    It's about the most impossible place on Earth to retrieve a downed jet or to find a sunken ship.....good location to "disappear" something and or "get rid of" evidence...
    even better for a place to not disappear it and keep the searches going for years, knowing nothing will be found...

    Quote A stunning new report prepared by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (GRU) circulating in the Kremlin today leaves no doubt as to why President Barack Obama warned this week that his greatest fear was not Russia, but rather a nuclear bomb being exploded in the heart of New York City, as it reveals that the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah [photo 2nd left], was a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) “asset” whose plane was carrying the “dirtiest bomb known to have ever been constructed.”

    According to this report, and as we had previously reported, Flight 370 was already under GRU “surveillance” after it received a “highly suspicious” cargo load that had been traced to the Indian Ocean nation Republic of Seychelles, and where it had previously been aboard the US-flagged container ship MV Maersk Alabama.

    What first aroused GRU suspicions regarding the MV Maersk Alabama was that within 24-hours of off-loading this “highly suspicious” cargo load bound for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, the two highly-trained US Navy Seals assigned to protect it, Mark Daniel Kennedy, 43, and Jeffrey Keith Reynolds, 44, were found dead under “suspicious circumstances.”

    Both Kennedy and Reynolds were employed by the Virginia Beach, Virginia-based maritime security firm The Trident Group which was founded by US Navy Special Operations Personnel (SEAL’s) and Senior US Naval Surface Warfare Officers and had long been known by the GRU to protect vital transfers of both atomic and biological materials throughout the world.

    The GRU, likewise, had reported that this “highly suspicious” cargo, after it was unloaded from the MV Maersk Alabama, on 17 February, was then transferred to Seychelles International Airport where it was loaded on an Emirates flight bound for Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Malaysia, after first stopping over in Dubai.

    Prior to Flight 370 entering the People Liberation Army (PLA) protected zones of the South China Sea known as the Spratly Islands after its 8 March departure from KLIA, the GRU had previously reported, it “significantly deviated” from its flight course and was tracked by VKO satellites and radar flying into the Indian Ocean region and completing its nearly 3,447 kilometer (2,142 miles) flight to the Diego Garcia atoll.

    Critical to note about Flight 370’s flight deviation, GRU experts said, was that it occurred during the same time period that all of the Spratly Island mobile phone communications operated by China Mobile were being jammed.

    As to why Flight 370 was diverted to Diego Garcia, the GRU reported it was initially “puzzled” about, that is until 16 March when it reported that top disease scientists from both the US and China were flown there, and on 21 March reported that the “highly suspicious” cargo aboard the plane had been transferred to the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico where it was then destroyed in a “massive explosion.”

    Important to note, this new GRU report says, is that Diego Garcia has long been a “prime target” for adversaries of the US due to its being the location from where the wars against Iraq and Afghanistan were directed, and its being the one of the CIA’s most feared “black sites” of torture and abuse of prisoners.

    Most “gravely concerning” about Flight 370, this new GRU report says, was that its Captain, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, was discovered to have in his home a flight simulator containing The Flight Termination System (FTS) which allows an aircraft to be remotely controlled, as well as landing instructions for Diego Garcia.

    The FTS, the GRU notes, is a fully redundant turn-key range safety and test system for remote control and flight termination of airborne test vehicles that consists of a Command Transmitter System (CTS) and custom control, interface, and monitoring subsystems. The system is fully programmable and is flexible enough to meet the changing requirements of today's modern test ranges, its manufacturer, System Planning Corporation (SPC) says.

    Critical to note about the FTS manufacturer SPC, this report says, is that it was once headed by the mysterious American “war hawk” Dov Zakheim who many still believe was one of the masterminds behind the 11 September 2011 attacks upon the US, and who in a 2000 position paper titled Rebuilding America's Defenses which called for “a New Pearl Harbor.”

    NOTE: In a document called “Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century” published by The American Enterprise’s “Project for a New American Century”(1), System Planning Corporation (SPC) International executive, Dov Zakheim, called for “some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor” being necessary to foster the frame of mind needed for the American public to support a war in the Middle East that would politically and culturally reshape the region. A respected and established voice in the intelligence community, his views were eagerly accepted, and Dov went from his position at Systems Planning Corporation to become the Comptroller of the Pentagon in May 2001. Perhaps not so coincidentally, it was an SPC subsidiary, TRIDATA CORPORATION, that oversaw the investigation after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 1993.

