Bedouin is not so much the name of a tribe.. "bedouin" is just plain Arabic and means “the nomads” – the -in ending being the plural for بَدَوِي (“nomad”)

True enough; to which we could add that the African Tuareg are the western branch of it. They have just attacked Mali and Wagner PMC; they of course cannot represent a "country", although perhaps "some territory".

Such nomadic groups are still active through Jordan as well. Their collective hands are full of human trafficking, drugs, forced childhood prostitution and slavery, and they are typically very violent.

As to whether their Bahraini counterparts are like that, I cannot say; the lifestyle is based on the ability to move high-value goods across inhospitable conditions. They are not "nomadic pastoralists", such as Mongols moving to fresh pasture.

I liked and remembered the story, because, regardless of whether the group may practice something that sounds criminal to us, such as slavery, they nevertheless have standards and "unwritten laws" that triumph their own personal feelings. And when we see how that is strongly based on "taking someone in", then, we get a very different message from the one in my society today.

The Muslim that most influenced me, never really spoke about theology or churches, etc., it was all about profound moral values. In this way, although we know that if you snatch one of these high-value items, they cut off your hand, but the absolute worst crime was what he translated into French:

    vol de confiance

which is pretty close to Dante putting Betrayal in the Ninth Circle of Hell. If you take me in as a guest, and I earn your trust and friendship, and then use it for nefarious means, that is how you get your head cut off.

We perhaps trusted for a while that Zion was an opportunity for Jews to "learn farming", and that whoever they fought must have been for a good reason, whereas they have really maximized the above-named crime.
    Thank you Shaberon. True.

I would like to add something to the "vol de confiance” idea. In French one has the (also juridically valid) expressions "vol" and "abus de confiance", which translate in English as "theft" and "breach of trust".

Considering that, one can easily see how "vol de confiance” – to be translated as "theft of trust" – is a quite novel idea – and as such, does not belong to juridical parlance. We know what theft is, and derive this clear knowledge from the material nature of "theft". One steals a diamond, a car, money. (Hands used to be cut off.) On the other hand, we know what trust is and derive this knowledge from the knowledge of our hearts and human hearts, because "trust" is what emanates from the heart. Trust is the expectancy of the good done by the person trusted. We can “feel” how there is a continuous and gradual passage, a slope, leading from trust to mutual trust, from mutual trust to communion of belongings, and feelings, and thoughts, and from this communion to the communion of bodies, souls and spirits called love. Such "holiness" residing in trust can be "breached" or "broken", when the person trusted does not do the good that was expected. Cheats, slanders, steals..

What then is the "theft" of "trust"? How can this immaterial “thing” be stolen? (And hence, what would "theft of love" be?) Precisely because it is so immaterial, it is also mutual. When I trust you, you trust me. To do our best, i.e our good. Precisely because it is immaterial it is not the same thing as a financial transaction. Paying less than goods purchased are worth, or requiring a higher price than their value, would be theft. Trust however, mutual trust, barters the same for the same. When love is there, it is the same love for the same love. Reaching this stage of mutual trust and mutual love is by itself the highest prize: we have reached, when we trust and love, the stage where "never again" we have to "check the accounts" because there can be no disparity, there can be no less or more in value. And that feeling of relief when one has found the trusted and/or the loved one, is in itself already utter bliss.

"Theft of trust" then presupposes that trust given by A is relegated to the status of a commodity. A’s trust is devalued – artificially, and untruthfully, considered to be something sellable, and hence stealable. Only when this is done first, is "theft" of trust possible. What is more: it also means that B has first devalued his own "trust in A" into a commodity of even less value than A’s trust in B. The exchange of trust is reduced to a bargain in which the "thief of trust", B, has never trusted A’s trust to be genuine trust, and considers it so cheap that he proceeds to exchange for it his own apparent “trust” in A, which he, B, knows to be void, inexistent, a lie. Not only does B insult A in considering A’s trust as of "no much good", but he has also cheated or yes, betrayed A, in having simulated his trust in A from the beginning.

In the Qur'an there is this extraordinary passage in which Abel says to Cain: “go ahead, kill me: while doing so you will take away from me my propensity to kill and sin and add it to your own” (free paraphrase). The "thief of trust", B exposes himself to killing by A because by distrusting A he has taken away from A the capacity to trust and love.

Another thought about Bill’s original story (which actually does not really involve "theft" or even "breach" of trust). After the murderer of the family member leaves the “space of the tent” (its copper plate with food, its bedding and cushions, its companionship of a devoted slave) he is killed for his murder. What is striking here is, to me, the discontinuity between the being a guest and the being killed. It is not only a "space of the tent", it is also a "time of the tent". In the tent, continuity of time in which wrongs are righted, karma is exacted, does not exist. That is also the both literal and symbolic significance of the pre-islamic love poems, I think. The lovers meet each other in this nocturnal space and time of total mutual trust. In the tent everything is shared: every thing and all the immaterial goods: trust and love. It is some form of heaven – on earth – already.

