Jerry, that is good progress. Did I mention that your dreaming life was about to become quite a bit more robust? lol...

What a evening last night! From what I can tell no OBE remembered, but the dreams were numerous, it was as though as soon as I dozed off I was dreaming. I awoke frequently recording at least half a dozen different dreams and what I remembered of them, as most seemed sketchy at best.
Good onya!! Sometimes it will be a clear dream, others it will be vague memory fragments,, other times it will be just dialogue racing on and on... Every time that you lay there are remember them, you are increasing your ability to readily recall them. You are working with the memory function. Also, you are working at becoming more lucid on all fronts. Amazing what a journal can do.... Now, each time that you lay back down from writing in your journal,, try and hit the 'eye trigger', and see if it feels 'rigid' or 'loose'.. Meaning, does it feel like it is responding with warm spreading energy, or is it not responding at all?? Each time that you wake up and try again,, you are conditioning yourself to recognize and maintain deeper and deeper trance states... Even if you end up falling asleep, you are improving your range... Also, you are reprogramming your first waking thoughts to be more 'observant' of the shifts between sleep and wakefulness.. I am thrilled that you have decided to 'go the distance'... Regarding your dream about the ObE... I have said before that many of our OBEs will be remembered via the dreaming mind, or the dreaming states.. Admittedly,, sometimes it is a regular dream about an OBE... Which is perfectly fine because as you get better at trance work, your 'lucidity' within the dream-worlds will also increase.. A becoming lucid in a dream about flying or being out of body may just thrust you into an ObE too. It has happened to me lots of times.. I've been a 'fly on the wall' and observed as my dreaming mind dreamed, and my astral body walked around the room,, seemingly, on its own... (mind split,, yes) But it was all integrated and very fluid. The abstract dreaming mind was experiencing the OBE, though only as a dream,, and the astral counterpart would become confused a bit as it was experiencing the dreaming mind... Integration of ALL aspects an 'modes of thinking self',, is something to begin to consider, at least for the reason of trying to NOT be confused by 'fragmented' experiences.. Try and understand that the way in which our waking mind holds and stores memories,, and how our waking minds RECALL those memories is completely limited,, and is perfectly willing to ignore/deject 'memory types' from the type of memory that we retain during and OBE, (or a dream, for that matter.).. Basic meditation, energy work and a journal.... These are powerful tools to open us up wide, with regards memory and memory recall... I have a hard time with 'just a dream'... Though, I am biased...

One was peculiar in the fact that I dreamed I was having an OBE. I preceded to walk outside. I want to say through the wall. There was no familiarity in the surroundings in the dream and was during the day, and the fact it was at night(real time) seems to confirm this was a dream .
Many more implications here that 'just a dream'.. The initial OBE state that you find yourself in is an exact duplicate of the 'real' world, just a bit out of phase and, or course, an energetic copy (template,, which ever you prefer).. The passing of time will be the same.. At least for the first say, couple of minutes... You will be perfectly able to experience the passing of moments in the way that you normally do.. Admittedly, this will not last as the ObE has a tendency to slip into much less dense states of being... Robert Bruce called this initial ObE state the RTZ. Real Time Zone,, Specifically because there was a 'real time' feel to it... Also, if it is dark outside it will be dark in the ObE... Vision is a reflection of you, in the astral,, and if you want to 'see',, then of course you can.. Just because it is dark outside, doesn't mean that you won't be able to 'see'... When you project in the afternoon, or sometime during the middle of the day when the sun is still out, then the ObE takes on a completely different 'feel' than during the night.. It is obvious in the ObE that there is more light.. It is much more fun, there are more people out and about,, there is nothing 'painted' into the astral by folks who are sleeping and having bad dreams.. It is a very different experience in that much of the fear will not be there either... Generally, if it is dark outside (and everyone else is sleeping) then the ObE will have a much different 'nightly' feel to it... Remember the 'feel' of walking during the 'witching hour'. Then remember the feel of a walk at noon. Very different! The passing of moments seem the same.. Getting past this initial astral 'locale' will be easy and natural too... Some projectors never spend a single moment in RTZ.... Go figure...

    Quote Posted by jerry (here)
There was no vibrations or paralysis, I recall, and the other dreams of the night were not as lucid as the 1st ( the obe )
Most likely you were engaging the dreaming states all night. The ObE dream was a bit more, methinks.. But try and remember that being aware of vibrations and/or paralysis is NOT required for OBE... Though very very very common...

Also,, when I am doing daily energy work and meditations, and reeeeaaalllyyy concentrating and studying (like I am now, and so are you,,) I still do not project every night, (that I recall). It can be frustrating... My frequency, or 'batting average' increases and I project about twice a week, on average... So don't get too frustrated with yourself if you don't project right away, or you can't muster the 'vibrations'... It is like fishing,, do all the right things and then when you get a 'bite',,, grab the reigns and go!!

Sounds to me like you are doing all of the right things. A burning desire to project will come in handy too... You already have that, methinks..

    Keep us updated, Jerry..
    Jake.

You were a nightstalker too, huh? I remember those years. Some parts of them as well. A feeling of protection in the night, of being watched over. A discarnate presence with you, observing.
Yes, yes! I thought it was just me.. There is much on the edge of my memory that I have yet to expose completely.. Though, I suspect that it is inevitable... Many of the positive, non-physical experiences (that I may not remember),, opened up my physical life to negative things that I DO remember... My own 'Secret School' followed me wherever I went... And it can be mind numbing,, the level of abuse and ridicule that can be dished out by 'grown ups' who are supposed to have some sort of guidance... From then to now,, things are a changing!! Folks can talk about it now... It didn't used to be that way!! Part of the overall awakening that is occurring is going to force folks to choose between making decisions based on personal sovereignty, or making decisions based on fears and doubts. (And knowing the differences.) And when it comes to that, I had to decide that, for myself,, that I cannot change the world... But I can change MY world. And then, maybe as individuals in small groups,, we can change OUR worlds.. And then we can look around and begin to see a pattern emerging in places where we never imagined.. It is what is happening before my eyes!! And likewise, you cannot change the world. But you can change YOUR world,, and likewise,, we slowly begin to recognize that the world IS changing... That is quite encouraging.. Even though we see that games that are being played on a world 'theatre',, we can transcend it all by TAKING OURSELVES OUT OF THE GAME... (Not by going out of body, btw) I'm talking about personal sovereignty, and seeing the world through completely different 'goggles'... It all leads me back to the study of ObE... Going through the steps of the process is going to ignite a personal journey that demands that personal sovereignty be ALIVE AND WELL.. And when folks mix personal sovereignty with verification of being more than their human bodies,, then the game changes... The Archontic influences are highly dependent on a very 'sleeping' state.. Sovereignty over our own lives is considered to be competition over what they already consider 'theirs'... (That too, is out of the scope of this study,,,, lol....)

