    The Russian draft memorandum that was handed over to the Ukrainian delegation today has been published.

    Russian demands for ending the war:

    Ukraine must:

    - legally recognize Crimea, DPR, LPR, Zapo and Kherson as Russian territory;
    - observe complete military neutrality, not join any blocs;
    - downsize the Ukrainian military, with limits both on personnel and weaponry;
    - disband nationalist military and paramilitary units;
    - give the Russian language official status and protect the “rights, liberties and interests” of the Russian population;
    - outlaw all Nazi organizations;
    - lift all restrictions on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church
    - lift all mutual sanctions

    Russian demands for an immediate ceasefire:

    Ukraine must:

    - begin withdrawing its forces from Russian territory
    - stop mobilization efforts and begin demobilization
    - stop ALL foreign military aid
    - remove all third country military personnel from its territory
    - end martial law
    - schedule parliamentary and presidential elections no later than 100 days after the end of martial law

    ❗️The main provisions of the Russian memorandum on the Ukrainian settlement:

    ▪️Two options for a ceasefire have been proposed.

    ▪️The first one assumes the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Russian territories occupied by Ukraine in the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

    ▪️The second (package proposal) contains clauses on the prohibition of troop redeployment, the cessation of mobilization and the supply of foreign military aid to Kyiv, the beginning of demobilization, and the exclusion of the military presence of third countries.

    ▪️The document stipulates Ukraine’s neutrality and its refusal to join military alliances.

    ▪️There is a clause prohibiting military activity by other states in Ukraine.

    ▪️Nuclear-free status of Ukraine, establishment of maximum number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

    ▪️Lifting economic sanctions imposed against Russia.

    ▪️International legal recognition of the entry of Crimea, LPR, DPR, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions into Russia.

    ▪️Mutual waiver of claims for damage from military operations.

    ▪️Ensuring the rights and freedoms of the Russian-speaking population, lifting restrictions on the activities of the UOC, banning the glorification of Nazism.

    The United States is withdrawing military personnel and equipment from the Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport in southeastern Poland—formerly the main logistics hub for arming Ukraine—according to a statement from U.S. European and African Command.

    American forces had been operating out of the Jasionka airport since the start of the conflict in Ukraine, managing shipments of weapons and supplies into Ukraine. That role is now being handed over to Poland and NATO.

    Via DD Geopolitics on Telegram, and I hadn't remembered the (so-called) "compensation" scheme. This is a good observation although, very sadly, my hunch is that the Ukrainian regime will accept the bodies, but then proceed to plunder them for organs for trafficking and any one of the other sick and twisted things that entity is engaged in. Sorry, perhaps that overly cynical, but there seems no end to their depravity. Anyway....
    Russia just stuck Ukraine with a 103.6 billion hryvnia ($2.5 billion) bill

    That’s what Kiev now owes to the families of 6,000 dead soldiers—assuming all the bodies are identifiable.

    Under Ukrainian law, each family is entitled to up to 17.27 million hryvnias, or about $422,800.

    Multiply that by 6,000 and the total hits 103.6 billion hryvnias, or $2.5 billion USD.

    ℹ️As of June 2025, the Ukrainian government provides a one-time financial compensation to the families of military personnel who have died in the line of duty. The standard compensation amount is 15 million Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH), which is approximately $367,200 USD at current exchange rates.

    Additionally, there is a separate provision for a one-time cash benefit calculated as 750 times the subsistence minimum for able-bodied individuals, which, as of January 1, 2024, is 3,028 UAH. This results in a payment of approximately 2,271,000 UAH (around $55,600 USD)
    Maybe they will pay out but my instincts tell me they won't: pity those poor families

    I've not heard this mentioned anywhere else yet. As the TU-95s are no longer made, I'd expect that any that were damaged beyond repair will be replaced 1:1 by the same number of much more modern supersonic TU-160s.

    A little cost, but a pinprick to Russia's economy, and zero damage to Russia's Air Force once the new planes have been delivered.

    Edit to add:

    Alexander Mercouris has been discussing the Russian strategic bomber fleet in his video update for today, starting at about 25:50. He reported that the Russians have 50 (fifty) TU-160s in line to be built, as the TU-95s (which first flew way back in 1952) really do need replacing now, as useful, practical and reliable as they have been for so many decades.

    ‼️🇹🇷🇷🇺🇺🇦 Interesting statement from Medinsky regarding the supposed "exchange" of fallen soldiers — which #Ukraine claimed had been agreed.

    In reality, no exchange was negotiated. Instead, the #Russian side unilaterally offered to return the bodies of some fallen Ukrainian soldiers, most of whom have already been identified.

    What adds another layer to this is that, under this offer, the #Zelenskyy regime will now have to pay compensation to the families of these soldiers.

    Noticing an obstacle that had suddenly appeared on the track, he immediately applied emergency braking, ordered his assistant to leave the cabin and take shelter in the engine room. The measures that Pavel managed to take, sacrificing himself, allowed the train to slow down by the time of the collision, thereby saving hundreds of passengers' lives.

    ✍️ The plan to support the employment of SVO participants has been approved by the Russian government. Veterans will be helped not only to find work, but also to improve their skills and competence, as well as to obtain a new profession, Mikhail Mishustin said.

    "Together with the Fatherland Defenders Foundation, we must deal with this proactively. In full and in the shortest possible time, resolve any issues that people may face," the Prime Minister added.

    The goal of the plan is to cover every returning soldier with state support measures for employment, depending on his life situation and needs.

    📍As Tatyana Golikova noted, 57% of demobilized military personnel are employed, 80% of them work under an employment contract.