    As to Captain Shah’s complicity in the destruction of Flight 370, this report continues, GRU assests have confirmed his being targeted by a CIA “honey trap” which destroyed his marriage and left him in “no state of mind to be flying.”

    This GRU report further confirms Malaysian investigators discovery that Captain Shah received a two-minute call shortly before the take-off of Flight 370 from this CIA “honey pot” using a mobile phone number obtained under a false identity.

    As to the course of Flight 370 once it left KLIA, the GRU says, it is “nearly assured” that Captain Shah disabled the communication systems and “activated” the FTS allowing the US Navy to divert it to Diego Garcia, but only after it had ascended to nearly 44,000 feet where “undoubtedly” all of the other passengers and crew were killed by asphyxiation.

    After the “highly suspicious” cargo Flight 370 was carrying was offloaded in Diego Garcia, GRU analysts in this report say, its “most likely” tragic ending occurred around 3,218 kilometers (2,000 miles) off Diego Garcia, which is part of Britain’s Indian Ocean territory, where it was deliberately destroyed as evidenced by the over 300 objects spotted in this region by a Thai satellite.

    As to what exactly the “highly suspicious” cargo aboard Flight 370 was this report doesn’t say, other than to note that due to the extraordinary, and deadly, lengths the US went through to obtain and then destroy it most likely could have been the “dirtiest bomb known to have ever been constructed.”

    Also left unanswered in this report is who within the US is responsible for all of these events, as the GRU says it is “highly unlikely” that Obama was even “in the loop” regarding it... link to story

    Not much happening on the news front, just saw this article about the the nuclear
    summit in the Hague and we are always talking about symbolism within the PTB.
    Well either they do not give a toss and are getting brazen ? or they are just taking
    the p--- out of us all...LOL

    I have not heard much on the news about this event, that has been going on
    quietly while the headlines are on the missing plane and Ukraine. Normally
    this would be the main story , but until I saw this article I had not seen much
    about it on the news channels.

    In my mind what we are talking about are theories, and that includes the “official” version as it is, so far. We all are missing the crucial plane itself which will hopefully tell more. Soon.

    While I do not think of myself as a conspiracy theorist to much, planes don't go missing everyday, so yes I was looking to your input, from a conspiracy forum like this. I have missed entire sections on this thread but even so, thoughts naturally change as facts do come in. Theories evolved for everyone. And here, in this case, theories diverge drastically from each other. Is the pilot a hero or a villain? As example.

    Many people are trying wholeheartedly to figure out what happened. Just to point out, It takes a long time to go through satellite pictures to identify any objects present at all. A lot of manpower was put into it, if you don't know where to look. Also, it takes 3 sets of data to triangulate position using pinging and this only does approximate where it ended up and the fact of how long the plane was in the air, or at least 7 hours long since the next ping didn't come, we know it didn't go farther. It could have crashed just after that ping or just before the next should have come, giving a guess only. Communicating information and cooperation isn't easy between what 22?29 countries.

    I know fuel usage came up in the forum before. Lots of minds putting different data and pieces together. Many countries are cooperating, many people tried and still are. We all know we sometimes do go into dead ends and blind alleys. Or to incompetence and cover-ups.

    I have not seen anyones hard work slammed here, so I am glad to see some brainstorming and debating the way forums should go. What cooperation was tried between countries or in this forum, really brilliant, from remote viewing to investigative journalism. To me a big thing. We all hoped to find these people alive and with the story told from them. Many people's hearts are in the right place.

    I am surprised, for my thinking is that when 2 cars collide, it is an accident and there should be no paper or money trail before the accident. If this is an accident, then there should be no paper or money trail, yet there are thoughts that say otherwise brought up here. A trail is a trail.

    I do have questions of some things talked about here. Were the patent holders on the plane that was mentioned previously? I am confused, it sounds like they were not. If not, where are they? Because now I feel concerned about them. Also, were there 20 employees from that company (Freescale)? If so, I know some talk about technical expertise they had but if it's about money, it could be these people are hostages or leverage over the patent holders. Was that brought up?

    I also would like to know, if besides satellites searching and pinging, whether anyone tried to follow the path of the plane? I know that initially there were 2 paths, North and South which meant dividing into 2 directions. It's a different methodology, of follow the path and see where it leads you. Not on a map but I mean physically fly that path. Here we jump from clue to clue all over the place (I mean as far as locating the plane). These methodologies usually do work, so I don't want to slam them. If someone is lost in the desert, no oasis in sight, one person follows the path and never leaves it. Others do jump ahead to where the person maybe going and if clues are found, this refines direction and shortens the time in locating someone who is lost. Called jumping. But sticking to the path is never forgotten, for this does work and also provides clues. Was this done? Does anyone here know?
    Should it be done? It might have provided faster clues. If no one has thought of it, remember me, and that it came from here.