It is amazing how life turns out. The directions it takes and the compatriots you find along the way. There is such a symmetry to experience that it seems to me to be far beyond any form of coincidence. The jigsaw-like "fit" is just too perfect. Just recognizing the shift in consciousness reaffirms your experience out of body. When I was a kid in the 70s and teen in the 80s, being interested in sci-fi, fantasy, mystical experiences and ancient history was far from as prevalent as it is now. It was practically non-existent in the general population back then. Practically everybody was in a state of sleep still. In the schools we attended it was necessary to be silent, to hide these experiences from others, and just to coexist or even fit in was impossible no matter how hard it was attempted. My bare minimum of social acceptance only came because of my cultivated skillsets, varsity basketball and track, jazz musician, artist, etc. I was always the odd duck. And still am, even in a place like PA. But it is nice to find those who commiserate and share similar experiences and understandings, which is more common in a place like this than anywhere else.

But now ... things have shifted. Kids in HS can speak of these things with other kids their age, there are more of them around. And the big groups of Indigos and Crystals are in their teens and early 20s. So they are definitely shifting things more in the consciousness direction. But there are still many of us Gen-X'ers, who I believe were the Generation that continued the shift that the Boomers started, in such a low-key manner that most people don't even realize that we had anything to do with it, other than birthing the Gen Y-Z'ers.

No, it cannot be stopped. But as those who are using every attempt at their disposal to contain and control it realize that, the potential for an attempted disruption of the inevitable may still be considered, although it cannot succeed at any level.
Yep!! Mee daughters are in High School.. All of them and their friends are very open minded.. I do not stuff this stuff in their ears.. lol... I don't need to.. Them and their friends talk about different 'fringe' subjects all of the time. Whenever they are with their friends (and out of hearing range of other adults) it is like twenty questions or something... These kids are having different experiences and they are STARVING for someone to put it into a bit of context for them... I foresee a world where the education centers take all of this into consideration, even as a central part of learning... Well, the word is out in my neighborhood... lol

There are a number of transformational potentials apparent and concurrent in Western culture that are on the rise, both negative and positive. Most are beyond the scope of this thread. But that "vacuum of energies" that you reference does indeed include these oppositional energies that compete for supremacy within the mentalities of all of us who ARE Western culture, and that includes those of us of split-consciousness, and by that I mean the children of the colonized, the black and the brown, those of us who live in double-consciousness daily, being forced into disassociation at a young age by the vagaries of society and culture. To "fit in" to a culture that rejects validity of your biological essence as a basic condition of its continuation. This, in addition to those of us within these larger populations with the added "burden" of possessing a split-consciousness of the type described in detail in this thread.

This is, again, the gift and the curse of Western thinking and culture, the additive and subtractive ability to simultaneously elevate and degrade members of that selfsame culture based upon external conditions that are also a part of the overall cultural expression, i.e. freedom and slavery, equality and inequality, all of the great paradoxes of life and living in the terrible and wondrous times. In a sense, the desire for freedom that is required to transcend the physical boundaries as well as the societal ones, is augmented by the greater restrictions that may be placed upon material conditions. Another aspect that was relevant to my own experience.

All of these aspects are swirling around in the aether around us, all a part of the great hologram, the archontic infiltration, the cultural and familial blessings and curses. The detritus through which we must stumble before freeing ourselves from it all in order to experience reality unadulterated in the form we are expressing here in this thread specifically and on PA in general. The solutions are present here, as are the obstacles.

Thank you for your insight, I am humbled. I see a world where we are pushing through, despite the obstacles. I certainly did not see it at first. Once I got past my own personal fears, my experiences (both in, and out of body) came to life and took on a whole new meaning... Some say that experience of TIME is merely the rate at which we observe change. And that it is different for each of us, though we do not know it.. And that there is NO fixed rate as to the 'speed' in which time goes by... I posit that we have transcended time already,,, and these are the experiences of it.... Even a memory is being remembered NOW!!! (Jake giggles inside.)

We are pushing through.. Like the pioneers of old,, we will find the way!!

    Love to you Rahk.

Yes. While I'm thinking of this I want to mention it, in regards to that topic I can't discuss personally. In general, I'd like to add an emphatic agreement to the idea as expressed in some of the more recent threads that by choosing to follow this path consciously, by opening up and entering into the exploration of the higher dimensions, by so doing, we do indeed make ourselves known to other entities and collectives. Exploring the lower 4th, particularly, brings us to the attention of entities that reside there, that are passing thru, and also to extraterrestrial and also terrestrial collectives that work there, to include above-top-secret organizations.

There is a state that can be entered, while awake. It is a state of reverie, but I imagine it is really an alpha or delta wave state (perhaps you can expound on this a bit Jake or someone else can) where your mind is free floating and your consciousness is disassociated. We all experience this state to a greater or lesser degree upon the cusp between waking and sleep, but it can be brought about while fully awake as well. In this state, obviously external thoughts, having absolutely nothing to do with you, enter into your mind and pass through like bubbles bursting upon the surface of an endless sea. Some of them are images and multidimensional concepts that tantalize and tease with their depth, while others are voices, snippets of conversation. It is obviously a state of openness, of telepathy perhaps. But it feels like even more than that.

