Some ships would be permitted through, while others wouldn't.

Probably they will permit their allies to pass. So it's gonna be western countries that are now totally screwed.

A Turkish analysis much different from anything else I have heard describing the plan to break up Iran
Wishful thinking from an ideologue: called “an opportunity” for Turkey. Typical is the exaggeration of Turkic (Azeri) demographics and “forgetting” of the non-Azeri speaking Iranian shores on the Caspian.

The balance between Semitic (Arabic, Aramaean), Indo-European (Greek, Russian, Armenian, Kurd, Persian, Pashto) and Turkic (Turkey, Azerbaidjian, most of the “-stans”) cultures has always been civilisational in the Near/Middle East region – disturbed only by massive aggression from external empires (the Mongols, the British/Americans). This civilisational coalescence is now guaranteed by China and Russia. Erdogan’s advisers may suggest "opportunities", but they will be defeated by the very Third World War they will need to launch in order to secure them.

    This is called "safer":

    wherein:

Quote The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said announced the 20th wave of True Promise-3, saying that the multi-warhead Kheibar Shekan was deployed for the first time.

It added that the guided ballistic missiles had maneuverable and highly-explosive warheads that were being guided until the final moment of devastating impact.

The Israeli occupation army’s so-called “Home Front Command” suspected that an Israeli air defense interceptor malfunctioned and crashed in Haifa leading the sirens not to sound during the missile strike by Iran.

Israeli media reported an early warning was issued via the cell broadcast system in Haifa, but no sirens sounded as no ballistic missiles were heading for the city.

During the attack, an air defense interceptor likely misfired and impacted in Haifa, according to a preliminary Israeli “Home Front Command” investigation.

The remarks by the Israeli occupation authorities match with Iran’s IRGC’s statement which said that the sirens in the occupied territories “sounded only after the missiles hit the targets, upsetting the balance of the enemy.”

Israeli media reports extensive damage caused to the occupied cities where Iranian missiles fell

Israeli occupation authorities say 9,000 Israelis displaced so far amid Iranian missile strikes

Pakistani PM calls Iranian president: Islamabad condemns US strikes, voices solidarity with Iran’s government and people

And no, of course Iran is not going to hose American bases over the "infraction", because their responses are measured and appropriate. The level of response to this, militarily, is to largely ignore it. I already got a full tank of gas, since "within two weeks" usually means "tomorrow" when it comes to closing the Strait of Hormuz. If this was not the goal of the western move, it's inexplicable. Last month it was "I want to make a deal with Iran". Zero sense is coming from the Oval Office, and now everybody in the world can pay for it.

Meanwhile, with, presumably, most of the interceptors out of the way, incoming missile salvos have increased again, back up to around 40. Haifa refinery again, some electrical plant, and a few airbases, as well as Rafael and other industries have all been visited.

Of course, America is full of more threats, and if any of them cause noticeable damage, that would merit a response.

As to whether Congress can restrain the mangy, rabid mutt, I don't know.

Asking to condemn the rogue country:

Quote The ministry said the world must not forget that it was the US that, in the middle of a diplomatic process, betrayed diplomacy by supporting the genocidal and lawbreaking Israeli regime to impose a war of aggression on the Iranian nation.

“Now, in completion of that regime’s unlawful and criminal acts, the United States itself has launched a dangerous war against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” it said, adding that it has now become abundantly clear to all that “the very regime which enjoys permanent membership in the Security Council is beholden to no principle or morality and will stop at no illegality or crime to serve the aims of a genocidal, occupying regime.”

We're being dragged around by a criminal dictator.

    This is a Fascist country.

America lacks any ability. Nothing much left for the rich to parasitize. Instead of doing something agreeable and instructive, it's causing everything to fall apart, as usual. Perhaps soon, the "indispensable" will be dispensed:

Quote “Once again, this act has exposed the inability of the aggressor front to create real change in the field. They lack both the initiative and the capacity to escape devastating retaliation,” it added.

The statement further noted that the “repeated failures” of American policies reflect its “strategic incompetence and its disregard for the ground realities of the region.”

“Instead of learning from past setbacks, Washington, by directly attacking peaceful facilities, has now placed itself squarely at the forefront of the aggression,” the IRGC said.

The statement said the departure points of the aircraft involved in the aggression have been identified and are under surveillance, thanks to the comprehensive intelligence of Iran’s armed forces.

The IRGC said it will never be intimidated by the “bluster of Trump or the criminal gangs ruling the White House and Tel Aviv.”

It is. I would like to consider it a "temporary appeasement", except:

    It's a crime.

It destroys the United Nations Charter, and is going to cause some difficult economic adjustments, for the unforseeable future.

Plus, it is backed by further threats, unsupported by Congress, who is supposed to have authority in acts of war. So it is also a Constitutional crime.

It is, in a sense, a joke, making us a laughingstock, while it hurts inside. The rest of the world will tolerate us less. This place is de-humanized.