    I also checked out the media recently, channel surfing. Well I passed over Geraldo, wish I hadn't, want to hear him, haven't in a long while. Instead I tuned into a military expert, clueless who, who starts talking about the missing flight, shifts to terrorism and protecting ourselves from it, to freeing ourselves from foreign energy to allowing oil drilling and fracking???? What? What? What? We went from missing plane to promoting fracking in a very short time span. Crazy. I do not know how to respond.

    I await to see where this mystery leads and the truth known. Many many, unanswered questions yet.

    Search operation for Malaysia Airlines aircraft: Update 26

    Friday’s search area for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 was shifted north after international air crash investigators in Malaysia updated their previous analysis of the likely aircraft movements.

    The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) assessed this update as credible, and advised AMSA of the new basis for a revised search area.

    AMSA then applied the effects of weather and currents to develop today’s search area.

    Five aircraft spotted multiple objects of various colours during Friday’s search.

    The objects cannot be verified or discounted as being from MH370 until they are relocated and recovered by ships. It is not known how much flotsam, such as from fishing activities, is ordinarily there. At least one distinctive fishing object has been identified.

    Today’s weather is expected initially to be suitable for searching but conditions are expected to deteriorate later in the day.

    The Chinese Maritime Safety Administration ship Haixun 01 has been on scene for relocating objects from first light.

    Search activities today will involve a total of 8 aircraft.

    They include three Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) P3 Orions, a Japanese Coast Guard jet, a Japanese P3 Orion, a Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) P3 Orion, a Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force Ilyushin IL-76, and one civil jet acting as a communications relay.

    The first aircraft to depart was the Chinese Ilyushin IL-76, which departed at 9:05am.

    The first RAAF P3 Orion departed at 9:50am, with two others scheduled to depart about 12pm and 2pm.

    The civil jet is scheduled to depart about 1pm.

    The Japan Coast Guard jet is scheduled to depart about 2pm.

    The Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) P3 Orion is scheduled to depart about 3pm.

    The Japanese P3 Orion is scheduled to depart about 4pm Six ships are expected to reach the search area today, tasked with relocating the objects sighted, but will arrive late in the day or after dark.

    The bad thing about it is really not the archetypes or sacred geometry .

    I feel so silly when I encounter some of these 'conspiracy sites' where people ignorant of the pure and essential meaning slander everything that is connected to sacred arts , religions and harmony
    while on the next page they keep 'rediscovering' the 'secrets' from one or another new age guru .

    The bad thing about it is that people sit in one circle, under one roof , whether it's pyramid shaped or not, at conferences, at the UN, in governments, in buildings , chairs and maybe costumes that should evoke high ideals and intelligent decisions

    but seldom keep to the same ideals when they go 'home' .

    The outer beauty and harmony is but dried out shell of times and ideals that our ancestors wanted to preserve , to remind us they were not lesser than we are , in these times and that there's always more to realise in future .

    But how many of those present , in these conferences , carry the same high ideals within , full knowledge of the symbols, of the awareness ?
    From what I've glimpsed .. it's very few out of hundreds. The rest keep denying it . Even among those so called like-to-be high initiates of various 'illuminati ( read sacred ) orders' very few people understand and live by the wisdom, by their ideals .

    Out of topic sorry ...

    but the all-pervading lack of ethics and justice is obvious. Truth not practised 'behind the curtain' can not work in parliaments . And I think , I'm not far from truth if I say that it was similar in old Egypt , old Greece and old Mesopotamia and whatever olds ..

    Still not coming across anything concrete...I mean aluminum...regarding MH370. My vote is still for bottom of the drink. This story annoys me enough that I'd be willing to risk my life to get the real skinny out there, but as a casual observer there is little that can be done other than watch and wait on my end.

    Short version: Bits of rubbish seen in ocean from air and ships collected some rubbish, none of which were from a plane. Few more days yet before the black box detector is in the area.

    Search activities for Saturday have now concluded. Approximately 252,000 square kilometres were searched.

    Aircraft in the search area have continued to report sightings of objects similar to those reported on Friday.

    A Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force Ilyushin IL-76 reported sighting three objects in the search area.

    A Royal Australian Air Force P3 Orion also reported sighting multiple objects in a different part of the search area.