Sometimes within that state, not often, but enough, I experience voices that are directed at me, that have a radio-like quality to them, and they are often calling my name as if attempting to reach me from a vast distance. Sometimes they are insistent, once or twice, even desperate. I imagine these are people I have known, who have taken the path laid out for them as I did not, and who are ensconced, somewhere, obeying others directives and working in faceless buildings behind nondescript walls doing things that most people do not believe exist.

I wonder if someday I will find out if this is true ...

Yes. I find this to be exactly true exactly as you have stated here. Chaos theory manifest, quantum entanglement as experiential reality. Each of us who Awakens does indeed affect their closest family members and friends thorugh their shift in perception, even as cognitive dissonance often results in conflict between that individual and those family and friends as they find themselves exposed to new information and realities that their minds are now able to comprehend and entertain, but which their synaptic connections and neural networks are not equipped yet to process and understand.

This opening is always a painful process, a process that can result in broken relationships and uncomfortable family gatherings but which, in the end, always result in growth for all involved and through them, through each of us, the process continues to spread and grow, virus-like, organic in nature and comprehensive in scope, affecting the interlinked world metanarratives in subtle but increasingly direct ways, resulting in the world we experience today.

The mainstream media, the movies, the tv shows, the ghosts, the science, the sci-fi, the fantasy, it is all of the things that we read about as children but did not see around us expressed in the world except through the rare shows and the books that we found in the libraries. Now, they are the mainstream. A total sea change in just a generation and some change. From the few of us, to the many. And the shift continues.

    Peace and blessings.

Thanks for the Bruce and Tom interview Jake. It was indeed a most interesting conversation. Methinks if the majority of people were to hear that conversation, lots of people could be saved from grief of their own making health wise.

I understand more or less completely the conversations you and Rahkyt have posted. Feeling alienated somehow from others because we do think and feel differently, have "odd" experiences beyond the norm is something I have lived with all of my life. I somehow knew as a child that my parents we not my parents for real even though they were in fact my biological parents, lol! But how does a 10-12 yr old kid tell their parents that? Well I chose to keep my mouth shut.

As far as social groups, I didn't fit in with any of them, yet tried to remain casual throughout school. The only thing I could do, if you will, to fit in was, like Rahkyt, participate in sports. That was my only outlet. It was tough to watch all of the social farces and the click-ish ways of the high school crowd. I never wanted any part of it as it was all so obvious. So I got used to being different and made it a point to just observe on the sidelines and continued it throughout my years in the military.

To continue with my theory, methinks that the energy which surrounds the body is your consciousness which is part and parcel of Source, Itself. Your consciousness is energy which Tom Campbell would refer to as an information field. I have heard it said that "light is the source of all knowledge". Therefore your consciousness could be said to be a light energy field which contains all knowledge which is stored, imho within different "frequencies" within that light energy field. Remember, the physical body is surrounded by and permeated within that field.

Methinks also, as previously stated, that is the function of your neural networks to interface with that light energy field, mostly centered around the head/crown chakra area predominately. To be focusing on having obe experiences is one way to specialize your consciousness to that end.

That can best be done by the unification of neurons/neural networks. This is brought about by "inspired" thought-will-intent to experience and inspired action. Inspired action being the work applied mentally with great follow through. Methinks this combination in tandem will bring the ability to make known the previously unknown.

Ever had a "light bulb" moment, a moment when now you know instantly what you didn't know before? Methinks the "inspirational moment" is the direct result of a new neural connect within your own consciousness.

To add, Bruce Lipton talked in his conversation with Tom Campbell how he was sitting at his computer typing, when he suddenly received an inspirational "download" from the Universe, a light bulb moment (my words). Methinks that inspiration of information came from within his own higher consciousness at the moment his newer neural networks came on line. In other words he had accessed an information field that he had not been able to access before.

Hi Jake , a follow up to last evening is warranted after reading this comment.... "Jerry, that is good progress. Did I mention that your dreaming life was about to become quite a bit more robust? lol..."

The very next night the dreams came and went, not as many but these seemed to be easily recalled, during the recording of them, in my log, the details keep coming, the bits and pieces keep revealing themselves as though I had total recall and this was totally different from the night before where I could hardly recall most the details. I have probably spent on average 4 to 5 hours minimum each day watching vids and reading the articles of the links posted, and yet I feel I haven't scratched the surface. The Bruce and Lipton material posted is on the slate for now , still soaking it in. I'm in the middle of Bruce's Astral Dynamics pdf and cant get enough as it has taken the doldrums' out of the days going by without sustainable employment, right where I need to be "ME THINKS!" . As of late there isn't hardly a day that goes by I don't get an ah ha moment, and coupled with the ability to share these nuance experience's here and get the feed back from all, I cant express my gratitude enough. So as longs as you guys are here and willing, Im chillin right with ya.

Update 10/16: Nothing last night that I recall , as far as dreams or OBE experiences. I guess that is to be expected

That statement just reminded me of something similar that has happened to me for decades. I don't need an alarm clock to wake me up. If I have to get up at a certain time in the morning I tell myself just as I'm going to bed "okay, Nancy, wake up at 6:00 am". At exactly that time or a minute before either my eyes will automatically pop open and I know it's time to get up or about 80% of the time a voice will say NANCY! I hear it very clearly and distinctly. As you said, sometimes it is very insistent or commanding. Several times I have heard my name said somewhat desperately also, but that is usually in the middle of the night. My husband used to set an alarm clock when he had to be up but after a while he accepted that I would always awaken about a minute before the alarm went off. The voice always came through. I don't like alarm clocks so it looks like I must have gotten some help from a higher self or? to wake me up. Very handy!

I almost never have to get up at a certain time nowadays since I work at home but the voice still occasionally wakes me up in the middle of the night. A few times in the last year or so, when it sounds a bit desperate, I get the gun I keep by my bedside and do a check around the house. Nothing has ever happened so far so maybe it's just practice and the voice has some other reason for calling me. For the last several years my husband has been on a graveyard shift so I'm most often home alone while sleeping. I'm not the paranoid type at all but I do like to be prepared for anything.