Now these moments... people are really tired of lying of this killer regime...

In this episode of Head to Head, Mehdi Hasan challenges prominent Israeli historian Benny Morris on his support for Israel’s war on Gaza, the history around the founding of Israel and the Nakba.

Morris’ book ‘The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem, 1947-1949’ dismantled many of the myths behind the displacement of more than 700,000 Palestinians during that period. His critics, however, say he now justifies many of those crimes.

Hasan and Morris are joined by a panel of three experts:

Diana Buttu – a Palestinian lawyer and former advisor for the PLO
Daniel Levy – a former Israeli peace negotiator and current President of the US/ Middle East Project
Emmanuel Navon – an International Relations lecturer at Tel Aviv University

This was filmed before the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran on 31 July.

    ======

“It guarantees us escalation at a time when there were negotiations for a ceasefire. It has frozen those negotiations.”
In a special Zeteo Town Hall, Ex Israel-Hamas negotiator Gershon Baskin... who has had contact with Hamas for 17 years—joins Mehdi to discuss the latest escalation in Israel’s war in Gaza. He sheds light on the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and the increasingly distant prospect of a ceasefire deal.

“It makes us less secure.” Former Israeli negotiator blasts Netanyahu for Haniyeh killing.

Excellent reasoning. Yes, that represents the intricacy of myth and scripture--the material event, easy to see--is usually just an allegory of something deeper, profound, internal/subjective.

That gets cheaped out by "minor dogma", such as if a Commandment says "Don't steal", and you ask "why?", and the answer is "it's wrong, you'll get punished".

Not a fan of the expression "it's wrong".

I doubt we will get an explanation for this, but:

Zionist media outlets report an explosion near Israeli embassy in India

    They keep trying:

The second statement mentioned that the Air Defense Unit of the Islamic Resistance fired anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli war jets flying over South Lebanon, obliging them to retreat back to the occupied Palestinian airspace.

    And, for a closer look:

Quote Three Israeli members of Knesset warned Prime Minister Netanyahu that the occupation military’s current plan for land incursion into Lebanon could “result in a tragic failure with unprecedented consequences,” Israeli media reported.

Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported that three Israeli lawmakers, members of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, warned the government against the plan a month ago.

The letter, also sent to members of the occupation government, read: “According to the information in our possession, the implementation of the operational plan drawn up by the Israeli army could lead to a tragic failure with unprecedented consequences. The security officials are deeply mistaken in their understanding of the enemy’s strategy.”

The MPs stressed in the letter that they support a ground incursion into Lebanon, but believed that the current plan “will lead to a stalemate,” according to the Israeli daily.

“The plan for Lebanon has not learned from the mistakes made during the operation in Gaza and that it is crucial to define the objective of the war as the destruction of Hezbollah’s governmental and military capabilities, rather than simply pushing it away from the border.”

They added that “the planned action in southern Lebanon will not eliminate the threat of Hezbollah’s fire capabilities, which are mostly deployed north of the Litani River and can reach Haifa, Tel Aviv, and even beyond.”

The report comes as the Zionist entity is on alert over ahead an anticipated retaliation by Hezbollah and Iran after the assassination of senior Hezbollah Jihadi commander Fuad Shokr in Beirut’s Dahiyeh and Hamas Politburo Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Correspondingly, I doubt there is any plan to assassinate Likud leaders; the idea has been to hold them in trial. Doesn't really matter by whose hands. Just so there will be public examination and accountability for what they have done.

As for the rest, Generals on down, they will probably be shipped to the Greek city Necropolis.

That's pretty serious. We are still in the fog here. I thought Iran had some amount of air defense, and so how Israel may have performed a precision strike in Tehran probably depends on U. S. satellite data, but how did they do it? Sec-Gen has not paid any heed to Israeli denial of it.

    The Turkish plan was merely:

Quote During a speech to his Justice and Development (AK) Party on Sunday Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country could intervene militarily in Israel’s war in Palestine. “We need to be very strong so that Israel cannot do these ridiculous things to Palestine. Just as we entered Karabakh, just as we entered Libya, we can do something similar to them.”

Whatever that means, is something he *can* do, whereas for the arrogant Israeli response:

Quote The Atlantic Alliance in any case does not even have, as of now, a mechanism to expel a member, and back in 2021 NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that creating such a system “would never happen”.

Whatever Iran proceeds with, of course, has to cross the U. S. infestation of Iraq. I can't think of what a "symmetrical" response would be, or, that this will be strictly limited to one.

    Sitting ducks are tasty:

Quote In addition to increased aerial patrols, dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets were waiting on tarmacs, ready to launch an attack or defend against one, according to Israel’s Channel 12 TV.