    The objects sighted by aircraft cannot be verified or discounted as being from MH370 until they are relocated and recovered by ships.

    The Haixun 01 and HMAS Success reported they have retrieved a number of objects from the ocean but so far no objects confirmed to be related to MH370 have been recovered.

    Today’s search activities involved a total of eight aircraft.

    They included three Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) P3 Orions, a Japanese Coast Guard jet, a Japanese P3 Orion, a Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) P3 Orion, a Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force Ilyushin IL-76, and one civil jet acting as a communications relay.

    HMAS Success, the Chinese Maritime Safety Administration ship Haixun 01, China Rescue and Salvage Bureau ship Nan Hai Jiu, and the Chinese Navy ship Jinggang Shan arrived in the search area today and a further five ships should arrive tomorrow.

    The ANZAC class frigate HMAS Toowoomba left Perth earlier tonight and is due to arrive at the search area in about three days.

    The weather in the search area was described as reasonable for searching however visibility was reduced to about four kilometres with rain showers.

    The search will resume in the morning.

    One of the Chinese ships radioed to demand the crew turn around, or "take full responsibility" for their actions.

    But the Philippine boat, ferrying food to troops stationed on the Second Thomas Shoal, managed to slip past.

    The shoal is one of many flashpoints in the area, where several countries have overlapping territorial claims.

    Multiple claims
    China claims a U-shaped swathe of the sea - creating multiple overlaps with areas claimed by the Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia and Taiwan.

    Saturday's incident, which took place at Second Thomas Shoal (known as Ayungin in Manila and Ren'ai Reef in Beijing), is a rare glimpse into the tensions that routinely play out in the disputed waters.

    Journalists say they saw two Chinese coast guard ships attempt to block the path of the Philippine boat, sending a radio message, in English, warning that it was entering Chinese territory: "We order you to stop immediately, stop all illegal activities and leave."

    But instead of leaving, the Philippine boat managed to manoeuvre away and enter waters that were too shallow for the Chinese ships to follow.

    The captain of the Philippine vessel, Ferdinand Gato, later told Reuters news agency that if they had not changed direction, they would have collided with one of the Chinese vessels.

    Air-drop
    Philippine troops are stationed on a beached, rusting military ship on the shoal that analysts say has become a symbol of the country marking its territory.

    Two weeks ago, Manila made a formal complaint to Beijing after a similar incident when Chinese vessels succeeded in blocking a resupply mission to the shoal.

    Philippine planes resorted to air-dropping food and water supplies for the soldiers stationed on board the marooned ship.

    The latest confrontation was witnessed by more than a dozen journalists.

    They had been invited by the Philippine military to board the government vessel to show alleged bullying by Chinese vessels in the area.

    The Chinese foreign ministry condemned the Philippines for trying to "hype up" the issue, according to a statement quoted by Xinhua news agency.

    The ministry accused Manila of trying to "illegally seize" the shoal.

    The incident comes a day before the Philippines is due to file a case against China with the UN tribunal in The Hague, challenging its territorial claim to most of the South China Sea.

    The NSA and other snoops have people of interest. If a handful of said people end up on the same flight, say MH370, would that plane become a target of opportunity? Casualties of war and all that. How hard would it be for a spook group to arrange for people of interest to all end up in the same place at the same time? IMO we need to find out if there was any penguins on board and then start a search in Madagascar.

    The man claimed to be blindfolded when he sent the message. When the American military blindfolds someone, it is accomplished by putting a bag over the head that is locked so you can't get it off. This left the engineers hands free. This would have made it possible for him to pull his Iphone 5 (a fact confirmed by the Exif data) out of his butt as stated, and use the voice command ability of the Iphone to just talk to it to log in and post the message. This explains why he sent a black photo, he could not see what he was sending, he just knew he snapped a photo and sent whatever got taken.
    The coordinates:When the coordinates are added to the fact that the photo's exif data does not match the Google coordinates or any other coordinates for Diego Garcia that are posted online, but is still within the boundaries of Diego Garcia, it proves that no one just pulled those coordinates off the web. It helps confirm that this was not just a hoax because the coordinates are exact to wherever on Diego Garcia the Iphone was when it took the photo.