Quote Sebastion: Feeling alienated somehow from others because we do think and feel differently, have "odd" experiences beyond the norm is something I have lived with all of my life. I somehow knew as a child that my parents we not my parents for real even though they were in fact my biological parents, lol! But how does a 10-12 yr old kid tell their parents that? Well I chose to keep my mouth shut.
I probably SHOULD have totally kept my mouth shut about my parents not being my "real" parents but at about 9-10 years old I wrote a story about how I was really an extra terrestrial who was left here and put into the care of my earth parents. It was some sort of writing assignment in grammar school. Of course I told the teacher it was just a science fiction story. I was an avid science fiction reader from when I started to read a lot at about age 6. I suppose that's a bit young to be so involved with reading but I started reading very early and LOVED it. It was a great way to escape from the normal strange world. Occasionally I would accuse my mother of not being my real mother. She took it pretty well and would often say "anything is possible". LOL...

Quote Sebastion: As far as social groups, I didn't fit in with any of them, yet tried to remain casual throughout school.
Yep, I never fit in with the cliquey social groups and I liked it that way! I was a very good competitive swimmer and until I finally quit school and left home a couple of months before I turned 17, I swam and won most of my competitions. I also was one of the best in any other sports I participated in. Although kids did try to intimidate me at different times throughout my school years, it didn't work out well for them at all. I was unable to be intimidated and if anyone dared to attack me or my sister, who was a bully magnet and fairly helpless, they (usually older bully type girls) never won a fight with me, whether it was mental sparring or actual physical confrontations. So they ended up leaving me alone. But I did have to continue defending my sister as long as we were in the same school.

Just so I don't leave an impression that I think I'm really tough (which I suppose I do think...LOL) I'll mention that I did lose fights or physical encounters after I left home, but that was only when I was attacked by a man, which happened several times in the years when I was 16-29. We women just aren't as strong as men and it doesn't pay to get involved in any kind of physical fight with someone you have little or no chance against. At that time in my life I attracted a lot of dangerous situations and if you're going to play the dangerous games you will probably get hurt a few times. I always accepted that it was my responsibility if I was abducted, beaten, raped, etc. so when those situations happened I did not drag them out with any feelings of self pity or emotional devastation. My motto was "sh*t happens". I found it easy to move on to the next adventure.

I think these experiences helped prepare me for being in the astral planes, which I did not enter until 1981, shortly before I turned 34. The astral can be scary and seem dangerous, especially if you have not fully let go of fear. When I left my body previously it was always to remain just outside or above my body, normally exiting the body by just lifting out, although not through any particular location in the body. It was more like the way people describe "rolling out" of your body. Later when I entered the astral planes it was through my crown chakra. If I started leaving via a different route I would tend to get stuck. It's really weird being stuck in your throat or stomach area, halfway in/halfway out! LOL...

When I listened to the talk where Tom Campbell was describing his OBE's at the Monroe institute, or I hear people talk about how they go to different places in this world while out of body, I think I've missed out on a lot of fun times! I never did travel out of body in this world. Yeah, I fell into a couple of different dimensions/times through some portals at several power spots, but I never developed the ability to travel and see the earth. I always left this world far far behind and gave it no thought at all when traveling in the Astral and up to Source. I wonder if you leave your body through the crown chakra if that naturally leads to the astral and beyond and if you exit through other locations you might stay around earth? That seems to be the way it works for me.

That's pretty cool NancyV! In my youth and living out in the country, there was a cow pasture across the street and along one fence line there was a big old pin oak tree that I would climb way up into, usually on Sunday mornings to get away from all of it. I couldn't be seen up there by my siblings so it was good alone time. Sitting up there pondering and attempting to talk with god and wondering how I ended up on earth was the norm for me. It was in that tree, I felt often times that my "race" had left for the stars in mass and I had somehow been left behind, which saddened me somewhat. My only hope was that maybe someday they would come back and I would get to rejoin my people.

It's funny you should mention exiting the body through the crown chakra. In later years it became my preferred way to exit. In my youth I always just sat up out of the body, put my feet on the floor and just stood up. Looking back it seems when I exited that way, my travels would remain earth bound, never going a great distance away for the most part. It seems to me (and I could be wrong) that when I exited from the crown, my travels were for the most part beyond the earth. TBH, never thought to see if it made any difference really.

Somewhere I came across the idea that leaving through the crown was a "higher" way of doing it and don't even remember now where that idea came from!

Wow, you guys... I have documented in my journals, over and over,, that when I have a 'crown center' exit,, I never remember the ObE.... I am starting to understand why!! I can't bring 'the reporter Jake' with me... I think that the more that I ponder the astral through 'waking mind goggles',, the less I receive from the more refined dimensional sojourns... Well, maybe not the Less I Receive,, rather the less that I PERceive... Most of my exits seem to be 'solar' or 'heart' center exits... Sometimes even 'brow' exits, as I can tell those from the others because of the incredible 'visual' and 'sensual' (not sexual) experience.. I have read that the 'solar' center feeds the Astral bodies and especially the OBE states... Not the 'astral proper',, or,, 'higher' dimensions... Robert Monroe ended up referring to the more dense astral locales as the 'Earth Life Belief System Territories'. Which of course denotes the astral realms that are manifest unto the belief systems of Earth Humans. I've had many experiences beyond these realms.. But they are 'experiential',, and I find it hard, even impossible to describe what I experienced other than to say that I lay there for hours sobbing with joy, knowing whatever it is that I experienced is WELL beyond me...