It'll be a miracle if Donald Trump can recover from this, although it's not over yet by a long chalk. American and Israeli leadership, both nuclear powers, have revealed themselves to the world to be unbalanced, some would say no better than terrorists themselves, and I can't see the events of the last few days having no consequences. And who would have thought Iran, who we've all been led to believe are madmen, have been the ones to show restraint and diplomacy? That is not to say their regime is acceptable in any way.

What are the chances of some/all Middle East countries inviting the US to close their air bases given the grave risk of radiation from bombing Iran's uranium fields? Were they even consulted about this beforehand? (There have been one or two countries over the years who have asked the US to leave, including the Philippines and France, albeit only temporary).

Yep. Operation Barbarossa. It was a critical mistake by Nazi Germany and subsequently led to the largest and deadliest land war in history. Germany suffered a total of 1 million + military casualties, whilst the Russians had over 4.5 million casualties. Let's hope that our current congressional leaders remember history and are able to restrain our moronic president and his administration. However, the stranglehold that Maga has on our governmental systems is leaving me not very optimistic 😕

As crazy as this sounds ANYTHING is possible in this crazy world.

    Quote https://x.com/RealAlexJones/status/

Trump told Fox News that he worked with Iran to stage an attack in 2020 to de-escalate war.

I hope this is what’s happening now..

🇮🇷🇺🇸‼️🚨 BIG SHOW - BACK DOOR DEAL?

    1) Iran’s nuclear facilities were evacuated and equipment moved out days in advance.

    2) US publicly announced and made the upcoming strikes visible. We all saw the bombers moving in place and the news coverage predicting the strike.

    3) The U.S. hence struck an empty Iranian nuclear facility, since the Iranians knew and evacuated it.

    4) US satellites showed the evacuation of the facilities by the Iranians, hence the Americans knew the facility is are empty and not operational.

    5) US and Iran held secret talks in Oman days before, no one knows what was agreed upon.

    6) Trump essentially explained that such a deal was done previously.
    -> The attached video!

    7) The only logical conclusion is that Iran and USA made a secret deal to end the war.
    - USA strikes empty facilities
    - Iran will retaliate but miss (like in the video explained)

-> Just watch for the Iran response. Not the words, but the actual physical response. If it’s not too harsh on casualties, but looks big … I’m right.

PS: It’s a geopolitical observation I made. I could be wrong.

People need to understand that the governments are not telling us the truth most of the time and that not everything is as it seems. The authorities need consent, so they make shows for you.

Don’t get upset. Just note it as a possible scenario. I’m not here to repeat the MSM talking points of any country, here you got the nuanced middle position I feel is right.

UN Security Council to address US strikes on Iran nuclear sites

The United Nations Security Council is expected to hold an emergency meeting later today, Sunday, at Iran's request, to discuss the United States’ recent attacks on key nuclear sites across the Islamic Republic, according to diplomatic sources cited by Reuters.

The urgent session comes amid heightened tensions following Washington’s targeting of Iran’s main nuclear facilities, including Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. Iran has condemned the attacks as a flagrant breach of international law.

In response, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), sent a formal letter to Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), urging the agency to launch an immediate investigation into what he described as an "unlawful act of aggression" by the United States.

Eslami stressed that the Islamic Republic strongly protests the US assault on its peaceful nuclear infrastructure, stating that the attacks constitute “a blatant violation of international regulations” and must be met with clear condemnation from the IAEA.

    Iran requests emergency UNSC meeting

Iran formally requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council in response to recent US airstrikes targeting three of its nuclear facilities. In twin letters sent to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Council's current president, Iran's mission to the United Nations described the strikes as a serious breach of international law and a direct threat to regional and global stability.

It called for “the strongest possible condemnation” and immediate action to ensure accountability, characterizing the attacks as deliberate and illegal. The letters, referencing earlier communications dated June 13 through 20, warned of “dangerous escalation” resulting from what Iran described as Washington’s unlawful use of force.

According to the mission's statement, the airstrikes occurred in the early hours of June 21 and were carried out in coordination with "Israel", which had launched simultaneous attacks on Iranian civilians and infrastructure. The targeted sites, Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, are all part of Iran’s safeguarded nuclear program.

    US, 'Israel' crossed 'red line'

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States and the Israeli occupation of crossing a “very big red line” by launching coordinated attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, warning that Tehran will respond by “all means necessary.”

Speaking on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Istanbul, Araghchi said the strikes marked a grave escalation in the war, particularly after US President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces had bombed three nuclear facilities, including the underground enrichment site at Fordow.

"I still do not have exact information about the level of damage, but I don't think it matters... Last night's attack was a grave crime,” Araghchi said. “The United States has dealt a serious blow to international peace and security.”

The Iranian foreign minister rejected renewed Western appeals for diplomacy, accusing Washington of destroying the talks.

“They have proved that they are not men of diplomacy, and they only understand the language of threat and force,” Araghchi said. “The United States decided to blow up diplomacy.”

🇮🇷 Officially, Iran has started returning tankers to the Strait of Hormuz, expect oil prices to explode

Ships set to cross the Strait of Hormuz make a 180 degree U-Turn at ~9:15 AM ET this morning.

This was just minutes after Iran's parliament approved closing the Strait.