    IBM ENGINEER TAKEN FROM HIJACKED FLIGHT 370 GOT A SELFIE OUT TO THE INTERNET.
    This image, which appears black was posted as taken in a dark cell by an IBM engineer. The picture malfunctioned because the cell was too dark, but a critical piece of information was embedded in the Exif data, the coordinates to Diego Garcia, where the picture was taken. And it's real, this is NOT a hoax. The coordinates in the picture indicate that the photo was taken within 3 miles of what Google officially gives for Diego Garcia. It is NOT EXACTLY what comes up on Google. It is off a couple miles, so NO ONE GOOGLED THIS, thus helping to confirm it's authenticity. I don't know how big the island is, but if it has a runway, that certainly fits.
    The picture posted with the following text: "I have been held hostage by unknown military personal after my flight was hijacked (blindfolded). I work for IBM and I have managed to hide my cellphone in my ass during the hijack. I have been separated from the rest of the passengers and I am in a cell. My name is Philip Wood. I think I have been drugged as well and cannot think clearly."
    ASTEROID IMPACT LEVEL UPDATE:
    MY COMMENT: For what it's worth, the Exif is intact. Exif data gets embedded in every image by every camera and includes the circumstances under which the photo was taken. It can be viewed by saving the image to the left to your desktop, and then right clicking it and selecting image properties. Hit the details tab. You can see that the image was taken on March 18 with an Iphone 5, with the ISO at 3200 and a shutter of 1/15. It states no flash was used, which is the only oddity here. But the coordinates are included in the exif data because the Iphone knows where it is, and the coordinates are for Diego Garcia.
    Obviously I cannot confirm this 100 percent as real, but I do know that exif can't be rewritten with common software, it can only be added to with some applications and that photos with the exif intact will hold up in court. If the Exif is hacked and this is not real, the CIA or a really good hacker did this, which I doubt, I'd say it's probably real.
    Surrounding this story is the fact that the man who managed to get this information to Farganne was harassed and received many threatening voice mails over it, that is another piece of evidence pointing to this as being real. One thing is certain, once it's posted here on this site the genie is OUT OF THE BOTTLE. I cannot stress how important it is that the GPS coordinates in the photo do not perfectly match what Google says, because it proves that the source of those coordinates did not come from google, they really did come from the imaging device.

    The daughter of MH370's Capt Zaharie Ahmad Shah has said she will not forgive British tabloid the Daily Mail for "making up stories" that implied her father could be responsible for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

    Malaysian Pilots Association president Captain Abdul Manan Mansor today denied a report by Daily Mail online allegedly quoting him saying that the missing MH370 pilot Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah was "psychologically unstable" after a marriage break up.

    Abdul Manan not only denied claiming Zaharie was mentally unstable, he also clarified that he has never spoken to Daily Mail "I didn't speak to Daily Mail, I didn't say that Zaharie was psychologically unstable. You can disregard the entire article," he said.

    The Malaysia Aviation Management College chief executive asserted that he did not know Zaharie personally and would not have known of any marital problems he might or might not have had. "I don't know Zaharie personally, there are so many pilots registered in Malaysia, it is not unusual for some of us to not cross paths," he said, adding that he also did not know Zaharie's wife or children.

    MH370 PRESS BRIEFING BY HISHAMMUDDIN HUSSEIN, MINISTER OF DEFENCE AND ACTING MINISTER OF TRANSPORT
    31 MARCH 2014, 5:30PM

    Introductory statement

    Before I begin today’s briefing, I would like to reiterate what Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot said this morning. The international co-operation underway in the search for MH370 is nothing short of tremendous. The militaries of Malaysia, Australia, the United States, New Zealand, China, Japan and Korea are all working to find the missing plane.

    I should also like to point out that Indonesia has given clearance for 94 sorties - by aircraft from nine different countries - to fly in their airspace, as part of this search. As Prime Minister Abbot said, it is heartening to see so many different countries working together for a humanitarian cause; to resolve this extraordinary mystery; and to bring closure for the families of those on board.

    Prime Minister’s trip to Perth

    This morning, the Prime Minister spoke with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot. Prime Minister Abbot gave a full update on the status of the search operations, headed out of Perth.

    Our Prime Minister has decided to travel to Perth on Wednesday for a working visit to Pearce Air force base, to see the operations first hand and also to thank the personnel involved in the multinational search effort, including the Malaysian personnel.

    Operational update

    This afternoon, the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia briefed me on the creation of a new, Joint Agency Co-ordination Centre (JACC), which will be based out of Pearce Air force base in Perth. The JACC will be headed by Air Chief Marshal (ret.) Angus Houston, the former Chief of the Defense Force Australia.