I have had a mixed bag of experiences with Higher Self, or Source... I have had different experiences with versions of myself in the astral, but I always know that it was an aspect of self.. (except maybe the early years with the Feller on the Threshold,, I was definitely confused then...) I went through about a year tying to find a spirit guide or aspect of higher self to teach me. I would find myself out of body, very excited,, and I would say things like "Okay, here I am,, where are you?",, or I would say "I know you are there,, where are you?",, "C'mout C'mout, wherever you are!"... (using 'words' in the astral feels strange, btw..) My expectations were based off of things that I had read or heard, so what would happen was an EXPECTATION of what others reported,,, and did not feel genuine.. For example,, once I demanded to experience higher self while out of body (just like Buhlman describes,,) and I watched as a misty form materialized in front of me and shaped itself into a large white Parrot! A bird?? (I am Cherokee, Bird Clan.) No words, it took off flying, and I followed. We were flying low, through the trees of an apple orchard near my house.. We flew around for a couple of minutes, and I lost him... Dunno where it went,, didn't seem very special to me... Just a bird that showed up when I DEMANDED higher self... Another time I was able to 'interview' a voice,, ask it questions. That was more profound, but still quite mundane.. I don't want to see a 'version' of myself,,, I WANT TO EXPERIENCE SOURCE/SELF.... Another time, I stopped in the middle of an OBE and looked over at the fellow who was staring at me... He was startled.. He was an old Chinese fellow that just hovered in the air.. Very wise and very kind. No dialogue,, somehow I knew it was me!! Again,,, I didn't want ME in a 'mask'... I wanted to experience SELF... Every time that I tried, I was a bit disappointed, as I was forcing a version of self that was just as limited as me... I began simply saying,,, I DEMAND TO BE TAKEN TO SELF... Then I would simply wake up in my body,, assuming that I had simply forgotten the rest.. I decided that perhaps these things were trying to tell me that I WAS my higher self,, and so I gave up on trying...

Here is the example of the 'interview'...

    Quote Posted by Jake (here)
Before I went to bed, I did some basic energy work routines, while listening to Coast to Coast. Nothing too intense. Then I allowed myself do drift off to sleep. I woke up at some point in the night to go to the bathroom. As I lay back down, I decided to 'watch' myself as 'I' went to sleep. I usually just fall back to sleep, of course, but sometimes it has a powerful effect. Especially after a sleep for about an hour. As I was 'falling' sleep, there was a pretty intense 'dunking' sensation. It felt fluid, like being dunked under water. That must have marked the point where muscle tone drops out and the sleep paralysis mechanism kicks in, because I noticed that I was paralyzed! There were also sudden and intense 'torso rush' energy waving and flowing throughout my entire body. I was perfectly lucid. I could feel my dog sleeping next to me, and I could still hear the computer playing Coast to Coast.
This is the point where I usually try and exit, but last night I wanted to try something different. I thought immediately about this post, and decided to try your advice. I have always experienced quite a mixed bag of nuts when requesing, or demanding higher self or 'guides'. That may be simply because I am doing so AFTER the 'exit' and into the RTZ. (Real Time Zone, The initial astral realm closest to the physical/Energetic duplicate of the physical realm, the passing of time seems to be mostly similar to the physical.) Last night, I tried to demand higher self. I said outloud, (in my mind, using words.) "Where are you?". Nothing happened, as usual. I remembered that I should not ask, but demand, and I tried again... "I go to my higher self. !!! !!! !!!

OK, here is what happened. (Remember that I was not out of my body, yet laying there in a trance-like, energetic state.)

I felt a very large, radiating presence come into my 'space'. I did not get a visual, but the energetic feeling seemed to effect my very soul, energetically. I got giddy and started to giggle and chuckle. I wasn't even sure why. When I did, there was an emotional/energetic return. Every time the joy built a bit, I would chuckle and giggle a bit more, and this presence would 'giggle' (intense energetic/emotional return) back. I was thinking to myself how amazing this was, I must have stubled upon some type of energetic mirror,, because this energy felt like it was ME. (I have had many bi-location experiences, but only from the 'out of body' perspective, looking back at the physical,,,) As soon as I settled on the thought that this was some sort of 'mirror' energy phenomenon, I got a VERY direct emotional return from it. It was a clear,,, 'NOPE!' There were no words. The message was very clear, though. (I know how NOPE feels,, it was a definate, NOPE!) Just as I was thinking that, the energy returned the most amazing, joyful laughter.

(So then the interview began!!! Not with words, but with thoughts and emotions. Even recalling it all now, I have to be careful not to forget that there were no words exchanged. Nothing like this has ever happened to me,, (that I can recall) And please understand that all throughout this experience, I kept getting lost in the emotion/energy of it all and will not be able to recall a lot of it in any sensible way...)

I felt the laughter and knew that this thing was communicating with me. I asked it using though words. "Are you real?" Before I was done using the 'words' I got a direct sarcastic return, "Are YOU real?",,, and then again with the joyful/energetic laughter.
    (ok, i get it..)

    Jake: Are you Me?
    Return: Many times over.
    Jake: Am I dead?
Return: (sarcastic) Do you feel dead?
    (Touche..)

    Jake: Why me?
    Return: Not good question.
Jake: Is it you that... (I got lost here in several memories of OBEs where there were 'watchers' or 'teachers',, I don't know how long I was lost, but eventually, I came back.)
Return: (joyful, yet a bit sad, like an 'I miss you' kind of sad.) I think that was a YES.

    Jake: Is this about 2012?
Return: (Quickly and sharply) It is time to grow up!!! (I have been told that in my life,, I know what it feels like to be scolded like this..)

I got the impression that my concerns about 2012 were childish, and that I was not keeping my eye on the ball. Remember, again, there were no words. And when I 'felt' scolded, I got lost in my thoughts and memories for quite a while. When I 'came to' I asked one more question.

Jake: Can I see you again?
Return: Not ME,,, YOU!!! (Gonna have to meditate on all of this later.)

As quickly as the energy body sensations came,, they left again, and the paralysis subsided, and I was left there with much of the memories of the 'interview'. I must point out, that at all times, I felt like this energy (even though I could sort of communicate with it) was a 'middle man' between me and an even larger part of myself. Like an 'interperater me'... I am experienceing 'self' at different levels simultaneously,,, and it is a mind #$@%...
Not my typical style of ObE,, and NOT what I expected.. I guess a version of higher self,,, but not SOURCE... At least not by my expectations...

On another note,, for those of you who are reading Robert Bruce (Energy Work, N.E.W. or Astral Dynamics,,,) Robert has emailed me and he has extended an offer to field any and all questions from this group. He has read over this study a bit, and is willing to help in any way that he can...

