Accoridng to local Yemeni Al-Masirah TV, Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, reported two successful operations deep within Saudi territory.

He stated: "By the grace of God, our armed forces managed to target two military transport aircraft using two ballistic missiles—one at Najran Airport and the other at the King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait. Both operations were successful, thanks to God."

Earlier, Yahya Saree had also announced that, with the help of God Almighty, the Yemeni Armed Forces successfully targeted the Ras Tanura refinery in the Eastern Province with a ballistic missile. He noted that the strike was precise and caused a massive fire at the impact site.

Jordan carried out airstrikes on what it described as terrorist sites in neighboring Syria on Monday, following a deadly attack on a Christian church last week. The Syrian government condemned the operation.

According to the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF), fighter jets targeted “hideouts of terrorist organizations in southern Syria.” It added that “several terrorists” were killed or wounded and unspecified equipment was destroyed.

Although the RJAF claimed it acted in coordination with the Syrian authorities, the government in Damascus denied that it received advance notice of the strikes. The Syrian Foreign Ministry said it informed Jordan of its “objections to operations on Syrian territory without prior coordination.”

Khaled al-Omeian, the director of health in Syria’s Daraa province, told SANA that seven civilians, including three children, were killed in the strikes and three others were injured.

Jordan and Syria share a long border plagued by arms and drug smuggling, particularly the trafficking of Captagon. Jordan has repeatedly carried out airstrikes in southern Syria against suspected smuggling networks and militant groups, raising tensions with Damascus over violations of Syrian sovereignty.

No particular group has been accused; Jordan's targeting is self-determined.

Although their meeting was cordial, the Mecca Defence Alliance appeared to have obtained no concession from Iran. On the contrary, their trip to Iran suggested that their position is weak and that Tehran has emerged as the new centre of power in West Asia.

Meanwhile, Ansar Allah reports that it struck numerous targets in Saudi again, including the all-important East-West pipeline.

Captagon was first manufactured in 1961 as an alternative to amphetamine and methamphetamine used at the time to treat narcolepsy, fatigue, and the behavioral disorder "minimal brain dysfunction". Dexamphetamine was already being used by the military to enable soldiers to stay awake for long periods of time and to "enhance courage and bravado". Captagon was supposed to be a milder version of these medicines. But by the 1980's the U.S. government declared it a controlled substance with no currently accepted medical use. Manufacturing of the drug ceased in the 1980's.

However, illegal manufacture has continued, and has recently escalated in the past few years in Europe and the Middle East. Some sources suggest Captagon is one of the more popular recreational drugs among affluent youth in the Middle East.

No doubt the "Captagon" used by ISIS or ISI, and other extremist groups, to enhance their soldiers abilities today is far removed from the Captagon of the eighties. Instead of just two main ingredients, illegal manufacturing likely combines several highly addictive stimulants with compounding actions into one destructive little pill. This "new age" Captagon, as with any highly addictive substance, is likely to cause irreversible changes in brain circuitry that govern impulse control and judgement, taking away a person's ability to reason or think rationally.

Captagon has been touted by media as "The Amphetamine Fueling Syria's War" or "The Jihadists' Drug".

Yes, whatever it really is, has been a big player, from what I recall, ever since the early days of battles against the Ba'ath regime.

Moreover, the indicated trade routes are not new for this drug, they are the Bedouin routes that have been used for all drugs and slavery and smuggling of any kind, since...forever.

And so when we talk about wealthy and influential private citizens over there, these are certainly among them. There might be some other kind, but if so they are far less memorable.

Pretty similar to the Tuareg. They haul high-value merchandise through a desert.

While they will shoot anyone they want, I don't see why that would be an Orthodox funeral in Jordan; that sounds like the behavior of some small independent radical group. It's not an attack on Jordan; it's some kind of message to people. I don't remember the incident. The last thing we paid attention to was Syria attacking the Kurds around Kobane, and then, well, America caused a distraction.

Israel demolishes home of Lebanese journalist whose viral film exposed pager attack



The occupying Israeli army targeted a prominent Lebanese journalist when they pillaged and demolished his painstakingly-constructed family home located outside Israel’s so-called “buffer zone” in southern Lebanon. Was it retaliation for his widely-viewed documentary on Israel’s notorious pager attacks?

Israeli soldiers have looted and demolished the family home of Radwan Mortada, a prominent Lebanese investigative journalist who directed the recent viral Al Jazeera 360 documentary “The Trap.” The film exposes the surreptitious network and planning behind Israel’s notorious pager attack, which left hundreds of Lebanese citizens wounded and maimed, and has become one of the channel’s most-watched in recent history.

Israel’s destruction of Mortada family home on October 17 has drawn condemnation from at least one international press freedom group, the Committee to Protect Journalists. On October 21, the organization issued a statement declaring that it “strongly condemns the Israeli military’s demolition of journalist Radwan Mortada’s family home in southern Lebanon. Just three weeks earlier, Mortada released an Al Jazeera documentary on the Israeli 2024 pager attack. In the days leading up to the demolition, Israeli soldiers launched a sound bomb, a tank tore down the entrance, and soldiers looted personal belongings. CPJ fears this destruction is in retaliation for Mortada’s work, marking another dangerous violation of international law and disregard for the press.”

Speaking to The Grayzone, Mortada recalled how he learned that Israel’s military forces destroyed the estate he and his family had painstakingly constructed over almost a decade.