    The JACC will co-ordinate operations between all Australian government agencies and international search teams. As per the information that we have received from the Australian authorities, the area of search today is 254,000 square kilometres.
    Today, nine military aircraft and one civilian aircraft travelled to the search area.

    These planes were:

    • two Malaysian C-130.
    • one Chinese Ilyushin IL-76.
    • one Japanese Coast Guard G5.
    • one Australian P3 Orion.
    • one New Zealand P3 Orion.
    • one New Zealand civilian aircraft.
    • one American P8 Poseidon.
    • one Japanese P3 Orion.
    • one Korean P3 Orion.

    Today eleven ships were also deployed to the search area:

    • Eight Chinese ships:
    - the Xue Long,
    - the Kunlunshan,
    - the Haikou,
    - the Qiandaohu Jian,
    - the Jing Gang Shan,
    - the Haixun,
    - the Dong Hai Jian,
    - and the Nan Hai Jian.

    • Three Australian ships:
    - the HMAS Success,
    - the HMAS Toowoomba
    - and MV Barkley Pearl, which is currently transiting in the search area.

    The Malaysian ship, the KD Lekiu, is expected to arrive in the search area on 3 April. The ADV Ocean Shield - fitted with the towed pinger locator and a Bluefin 21 autonomous underwater vehicle - is due to arrive in the search area on 3 April.

    In terms of the sightings of potential objects

    On Saturday, five objects were retrieved by HMAS Success and the Haixun. However, it was found that none of these objects were related to MH370.
    On Sunday, an Australian P3 Orion made visual sightings of seven potential objects. A Korean P3 Orion also made visuals of three potential objects.
    The Chinese ship, the Haixun, was tasked on Monday to retrieve these potential objects.

    ASEAN Defence Ministers’ meeting

    In my capacity as Malaysian Defence Minister, I will leave tonight for the United States Pacific Command in Hawaii. I will attend the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ meeting, which will be held from 1st to the 3rd of April. The meeting is being convened by US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

    On behalf of the Malaysian Government, I will share with my ASEAN counterparts, and the Government of the United States, the latest developments regarding the search for MH370. I will convey to our ASEAN neighbours and the United States, Malaysia’s utmost appreciation for their invaluable help in the multi-national search effort.

    I will also use this opportunity to discuss the possibility of deploying more specific military assets, in the event that we need to embark on a more complex phase of the operation. I shall be discussing with the United States, and our other friends and allies, how best we can acquire the assets needed for possible deep sea search and recovery.

    Meeting with the Indonesian Special Envoy

    Today, I held a meeting with the Indonesian Special Envoy and Special Advisor to the Foreign Minister, Madam Wiwiek Setyawati Firman, and her delegation. The delegation included H.E. Mr. Herman Prayitno, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Malaysia.

    The Special Envoy expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Malaysia and the multinational team conducting the search operation. The Special Envoy also stated that Indonesia fully understands the complexity and the magnitude of the challenge ahead, and reaffirms its unshakeable support for Malaysia.

    Next of Kin

    Yesterday a group of families, whose loved ones were on board MH370, arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Beijing. The Government is due to hold a high-level briefing soon for these families, to update them on the latest developments regarding the search for MH370. The briefing will include international experts who were not available during the briefings in Beijing, including experts from China. It will also be broadcasted live to other families in Beijing.

    The search for MH370 continues to be a large, complex, multinational effort involving many countries and international agencies. Much of the research that has been used to track MH370 has been provided to the Malaysian investigators by our international partners. This research is extremely complicated, involving teams of highly specialised experts, many of whom are based in different countries around the world.

    The briefing will provide an opportunity for the families to hear directly from some of these experts. The experts will be able to explain the research, the data and the methodology that has informed the search operation.

    Concluding remarks

    We understand that it has been a difficult time for all the families. And we appreciate that many families want to see physical evidence before they will accept that MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean.

    We find ourselves in a difficult position. I repeat: the question that the families principally want answered, is the question we simply do not have the answer to - namely, where their loved ones are, and where is MH370.

    On Saturday I met with the Malaysian and Chinese families based in Kuala Lumpur. It was the most difficult meeting I’ve ever attended. The families are heartbroken. For many, the strain of the past few weeks has been unbearable. But the one message they delivered to me again and again is not to give up hope.

    And I promised the families that Malaysia, working with our international partners, will not give up hope. We will continue with all our efforts to find MH370. This is a promise that Malaysia intends to keep. We will continue searching, and we will keep investigating, and we will never give up until we find out what happened to MH370.