On the Astral Dynamics Forum, he already has an Ask Robert Bruce section for forum members, which is a good source for many Astral Projection related topics. But if you have something that you would like me to ask him directly, please do not hesitate to put it forward.. Robert is the real deal, and he has always been willing to help in this arena.. I am excited, and I wanted to throw it out there.. This study is progressing at a pretty fast rate, and I don't want to overload anyone.. lol..

If you have a question for Robert Bruce,, just post it,,, and we will take it from there!!!

    Love to all
    Jake.

I would agree with you Jake regarding the crown exit points you made. There is, if you will a grey area between astral stuff and going beyond the astral into more refined areas, at least there was for me. I don't know at what point exactly how that transition is made. I do know that it is much more refined and subtle. I suspect that is due to entering higher frequencies/higher consciousness. It took me some time before I could begin to recall more fully what was occurring. I suspect that I didn't have the neurons yet to perceive what was going on and it was my extreme passion to "know" that drove me to continue.

As time passed the subtleness of it all became more clear. The "problem" was that in those days I wasn't even remotely interested in the journey itself and didn't linger to smell any roses along the way. I was solely interested in the goal, the goal being to get to the center of all things, the godhead, the seat of god or the heart of it all. No sacrifice was to great-that was an absolute for me. I made a strong pact to myself that as long as there was awareness in me at all, I would continue to the end goal.

At some point you have to take into consideration that the spirit of you is going to start giving you experiences in the lessons you need to learn. Obviously, those lessons will be tailor made for you to experience, usually up close and personal, lol! Sometimes you will be forced to take a long serious and sober look in the mirror both inwardly and outwardly. If you have the passion and the courage to learn, then you will go far.

I am curious about astral travel while the body is ill and needing to conserve as much energy as one can. Does anyone know roughly how much physical energy is used during astral travel? Is there a specific way to do it with the least amount of energy used? I am finding myself wanting to consciously astral travel (the fear has gone or almost about it, funny how it can get all triggered than get less than it was before...)...because I am spending most of my day of most days in bed due to this illness...it's not what I want but how it is...for now...

Well Amethyst, I can only speak for myself here so keep that in mind! Personally there was a part of me that was secretly grateful for physical body illness because it gave me more opportunity to leave the body for longer periods. I assumed the body would heal itself in the early years and I was happy to get out of it for as long as I could.

Besides it takes a lot more energy to keep the physical moving around and seemingly no energy to move around freely outside of it by comparison!

Hey, Amethyst!! Sebastion is exactly right,, from my experience and research.. The projection reflex is much more 'loose' when the physical body is ill. I have suggested that it is because we are (if even on a subconscious level) focusing body awareness over the entire body,, stimulating energy for healing the body. By default,, we are 'loosening' the Astral Body Exit reflex.. Being sick drains your physical body, as it heals itself... A key ingredient to the healing is the subtle energies that begin to flow with basic body awareness... In the past, folks have resorted to exotic means to 'travel' beyond the physical. Many of those means were detrimental to the physical body.. Again, in my opinion,, wether they are aware of it or not,, they are forcing body awareness and energetic flow... You really don't have to understand energy work, to put it into practice... Many of the Eastern Practitioners of energetic constructs (chi) are these tiny feeble old men with very POWERFUL chi... Robust energy and the ability to project are alive and well without regards your being a bit sick... One of the best times (for me) to project is after I've been sleeping,, and wake up with this VERRRRRYYYY HHHEEEEAAAAVVVVYYYYYY exhausted feeling.. Maybe you know what I am talking about.. Sometimes you'll feel it after maybe having slept too much... You just feel really tired and sleepy and your body feels EXHAUSTED!! If you plan to stay up,, you have to get up and active and get your body moving in order to combat that sort of sleep-exhaustion... If you want to lay back down and practice ObE,, it is the best time!! Folks have argued over the years about wether or not it is healthy to practice ObE because there is a (very weak) link between OBE and physical sickness... After about a decade of regular Energy Work and focused body awareness,,, the physical sleep exhaustion is all but gone... There is a link between the health of the Energy Body, and the health of the Physical Body.. (From a higher perspective, they are the same.)

If we cut off the circulation to a limb, or part of our body,, eventually it will die and cause illness to the rest of your body... Well,, you can liken the flow of energy in our energy bodies unto the flow of blood in our physical bodies.. If we do not have energetic flow,, the energy body will lay there dormant,, ill,,,,, and it will cause 'illness' in the energy body and the physical body... Many physical illnesses are DIRECTLY caused by lack of subtle energetic flow in and around the body... Again,, when your body becomes ill,, you are forcing focused body awareness,, and by default,,, stimulating energetic flow...

Sylvan Muldoon was a sickly man. His health was always feeble and he spent many years (on and off) bed ridden, because he was always sick.. Later in his life, his health began to get better, and his OBEs began to lessen. It has been suggested that the frequency in which your OBEs occur, lessen as folks get older. Lots of folks around the OBE forums are reporting that.. I personally believe that Muldoons OBEs lessened because he was simply NOT trying to ObE... I've talked with too many older projectors that say that, yes it takes work (energy work) but they are having astral projections of the most sacred and profound type...

In short, yes there is a link between physical body sickness and Subtle Body Energy. But your bodies natural solution is inviting to the ObE... There is no physical danger with projection. NONE!!!

Amethyst,, try a few energy work techniques.. Try sitting still and focusing your awareness on a single part of your body. I like to start with the tip of my nose. Give it a little scratch so that you can feel sensation there.. Now feel the residual sensation and concentrate your attention at that point. Try and not move your eyes.. Just concentrate on the sensation at the tip of your nose... If it helps,, imagine that someone has a sewing needle, and is moving the tip of it closer and closer to the tip of your nose... Do you feel the tingling/tightening??? That is focused body awareness and tactile imaging. Believe it or not, you can move this point of body awareness, and the 'tingling' up the bridge of your nose. Start slowly and just move it slowly. If it helps, imagine the 'tingling' as being a small energy ball... (you pick the color) Once you can move this tiny ball of energy up and down the bridge of your nose,, you are ready for more!!! Fingers/hands/toes/feet/arms/legs/torso/head/chakras... So you get it! This is energy work, and it is STUPID SIMPLE...

