Personal note: Are they really destroying physical books??

For the past couple of years I've had this urge to gather textbooks on a variety of technical, historical, natural medicine, and political topics. Before they disappear. Paper maps too. Before the internet goes down and online maps with it. I hope many other people do this too.

No. it's quoting John the Baptist.

Found in Luke 3:8 and Matthew 3:7-9.

Yes, it is a diatribe against bloodline chosenites, but John adds that baptism is equally insufficient.

In Judaism, it doesn't matter what John or Jesus said. But, that would return to the mission of Christianity, which would be to absorb and replace Judaism.

That doesn't mean by force. But it does mean to do it. And when modern Israel arises as nothing but sheer force, at that point you might escalate what was merely a platitude aimed at Sadducees and Pharisees.

Such things might be a matter of degree, but, rather plainly, the idea that Christianity supports Judaism in any way is much closer to Anti-Christ. You could, perhaps, tolerate it non-violently if it were well-behaved, as in some of the diaspora communities, but not in any Zionism.

As a non-believer in either the theology, or the validity of the New Testament as a compilation, I am left with an iron-clad respect and value in several things about or attributed to Jesus and some of the others.

I've been unable to muster this in terms of Judaism, defined as Elijah and successors. It's not the same as what was around in the Solomonic era, which would be the Psalms. Some of those probably hold some value. But then suddenly you have this thing that is against everything else.

If you want to follow something that I personally disagree with, that's fine, until the "against-ness" has repercussions on other people. And, it definitely does, starting with King Josiah ca. 600s B. C. E..

I'm not bashing anything, in fact I've been hopeful one or more Jews might post about how this works and all of the historical "problems", but it hasn't happened yet.

On the other hand, what John said was far from original, because those same points were made in the Rg Veda somewhere around 1,500 B. C. E., which means there is a common way of thinking that is more productive for civilization.

Modern Zionism is a blatant defeat of it all, a product of only Protestant denominations, and I am sure Jesus neither wrote the English Bible, nor gave those interpretations, which is why Orthodoxy is Christianity, and those others are not.

This information is often misrepresented because of the wording.

It was never Israel funding Hamas. The money came from Qatar ... cash in suitcases because Gazans were not allowed to have bank accounts for many years.

Israel provided security for that cash as it moved through Israel to Gaza. So, Israel ensured that the money in suitcases from Qatar was not stolen as it moved through Israel.

Hamas was the majority in government in Gaza. That government managed hospitals, schools, graveyards, water desalination plants, etc. Money was required for salaries, to buy equipment and goods, etc. The Israeli siege in Gaza meant that Gaza could not have have a functioning economy and so it could not generate money for such an economy. There were also a lot of refugees in Gaza that had been expelled from Israel. They had lost their homes, land, businesses, and thus required support.

The money was not from Israel. The money was not funding Hamas. Israel allowed those suitcases stuffed with cash to go to Gaza so they did not have to take responsibility for taking care of the population they imprisoned. (Not a new idea ... the 'prisoners' the UK sent to Australia were required to build their shelters, grow their food, etc. so the UK did not have to pay for the upkeep of 'prisoners'.)

Other than the regular bombing and killing of people by snipers, with the support of Qatar and others, people in Gaza had a relatively decent life. But, they were cut off from the world ... had to get permission from Israel to leave Gaza, could not have a normal relationship with the rest of the world, could not engage in trade at all, could not have a bank account for a long time, had to get permission from Israel for every item that was allowed into the enclave or to leave the enclave to study or visit family elsewhere or even travel to explore the world outside the enclave ... (Palestinians were allowed into Israel daily to do work as labourers, especially building work, but I am not sure if that included Gazans.)
