a life lesson, decided to stop feeling sorry for myself, and began to select my engagements more carefully. I am less bothered by abrasive ideas or personalities, and am less moved by the gushy loviness common here. PA has become for me a kind of happy hunting ground, where I can find posts that make me happy, and where I can write words that make me happy.

    Anyways, peace Sis.

Why o why o why is it that common victimhood unifies us (people returned after years when the 2020-21 thing happened) but standing up resisting and fighting back splits us up again ?

At least, that's becoming the challenge to figure out and resolve. Isn't it ?

Life is like a pendulum, it swings far left, then far right but eventually comes back to center. The fentanyl issue here in the states is the number 1 killer in the age bracket for 19 thru 45 year olds, 1 American dies every 5 minutes in this bracket, my sis in law was on that list a few years ago, my friend who is a rspitory nurse of 40 years told me last month she has 1 patient a month she takes care of that come in and are brain dead from this drug, all they do is stare at the wall and get shipped to a nursing home .

In watching the address by Trump tonight I was stunned and embarrassed by the democrats sitting in that speech that refused to approve of anything Trump has suggested for the improvement of the American people. They just sat there with their phones looking down or raising their little ping pong paddles in opposition. It was disgusting, childish, immoral, and extremely disappointing of what they have become. And I'm an independent. But remember the pendulum and really it's all about the kids and us protecting them to pass the torch for a better society to manage. With over 300,000 children disappearing with this last administration in charge they failed miserably with that test.

well I think Trump's a bloody marvel, I really do...

all he's been through in the last 8 years - keeping his focus and yesterday delivering that long speech in the House - more or less word perfect with emotional balance -

I might even have popped over to Washington DC at the end... .... I went to sleep around 9 pm (UK time) then woke up in the night and thought I'd tune into the speech, live... it had already started and I watched till the end - - - as Trump was leaving and then the Democrat woman was starting her response I was getting tired and went into that drifting state -

Suddenly I was in a small, ordinary little side kitchen that I felt was somewhere near where the speech took place - standing in front of a sink looking for a spare mug to make tea - opening the cupboard underneath the sink, looking - but there were no cups or mugs they were all in use - a couple of people came over to help and were going to go off and find one for me but I smiled and said..... oh there's no need... I'm not really here - you'll never believe me but I'm in bed in England..... I sensed confusion and surprise and I woke up in my bed..... :-)

then drifted back to sleep again....

I remember 30 years ago an astute friend of mine talking about drugs (the illegal variety) and especially heroin - how it was flooding countries like Britain, America, and Europe... deliberately to weaken the morale + the younger generation... + general population - - they were right and fentanyl looks like a very serious example of this -

perhaps the Democrat Party have taken the DEI thing far too far rather than selection by merit... and now they are paying the price...?

The tribalism is at ridiculous levels and none of them would dare show support for anything Trump promotes or does...no matter how worthy...

IMO (if left + right still has any meaning) Trump carries the 'centre right' and the 'centre left' with him - and some of the far left and far right are toning down their beliefs to become more populist.... those who earn a wage for opposing him - whether that be as a Politician or Internet Influencer aren't going to budge ... until the funds dry up or they get kicked out... :/

Very interesting analysis by economist Jeffrey Sachs on the implications of Trump's tariffs, foreign policy, potential NATO exit.

The contempt and extreme hatred these Democrats displayed was beyond any kind of sane and humane behavior. It's beyond disgusting, it's demonic and evil.

The only one time they clapped was when Trump mentioned the US spending billions of dollars in support of the Ukraine war where death and carnage abounds.

The Democrats have really turned in to an insane hate and death cult in my opinion.

"In October 2024, Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos posted on Musk’s “X” platform an alluring statement: “The Network State for Mars is being formed before our eyes.” Musk enthusiastically replied, “The Mars Technocracy.” To which Bezos responded, “Count me in.”

As he continues to dream about colonising Mars, Musk has made it abundantly clear which political system he prefers. In 2019, he wrote: “Accelerating Starship development to build the Martian Technocracy.” Note his use of the word “accelerating.” For Musk “accelerating” doesn’t simply mean an increase in velocity.