Here are some notes from earlier in the discussion... Do the exercises until you understand what is going on, then make up some of your own.

    Energy Work Part I

    Energy Work Part II

You will be amazed how easy it is to do... There are many other elements to projection, don't expect to be having ObEs just because you are doing energy work.. But,,, I have been there when folks have spontaneously projected with JUST doing energy work, so watch out..

Let us know how it goes...
    Jake.

I would agree with those who say that the OOBEs lessen as one ages. It has been my experience. But there is a very big BUT.

When I was much younger, in my pre and teen years, the vibrations were a weekly, sometimes nightly thing, the intensity of them, as I mentioned in my first post in this thread, caused me to explore sleeping positions until I found the absolute best position to sleep in in order to fight the onset of the vibratory state.

In my 20s, after I discovered what the vibrations were and began my experimentation with the OOBEs, they were still occurring quite normally, weekly and monthly. In my 30s, still weekly and monthly and now, in my 40s, perhaps monthly. And this is only in regards to the incidents that I remember. This is not including the waking OOBEs and those that occur during what I may have remembered or interpreted as merely dream state explorations. And here is where that big BUT comes in.

Since I learned what they were in my 20s, I have generally been able to create the vibratory state at will. Because of the intensity of my first conscious experiences with OOBE projection after reading Monroe's book, I refrained from experimenting overly much with it for almost 20 years and it took me a good decade after I discovered that the vibratory state was the onset of an OOBE to get over the fear! Unlike some in this thread, the fear was not so easy for me to get over, after the intensely traumatic and formative time I had spent between 8 and 23 fighting them in abject terror.

Now, in my mid-40s, when I have the patience to lie down and cultivate the breathing and visualizations exercise to bring about the OOBE state, I am on average about 80% successful. It seems that the ability has now solidified into a practiced state. It is something I can do when I deem it necessary to explore some idea or feeling or problem that I may be seeking some sort of higher guidance on. I still rarely practice the OOBEs consciously but it is good to know that when I need that ability I can call on it and, more often than not, achieve it as I choose to do so and according to my own discernment.

While reading Dr Joe Dispenza's books, I discovered some interesting things. One being that you could fit 2 million neurons on the head of a pin. Tiny little things they are! But more importantly that "unused" neural networks would start being disassembled for other uses after approx. 2 wks. In other words, if you cease to use them for whatever purpose they were established for, then you lose them. Learning that apparent fact answered a lot of questions for me.

There was a number of times when I was exploring different aspects of consciousness that I was able to gain some deeper understandings with, only to have my attention diverted away to take care of more serious physical concerns regarding everyday life. Then when the dust would settle after 2-6 weeks and I had time again to devote, I found that in some cases I would almost have to start over again.

I mention this for obvious reasons. There are, in my experience, many subtle things which go on beyond the body. The more powerfully developed neural system you have in place, then the more awareness of the subtleties you will have, which in many cases you will be grateful for. Experience and experimenting in this area has taught me that much!

I don't know exactly how it works either,, but the same goes with me.. My eyes pop open at 6:00 every morning, unless I am already up.. It started about 10 years ago.. My wife was pretty impressed at first, but it has been the same ever since... Interesting that you bring it up.. I don't recall voices,, but who knows what causes mee eyes to pop open... ??

When I left my body previously it was always to remain just outside or above my body, normally exiting the body by just lifting out, although not through any particular location in the body. It was more like the way people describe "rolling out" of your body. Later when I entered the astral planes it was through my crown chakra. If I started leaving via a different route I would tend to get stuck. It's really weird being stuck in your throat or stomach area, halfway in/halfway out! LOL...
Ha! You can say that again.. lol... For those of you that haven't come across it yet,, the 'roll out' method is an 'exit technique' that Robert Monroe originated.. He would suggest to simply try and 'lift out', but that would hardly ever work.. The most effective way that he found for himself was to simply 'roll out' of your body as if you were rolling over in bed. Make it a 'one swift movement' sort of thing. It is the most effective way out. I have rolled out too fast and ended up through the wall and into the garage!! Eventually, the exit will be much more smooth and natural, and will tend to be associated with a specific energy center,, or Chakra...

I have a couple of questions in to Robert Bruce regarding the different types of 'exits', with regards the energy centers, and the different type of experiences that go along with them... Clearly, a crown center exit will be quite a bit more profound and a much higher sense of dimensionality is experienced.. A base center exit my send you out and about like some sort of horny devil... :O I tend to concentrate on the mechanics of it all which is indicative of a Solar Center exit,, as the Solar Center is associated with vital energy with specific regards the Astral Body... At first, one tends to simply lump them all together as an OBE.. There are different categories of ObE that relate to the different Energy Center Exits.. It is the primary reason that Astral Projectors cannot agree on a definition of ObE... Being a 'phantom floating in the real world' is just one type of experience beyond the constraints of the physical body... Some folks talk about different 'astral bodies' that correspond to different energy center exits... That all makes perfect sense, but is a bit outside of the scope of my knowledge...

When I first began my journey down this road,, I did so kicking and screaming... I had to somehow find a way to get it under control.. I seemed to be stuck in states of energetic catalepsy and fear... I wanted it to go away but it DID NOT... So I had to learn about energy work and sleep paralysis and states of 'threshold consciousness',, simply as a means to an end... What I started to learn ended up setting up a foundation for what would be a lifetime of ObEs and astral projection... I did NOT know that at the time!!! That's why I like to tell people that 'there is a prize at the end'... The prize does not have to simply be an ObE!!! Freedom, and the joy of freedom is what we are seeking to experience.. And as a group (human family) we are bursting out at the seams (so to speak) with regards the experiences that are occurring during this great awakening.. I can't help but imagine what it must have been like to be the first human who ever saw color. Or the first human that ever had a dream... An amazing potential began to come into the lives of earth humans... But how did the first one explain it to the others?? It must have been very fearful and painful... Sure he was having dreams,, but he had no point of reference to what it was, much less explaining it to the others... What words do we use to describe it? Can we teach others this ability? How do I describe the color blue or purple to someone who only sees black and white, or someone who is blind? Should we accept and embrace our experience or should we try and hide it?? No matter what our individual experiences of it,, a new paradigm is bleeding through.. It is liberating and humbling at the same time!! Beyond the memories of my pain is the NOW... And that is encouraging... Rahk,,, We are the generation that is noticing the change... And it can be painful.... Love to you, brother...