“⁠The story began on Friday, when someone sent me a photo of an Israeli Merkava tank parked right next to my house. A few days earlier, Israeli soldiers had arrived in a pickup truck and looted the contents of the house. And they destroyed the entrance” to the building as well, Mortada recounted.

“It never crossed my mind that they would plant explosives inside and blow it up, especially since my house is not in the Israeli-occupied area, there are no military positions nearby, and it is not a combat zone.”

Nevertheless, “at around 4 am on Saturday, they blew it up. I woke up to phone calls from neighbors in the village telling me, ‘The Israelis have blown up your house.’” Cell phone photos and footage confirmed the distressing news, he says.

“My village, Aita al-Jabal, is not under Israeli occupation, and my house is not within the so-called yellow line,” Mortada explains. There were no clashes or military activities in the area, he notes, and no military facilities or positions anywhere nearby. It is, he says, “a purely residential area.”

Wired for War: Israeli spy-tech firm targeted Starlink users – researchers -yesterday

Discover-Tech operated a surveillance and tracking network disguised as a commercial advertising business, according to Reuters

An Israeli online advertising company implicated in spyware attacks targeting internet users was heavily active on SpaceX’s Starlink service, Japanese researchers have found, bolstering claims that the firm was running a “targeting and tracking” operation masquerading as a commercial advertising business.

Earlier this month, Canadian cybersecurity watchdog Citizen Lab and New York-based ad security firm Confiant published extensive investigations identifying Discover-Tech, an Israeli advertising technology company, as a middleman helping spyware firms, including Candiru and Intelos, as well as a little-known US-linked operator known as Dark Cartographer, track internet users and potentially infect their devices without their knowledge.

Discover-Tech’s operation involved buying ad space on hundreds of thousands of websites and apps, using ads to gather information about the users that saw them, and selling this data to the spyware companies, who could then target specific users and install spyware on their devices via code concealed in Discover-Tech’s ads.

Despite presenting itself as a commercial operation, Discover-Tech concentrated much of its advertising spending on markets that would be of limited interest to conventional advertisers. Of 228 countries and territories examined, Palestine was the most heavily targeted, despite its population having severely limited access to Western goods and relatively little purchasing power.

In more than 100 countries, Discover-Tech was the leading bidder for advertising space targeting Starlink users, according to researchers at TrendAI, a unit of Japanese cybersecurity firm Trend Micro. The company was also the largest advertising bidder in Syria, Libya, Yemen, and South Sudan, and the second-largest in Afghanistan.

TrendAI published its findings on October 15, identifying the suspicious advertiser only by the codename Shadow-Earth-79. Six people familiar with the research subsequently told Reuters that the codename referred to Discover-Tech.

Noting that “the demand for legitimate Western advertising in sanctioned or active-conflict states is effectively zero,” the researchers concluded that the company was running “targeting and tracking infrastructure rather than a commercial advertising operation.”

The findings suggest that Discover-Tech may have been attempting to identify, geolocate, or monitor Starlink users. However, they do not establish that the company successfully infected Starlink users’ devices with spyware.

Founded in 2020 by Israeli entrepreneur Dekel Boni, Discover-Tech appointed Eric Banoun as its director. Banoun co-founded Circles, a surveillance company affiliated with Pegasus spyware developer NSO Group, and Senpai Technologies, a company known for developing and selling surveillance software to governments, including those of Angola, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Banoun also founded Intelos, which uses advertisements similar to those placed by Discover-Tech to surveil and geolocate individuals. He attempted to sell the technology to Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence agency, according to Haaretz.

Haaretz also identified Sara Hamou, through her holding company, as a shareholder in Discover-Tech. Hamou is a former manager at Intellexa, the company that marketed Predator spyware in Greece. Earlier this year, she was sentenced to eight years in prison for her role in the Predator scandal.

Over two dozen high-ranking generals and admirals have been dismissed or have quit since Hegseth was named war secretary

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth ousted Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was responsible for drafting military options for war against Iran, The Atlantic reported on 28 October.

Sylvia is the second officer dismissed from the Joint Staff’s top strategy and planning post this year, and he was removed without explanation, with no replacement named.

The general's removal marks at least the 26th dismissal of a general or admiral since Hegseth assumed office in January 2025, and comes as US President Donald Trump weighs renewed escalation against Iran once the US midterm elections conclude on 3 November.

“We may do another little Epic Fury,” Trump told supporters at a rally last week, referring to the name given to the US-Israeli joint assault on Iran launched in February, “Or they’ll agree.”

Washington has since warned its Gulf allies to expect a “short, intense” attack on Iran after the midterms, passing the message through diplomatic and military channels, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on 28 October, citing people briefed on the exchanges.

US Central Command (CENTCOM), which is directing the war, has drawn up options ranging from a brief wave of strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites to a prolonged campaign designed to push Iran’s economy toward collapse and force Tehran into negotiations.

Sylvia’s ouster is the latest in a sweeping campaign to purge the US military’s command structure of officers on the basis of political loyalty to Trump and his administration rather than merit.

Among those removed was Defense Intelligence Agency director Lieutenant General Jeffrey Kruse, who was fired after his agency reportedly assessed that the June 2025 US strikes had only delayed Iran’s nuclear program, contradicting Trump’s own claims of absolute success.

Others have reportedly been pushed out over past ties to diversity policies that Hegseth dismisses as “woke,” a label he has used to justify the cuts.

Senator Mark Kelly, a former Navy combat pilot, has called the firings a “purge” that will take the military years to recover from.