Musk has long advocated Universal Basic Income. Here’s one instance of his embrace of UBI: At the World Government Summit in 2017, Musk said, “We will have to have some kind of universal basic income.” Another example: In June 2024, speaking with then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at the UK-convened first global “AI Safety Summit,” Musk painted a Utopian vision of an artificial intelligence-dominated society and “an age of abundance” before adding, “We won’t have universal basic income, we’ll have universal high income.” In other words, he was suggesting that the masses would have perfect “lives of abundance” enabled by the ultimate AI-controlled distribution of UBI."
    ---

In this most interesting of articles Iain Davis exhorts us to pay very careful attention to what is truly and incrementally (in fact now accelerating) being introduced via D.O.G.E and some of the influential billionaire figures now driving some of this new administration's policies.
"To appreciate why people like Musk and Bezos are so enthused by the prospect of Technocracy, we must understand the full extent of Technocracy. We must grasp not just what it is superficially portrayed to be, but also recognize its deep, dark, humanity-mutating, society-altering intentions and aims.

Technocracy does not merely call for technocratic governance—that is, a sociopolitical system where qualified experts, or “technocrats,” rather than politicians, set policy."

What does the title of this article—not to mention each unusual word in it — even mean? This is not a rhetorical question. We urgently need to understand each term. A precise political philosophy underpins each. A combination of these interrelated philosophies has been embraced — either in part or in their entirety — by some of the most powerful people on the planet. If we misapprehend how these controllers and influencers think, we risk blindly accepting whatever world order they wish to impose — and end up wondering how and why we find ourselves subjected to it.

    What a hilarious blunder.

The term "Freudian slip" was invented for this.

Just finished listening the interview with Ralf Nader... I always liked Nader... he was always for the people...
Yes... I guess... rich people, oligarchs and technocrats getting what they want... for sure at the expense of everyone else... and that is worth applauding if you happen to be rich... isn't it?????????

"A Declaration of War Against the American People": Ralph Nader on Trump's Address to Congress

President Donald Trump delivered the longest presidential address to a joint session of Congress in modern history Tuesday night, laying out his vision for the next four years as he defended his many executive actions to dismantle large portions of the federal government.
For an hour and 40 minutes, Trump repeatedly lied and exaggerated his accomplishments and his opponents' failures, deploying racist and dehumanizing language to describe immigrants, LGBTQ people and his critics.
Trump heaped praise on billionaire Elon Musk and his efforts to slash entire government agencies.
The speech was "a declaration of war against the American people, including Trump voters, in favor of the super-rich and the giant corporations," says Ralph Nader, longtime consumer advocate, corporate critic and former presidential candidate.

This is also interesting... very interesting!!!!

Fact-Check: Juan González on Trump's "Outrageous" Lies About Panama Canal

We speak with the acclaimed science fiction author, activist and journalist Cory Doctorow, who has spent decades writing and thinking about the impact of technology on our lives.

He coined the term "en****tification" to describe how online platforms degrade the user experience over time in search of profits, though it has been widely adopted to describe a larger sense of decline and decay across society. He discusses his new book "Picks and Shovels", Silicon Valley's big bet on artificial intelligence to discipline its workers, and billionaire Elon Musk's work in the Trump administration.

"The point of this chaotic blitz is to demoralize their opponents," Doctorow says of Musk's work through DOGE, which has gutted government agencies and wide swaths of the federal workforce. "In the reality-based world, even if you are worried about government waste, even if you want to make government smaller, you have to acknowledge the empirical fact that payroll accounts for 4% of the federal budget."

Fun and games……someone’s pulling his strings.

    BREAKING:

🇺🇦🇺🇲🇷🇺 Zelensky has played Trump once again and announced that he would not negotiate with Russia

After Zelensky announced yesterday that he was ready to negotiate with Russia, he has changed his mind again today.

Zelensky does not want to discuss anything with Russians and make any concessions.

He apologizes to Trump, but has not changed his opinion nor approach.

I watched the whole thing — the first time I've ever done so.

I was surprised to be impressed, while the behavior of the attending Democrats in several instances almost lacked any humanity. This has been viewed and commented on by so many now that it's hard to see how they might recover from this.

Of interest, and showing that these damaged people are well in the minority, here are the results from 3 YouGov polls, published (astonishingly) by CBS.