I'm reading Dispenzas first book.. This guy is a pretty deep thinker.. (that was an understatement) Right up there with Bruce Lipton and Tom Campbell... His explanation of perceptions vs how the neural networks are wired is nothing less that ground-breaking... I am thrilled to learn from this chap!! Thank you for putting him on my radar... So far, I can't get enough....

I made some notes, trying to connect some dots....

Quieting the cycle of thoughts that keep parts of our brain and neural systems active,, Becoming the 'observer',, as a model/mode of thinking... The Cerrebellum has millions of connections per neuron as opposed to thousands (neo-cortex...) The cerrebalum is what 'endorses' our model of thought/stimuli,, (by allowing the brain to 'rewire' its communacative pathways) and transmutes perception into reality ... Our bodies have a built in system that reacts to 'preserve' the body and its systems. The quieting of thoughts as a practice,, will be seen as a violation to our bodies natural instincts, as the body fights to preserve the model of perception that has been 'endorsed' by the neurons in the Cerrebelum.. I.e,, your body LITERALLY fights to preserve itself based on your PERCEPTION of reality. And those responses kick in and override much of our basic cognative reasoning. Not just cognative reasoning, but actual physiological functioning of they physical body system. Every tiny thought will be represented by the firing of neurons and the corresponding pathways. A collection of thoughts create a neural net that becomes hard wired into the existing nueral networks. Those connections create a 'nerve growth factor'. When we first learned to turn the knob and open the door it was difficult. Now you don't even think about it, your arm simply starts raising as you walk toward the door... A rewiring of physical neural networking based on perception. We have the same structural mechenisms in our brains that deal with attitudes and emotions. And they are also based on perception.. They become automatic and begin to control your responses based on your perception of reality, not reality itself.. By default, all of the experiences in your life are limited by the neural networks that were set up based on belief and perception... The very fabric of our neural network is created by our beliefs and perceptions. When we respond to our environments, it fires up an clicks on synapsis that creates a neural/chemical reaction in the brain that cascades to the rest of the body. Again, how and what you neural pathways communicate are based on our minds interpretation and perception of our environment... How de we rewire it all?? Focus, concentration, will, intent, clearing your mind... All of the things that we have been alluding to with regards OBE and Astral Projection...

Thanks again, for introducing us to his material... It definitely relates...
I'm reading his work now,,, and will more than likely have much more to say about it...

    MULTIDIMENSIONAL MAN Jurgen Ziewe.

A little less known (but very important thinker and experiencer of the OBE and Astral Projection) author named Jurgen Ziewe is not to go unnoticed in this study!! Ziewe wrote a book called Multidemensional Man.. I don't think he meant it to become a moniker for himself.. lol.... Rather an exploration into the condition of Man through the study of ObEs... The following vids are priceless. Jurgen covers the basics of what we have been studying,, plus he goes into vast detail about the astral realms and the and the nature of the multi-layered non-physical dimensions... The book is not offered for free, so I can't really reference it too much, but his website covers everything that the book does, and is a continuation of his research... His take on the ObE and mans destiny is refreshing... I've had ObEs just falling asleep listening to these vids... In my opinion, we can't NOT cover Jurgens material...

This is an informal conversation via Skype with Bob Price, Psychologist and president of INACS, and Dr. Sirley Marques Bonham, a physicist in gravitational physics at the University of Texas at Austin and neuroscientist at the Institute for Neuroscience And Consciousness Studies (INACS). We were discussing Consciousness, the difference between Lucid Dreams and Out-of-Body experience and how almost any kind of information can be accessed during OBEs. We were testing the Skype connection in preparation for a more extensive future talk.

Jurgens take on 'higher self' caught me off guard, as it is very close to my experience...

I plan to break this down and include the most pertinent parts into the main body of the PDF before we are done.. Yes, I am going to compile everything that we study into a complete breakdown of the components of consciousness with regards OBE, and present it as a PDF... It will be a 'how to' booklet with all of the key aspects that we cover here.. We are not quite there yet,, there is much more to consider...

Wow Jake I find it hard to keep up, Its all good though, quiet a collection of data building here. I'm still on Bruce's material for energizing the body I have it downloaded on my smart phone and I see myself running around breaking it out every chance or spare moment I get. Looking much like those I always criticized for doing this exact thing "LOL" but keep it coming as I'm still trying to find that nitch that sends me over the edge. But in reality and hindsight, I'm already over it.

I'm beginning to sense my age may have some hindrance on my ability to project , as per Bruce's, and comments on here.

Listening to what Jurgen has to say is good stuff and corresponds well with my experiences. It seems we use different wording to say the same things! One thing I am sure of though is that he is probably on the cutting edge of some things that he hasn't spoken in public about. Would utterly love to have a private one on one, sit down with him!

I wish to inject into this thread that when you put together the information that the aforementioned doctors and physicist have said, it's going to be revealed to you some amazing things that are more then just possibilities.

What has already been stated thus far should begin to convince you of the great potentials within yourself that is awaiting discovery. Methinks the greatest journey of exploration and discovery lies within you to uncover. It is good to learn things from others to a point but the real gold, the real truth is already latent within your own consciousness.

If you are just waiting for something "outside" of you to happen, like the new agers want to believe, well you will be waiting for a long, long time. If you think that some outside event is going to happen and wah-la, you wake up the next morning all enlightened and bushy tailed, well, sorry about your luck!

Learning to obe is the first step of an awesome journey of discovery. It will be cool to see how Jake puts his pdf together in summary and I look forward to it!