Among other things, I suppose we will watch the planetary population split along the lines of sane/insane, adults/children, civilized/atrocious, which seem to more accurately depict the opposing sides than political labels do.

US to send more warships, jets to Middle East to protect 'Israel'
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered the deployment of additional naval warships, fighter jets, and anti-ballistic missile defense systems in the Middle East in anticipation of the Iranian and Resistance Axis response to the recent Israeli assassinations and aggressions.

In the past two weeks, the Israeli regime has assassinated two high-ranking Resistance leaders and carried out an air aggression on Yemen.

Hamas' Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran on Wednesday while on an official visit. Less than 12 hours later, "Israel" assassinated a Hezbollah top military leader, Sayyed Mohsen Shokor, in an airstrike on Beirut, which also resulted in the martyrdom of Iranian military advisor Milad Bidi and five civilians - three women and two children. The Israeli regime also conducted an airstrike on Yemen's Ras Kathib power station located in the Hodeidah port, leading to the martyrdom of six civil servants.

"To maintain a carrier strike group presence in the Middle East, the Secretary has ordered the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN Carrier Strike Group to replace the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT Carrier Strike Group, currently on deployment in the Central Command area of responsibility," the Pentagon said in a statement.

Austin also ordered additional ballistic missile defense-capable cruisers and destroyers to the US European Command and US Central Command regions, and increased readiness to deploy additional land-based ballistic missile defense, the statement added.

"These posture adjustments add to the broad range of capabilities the U.S. military maintains in the region, including the USS WASP Amphibious Ready Group / Marine Expeditionary Unit (ARG/MEU) operating in the Eastern Mediterranean," with over 4,500 Sailors and Marines onboard across the force.

The US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has informed "Israel" about current and future changes to US forces in the Middle East, the Pentagon said on Friday.

"(Austin) informed the minister of additional measures to include ongoing and future defensive force posture changes that the department will take to support the defense of Israel," Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh told reporters earlier after a call between Austin and Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant.

    'Very hard to replicate'

Citing several US officials, Axios reported on Thursday that Iran's attack is expected to be larger but similar in nature to that back in April, which came in response to the Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic's consulate in Syria and could also involve Hezbollah.

The US, UK, and France along with several regional countries joined efforts, both military and intelligence, to repel Iran's April operation consisting of some 300 drones and missiles launched at "Israel". According to estimations then, the few-hours interception operations cost over $1 billion.

Read more: US officials doubt 'Israel', allies, ready to face Iranian retaliation

Following the Iranian, a senior US official told Axios then that it will be "very hard to replicate the huge success" of intercepting the Iranian drones and missiles "and the Israelis know it."

According to Axios, President Joe Biden's administration today fears that it may be more difficult to form the same coalition to protect "Israel," since the Iranian retaliation for the assassination of Haniyeh is part of the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, which resulted in the growing of opposition to "Israel" in the region.

Breaking | Israeli forces have arrested and abducted the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ikrima Sabri from his home in Jerusalem, after the 85-year-old eulogized the late Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh during his Khutba for Friday prayers.

Following the speech, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for an “immediate investigation” into the matter, while Interior Minister Moshe Arbel announced his intention to revoke Sabri’s residency permit.

Khaled al-Qaddumi, Hamas' representative in Iran, today provided new details about the night of the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh.

Speaking to Al-Jadeed newspaper, al-Qaddumi refuted the New York Times' account claiming Haniyeh's death was due to a bomb, stating, "At 1:37 AM, the building [where the martyr's residence was] shook. I immediately exited my room and saw thick smoke. Shortly after, I learned that Hajj Abu al-Abd (Haniyeh) had attained martyrdom."

He continued, "Due to the intensity of the building's shaking, I initially thought it was an earthquake or thunder. I opened the window, but there was no sign of rain or thunder. The weather was warm. We went up to the fourth floor where the martyr's bedroom was and saw that the walls and ceiling had collapsed."

Al-Qaddumi also stated, "The condition of the attack site and the martyr Haniyeh's body made it clear that this attack was carried out with an airstrike or missile. However, I do not wish to delve into further details as our technical and specialized teams in the Islamic Republic of Iran are investigating, and results will be announced later."

US should stay out of Israeli affairs imo.
The problem, of course, is that the US is greatly influenced by Israel, and pretty much fully controlled by them.

It might take an amendment in the US constitution to prevent wealthy foreign donors effectively bribing American lawmakers to make decisions in foreign interests. But that's very unlikely to ever happen, as those very lawmakers receiving bribes are the ones who would have to vote for the amendments.

When asked if the world could avoid nuclear war, Jung said "I think it depends on how many people can stand the tension of the opposites in themselves. If enough can do so, I think the situation will just hold, and we shall be able to creep around innumerable threats and thus avoid the worst catastrophe of all: the final clash of opposites in an atomic war."
